Got a room at the ground floor with an inner court window with iron bars and plants, facing the window glass of the lobby area, so possible to be seen by people there if you dared to drug the curtain for some fresh air or day light (not really possible at all) that made the room very humid and maintained smells from not being ever able to be refreshed or dry out properly after being cleaned.
Other that that, spacious with a pleasant decoration, value for money, fine for a short stay.

The room was very spacious and pleasant overall as I was lucky I guess to be given this room, after my sister's unpleasant experience at the room of the ground floor with the inner window corridor room. I happened to have a nice balcony on the 5th floor with all facilities functioning well and a standard kitchenette to prepare food if you wish to.
It was clean overall, if you're not too fussy about details, ie I found hairs in the bed as soon as I removed the top bedsheet. The mattress and pillows are clean and of good quality.
The AC had traces of mould so not ideal if you're too sensitive and the towels smelled of food or similar as if they were dried nearby where food is being cooked.
It was quite stressful to be asked of a pre-authorisation of 100 euros to a prepaid room upon arrival as a deposit in case I break sth.
Apart from that, it was a pleasant room and value for money for this particular budget as it definitely serve its purpose well!
The location is very much ideal, a couple of minutes from the bus stop to/from the airport, with shops and restaurants around, about a 10 min walk from the ferry terminal to Valletta.

Had cockroaches in our room and a musty smell that we complained about so they gave us cockroach spray and said there were no rooms and sent us on our way, we later went down to complain and get a refund and suddenly a room appeared, the staff were lovely though, so other than the first awful room would recommend, close to shops and food places too.

Nice large 2 bedroom apartment however general maintenance of the apartment was lacking. Only warm water in the main shower, door handle to bedroom came off, big discoloration / water damage in the hall leading to the back, and had to request a new kettle for the kitchen.

1st appartment horrendous, moved into better one

When we arrived we were told we were to stay in a different building which did not have a pool.

When we arrived at the propert it was a complete mess, bath had cigarette burns, kitchen cupboards falling off, the fridge/freezer covered in dents, appliances were all rusted. The cuoboards and draws for clothes were falling apart and there was significant damp and mould around the property. It resembled a crack den.

We complained and were moved the next morning to a modern apartment which was a massive improvement, it was clean, modern and the apliances were new.

The fact they tried to palm us off with the initial apparent was disgusting

Not the apartment shown by hotels.com. Very noisy , air con also very ñoisy. One toilet didnt flush. Stairs had a permanent leak when entering which is dangerous. Been staying with ST Group in Malta for many years and always happy. Not this time.

The location of the place is ideal as it sits right between Valletta (on your right) and St. Julian’s (on your left). The place itself is pretty spacious, clean although it’s a fairly old building. However, it’s really noisy in and around the building. You hear a lot of echoes from other rooms, people talking in the hallway, cleaners chitchatting in the corridors. For a day or two stay, it’s okay for the price but if you intend to have a relaxing vacation, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Muy mal servicio con los empleados, no funcionaba el horno y tuvimos que ir 3 veces a decirlo ya que las 2 anteriores nos engañaron diciéndonos que venía un técnico y no apareció nadie y cuando a la tercera vino alguien a solucionarlo no hizo nada solo lo miró dijo que no funcionaba y se fue. No nos dijeron donde se ubicaba la piscina y encima no es la que sale en las fotos y muy oscura la zona del apartamento en cuanto a iluminación de la calle, no recomendable salir de noche.

Location of the apartment was good, as was the self catering option and the staff were friendly enough, but the images on the site are not representative of the property itself and quite misleading. The whole block is very tired and not in great condition. Our beds were like campbeds pushed together, blankets with marks on them and curtains that didn't actually close properly so let the light in. Our balcony door didn't lock properly and was actually left open by housekeeping which was very frustrating. In the bathroom there is a fixed showerhead and the 'free toileteries' is a container of soap that wasn't replaced. The kitchenette was not fully equipped enough to be adequate for true self catering and the units were poorly fitted and broken, meaning the fridge often didn't fully close without us realising. Noise was the worst issue, the walls are paper thin and every door is a heavy fire door that people let slam all hours of the night so don't expect a decent nights sleep. Aircon isn't brilliant and the wifi is very sketchy, we complained at reception when it dropped up and they did said an engineer to fix it in fairness. Fine for youth hostel stays and stag dos but at 7 months pregnant this was not the best option for us, I was not comfy, would definitely not recommend it for the money and wouldn't stay again. The pictures on the site are there to fool people.

We're very happy with our stay (5 nights) and would choose the same hotel next time. The apartment is perfectly located, close to the sea front, public transport and restaurants but at the same time secluded a little, so it's quiet, away from the buzz. It's clean and the housekeeping was good and the bed was comfy. Our apartment was well equipped with the essential kitchen stuff like kettle, fridge, toaster and microwave as well as extra blankets and air conditioning. The staff very helpful and friendly.

