Our stay at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and committed to making our visit memorable.

One of the biggest highlights of the property is its unbeatable location. The resort is just steps from the Heavenly Mountain gondola, Heavenly Village, shopping, dining, casinos, and the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe, making it easy to enjoy everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer.

The all suite accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Having a separate living area made the room feel more like a luxury retreat than a standard hotel room.

We especially loved the indoor heated pool and hot tub, which were perfect for unwinding in the evenings. The resort also offers several on site dining options and bars, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere without ever having to leave the property.

The resort beautifully combines a laid back island vibe with Lake Tahoe’s mountain scenery. Between the live music, fire pits, family friendly activities, and convenient amenities, there was always something enjoyable to do.

Overall, Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe exceeded our expectations. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting South Lake Tahoe!

We brought our two toddlers for a quick family trip. We love the indoor pool! They do a movie there each night for kids and while our girls are still too small for that, I thought it was a fun activity. We loved the koi ponds and the lobby is perfect to sit and relax. You can grab drinks at the bar and enjoy them in the lobby. We ate at the restaurant and cafe and both were decent. It’s within walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. We love the location. Easy access to the casinos if you’re looking for that too. The rooms are large and having the living space separate from the bedroom is great for a family. We’ve stayed here before and will be back again!

The bathroom toiletries, including shampoo, liquid soaps, and conditioner, are empty, and they haven’t been refilled since the previous day. There’s no microwave in the room, and there’s no complimentary water. The coffee maker is not working properly. The door design is also problematic; if it’s open, you might bump into other doors because they’ll block your way. There’s no free parking; only valet service is available.

Our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff who checked us in were unfriendly and came across as rude. The room did not include a microwave, and after multiple requests and discussions, one was eventually provided; however, it appeared to be a very low-quality unit.

The room also had a strong, unpleasant odor, which forced us to keep the door open for ventilation. In addition, the room remained uncomfortably warm even with the air conditioning thermostat set to its lowest temperature.

Considering we paid more than $900 for a three-night stay, it was frustrating to see such a lack of basic amenities and attention to guest comfort. The overall experience fell well below our expectations for the price.

Excellent location, nice rooms and right in the village! The only downside is it is valet parking only, so we parked in the Harrah's parking lot behind the hotel for 35$ and took the very short walk to the hotel. Worth the hassle though!

Our suite was spacious, spotlessly clean, and gave us plenty of space to relax. The tropical decor, complete with a parrot fly-by theme, brought a fun energy to the mountains.
We loved the central location—we were able to walk straight to the Heavenly Village gondola and nearby shops. We can’t wait to come back!

Pros: Rooms are clean and very large.

Cons: We travel often with our small dog and chose this hotel because they advertise themselves as “one of the most pet friendly hotels in South Lake Tahoe”. They charge a $75/night per fee, however, we were not provided with any of the advertised pet amenities (pet bed, bowls, treats, bandana, etc).

We were also supposed to receive 2 free drinks for having Expedia VIP status, however, we also didn’t received that.

Excellent location. Heavenly village and restaurants are at a walking distance - some really good places to have a relaxing lunch/dinner with live music.

Very helpful staff, clean room and good options for breakfast. A caveat that surprised us was buffet breakfast is only available on weekends. Weekdays is ala carte with packages (omlette package contains choice of omlette, juice/coffee, housemade potatoes). This is not mentioned anywhere unless you land up at the entrance of the cafe where the host to our surprise mentioned it. You can either chose to venture outside for breakfast or as we chose to eat their anyways (with a kid + avoid morning hassle).

Everything is extra $$. You want a drink (in buffet breakfast) extra $10, valet parking (is the only option) $50/day. All this without a complimentary drink (unless you go and ask at the front desk)

Overall, I would say the experience was good primarily b/c of the location and staff. Beware of additional charges though.

Unfortunately my review stands from finding toe nail creeping in the pull out bed in the sofa and the vents in the restroom filled with dusked as well as the lamps around the bedroom area. It took 3x occasions after speaking with the front desk to have someone come to clean and still failed to clean the restroom vents.

We stayed here one year ago and had a great experience. We decided to come back again because it was so comfortable, and a familiar place to stay while we explored Tahoe again. The positives include: great beds and bedding, nicely renovated rooms, fun ambiance, pool and spa, gym, and super quiet rooms (very little outside noise can be heard.) So, if getting a good night’s sleep is the most important thing to you I would recommend spending the extra money to stay here. The most negative thing to me personally was the valet parking ONLY (no mention of this before you arrive.) It’s pretty expensive if you’re staying more than one night. It was $50 per night for us on top of our $500 two night stay. We’re obviously not familiar with the area so we don’t know if you can park somewhere else nearby without the risk of a tow away. Also, to walk all the way back to a hotel you’re already spending a lot on with a very young baby would’ve been very impractical. We were rushed when we first arrived at valet and treated a bit rudely by the staff. They wanted us to move fast and unload our things or find someplace else to park but offered no help. Not so easy with a 5 month old baby, and we felt stressed out before we even checked in. The other negative part was that our room toilet stopped working at 10pm. Overall, the staff seemed like mostly nice, helpful people but a few weren’t. We probably won’t stay here again, but maybe you’ll have a better experience than us. Best wishes.

Stayed 3 nights and never had housekeeping replenish the towels/ refresh the room which was disappointing. I was also bummed that valet parking is the only option unless you self park at Harrah’s. It was $50 a night and somewhat inconvenient not having easy access to our car. It was also disappointing paying the resort fee given lack of amenities in comparison to a regular hotel. Room upgrade was nice given Gold status but likely won’t stay again.

