The room was clean but the room had no air conditioning and the light switch turned off and on the microwave, we had a swap cooler and a fan in the room spiderwebs on the stairs to the room and a lot of pollen on the path to the room the door of my room had pigeon poo.

No A/C. It showed you could turn on the cooler, but it wouldn’t turn on. The office was closed when I realized it last night. I turned it on but my thermostat showed the temperature as: 79 degrees before I went to bed. I opened the window & had to leave it open all night. I didn’t like doing that, as I was traveling alone & on 1st floor. Pool’s covered w/ no water in it. Employee did not give the WiFi code, even though they had WiFi. He did give discount tickets for private beach. He also didn’t offer a free upgrade. A lot of properties will, given that I’m a Platinum Expedia member. Back of door in room very dirty. The phone isn’t working in the room either. Was disappointed by several things at this property, but it wasn’t terrible. Just a lot of room for improvement. Front desk mentioned the owner watches surveillance video monitoring of property (kind of creepy), so no working phones, no A/C, no pool, no WiFi code, but the owner makes sure there’s a ton on surveillance. Got it. -Seems like the priorities are off here. Lastly the lights in the room are all VERY bright, and dimmers on lights in the room. -No lamps on nightstands. Overall the rate was fair, $104, I believe. However, the taxes/fees were @ $80. They charge a $60 resort fee, when the place DEFINITELY wasn’t a resort. I find that laughable. Fees make the room nearly twice the price. Definitely overpriced, given that. $100 deposit is also expected.

We booked The Ambassador through Expedia and had a great experience. The place was extremely clean, comfortable, and very well kept. It made our stay in Lake Tahoe relaxing and easy. The rooms were nice, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything felt well taken care of. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable place during your trip. Everything was walking distance

We booked a room at this hotel 2/7/26. Room 102. While the place was clean, and a comfortable room which we thought we would stay at again. The night held a different story. An intermittent loud noise like someone dropping a deadweight was horrible throughout the night. We could hear the conversation starting at 5 am in the room next door as if they were in our room. The noises against the wall from the loud boom and the lack of insulation created a very horrible nights sleep.
It was a huge disappointment and I am requesting a refund for our stay. If there was a way to cancel that $65 resort fee at checkout I would have.

Clean room, friendly staff, and great location. It's walking distance to Heavenly Ski resort, to restaurants, and to shops in the main street of Lake Tahoe. It's also walking distance to the Casinos. The only complain I have is that the walls are very thin - we can hear the people talking in the other room. We just got lucky that they weren't partying during our stay.

My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. From the first night, it was impossible to rest due to constant noise, and the curtains did not block out the light, making it very difficult to sleep properly.
We traveled during winter, with snow, and the heater took far too long to start working, which made the stay very uncomfortable, especially at night.
There were five of us staying for four nights and five days, and we were provided with only one roll of toilet paper, which is completely unacceptable.

The room was clean and updated but, the heating system is SO loud when it kicks on there is no way to sleep through that noise. They need to update the system. Also, the light outside of my room was so bright it lit up my room. There are only blinds on the window, no blackout curtains! They need to put these in the rooms.

We liked the location, the room was insulated, everything was very clean and comfortable. However, the neighbors were so noisy and you felt like you were in their room with them. We also had a broken thermostat and the larger of the two windows would not open. Everything else about the room was great. It felt safe, clean, and I would stay there again, but make sure we had a room with a working thermostat, less neighbors, and windows that opened.

The check in process was basic. The staff member at the front desk was kind and professional. The front desk is not open 24hr. The room was basic. Nothing fancy. Beds were comfortable enough to sleep. The hotel was a close walk to the casinos.
The only negative about the room was how dirty the floor was. I had on a pair of white socks the entire time I was in the room. When we left in the morning, I actually just threw the socks away because they were so black on the bottom. If it had not been for the cheap price at the time I booked, I would say I would not stay here again.

$25 for parking in a Motel with a big empty lot - no way. The hotel was less than 20% full and they put a family with screaming children who bounced between the beds and walls all night right over us. Recently renvated so now its like a cheap white hospital room. No comforter, only a gross old fleece blanket. The teeny friege was placed in a cabinet made for a medium fridge and it didnt even fit a bottle of champagne standing up in it.

There’s a $25 parking fee and a $30 “resort fee” upon check-in, which was not mentioned on Expedia when booking. Not sure what a resort fee covers at a motel with a closed pool/spa and no WiFi in the rooms. The floor in the room was very obviously not vacuumed and the blanket on the bed was crusty. There’s plenty of other cheap motels in Stateline, don’t waste your time with this one.

The portable heater, we got from the gentleman whom did the check in, only work for a couple of hours. Also, there is a big gap underneath of the main door. We got a free pass for a private beach which was only a 5 minute walk. I booked through a 3rd party for 2 nights and I got a call from the front office stating that check out was at 11am and that my things were inside the room still. There has been a change in management. Last year's stay at exactly this time for the exact same length which was one week, cost us $450. This year it was $1,205. Maria the hotel manager said it was because we went through hotels.com. I went through hotels.com last year. The place is really run down. She said they hadn't been paying the cable bill so we only had two channels, if that. The faucet leaked, the thermostat was broken, the room decor was extremely outdated. Our key to the ice machine room did not work. The vending machine had a note on it that said see office for snacks. The staff leaves at 2 p.m. plus they were closed on Wednesday and Thursday and Saturday. The note taped to the office door gave an emergency number and a personal number. When we tried both those numbers, we never got a response. We did not want maid service, but they came one day anyway and took a bag of my personal wash rags that I had brought. I left a message for the manager and she never got back to me. With the Renaissance Festival and America's Most Beautiful Bike ride going on at this time, the rooms should be completely full. The parking lot had maybe 10 cars in it for this busy weekend. The website advertised a swimming pool, which had no water in it. Outside, the garbage cans needed to be emptied, and ashtrays were full and overflowing. This is our fourth year in a row that we have stayed here. This year's stay was so unsatisfactory that we will not come back to Ambassador Motor Lodge.

Terrible stay. I'm a very understanding person when it comes to the service industry. But when I had use coffee stirrers to plug a hole on the the shower head in order for my son to take a shower it did it for me. Unless you have absolutely NO OTHER OPTION spend your money some where else. By the looks of it.... it's being run down until unsafe to occupy. Not sure how any website can list it.

Terrible room was dirty and out dated, i wouldn't mind it being outdated but it was dirty and not maintained. It said there was a continental breakfast but there isn't. When we when to eat breakfast the first morning the office was locked and no one was there. The sigh said they would be back at 9:30am way past the time we needed to eat, so we had to drive into town and find breakfast for ower selfs. This completely ruins the good peice of the motel. On top of that there is a big whole in the carpet and the bathroom was trashed, trim missing and broken around the door, toilet rain all the time didnt stop, the shower dripped all the time and mold was growing on the bathroom floor. The curtains didn't blackout any light. Location was good but would never book again.

Lobby is only open 9-7pm. I didn't realize this until we got there at 8:30pm and weren't sure how to check in. I had a bit of a panic attack until we noticed the note they left, telling us how to check in (phew). We checked out before 9 the next day so we ended up never seeing the staff... We also couldn't find their breakfast (I'm guessing it starts at 9, when the lobby opens). The room was decent though. It could use some updating, but it was very clean and practical. Bed was a little uncomfortable but was ok (also acknowledging the price). Convenient location close to South lake Tahoe / Heavenly, though it's still a bit of a walk if you're planning to go to the gondola in your snow gear.
