Good resort, facility maintained very well and clean. Plenty of parking space for guests. Kitchen was well equipped, we got everything that we wanted during our stay.
Daily towels, cleaning is not done. Some units have washer dryer in units. Else use the one in common floor.
Restaurant and market place was too expensive.

There are absolutely no ADA devices like hand rails next to any shower, tub or toilet as required by law. There are no non slip shower or tub floors (or stickers that accomplish the same thing), the toilets are so low that I honestly think you bought them on sale at a preschool closure. The hand rails into the spas were loose and swung around when you gripped them. There were broken and missing tiles surrounding the pool and spas that were a hazard. None of the piping hot water outlets into the pool or spas are marked or painted. They blend in totally as they’re the same color as the walls. We literally watched a three year old child receive second degree burns when he inadvertently waded by one of them. He screamed for twenty minutes and the staff were like “oh well, it’s a hot spring!” This was ridiculous!

Dinner was excellent, but a 3 1/2 hour ordeal. The dining room was overbooked, there were only 2 servers working the floor, and we waited 20 minutes for every request: drink menu after we were seated…water refill…ordering…desert…waiting for our check…it was INTERMINABLE!! In addition, there was a very large party that was allowed to drunkenly sing throughout their dinner while staff did nothing to shut them up.

Despite the cleanliness , the friendliness of staff and the gorgeous views, there is a definite sense of neglect and lack of consideration by management and/or owners for their customers safety and well being. I’ll NEVER stay here again.

My experience at the hotel was disappointing. During my stay, I used the swimming pool and left my clothes in a locker. Unfortunately, when I returned, my clothes had been stolen. This incident caused me a great deal of stress and made me feel that the hotel did not provide adequate security. As a result, I was not satisfied with my stay.

The property is nice and the location is pleasant, but the hotel feels old and could use significant updates. Some things were not working properly, including the shower fixture where you control the hot and cold water, which was loose and came out of place. Cleanliness could have been better.

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a living room. The living room TV was very small and very basic, even though it was a Smart TV. The bedroom TVs were also very small and appeared outdated, and did not seem to be Smart TVs. Overall, the place has potential, but several improvements are needed.

You just can’t beat the beautiful view from the balconies!
The room was clean but there was a small amount of dust on lamps and dressers. My biggest complaint is the Heating and air conditioning! Thermostats don’t really work so we had a terrible time keeping a comfortable temperature. The hot water In the rooms take 3-5 business days to get warm so there were a couple of very cool showers we had taken! Staff and overall atmosphere were terrific!

The room was nice but on a 5 night stay, They only changed the sheets and towels once and that was the second day. I remember how David Walley’s Hot Springs used to be a nice relaxing Hot Springs and Spa. Now it’s a cheap children’s water park. We couldn’t get near the hot springs because there was nearly 100 kids with little to no adult supervision running around at all hours taking up every pool. There at least should be an adults area or certain hours for adults only. We won’t be back.

Took us forever to get into a room. There were issues with door entry system into the room, that took staff an hour to figure out and had to find a different room for us. Front desk wasn’t clear about check out time and housekeeping walked in on us while we were still not dressed, and kept harassing us to leave. Overall, a bad experience. Won’t be coming back.

We had a group in the room next to us that was super loud woke us up at three in the morning the first that they arrived and then the following night woke us up at midnight 2 AM and 4 AM. We had to call security twice to have them, please be quiet as they were screaming, yelling, celebrating, and pounding very hard to sleep.

The room was fine. The queen studio is small. Everything was very clean. The kitchen in this style room is not a kitchen...it’s a sink, toaster, coffee maker and mini fridge. Parking was great. The food at the restaurant was great. The mineral hot tubs were the best part of the stay.

The carpet in my one bedroom was dirty it’s probably 100 years old , the AC wasn’t working i would out to 69 and my room was 78 every night I had to open the window to get some air , water pressure at night sometimes just didn’t work and towels were so rough I thought I scratch my face with it ,the entire place needs a do over , been there a couple of times I thought paying for a bigger room would be better but just realize that it won’t so not my kind of place , noise on my hallway last night . I am a local and decided on a staycation. The property is nice and the setting at the bottom of the mountains is beautiful. But I remember the Wallys Hot Springs where the pools were different temperatures with a thermometer telling each pool’s temp. These pools were NOT hot enough and they were all felt the same temp. I do not believe any were over 100 degrees. You know how when you get hot in a hot tub you have to sit out for a minute then get back in? 1. This doesn’t happen in these pools. It’s like tepid bath water that is pleasant, but doesn’t do the trick. It’s more like a warmed swimming pool. I overheard at least three other visitors say the same thing…that the water wasn’t warm enough.