Hotel is very clean room is clean daily they will clean it if you don't put the sign out front door they will refill your water there is ice on my floor and also on the highest floor there is a washer and a dryer which cost 5.5 and 4 respectively you get free cookie at the front desk however it's not consistent as a Expedia silver member I get $25 credit to use every day on food and drink and a free cocktail from the bar which is great so if you're a high level Expedia member you can take benefit from that they also have a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi make sure to take advantage of that the button is on the wall

We were surprised that this resort that we used to stay back in the days is now called Margaritaville Resort. We always like the roomy place; big space for a living room and a separate room for bedroom. The resort is newly renovated and very nice! This resort is good for family traveling with kids. Convenient to casinos and heavenly place for gondola rides. Lots of places to eat. This is our place to stay whenever we go to Lake Tahoe even when this was not called Margaritaville Resort yet. We will come back again!

hi when i checked in, there was no hot water, and even a call to the front desk asked to continue run the hot water for 10-15mins. I did so and still no hot water. I have requested for a room change. However, when I requested for an earlier room cleaning, only the bathroom towels were replaced, nothing else. Overall, it was not a pleasant staying experience. I would say the chances for next stay is low with this chain.

If location is your top priority, you cannot beat this property.
Prime Spotting: It sits right on Lake Tahoe Boulevard in the heart of South Lake Tahoe.
Walkability: You are a mere 5-minute walk to the Heavenly Village Gondola and the shops, and less than a 5-minute walk to the Stateline casinos (Harrah's, Caesars, and Bally's).

The place is nice enough, with the expected references to Jimmy Buffet, but my issues began with the check in. I expected to pay the typical “resort fee”but I was also informed of the $40 valet parking. I was told I could park next door at Harrah’s, but there was a 2 hour limit, etc. Besides that, there was no receipt to show me what my $122.10 was for.
In the room, there is a hole in the sheet, the bed was sloppily made and there was a scrap of paper behind the night stand, of which I took pictures.
When we checked out, I was informed a receipt would be sent to me by noon, which I have yet to see.
Jimmy must be turning in his grave.

Loved this hotel and the staff were the most pleasant and helpful staff I’ve come across. The buffet breakfast (not included) was delicious! Resort is beautiful! Pool and hot tub are indoors which is so nice in Tahoe where it’s cold more than it’s hot. Room was great. Live music in lobby in the evenings (nothing loud and obnioux). Will definitely stay here again (and possibly only here).

I stayed at this resort when it was Embassy Suites, other than a refresh, which for the most part was ok, it still resembles the old resort. Our room was ok, it wasn’t cleaned properly, the heater wouldn’t turn off automatically, so it ran constantly. The selection of the coffee was pretty disappointing. In addition the toilet tissue and tissue were like sandpaper. The drinks were good with one bartender and horrible with the second one. For us it was an overnight trip to get away, but I wouldn’t stay here long term and I would bring my own toilet tissue.

We enjoyed our stay at Margaritaville! We got 12 inches of snow while visiting and enjoyed every minute of it! The valet told my daughter he had sleds in the parking garage and when it started snowing he took us down and had us pick out a sled to use! He told us to keep it! We ended up passing the two sleds to someone with children when we were on our way out so it was perfect! Rooms were clean and staff was super helpful and friendly.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The pool felt like you were bathing in straight chlorine—the smell was unbearable and it burned my eyes almost immediately.
They charge for everything. There is no regular parking available, only valet, and it was extremely overpriced. On top of that, there were extra hidden fees that were never clearly explained.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and for the most part, my experience was excellent. Check-in was smooth, the staff throughout my stay were friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere was very comfortable.
Unfortunately, my good experience took a turn when it came time to retrieve my car from valet parking — which happens to be the only parking option at the hotel. After requesting my car, I waited quite a long time, checking with several employees and even speaking with a manager more than once. Eventually, I learned that my car key had been lost.
It took over two hours of waiting and working with both the hotel manager and the valet department manager before a locksmith was called to make a replacement key. This unexpected delay caused me to leave much later than planned. I was trying to beat an incoming snowstorm at the summit but ended up getting caught in it, having to purchase tire chains and pay for installation and removal — all of which could have been avoided if my key had not been misplaced in the first place.
I really appreciated how the managers ultimately helped resolve the issue, but the experience greatly affected my departure and travel plans. I hope the hotel reviews and improves its valet procedures so that this doesn’t happen to future guests.

Margaritaville (which used to be the old Embassy Suites) was a good place to stay before our daughter’s cheer competition at the event center. The girl at the desk who checked us in was a little short with me when I asked about self parking versus valet. You can either pay $40 to valet with them or drive behind Harrah’s and park overnight there for $20.

The room was set up a little like a “motel indoors” as each room had a window. I was concerned there would be excessive noise but it was incredibly quiet on the 8th floor. The room was clean although the tables were a little scratched and looked worn. Amenities were fine: hairdryer, towels, good water pressure for the shower which was appreciated. The indoor pool is small but our child appreciated being able to splash around and liked that they played a movie around 6pm for the kids to enjoy while being in the pool.

We had breakfast the next morning and the staff there was EXCELLENT. A little pricey but there was a good selection to choose from. Overall, a very nice place to stay. License to Chill Bar was cute. The other restaurants were either not open or not open while we were awake so we went elsewhere for dinner.

Resort fees and the valet parking are really my only 2 complaints. They’re both on the high side in relation to the amenities provided. Would stay here again but might look at other options closer to the event center in the future if the price is better with lower fees and self parking.
