On top of a karaoke bar. Surprisingly excellent soundproofing and no noise travelled to room! Staff were helpful and leaving luggage was easy. However room quality left something to be desired. Walls were a bit grimy, air-con had \"filter change needed\" message and the bed broke while I was sat on it! (Upon further inspection it was cheaply made and a slat fell out.

Cheap and did the trick, but \"nice\" might be an overstatement.

Room appeared to be clean, however, there was black mould on ceiling, also a small hole in ceiling that dripped water, just missing bed. Had no interaction with the staff, after check in. Don't know, didnt stay long enough to go shopping. Air conditioning unit was noisy, so had to turn off until it was to warm, so then turned back on to cool room. Room was sold as a Deluxe Queen room!! There was nothing Deluxe about to room!! Small with just enough room for bed with 2 side cabinets, wardrobe space!! Consisted of a 200mm deep frame on wall that had 3 hangers in!! No where to put case to open to retrieve clothes other than putting it on the bed. Loud live music from the bar, was very evident from the room, which went on until late. My room was on the 4th floor, but lift only goes to the 3rd floor!! And safety wise, there was only 2 rooms at this level in a dead end corridor only means of escape in an emergency was down to floor 3 to fire escapes? I booked this Hotel over 6 months ago, so expected to be given a decent room!! Not the room in the attic, very disappointed with hotel and Hotels.com. are these hotels vetted or inspected??

We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk when checking in. People had been waiting longer than that when we arrived, it appears they don’t pay much attention to guests.There’s a bar on the first floor and it gets very noisy at night, which is okay for people who want to drink and have their hotel room a few steps away. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet at night.

Great location, reasonable price for Singapore

This hotel is incredibly well located, especially if you’re interested in the cultural and historical parts of the city rather than the upscale and tall parts. We were minutes from Chinatown and its eats, shopping, and sights. We were a quick metro ride from Little India – don’t get me started on how easy and efficient Singapore’s metro system is. Our street was a color and interesting mishmash of really old buildings, temples, and some newer buildings – so many different cultures evident in the buildings and the passersby. We arrived late at night and our hotel, shockingly, was a bar – you literally check in at the backside of the bar. This sort of shabby, kind of quirky (the bird in the entrance hallway) three-room bar/restaurant proved to be one of the happeningnest spots in the whole neighborhood night after night, offering open-wall seating next to the sidewalk, a sports bar vibe in one room, a whiskey bar somewhere else, and maybe even karaoke. This ended up being a nice contrast to the capitalistic sterile vibe that characterizes much of Singpaore. I got real worried that it was going to be super loud in our room. It wasn’t at all – I think one night I could hear a distant murmur but nothing troubling – we also didn’t hear a lot of street noise. To be fair, we were the only room on the fourth floor – you take the elevator to the third and walk a up an additional stairway. Central to Chinatown in Singapore. A short three minute walk to Chinatown or Maxwell MRT which service different rail lines. Clean basic accommodation in a pub that has live music and a western cuisine restaurant. Pub runs 11am to 2am. but there was no disturbance from its operations in the residential areas. Admittedly we were not on the 2nd floor.

I paid more for this hotel than any other hotel on my four-country tour. This was absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at: the room was tiny, even smaller than the Vietnamese prison cell that I toured. The only good part is it’s pretty close to downtown and the MRT Chinatown station.

Unbelievably small rooms and backpackers-type of property. Not worth over AUD200 p.n.; closer to AUD40. Extremely disappointing. Rude and poor front desk. Had to pay hundreds more for second room, as the single room was barely large enough for a single traveller, let alone a couple. View of street, average location, no amenities except grotty pub. Hotel wouldn't even post me my USB charging cables that i left behind.

Health Hazard Hotel Stay

When I got there, they put me in a BLACK MOLDS INFESTED room that smelled indescribably disgusting and gave me headache & I felt like puking in just a matter of 5 minutes being inside that room.

The lady was so nice to transfer me to another room but on my 2 day, they started painting outside my door and the smell of the paint sipped in to my door and my whole room smelled like a paint factory, considering that there’s no window, I felt suffocated but I had to wear a mask because the thinner smell was ao terrible . I complained but they didn’t stop, they just put a plastic barrier and a fan so all the smell sipped in under my door. I told them to put tape outside my door but the very bad smell already sipped in my room.

I’ve been traveling around the globe but this is my first time to experience such a very health hazard condition of a hotel.

The room is small so it is best used for rest/sleep. But this is very appropriate because there are 5 star hotels, and inexpensive hawker/food halls for entertainment and dining, within walking distance.
There is no bath but the hot water shower is amazing.
May, at the front desk, is very resourceful and helpful.

- Location is good with walkable distance to metro & Chinatown market
- Bed is comfortable & bathrooms are decent

The Bad
- The reception is mostly empty & you will have a really hard time calling a person to the desk.
- Staff overall is quite lost & spent most time in the bar on the ground floor & no focus on the guests living in the hotel.