This was one of my worst stays ever! We have been coming here for years, around 10 years now ( multiple times a year) and this was by far the worst. We were given a dirty, rat infested, beat down, disabled 1 bedroom room. I was horrified after finding a dead rat right under my bed !! It was visible that the room has not been taken care of for a long time!

The photos of the property do it no justice. The rooms were clean, nicely arranged, spacious and comfy. The staff was attentive and quick to respond. Above all though the hot springs pools were so serene and healing and relaxing. We will definitely be back.
The only criticisms would be that they need to move that trash can next to the trailhead behind the bench. It completely ruins the beauty of sitting there with a big nasty trash can. Also empty that one more often. Aside from that very small criticism I would say that the stay was perfect.

The wetland behind the property was unique, peaceful and fascinating. The room was slightly dated but comfortable and adequately furnished. The pools needed better care and cleaning. Parking was easy and close to the bulidings. Check and check out in went well. There was very little pressure to attend the timeshare presentation which was refreshing. We stayed in a two bedroom two bathroom suite. Turned out to be two hotel rooms with a common door which was fine, but not the separate unit I was imagining. We liked the hot/mineral spring pools which were a series of small hot tub type pools in one area of the property, separate from the main pool. It was fairly crowded, though we were there on a holiday weekend, and mostly clean. Attendants were friendly. The marketplace was underwhelming, more like a hotel minimart. There was a restaurant that people in our group tried and said was good. I didn't realize there would be a timeshare pitch at check in. Overall, it was fine, but more of a higher end economy property instead of a nicer resort.

It's an older property and it shows it, feels like an 80's ski resort that's not been updated. Comfortable enough but overpriced for what it is and be aware they try and sell you time share options even calling the room after you've shown no interest at check-in. It's aimed at families, probably fine for them but wouldn't recommend for couples.
It's not a terrible resort but just OK and kind of overpriced for what it is.

Overall the location was good and the staff members were very pleasant. Initially we couldn't get into our room; keycards clicked but door wouldn't open. We called for help and after 10 minutes made a 2nd call. Someone from the front desk came but couldn't get the door open either. Maintenance finally arrived and got it open. We had to call again to get hand towels and washcloths, which were promptly delivered. The room was fine, although dated and the screen door came off the track when opened. The exterior hallway had large cracks and holes. The restaurant was okay but service was pretty slow.

I had a good stay at the David Walley. While the decor of the room was not flashy and new, it was in good condition and clean overall. I would describe it as 2000s fancy. My only complaint is that the screen door in the balcony did not completely shut. The hot spring was nice with 7 hot tubs-sized pools to choose from and did not overtly smell like sulfur. I was hoping the water would be pumped into the pools naturally hot from the hot spring, but I think they are heated. It's a nice drive over the mountains to Lake Tahoe too. Overall, great value and I would recommend it.

Left early next day since I was in business, came back around 8pm to find out my room was locked it was about 20 degree outside, had to walk long to the front desk to fix issue, they never told me I had to check-in again as it was a “partial check-in”. Now this resort is a timeshare but you can also booked it through a travel site if you are not a timeshare holder. The room was very clean, gave us towels for the hot springs; even though the front desk told us there was no towels in the room and can get it from the front desk, or bring your own; mostly recommend bringing your own! The hot springs tubs and pool was dirty only because it’s outside and trees were around it. The restaurant was good on certain foods are good; we had the poppers was okay didn’t like the brisket on top,”tasted horrible,” pizza was amazing, and the filet mignon was amazing. But it’s your choice on the food. It is close to Gardnerville and South Lake Tahoe. It’s a great little vacation for local’s like us. Do recommend.

It was a very nice resort. I enjoyed my brief stay. I would love to stay again, when I have more time. The only thing I would suggest is that the room numbers be painted a light color. The wood on the doors is dark and you cannot see them in the dark until you get up super close.
