Room is just right if you're planning to spend the rest of your day out exploring the city. Room is cold enough for a good night's sleep. If you're a light sleeper, the walls are thin and you could hear people talking in the hallways. Upstairs neighbors with heavy feet could also be a problem. Location wise, your neighbors are really good chinese restaurants. Chinatown mrt is also a few steps away.

Hotel Mono is staffed by 1 person, has 1 elevator, bathrooms on the first floor, secure entrance, clean rooms, lounge area on 2nd floor, shops very close by. Sounds leaks through doors. Overall, comfortable room. Did not use the TV. Showers were fine and no issues.

Pros- nice quiet internal 2-queen room. Beds are very comfortable. It’s located right in Chinatown which has plenty of restaurants and shopping areas.

Not so good- the room is very small same as the bathroom. Very basic. Front receptionist polite but not overly friendly. Air conditioner works well but noisy.

I don’t think it would be our choice for any future trips.

The room that was given to us was so tiny, almost we can say it didn’t had a window (very silly one opening to a shaft with no much light and sharing with other room or whatever room). Bathroom is not much clean. AC unit is old. No breakfast and for something like this it felt really pricey. In Chinatown. However would never come again. Don’t let the nice mono color photos deceive you as it did to me

Short walk to Chinatown or Maxwell stations. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. Not a fan of how busy this location gets particularly at night. All the noise from the restaurants makes its way to the room even with the windows closed. In addition, the nightly collection of rubbish and bottles makes it tough to get a good nights sleep. Can easily be solved with ear plugs.

For the price, this is a good option in Singapore. It is a barebones hotel in Chinatown and very close to lots of public transit and walking distance to a lot of options.

I was in a room overlooking Mosque St and if you don't need total silence to sleep, then you'll be fine.

The staff was a bit all over the place, some very welcoming, others were cold.

At the end of the day, this is the choice because you want something cheap, clean, smaller, and in a great location.

I recently experienced an issue during check-out at your hotel that I’d like to bring to your attention. I requested an additional 30 minutes to check out (from 12:00 to 12:30) due to a business meeting, but my request was denied. While I understand policies may vary, I was disappointed with the way the situation was handled—it felt neither professional nor polite.

As a returning guest who has stayed at your hotel three times, I had higher expectations for the level of service. This experience left me feeling undervalued as a loyal guest. I hope this feedback helps improve future interactions with guests in similar situations.

The Hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly and attentive. Sadly, the rooms are tired and the furniture is poor. The bedframe and chair had multiple sharp edges which made it a hazard to navigate the small room wearing shorts. The one chair in the room was unusable with bare legs.
The bathroom sink was blocked and, when I cleared it with an old toothbrush, I retrieved a mass of oily hair and elastics. Certainly this could have been addressed when the room was prepared.
The sheets were not changed daily, even when requested, and the quality of the linen and blankets is poor and they have obviously been used many times.
The toilet had a slow leak around the base (ugh) and I had to keep a towel in place to contain the leakage.
The TV had no signal when I arrived and, when I looked behind to check the connection, I discovered multiple generations of dusk-bunnies had taken up residence. The staff corrected the TV problem promptly but the dirt left a bad impression.
I didn’t expect luxury but was disappointed with the dirt and the dangerously sharp furniture.
I would not return to this venue as the price is too high to allow for the shortcomings.
I would pay a few dollars more for more modern and better maintained hotels in the same area.

You cannot get a better location. Easy MRT ride from the airport and walking distance to Chinatown and Maxwell Hawker centers. Safe.

Friendly staff who helped before checking in. Give you water everyday.

The room is tight for a basic room but you’re just using it to sleep. The only downside is the soap and shampoo offering is terrible. The bottle in the shower is conditioner and body cream. Not sure where the shampoo is.

However, still highly recommend.

Pictures do not reflect the reality of the exterior and to a lesser extent the interior of the property. The hotel is a budget hotel which in itself is fine but the pictures reflect something much nicer.

The hotel is clearly dated with lots of signs of wear in the rooms, the bed was small and uncomfortable and small as was the rest of the room.

The signal on the TV made it unusable and the filter on the AC unit had not been changed leading to both me and my partner getting a saw throat from our night after we stayed here.

The staff were helpful without being friendly and the location of this hotel is right in Chinatown so makes it a great location to get out and explore. In hindsight I would spend a little time extra for a nicer room if I had my time again.

Bathroom.smelled mouldy. Air conditioning dirty and dusty.
Bathroom was barely accessible due to toilet placement. Unable to close door without standing over it.

Bed was ok. Firm and a bit lumpy.

Room was pretty noise, could hear everything in common areas, people walking around etc.

Reception was very blunt, did not make me feel welcome, simply barked 500 orders at me asking me to sign multiple documents agreeing to random policies which weren't well explained.

The only redeeming quality is the location. It's ultra close to MRT, shops and restaurants.

I wouldn't stay here again or recommend staying here to others.

Super convenient location! MRT station was really close by, heaps of Hawker Centres to check out around the area and loads of cultural/religious sites to explore as well. The room was quite small though and it was very easy to hear what was going on in other rooms - I think I was woken up by someone singing along to Doja Cat one morning and by a baby crying on another instance. There are very evident signs of wear and tear in the rooms but it was decently clean.

The room was extremely noisy - 1) there was some machine (outdoor AC unit?) running extremely loudly during the night, 2) the AC within the room was broken and it was making some cracking sounds whole night.

I didn't sleep at all. Not exactly great experience when you're on business trip and come to the hotel in the middle of the night after long flight.

I will not stay again under any circumstances.

The hotel is fine and we were glad to be upgraded to a premium room 201 which is the largest at the property. Having tea and coffee making facilities were great and bottles of water in the fridge was a nice gesture. The hotel is less than 5 min walk from a metro station and has lots of restaurants, a few bars and a 7 eleven. It’s located a mile from Marina bay and you could walk. The major minus is the noise. The hotels windows are single glazed, the rubbish is emptied in the middle of each morning and it takes a good few minutes for the noise to stop, noise from the restaurants below is also a difficulty.

As others have commented, in real life it doesn’t match the pictures. Overall it looks tired and needs a fresh coat of paint. I slept well, the room was quiet and dark, although you do hear others coming and going, but that wasn’t a problem as I was at the far end and therefore only heard my neighbours when they entered their room.

There is a small fridge and tea/coffee making, but no other services available. You are either stuck in room, or have to go to other premises to sit, relax or eat.

Would I stay again? Probably not, as I like to have breakfast and decent coffee first thing, without going out.

Great location, hotel is slightly older property but clean and relatively comfortable for the price range.

No big issues - hot water ran out a bit fast, but it is common in some older housing areas and storage hot water systems.
Cleanliness is average, only note was that the glass cups in bathroom were not clean upon arrival.
It was also just a little unfortunate that the mini fridge smelt of durian as previous guest/s didn't follow hotel rules about bring them back to the room.

Triple room?

Booked a room specifically with 3 beds but got a double and a single bed instead. Apparently it's \"subject to availability\" which is bizarre as we've never heard that before.
Not sure if this is an hotel issue or this website misadvertising rooms, but we were too tired to argue after a long flight.

Felt we overpaid for this since we could've found a better priced one if we were after a double and single bed room instead of a triple bed room that we actually wanted. If I knew this was the case, I would have booked somewhere else.

Service was subpar, asked to order us a taxi but they couldn't as we were a party of three so I ordered a taxi via. Grab instead. At least we got daily housekeeping though.