They own a few properties and they moved me around. It would have been fine but I arrived late at night. Then they were doing a shift change so made me wait (again fine) then they realized they put me in a different property and made me walk over but told me I’d get free breakfast. Got to the new place and then no breakfast…just kinda annoying that they just change and it wasn’t in the same location.

We had a great time in Malta and Gozo with the help of the wonderful staff. Our room was always clean and fresh, the staff were friendly and helpful always looking after us. when we arrived we was happy with the accommodation then we shut the curtains and a swam of little flys were everywhere we had to go buy fly spray to help but i didnt we was being bitted by the flys felts so itch and dirty not happy at all contacted someone on chat to be told they cant help id have to go to reception which was a few streets away from our apartment tried calling reception no answer after this we didnt wanna sleep in the beds incase of bed bugs absolutely horrible never would i return to blu bay apartments

Was expecting to stay in another block to where we checked in but were directed to a studio within the 'main' building Everyone was helpful and efficient. The apartment was clean and the room was made up every day. Plenty of hot water. Not a particularly scenic area to stay but only 5 mins from the sea front. I'm sure the roof terrace and pool are used extensively in the Summer. Very very happy with what we got for the price we paid

Webs tayed in a 2-bedroom apartment.
Good points include the view of the harbour, a balcony with table and chairs, and lots of space.
The aircon was effective and quiet.

The beds were ok, comfort wise, but if you were expecting a double it would be a problem. All beds at the property are singles pushed together.
I had friends in a three-bedroom apartment upstairs where it was the same.

WiFi was nonexistent. Never managed to connect in the whole week.

Cleaning was patchy. Housekeeping seemed to come every day, to tidy the beds and empty the main kitchen bin. But not sure what else.
Clean, unused towels were taken away some days. Other days they left new ones but only in one bathroom.

The shower sliding door was completely detached from its runners. It fell out towards the wall the first time I used the shower so I never touched it after that.

Decor was tatty and grubby, wall paper coming away from the walls and ugly marks on the walls and lampshades etc.

Kitchen was big and had what was needed including a fridge and freezer. But beware they don’t supply even as much as a cloth to keep the space clean. You have to buy it all.

Lift has a mind of its own and buttons don’t all work.

The pool is not at the apartment, it’s on the roof of the hotel a minute away. Loungers and umbrellas. But they don’t have enough towels.

Overall it was good enough and comfortable enough but just a bit less than advertised.

One of our best accomodations ever

Our stay was excellent. The property exceeded our expectations. Great value for money and the location of the property was great. 2 min from the bus station and close to major landmarks. All staff was very helpful and kind and the place was clean and very well equiped with everything you need. I would totally recomand staying at any of their properties as they have multiple hotels and apartments. Really nothing to complain about.

The original apartment we had was not very satisfactory or what was expected. But after we made this clear to management, we were able to change for a much better apartment.
Very pleased with the service received overall.
Although would have helped to know services such as Sauna was chargeable before hand. Otherwise, overall we had a pleasant stay.

The apartments are actually spread around near the main building and you are taken to your building once you have checked in. We were staying in a lovely big apartment wiht balcony which was excellent value for the price we paid. There was no pool or restaurant in our building so I feel the images are a bit misleading. The bathroom and kitchen were fitted to a high standard. There is no washing machine in the apartment but there is a wonderful laundry service on Sir Ponsonby Street where you can drop your stuff off in the morning and they will wash it and dry it for you the same day for €8 a load. There are lots of little mini supermarkets around, some wont take cards so be aware. Wifi reception was excellent and really appreciated. The reception staff were extremely helpful and very hard working. thank you

't expect much, nothing great except the location.

I don't generally write reviews but thought it was worth my time and effort to do so this time. Let me start with the positives first:
1) Great location - but don't expect views or rooms as shown in the pictures on their site. Walking distance to bus stops, cruise harbour, restaurants and shops.
2) Apartment size was good and spacious
3) Some of the staff - especially the house keeping very friendly.

Now the negatives:
1) The apartment was not clean and had several issues, like ACs not working in 2 of the 3 bedroom units. Finally Alex, the manager changed our apartment and the fortunately this all all ACs were working.
2) The kitchen lacked basics - for an apartment of 6, we had only 3 plates, no glasses for drinking water. The cooker was faulty and everytime we started the oven, the lights would go off the circuit breaker tripped.
3) All rooms have singled beds and the staff join 2 beds to create a double bed. No proper duvets provided despite the cold weather and what they term is blankets are actually polyester throws we use in UK. Mattresses are very bad and all of the us severe back ache every morning when we woke up.
4) The phone in the apartment was not working and despite several complaints, it was not fixed.
5) We had electricity issues in the complex when there were no lights in the apartments. No emergency lights provided.
6) House Keeping staff not provided with gloves by the hotel management. Hence they don't clean the basin and toilets well.

