The charm and person service of a boutique hotel with the facilities of the Clan Hotel next door. One of the best, most friendly staffs we have ever dealt with, always doing everything possible to make us comfortable and well cared for. The location is perfect, on the edge of Chinatown across the street from the fast, efficient metro. We have a new favorite hotel to send our friends to and, fingers crossed, return to someday.

Excellent location and quality of the hotel and staff. Each room is wonderfully unique in this property carved from a historic building. Breakfast is at a little cafe within the building complex, but is a menu of limited items instead of a buffet. The Amoy is sister hotel to the Clan immediately next door which has an infinity pool and gym, available for use by Amoy guests, and showers that can be used after checkout from the hotel, useful for late flights.

Great location

The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to a number of the major tourist destinations, and has an MRT station on the doorstep. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The building is historic and very interesting.
The only downside for us was the number of levels (a.k.a. steps) in the building as we are an older couple.

Breakfast food quality good, however if you want anything extra, eg cheese in the plain omelette , it would incur extra charge! Really! Bearing in mind they offer smoked salmon omelette inclusive at breakfast, I thought this was very mean. Other than that, couldn't fault the hotel

Rome 308, however, was like sitting on a nightclub speaker until after 3am. The staff did move me to other side of the hotel for the remainder of my stay, but an entire night of not sleeping made this stay less than ideal.

Kudos to the excellent service level of the staff. Their hospitality makes one feel very welcome and comfortable.

It should be noted that the property is integrated into an old Chinese building. The resulting inclined slopes and stairs within the walkway suggest that it may not be so suitable for elderly. Additionally, my room faced a nightlife area and the noise may impact more sensitive guests.

Nevertheless, the service level of the staff was enough for me to still consider it an incredible stay.

This place is special. Being attached to an authentic heritage Chinese temple and with charming artifacts, this site is unique. I stayed here for a few days for a conference and wanted something central but easy to get around. The hotel is close to Telok Ayer and Raffles Place MRT stations. There are lots of eating and drinking options around - Lau Pa Sat food court is only a couple of blocks away. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served in a cafe behind the hotel, that offers several good options. The decor is a mix of traditional and modern. Room was small but well laid out, modern and clean.

It's a renovated building so the hallways have a very low ceiling, the floors are uneven even inside the room where you have a set of stairs to get to your tiny bathroom. It feels claustrophobic with windows in my unit facing an interior dead space with no fresh air. It's not designed as a hotel from the ground up so it's quite uncomfortable and has poor design. It seems overpriced as well. The breakfast is at a nearby restaurant that is unprepared to handle guests. I got a tea without sugar and eggs without salt and there is no way to get these basics without requesting them from a man that has 10 other customers to begin helping....

The hotel didn’t have a concierge. I chose the hotel because I wanted to book different sightseeing items, but since there wasn’t a concierge, I ended up walking around and finding things to do on my own. The breakfast restaurant choices weren’t the best, but at least breakfast was available.

Really cool historical building which connects to the nearby area for food and night life bars. Location is awesome since it's connected to that area and only a short walk away to the hawker markets. Only downside was my room didn't have any hot water going to it, but I survived anyways (didn't want to bother changing rooms) - then when it rained an insane amount one day one of the windows had a leak which went into the floor, but I didn't let it bother me and just put a towel there.

Amoy has mistakenly been described as \"quirky\", which usually means having some offbeat theme to distract from the scruffiness: none of that here.
\"Boutique\" is more accurate: unshowy, clean and comfortable, with a discrete charm and in a pleasant area.
If you like walking to get the \"vibe\" of this wonderful city, Amoy is better placed than the expense account hotels, between Gardens on the Bay, China Town, Raffles (if you must), Clarke Quay and (close by) Lau Pa Sat.
The staff are friendly (even showing you to your room on arrival), the A/C is good, the shower excellent, and the bed comfortable. No outside noise either, and BBC on the TV!
If you have the complimentary breakfast at Genius Central (right outside the inner entrance), you won't regret it - if you like your avocado smashed, here's the place.

This was the nicest, friendliest, and overall greatest experience for a hotel. I wanted something unique and AMOY was perfect. The staff was so friendly and helped us with luggage, accommodations, and recommendations. The hotel itself had such amazing history and decor, we couldn't stop commenting how neat it was. The location was fantastic, we were able to walk anywhere we wanted and nearby attractions. We also can't say enough amazing things about the healthy vegan restaurant connected downstairs - delicious and again a friendly staff. If you want something unique and top tier - give AMOY a try!

The Amoy Hotel is a unique experience in the centre of Singapore not far from the CBD and central historic area. The front of house provided a very warm welcome and were very helpful during my stay. I stayed in a small single room which was surprisingly spacious with good amenities. I also liked the fact that the included breakfast was taken at one of two cafes very close to the hotel. Loved this place and will go back.

