Highly recommended for a Malta getaway! The location is perfect, the staff are genuinely welcoming, and both the breakfast and spa facilities are top-notch.
Just a heads-up: the soundproofing isn't the best (you can hear the street and corridors), and the bathroom had a bit of a drainage odour at times. However, the hospitality more than made up for it. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely amazing stay at this Marriott resort. It was my son’s 13th birthday and they went out of their way to make him feel special. In addition the staff all around was amazing and took great care of us. Highly recommend staying here.

I had a fantastic stay at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa. The room was spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful details that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The spa was a standout — peaceful, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding.

One of my favorite features was the rooftop area, which offers beautiful views and a great atmosphere, especially around sunset. The location in St. Julian’s is ideal: close to restaurants, shops, and the waterfront, while still feeling calm and upscale.

Overall, this hotel strikes a great balance between luxury, comfort, and location. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malta.

The Marriott Malta was well situated for my birthday getaway trip. I easily walked the promenade to Sliema and the restaurants and shops of St Julian’s. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived, and the attention to guest comfort was always on display. The staff at the Marketplace restaurant where I had breakfast daily was phenomenal. Special shout out to Sanju the Manager, Anthony and the rest of the team for the birthday toast and treat. Top Notch! While I did not like the first room I was assigned as it didn’t align with the room type I purchased, the receptionist easily and efficiently resolved it and I was pleased. The Mika Spa was simply divine and I enjoyed all my services there, especially the Hammam Treatnebt…I highly recommend it. Thanks to Rose, Eve, Anju, Magda, Janet for delivering exceptional service. Thank you to the staff for making my Birthday trip enjoyable and memorable!!

The room was great, amenities were fabulous, the staff were amazing, from Ruth who checked us in the night we arrived, to the bartender who made one of the best espresso martinis I had the pleasure of drinking. The bartender was also working at the rooftop pool bar the following day and made a special birthday cocktail for me. I wish I remembered his name. Anthony at breakfast always took care of us and made sure to check in us and offer insight on where to go and how to get there. The concierge who was very patient and called around to make bookings for my birthday dinner at the last minute. Thank you to the staff at the resort for making sure I had cake on my birthday. You were super.

My only downside was the toilet door being very difficult to open. We got stuck a few times. But the overall experience was amazing.

Amazing stay at the hotel for 5 days! Travelled as a family with young children. The rooms are spotless and the service was amazing from first night to check out. Staff were very professional and welcoming and made the children feel at home.
Breakfast buffet was fabulous with many choices available from made to order omelette to many other choices. Eliana at the breakfast time was amazing, kids were looking for her each morning. Overall location, comfort and the beautiful heated pools made the hotel stand out in the true 5 star service it offered.
Malta was beautiful and hope to come back again.

Nice hotel and the recent refurb seems to be good. The toilet in the room was separate from the bathroom, which is nice, but was in a tiny space...Other than that it was a good sized, nicely done room.
All the staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine, good range, nice bread.
I like the little spa place which seem to remain quiet enough - so that little pool was quite chilled.
Parking is convenient and easy.
All in - we liked the hotel, would be happy to use it again.

The short response to our stay at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa is simply \"Wonderful\".

The those wanting more detail: My wife and I stayed for 7 nights, half board, 11-18 October 2025, booked as a package through Expedia. The check-in process was professional and courteous, something common to every member of the hotel staff. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean (as was the whole hotel). New bottled water was refreshed every morning and evening, and a lovely touch was the nightly turn down service (who can say no to a chocolate on your bed!).

The Hotel has two outside pools both with a bar serving food and hot and cold drinks. The real bonus is the spa which we had full use of, and paid for a 55 minute treatment which was well worth the extra payment.

Each evening we ate in the main restaurant, either inside or out on the veranda with a view over St Julians Bay. The menu provided a wide choice and we were free to pick whatever took our fancy. The breakfast was served in the \"marketplace\" restaurant with an extensive range on offer to suit every possible taste, definitely spoilt for choice! All staff members were great, but Sandhu at breakfast did standout as \"exceptional\".

All in all, we had a great holiday in Malta, and staying at the Marriott Resort & Spa played a large part in ensuring that was the case. Great staff, facilities, food and location.

Pool View? I think not.