The wiew makes all the money

Wiew from the balcony is wonderful. Big living room with a small kitchen where the water has no pressure. Main bedroom cold because of the air conditioning not working. Bathroom from the main bedroom was from the north pole. Both bathrooms need repairs. Beds was OK to sleep on. Second bedroom if you open the window all the smell from the Turkish restaurant from the bottom of the building is coming in.

The Apartment was clean and tidy the only issue was the view wasn't what we were expecting. The air conditioner was placed in the bedrooms and none in the living area. It would have been comfortable for us to have a TV in the bedroom as the chairs were very uncomfortable to sit on for tall people. Overall it was ok.

Dirty sheets!!

Our sheets were not clean, they have clearly been used before and not washed. They also had old-age stains showing they were way too worn out to be used anymore. The room also wasn’t in the actual property, but a few blocks up the hill, and our building didn’t even have an active reception. The clerk went into our bedroom to set the air conditioning, which was probably well meant but came out very rude and was very uncomfortable. The pillows were clearly the cheapest they found and uncomfortable, similarly the beds. The only highlight was very nice front desk personel in the morning and the free luggage storage they provided us, so that we can wander around without bags. But overall I would never stay again!

Good location and reasonable value, however, the standard of room you will get is a lottery as you can be offered very low standard student type studio apartments or fairly nice modern furnished studios all for the same price - there is a lack of consistency to the standard of accommodation you will be offered here so take your chances.

Restaurant is of a good quality, however, the fitness room is dirty with old and half broken equipment and no air conditioning so totally unsuitable for anybody who likes to work out when travelling (with 2019 standard of gyms this is like 1972 and looks like it didn't get cleaned since then either)

You get what you pay for. Just pray you don't get a student group near you as this hotel and apartment group regularly book in large groups of teenage students with the corresponding noise and student hours of activity. You have been warned.

View was fabulous. Beds comfortable. Spacious apartment with big main bedroom & smaller 2nd. Kitchen was fine but fridge seal stopped door closing properly at times. Balcony windows were missing handles at one side meaning they weren't secure & noisy from road below. Generally could do with a freshen up, furniture & decor. No heating & although it was sunny, it was windy & cold at night. However, despite this, it was comfortable & convenient for bus, ferry, tour bus, cruises& restaurants. Would book again.

Above par budget apart/hotel in Sliema, Malta. The location of our room cannot be better. We were right in the main water front, close to shops and restaurants with a great view of the marina and Valletta. We were a 5 minute walk to the ferry and 5 different bus lines for easy and cheap access to Valletta. Because it was winter time, a couple of loops and we were always able to find parking a few blocks away and the drive in and out of Sliema was hassle free.

I do caution travelers (specifically those traveling alone) that this hotel has rooms in more than one location and as such, your apartment may not be in the same location as reception (which is 24 hours). From a safety perspective, had I been traveling alone, I would have asked for a different room or had to stay somewhere else. I don’t like to stay at a location that differs from reception, the main door to the building did not lock, the phones in the rooms did not work (I was lucky enough to have bought a SIM card but without it would have needed to walk to reception to get a hold of someone) and the sliding doors to the front and back balcony as well as two exterior windows did not lock. The staff was quick to get maintenance to us to fix the doors but they were unable to fix the windows properly. They ended up putting in some screws to try and “lock them” but as I mentioned, had I been alone, this solution would not have been sufficient to feel safe (though I did not feel unsafe in the country as a whole).

The picture in the internet is what the place is really like. Beautiful view, near restaurants, bus and convenient store. My terrible experience was on our last night we came home and one of the couches was sideways. Feet on the wall. We thought at ist the place was ransacked. Nothing was missing. We went to the reception with pictures to show to ask what happened. The guy on the counter helped another customer even though i was ist on line. 15 minutes later a girl came and asked to be helped, again he helped her ist. When I said that i was ist in line he said \"her issue is quick to resolve\". 50 MINUTES later he is still \"busy\". NOT once did he ever asked what I need. He keeps on saying \" I will help you in a few mins.\" We had an exhausting day and STANDING in line for 50 mins.made it worst. There were 4 of us in line at this time.Finally my friend showed him the picture to his face \"he is still busy\" and he just said he will have someone to checked on it. It was a less than 30 second of conversation and yet we stood there for 50 minutes. If he only asked what we need, this could have been prevented. To be honest, the encounter with this guy on our last night, made my Malta experience disapointing. Try walking the whole day and stand in line for 50 minutes. Otherwise it would have been a perfect vacation.

