I very much like this place it's a good price for the room that I have rented twice in the past year and it's close to everything not much interaction with the staff just the check in and check out which have never had issues with I will be staying here for upcoming stays

We booked a 2 bedroom suite MONTHS in advance and when we arrived they only had a 1 bedroom suite available for us. What's the point of booking a room in advance if they don't actually reserve it for you? There were no soaps, no shampoos, and no extra pillows or sheets for the fold out couch. The coffee maker was clean but there were no filters (we brought our own coffee). There are two TV's and only one remote, the TV cord was coming out of a hole in the wall plugged into an extension cord that was plugged into an outlet and the smoke detector in the entry room was ripped off of the roof leaving exposed wires and put in a drawer.

The positives were that the a/c and heat worked very well, there were no strange smells, shower was hot (we brought our own scent-free shampoo and soap), and the 1 bed we did get was comfortable.

If you're just looking for a place to sleep it wasn't all bad (if we both had beds) but anything more than that I'd look elsewhere.

no greeting/welcome upon checkin. Had to talk thru a walkup nite window. Not allowed inside. he asked for ID and gave me room key. I had to ask where on the property it was located. no battery in remote for tv. signal not always good for tv. when housekeeping came by they only emptied trash in kitchen. No where else. Towels /wash cloths had brown stains. On the trim to closet by tube looked like someone has a cut and got blood on wall. NOTIHING is supplied in kitchen. Paper towels would have been nice (for spills) there is a coffee maker and small microwave. We were to be there 3 nites but checked out day early. When I checked out he did not even ask how our stay was. I said we were checking out early and his response was ok. For individuals needing small studio for extended time and have their own kitchen supplies it probably would work. I didn't care for the pay ahead and nothing is refundable or that you can not book direct. Seems management wants as little contact with public as they can.

Location is great and staff was friendly. Floors were not cleaned adequately. There were dead small bugs and hair on the sheet covering the box spring, and bed skirts were not very clean. The mattress covers were stained and should have been replaced. Bathroom sink was clogged. Some of these items were addressed by staff.

The room has a kitchenette but zero pots, pans, utensils, can opener, etc. You have to bring everything.

This is not a pet friendly hotel. We have a service dog but we’re told that this is a no pet hotel. Having said that, they did not hassle us since we presented the service dog documentation.

We stayed at this hotel before with no real issues other than un-equipped kitchenette. I hope this was a one time issue.

Location: Room 118. 10-15 minutes away from South Padre Island.
Pros: The king sized bed was comfortable and clean. The fridge seemed to be new and clean. Spacious room. Cheaper than most hotels on South Padre Island.
Cons: The stovetop had foil under the burners. Although it came with a full kitchen, no pots or pans, or even mugs were provided. The floors were not cleaned well. The room had a smell. The bathroom sink was clogged and wouldn’t fully drain. The shower pressure was low. Only a select few of the TV channels worked. The inn seemed more like an extended stay than somewhere I’d want to be while on vacation.

If you can get past that and just need somewhere to sleep for cheaper than nearby hotels, then there you have it.

And towels were very scratchy. Also arrived was meet with a angry customer in front of me & i think the staff was really not handling it very well. Also ac was set of 64 it was freezing.

Disappointing Stay – Poor Service and Cleanliness

This place was a big letdown. The photos online looked nice, but the actual room was nothing like them. After accidentally spilling water on the bed, I asked for extra blankets and was told none were available. The front desk staff was rude and made no effort to help. We tried using the sofa bed, but it had no sheets and the mattress was stained. Again, we were told there were no clean sheets because they had run out.

There were also no clean towels or basic toiletries, and to make things worse, there was leftover food in the oven—clearly the room wasn’t properly cleaned. The only positive was the location, close to H-E-B and Walmart. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the poor service and lack of cleanliness. I would not stay here again or recommend it.

I ask the owner if the rooms could be next to each other, since we had a elderly person with us and his answers was No in a very rude maner. that he was not going to move other guess at that time he was shouting at me. Port Isla Inn spacious rooms are like a one bedroom apartment. The rooms are clean, has a comfortable bed. Full kitchen with a dining table and living room. The complex is quiet and safe. Very convenient for shopping and dining. The room rate is very good. I would recommend.