We had an excellent 5 day break at the Malta Marriott. The rooftop pool and the spa are really well appointed as was the bedroom and everything else. The staff were warm and very helpful.
However, we booked a room with a pool view (balcony). Below is a photo from inside the room. The view was predominantly street/city view with apartments opposite in close view (both ways). The street extended to the right. To the left you can just about catch a glimpse a view of the Lido pool. The overall experience is of a street view.
I brought this to the attention of the Reservations desk. They tried to change our room but could not because the Hotel was almost fully booked. I left it with them. After a couple of days I again brought them matter this time to the attention of the Customer Relations desk in the foyer. This time a room change was not appropriate as we had only one day of our stay left.
I don't believe that this was an adequate response from a quality hotel. I would suggest that the management immediately reconsider the designation of room 738 as a Pool View.

We stayed here as a family (my husband, our baby, and I) and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. Despite having four rainy days in Malta, we didn’t mind spending most of our time at the hotel—it was that good.

We had access to the M Lounge, which I highly recommend. It’s absolutely worth paying a little extra for. Throughout the day, there were refreshments including soft drinks, water, teas, coffee, muffins, fruit, and biscuits. From 17:00–19:00, a wonderful selection of small bites was served, such as delicious curries (chickpea, lentil, and even octopus on one evening), tarts, salads, charcuterie, fruit salads, and desserts.

The staff were exceptional—always warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make every guest’s stay special. A special mention goes to Sanju, who greeted us so warmly every morning and even offered us porridge for our baby, despite it not being a menu item.

A really thoughtful touch was when we arrived on my husband’s birthday. After checking in and going out for a few hours, we returned to find a card, dessert, and a bottle of prosecco waiting in our room. This was completely unexpected but such a lovely gesture that made our stay feel even more special.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with bottled water provided daily. The evening turndown service, complete with chocolates, was a lovely detail that made us feel truly looked after. The hotel even provided us with Childs Farm toiletries for the baby!

Breakfast is excellent in the lounge and main breakfast area, staff are really receptive with gluten-free toast and GF Maltese sausages cooked especially when not on the menu one day!
The Atrio restaurant, unfortunately, fell well short of the hotel's top-level standards. There was a 90-minute wait for food, and when it eventually arrived, the pasta and steak were overcooked, the salmon steak was tiny and overcooked, and everything was certainly overpriced for what it was. Staff were too embarrassed to even apologise for the delays, many others in the restaurant were complaining - maybe it was a bad night?

Had another excellent stay at hotel. Highly visible management team ensure that high standards are maintained for guests. We stayed in a room with Mclub access and enjoyed using the lounge area, pre-dinner drinks and canapés are a lovely touch. New pool area is very clean and well organised, we especially liked that every lounger had access to shading umbrellas. The umbrellas had call buttons on them to call waiting team ensuring that guests had easy access to food and drinks when you wanted without having to catch staff as they passed.
Hotel is very convenient for the efficient local bus service and the restaurants in the surrounding areas.
Would highly recommended and will definitely return.

The hotel and service is lovely - very attentive staff. Only comments I have is the half board - the evening meal is not fully included - they told me that I only have 45 euros to spend each night. Any amount that goes over that I would have to pay extra. Would have been better if this was noted at time of booking, for people assuming there will be no additional cost to worry about. Also the evening menu felt somewhat same-y and mediocre (great fish options though!) Recommend to perhaps do breakfast only as food is relatively cheap in Malta so perhaps get more variety and value for money.

St Julian’s as an area is a bit too busy for my likings, I wasn’t aware it was the place to go for nightlife. It felt too built up/densely populated. Next time I would perhaps stay in Silema or Valetta to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Malta is quite small and easily accessible so places are in reachable distance. Hotel room was lovely and clean. Housekeeping sometimes would come very early morning so had to put up ‘do not disturb’ sign so they come later. I enjoyed my stay here. The spa is lovely too, with attentive staff, nice treatments and complimentary use of spa and gym facilities was good. The ‘events’ they had on in hotel were outdated on the printout they gave on arrival. Twice I thought the grill night and sushi/jazz night were I on but got told that was last month and this month the dates are different, so that was a bit disappointing but other than that lovely hotel.