The apartment's location was wonderful. We got the view of the bay from the balcony. The place is so convenient. Near restaurants, grocery, bus stop, Malta is a beautiful country. However, we had a bad experience with the hotel. First of all, we came back to an aparrment with one of the couch sideways, leg part on the wall. Throw pillows on the dining table. We went the hotel's reception to inquire what was going on. The guy on the counter was so rude. First of all I was first in line but he helped another customer. Been standing on line for 15 mins. He again he helped another person. When i said I was here ist his comment was \" her issue are quick\". My issue is quick to resolve too. He never asked, NOT once what I need. Been standing in front of him for 50 MINUTES,. He just keeps on saying \"I'll help you in a FEW mins\". We had an exhausting day and to stand in line for 50 mins, just to a question made it worst. My friend showed him a picture of the room (\"he is still working\"

Great for a family of 5. The apartment is a few blocks off the water -- the neighborhood is ok, but the real tourist activity in Malta is across the bay in Valetta. There are 3 related properties: The apartment is located in a building a block away from the checkin office (the building with efficiency apartments) Breakfast (6 euros for adults, 4 for kids), free for under 10) is in the hotel 2 blocks away. Luggage storage is at the hotel.

Situated 5 mins walk away from Blubay Appts. Guided there so no problem. Building still in good location and in great condition. Spacious studio appt which was clean, well equipped. We had no complaints and staff in main reception (Blubay) were excellent. Highly recommended.

The lines no matter what time you went to reception were insane. There was over. 2 hours wait just to get into the room AFTER the 1400 check in time. The facilities were adequate but our bathroom had no light for the whole week.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! They were really great for what I saw that they dealt with

The apartment was spacious and quite new. It was kept clean by a daily visit from the housekeeper. We didn't expect this as we were self catering.
The location was great. Very close to the ferry to Valletta. Would definitely stay there again.

It was clean and relatively comfortable. The 24 hour checkin at Blubay (in Ponsonby St) is about 500 metres from the apartment I had, but my accomm. appeared newer than the Blubay building. The pool is at Blubay so you have a walk to use that with accompanying annoyance of moving gear etc. It is not that great anyway. And there is a sign which says \"no swimwear only\" during that walk (I presume the Maltese are a little less liberal than Aussies on that issue, esp. re ladies). Further annoying was front desk support, the phone contact with reception appeared not to work to solve little issues. I just asked the poor old cleaning staff on hand, god bless them. The wifi worked and the daily cleaning was good (they do not supply washing up gear or a teatowel, unless you ask the cleaning staff, and even then it seemed to be a non-management approved favour).
Ponsonby bus stop was a 7 min walk, again from the Moroni apartment block, not Blubay from which it is closer. A decent (non-mini) supermarket is about 20 mins walk.

2 bed flat with fantastic sea view

we stayed 6 nights and had a very good stay.
the flat has everything we needed to cook and is well equipped. the rooms were comfortable. the location is great, only 10min walk from the ferry to Valetta, with bus links nearby too. very beautiful location as well. we couldn't hope for a better view from the balcony. it was fantastic.
the only down sides are the wifi connexion which is not great, but it was not a big deal for us, and the noise coming from the fun fair crossing the road, in Manoel island, but once the balcony door was closed, it was fine. we didn't hear any noise during the night, only the rubbish collection early morning. but again, not a big deal for us.
i can only recommend this place, and we will book again if we ever go back to this part of the world.

Handy for transport and local restaurants, etc. Great to have own kitchen to prepare food. The room was spacious and bed comfy. The staff were friendly. Draw-backs were that it was a little cold in winter, and there was next to no sound-proofing in the room - could hear everything going on in neighbouring rooms, but fortunately they weren't too loud!

Blubay apartments are in an ideal location with a few minutes walk from the promenade and bars and restaurants. Close to bus stops too.
Ideal place to stay if you don’t spend much time in the hotel and are out exploring/site seeing most of the time.

Good for the price

Stayed in a one bed apartment, away from the main hotel, in Trig Moroni. The apartment was very spacious and very clean, it was attended to daily, which we had not expected, we didn’t see much of our cleaner Katarina but we always came back to a very clean and tidy apartment. Some of the furnishings were a bit worn but it was purely cosmetic and didn’t affect our comfort in any way. The area is very quiet except for building work which is everywhere in Malta, noise from other apartments does travel through the hallways but as the bedroom is not directly off them it doesn’t affect you when sleeping. Although it’s not the prettiest area the apartment is only a few minutes walk from ferries, buses, shops and restaurants etc and there are a couple of mini markets very close. As we were there in December some evenings we found the apartment a bit cold and there was no form of heating available, it initially looked like the air conditioning would also heat but we could not get it to do anything other than cool, to be fair we did not raise this with the hotel as there were extra blankets etc so we were fine when sleeping. The only major issue was the very poor WiFi, for that reason alone we would probably not book here again unless we were assured that the issue had been sorted. Overall these were very good value for money apartments.