Really bad experience. Countertop had not been cleaned. It had a lot of sticky stains of something.
There were broken glass in the couch. All cabinet doors you touched felt sticky and gross.
The kitchen had no pots, pans or kitchenware. Cabinets where completely empty. How should a guest make food without any kitchenware. The owner said I should just go buy some.
Can not recommend booking this Hotel.
This Hotel should have a WARNING label.

Love that it offered 2 \"rooms\" for sleeping arrangements. Towels needed to be upgraded. They were basically just rags. Cleanliness felt like someone just went in and out in under 5 minutes, though at least the bed linens were clean. Needs to have access to mop and broom so that guests could keep floors clean.

I read the reviews before checking in so I kind of knew what to expect. Our room was not that clean and we had to cleaned it ourselves when we got there. The bed was really hard so I had a hard time sleeping. The plus side was that South Padre Island was only about 10 minutes away. Having a kitchen was great. We were able to cook to save money. Overall the stay was okay. I got what I paid for.

We booked a 2 night stay here. We bookked because they advertized having a full kitchen. We arrived to find nothing in the kitchen. No plates, pot, pans, flatwear, not cup or glasses. There was a dirty microwave and a rusty refridgerator. No dish towels, tissue or soap. We could feel dirt on the floor when we took our shoes off. This place had not been cleaned in a long time. Dust bunnies in all the corners. The bed was comfortable. That is it. Do not book this place. I spoke to another client and they reported the same issues with their room. Hotels.com needs o remove this place off their web site.

Had one roll of toilet paper, kids asked front desk to swap out towels after using 2 at the pool. They were told there were enough towels in the room. Hair dryer was burnt & melted, room phone and alarm clock did not work. We found an old Whataburger Apple pie in the dresser drawer. Pull out bed was extremely filthy.

First off - it was perfect for what I needed. A short trip to see Starship only requires a crash pad for the nighttime hours and this fulfilled that need perfectly. Cheap, simple and covers the bases.

What it lacks in fancy spaces, it makes up for in spaciousness. Couldn't believe how much room I got for $65/night - living room, kitchen, dining nook, bedroom, bathroom and closet. Fantastic for a traveling photographer. Tons of parking so the car was right in front of my room. And H-E-B right down the street? Yes, please.

Front desk manager was dry and to the point, but quick and effective at remedying any issues. Custodial staff was friendly and showed up with extra blankets and a smile.

If you just need something basic to get you through a couple of nights while you're out adventuring, this is perfect!

This was our second year in a row staying here during our nilgai hunt. The couple that runs the place are friendly and accommodating. Parking is easy and seems safe. Our room fit three of us and our pretty comfortably. The sofa sleeper is very uncomfortable as you might expect of a sofa sleeper so make sure you bring a bed mat. Walmart and HEB are across the street and plenty of food options around. You can also walk just a few blocks to the water, which is nice. We’ll keep staying here.

Room smelled like cigarette smoke, sofa bed had no bed liner or blankets at all. The tv needs to be upgraded because more than half the channels display a not compatible message and you only hear the sound. Lobby is always locked and have to use outside window, only three towels in room even though we had reserved for 5 guest. The bed was comfortable and the pool was good.

My only complaint is that the door handle on the door to get in the room wasn’t in the best condition. If we did not deadbolt the door, it was able to be opened from the outside without a key. We also had someone yell at us to close our front door when we were grabbing the key and walking out. Otherwise the staff seemed friendly. There wasn’t much interaction. They stopped in daily to drop off towels and toilet paper. Checking in and out was very easy. The motel was clean and was a good place to stay for 4 days. I will most likely be staying here again.

I needed a simple, decent place to stay for a good price, that had pay later option and this was it. The rooms are dated which is to be expected, but clean. I didn't see any critters or anything gross that would keep me from coming back. It was weird that they only have a little window to check-in and you can't enter the office, but that was fine with me. It just made me skeptical about the surrounding area, but I had no issues. The door knob to the r.r. did not lock, but not too much of a big deal for me. Door handle to the bedroom was a little loose, but also not a problem as it still did function. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, the lady at the check-in window was friendly. I would stay there again for my next visit to SPI.