The Ugly
- Most rooms are in a very bad condition with bad smell & seepage in walls. I got my room changed twice.
- They promised to shift me to a window room for my 2nd night stay but never did it.
- There are no windows in room, you will not know whether its day or night.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here. You can get much better options for the same cost.

First room was mouldy, musky, damp, no air exhaust and loyd AC unit. Finally I was upgraded to room with window, working exhaust fans and slightly larger and it was bearable. They know they have humidity and lack of air movement so have large air purifiers they move around the rooms. Bar downstairs was awesome though!

Okay-ish for a budget hotel experience

It's a budget hotel, so fine if that's what you're expecting. Average service, condition, and amenties. The bathroom was poorly-detailed - the whole toilet/shower/sink is all together so water gets everywhere. Live music downstairs at the bar means an early bedtime isn't possible.

Musty, moldy smell permeated the room. Will cause asthma attacks. I avoided returning to the hotel room for as long as possible. The mirrors were scuffed, the toilet and trash can were under the shower head(?!!) so water got in the trash can when bathing—easy to move but still very illogical. No windows, had to carry luggage up to the fourth floor as elevator only went up to the 3rd. Avoid!

Only a bed, sink, bathroom, but decent comfort. Didn't like that the corridor that led into the rooms had windows that were opened and you could hear the street, but it was not a deal-breaker. Building work on the hotel went on from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Loud drilling and banging. Live music in the bar below went on until midnight. The combination of building work and music made it impossible to go to bed early or have a lay in, meaning that both my wife and I are extremely sleepy deprived. The hotel should provide advance warning of the works so that guests might choose somewhere alternative to stay.

The location was good: within walking distance of many of the main tourist sites and also the MRT from where you could access the whole island.

What I absolutely didn't like was that for 4 of the 8 nights I was there, the fire alarm constantly went off for extended periods of time in the middle of the night! This was very disruptive to sleep. And all 4 times were false alarms -- they only went off because someone opened an emergency exit. This was a ridiculous experience - you're supposed to get a good night's sleep at a hotel and even this simple requirement could not be met due to the super loud fire alarm ringing throughout the night, all for no reason.

And management did nothing to alleviate the problem. Ridiculous. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

Decent offer for a pricey country.

Hotels in Singapore aren't cheap so this hotel is good value and in a decent location (Chinatown).

One thing to note is that check out time is actually 11am however as this site has 12 noon the hotel did honour this as per my booking. Additionally, I did knock a star off because there's no fridge in the room . This is the first time I've travelled and no fridge in the room. There is adequate space for one under the table next to the bed so it meant you had to continually keep going out to get cold drinks / ice cups from the 7-eleven which was inconvenient.

All in all would prob stay again due to price point and location even knowing what I know.

This is the PERFECT location. Rooms are compact and clean, security is excellent, beds comfy, facilities good. The bar/restaurant is always busy and you can always meet a range of travellers there. Walking distance to Chinatown, hawker centers, artsy aeeas with great food options, MTR stations, Clark Quay. Very reasonably priced.

The room was small for a queen size bed. Missing a fee things usually provided, like a trash can in the room (only one in the bathroom), no body lotion. The bed was very good, good mattress, good sheet, good pillows. Very good location. This are often nobody at the reception, which is a miss for me, but when you ring, they come fast, but still, not a welcoming feeling.

The bed sheets weren’t big enough to cover the entirety of the mattress so it was pretty gross to see how stained the mattress was. Rooms are tiny, but that wasn’t an issue for us, we knew that when we booked!
I did wake up with two bug bites on my torso in a line, but my travel partner had none… do with that what you will.

The main reason I gave this less than five stars was because they lied about the gym. They don’t have a functioning gym and when I booked it, I was under the impression they did.

I also wish there were some stairs, but I guess there’s a lot of security in Singapore. I don’t think that’s a matter of their hotel. I think that’s just a Singapore thing.

Single room: Staff very helpful. Sleeping was Ok, internet acceptable. However, the smallest room I ever seen (8 sq. meter).. no \"smart\" solutions.. no space for my handbags (one small, one cabin-bag) in the room. A shelf over the TV would do. .

No real breakfast menu, (sausage, egg, garlic bread)?? Where is the simple & healthy alternative? Oatmeal & musli, yoghurt, lowfat milk, fruits or berries, and pure orange juice?

Promoting Italian beer, only! Heineken, Carlsberg and Tiger \"out of stock\" ... may be.. because they did not want to have it !
I found another place to eat, for all my meals.

If I book here again, the reason will the nice & helpful hotel-staff.

Rooms on level 4 are not safe, no emergency exit, no windows at level 4, very dirty hotel, no elevator for 4th floor. They never informed in the hotel description when you book. Even the room phone didn’t work. The worst hotel experience I have ever had. It may worth $1 per night not more.