A great, funky alternative to the standard hotels. Nestled in an historic quarter, this hotel is entered via a temple/museum, and is fitted out beautifully.
A expect a few more steps (perhaps not suitable for people with mobility impairments), but that is well worth the effort.
Great hospitality and service… nothing was too much trouble for the desk staff.
Would recommend as a better option to the generic hotels!

Jay and Nadyah were amazing at check in and check out. It was a quick stay for us since we’re moving through Southeast Asia for the next week and a half, but the hotel and staff made it amazing. Jay checked us in and gave us the best food recommendation. Nadyah check us out rapidly, had our breakfast ready to go and even called us a cab to take us to the airport. We look forward to coming back to AMOY by Far East at the end of our trip!

Stayed in Singapore for 24 hours to break up my flight to Sydney and my stay at AMOY was great! The staff were super friendly, the single room was perfect for my one night stay, and the location is good with lots of food and bars around. The included breakfast at Genius Central was also great with healthy - but delicious options. The staff also said that using a shower after you've checked out is available which was terrific after walking around all day in humid weather before boarding a 8 hour flight. Would definitely stay here again.

I had the incredible opportunity to stay at the AMOY Hotel by Far East Hospitality booked with Expedia. I do not have one bad thing to say about this hotel, it has everything you could ever want -- very friendly and helpful staff (they truly go above and beyond), situated in incredible location within a walkable distance of most tourist sites here in Singapore and right next to food spots, and it takes place in a restored historical building! The staff was truly incredible, I got TWO thank you notes (one handwritten), an arrangement of desserts, free tea when I checked in, and a personalized greeting every time I walked in and out of the door -- they were exceptional! If the location and quality of the accommodations did not speak for themselves here, the staff would have carried by entire endorsement of this hotel. I could not recommend this hotel enough; it is one of my favorites out of all my travels.

Wonderful stay! You're greeted with the friendliest and most personable staff, some Chinese tea and snacks. The rooms are uniquely decorated so you don't feel like it's the same old hotel experience. Truly, living in a former temple and museum gives you an added perspective to the history and development of Singapore. What you see in the photos on their website is what you get. There is no embellishment there. Returning to the staff - I felt like I was living with friends. They are true gems!

The Amoy hotel is a great hotel set in Chinatown and within a short walking distance to everything that is Chinese culture in Singapore. The rooms are on the small side but somehow felt very spacious and perfect for a single person. Bigger rooms are available but cannot comment on those as I didn't stay in one. The hotel is connected to a lively and happening night scene with multiple bars and restaurants to choose from making it easy to entertain yourself, your friends and your loved ones. Highly recommend giving it a try during your next stay in Singapore.

The AMOY staff treated us like family! They were unbelievably helpful with navigating the city, giving us ideas on things to do and places to see, calling a taxi, and explaining the amenities. The hotel is located right across the street from the MRT (subway), which is very clean, safe and easy to use. Plus they gave a short tour and history of the former Chinese Temple museum at the front entrance.

This is a unique boutique hotel squeezed into some heritage shophouses. The design is nice but the rooms are tiny and mine actually had a single bed which I didn't realise until entering. There are also many unexpected steps and corners between the room and elevator, so difficult for carrying heavy luggage (and people wiht mobility issues) but the staff helped on arrival which was nice and demonstrated good service.

Room ok for a one night staycation without luggage but not good for international travellers.

The hotel is simply the best. I loved the location, hotel staff and cleanliness, comfort of my bed, breakfasts at Henri's. There was another breakfast option included in my stay, at Genius Central, but I loved Henri so much that had no desire to check it out. Upon arrival I was greeted by Tina, she was also the one who remembered about my birthday several days later and brought a surprise cake. She was on duty when I was checking out and called the taxi for me. I hope to go back to Singapore soon and stay at AMOY again.

Loved the design of the hotel and how the modern design and how it acknowledges the history of the temple and the Chinese immigrants in the 1800's. There was even a small free tour available with the staff explaining the history (request at the front desk, at 4 pm) which was great. So that brings me to the amazing service. And then the location was outstanding - close to so many hawker stalls, restaurants, and there was lots of nightlife on the Friday and Saturday nights including loud DJ music closeby but amazingly quiet inside the room. Some staff were exceptionally friendly (not all, but they were all helpful). Also, the complimentary snacks and soft drinks, Nespresso, and special teas were great. Some minor inconveniences: there have preserved the idea of a raised threshold that a temple has (explained in the tour) but that also means that you can't roll luggage in easily and need to make a big step getting in and out of the Temok Ayer St. entrance. The other entrance is not one that a car can drive right up to - it's enclosed with restaurants. There are also a few steps here and there along the way to the room after the elevator, so if this is an issue, perhaps inquire about getting a room closer to the elevator? It was easy enough to find someone to help me lift my luggage when needed, but wish they could have a separate modern door to go around the threshold. Also, in different countries, the use of a face towel varies, and here I asked and was able to get it.