Amazing hotel - newly renovated- amazing facilities- excellent service. Met the general manager Alex walking about the place who came over to ask how we were getting on. Plenty of sunbeds and none of this reserving sunbeds early with towels like we saw at Hilton Malta .

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel, conveniently located near Spinola Bay, St Julian’s and Sliema.

Our Double Queen Suite was clean, spacious, and regularly cleaned, with a great turndown service. The air conditioning was silent and effective. Breakfast was good (bar the coffee) but not exceptional. We really appreciated the unlimited water bottles in our room. The front-of-house team were great; attentive, and helpful and the public areas were immaculate, with a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. However, rooms can be loud if you have a noisy family above you.

The poolside service was also unfortunately hit-and-miss, with some staff being inattentive. Sean, a hardworking staff member, went above and beyond to cover for failings. While on holiday we experienced some issues with ordering (the service buttons don’t always work or staff are simply too busy), twice our lunch orders were forgotten (!?) and one day there was a terrible sewage smell which I complained about (and no doubt others). Not what you expect at a Marriott but this was rectified the next day. The pool itself is great - sunbeds, parasols and unlimited towels available.

The poolside facilities were the cleanest I have ever seen/used.

Overall, a well maintained hotel with great staff -
We would stay again but tweaks are needed to reach a genuine 5* level.

Feel lucky to have chosen such a lovely hotel. Easy walk to town and beeches. Comfortable and quiet. 3 different pools with plenty of space and great restaurant options. Excellent Marriott Hotel in iconic Balluta Bay

Balluta Bay has always had a special place in my heart, because it's my birthplace and the Marriott Hotel occupies the exact area where I was born.

We visit Malta every summer and in the last few years have preferred to stay in other hotels in the St Julian's area; ones that offer multiple swimming pools for easy children swimming, easy access to the sea... well the Marriott has come up trumps with the introduction of a new spacious pool and huge seating area. They have completed the circle and has made themselves my number one choice. In my opinion, the hotel offers the best views, outstanding customer service, lovely staff, excellent restaurants... I could go on, but instead leave you to try for yourselves. You won't be disappointed.

We traveled to Malta from Texas and This is one of the nicest if not the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was immaculate, the view was heavenly, the staff was so incredibly helpful and courteous. We enjoyed the M Club and will definitely be doing that in our next stay with Marriott. I cannot say enough nice things about how lovely this experience was at the Malta Marriott. Thank you!

Marriott Resort & Spa Sliema was incredible. Great facilities and the staff were helpful, friendly, polite and accommodating.
Location is great too, Sliema has everything within a 20 minute walk.
The hotel is family friendly whilst also having adult only facilities and it juggles both perfectly.
The breakfast options in the restaurant are vast and has plenty to appease even the fussiest of eaters. Also a very special shout out to the chef at the egg counter, he was not only a great chef who somehow managed to handle 6 orders at once flawlessly but did so with a smile. It was also nice to see the hotel manager occasionally doing tours of the hotel and talking to guests.
Next time I'm visiting Malta I will stay here again, no doubt about it.

Would stay there again

This was my 2nd trip to Malta first time using the Marriot resort & Spa. What an excellent hotel. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left there was nothing I could fault. The hotel itself was clean throughout and the reception area was spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out there way to ensure our staff was faultless
Stayed in a club room that was spacious even for a family of four had a sea view of St Julian's bay that made the stay even more special. It was busy outside at times but the noise was kept to a minimum. had use of the M club and the staff there were fantastic going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Well worth the extra I paid. Breakfasts were plentiful and lots of choice the afternoon snacks helped fill some hungry stomachs after a day out
Room service was reasonable and the food plentiful but there are plenty of bars and restaurants locally that again are well priced and serve generous portions (Didn't finish one meal in the nearby Bonconchio due to portion size)
Hotel has three pools two available for children and both are kept clean and tidy the indoor pool does have a quiet time for those that want to relax and chill
Whilst we were there Balluta Bay was always busy from 6am through to late
Would happily recomment and would stay there again

I will always return to the Marriott Malta, it seems to get better every time I go back. The manager and their team are really committed to an exceptional guest experience and go above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy. The property itself is clean, well maintained and has excellent housekeeping team - the facilities are upgraded and the overall vibe is of serene and calm.
