We were upgraded to a family room which was lovely! Staff very helpful and arranged for some wine and flowers for my partner’s birthday. If you are not used to sleeping near a main road you may find it difficult due to the traffic. The pool in hotel was very small but the sauna was lovely (steam room was shut). The pool across the road was a handy option, especially once we’d checked out of the hotel.

No could not see the seafront.
Room was lovely, clean and well equipped. Only downfall was the patio opens out onto internal walls/windows of other rooms.
Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. We had an evening meal in the restaurant also, food was delicious and service excellent.
Hotel in ideal location also. Unfortunately tge weather wasn’t too kind during our stay so didn’t get use of the pool and we still had an amazing time despite the weather. Would definitely recommend 😎🍹

Big positive: Breakfast buffet in the Grana Restaurant. Loads to eat and drink. Full English or continental or both!
Big negative: We went in February and the aircon was set to heat to 25°C (I keep my home at 18°C). I asked how I could turn it down and was told it's controlled centrally so not possible to control individual rooms, a decision which baffles me. Had the air con off the whole time, but it was warm, and we had an internal room so no air flow at all. I asked reception to provide a fan, but they said they didn't have any. Why on earth don't they let guests choose the temperatures in their own rooms??

The staff was excellent & responsive to our requests. The breakfast was plentiful but the room was chaotic at times. The servers, Abdul, Sandra & Sonia were amazing & kept dishes cleared from tables & fixed the coffee machine issues. They were friendly & helpful.
The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. Our room had a minor issue but it was fixed quickly. The bed is quite hard & the bathroom lacks any shelf space for toiletries. The hotel is on a main street so traffic was noisy at times but the view was amazing from a sea view room. Overall our stay was enjoyable.

I wanted to report a couple of issues with our room:

The room is extremely hot, and although there is a thermostat, it doesn’t appear to be functioning. Even the maintenance technician who checked it was unsure how it operates.

The shower is very small and is leaking, which is causing water to spill outside the shower area.

Room did not live up to expectations, didn't look like the pictures. Sound proofing level is zero. You can hear everything through the walls. If you're visiting during peak season it will not be a fun experience if you like to sleep in peace. The hotel does have a jacuzzi, and a sauna (which was not working)

Its a nice hotel. Clean, location is perfekt and the breakfast is good.
But if you want to get some sleep bring earplugs. You need to slam the room doors to close them and the sound proofing is terrible.
I told a girl at the reception that there is something in the shaft (the one you can see from the room windows) that was beeping loudly 24/7. She said that they will send mantainance but nothing happened.

Great location close to bars and restaurants along Sliema Waterfront. Fantastic views across the water to Valletta which is easy to get to with Sliema ferries or local buses.
Free use of he Aqualuna pool and sunbed complex opposite hotel.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Only booked bed and breakfast so cant comment on food but plenty of great places to eat locally.
Have stayed 3 times this year. Very reasonable price on Expedia .

We booked a superior twin room on the 25 th of March, when the booking came back there was no assurance of the twin room so I contacted the hotel and they sent me an assurance of a twin room, on the 26th march.
On arrival at the hotel on Dec 4th we were initially given a king size room, no 319. on questioning this and showing them the assurance of a twin room they said they did not see this e-mail ,they then had the audacity to say that the room was now ready which sadly was the same room with the two beds still together but made up as two singles with the same bed head.Not a twin room as assured. On questioning this later the gave us every excuse under the sun. We eventually walked away disgusted.
NOT A TWIN ROOM and certainly NOT a Superior room.in fact it was one of the smallest rooms on the floor!

Utterly disgusted and will posting this on their sight for others to see.

I stayed here for 4 nights and from day one the AC wasn’t working after complaining a few times I was told it’s because it’s winter but it gets so hot inside the room. I had to sleep with the balcony open which was so noisy because the hotel is on the road, one sleepless night. They did provide me with a fan which was helpful. I hope hotels start mentioning that the AC will be off during winters. Specially if it’s countries which are still hot during the winters. The shower was so small that you could hardly move. The bedding was stained a bit which I didn’t make a fuss about. The rooms are definitely not soundproof. I could hear everyone talking in their rooms. The only thing I would say was good was the convenient location, a minute away from buses both ways. Shops around and loads of restaurants around.

The best aspects of my stay were that room was clean and the location was perfect. Everything else was just mediocre. The breakfast was decent at best (the eggs were not great and the orange juice was watered down). The heat was not turned on at the hotel my first night there despite it being the end of November. They finally turned it on by my second day there (people must have complained). The staff was only moderately helpful, basically, everything was basic at best. The worst thing about my stay was the bed. The bed was as hard as a rock. I couldn't believe how uncomfortable the bed was.

From start to finish, our stay was exceptional.
Check-in was smooth, and although we were initially given a first floor room, the staff happily moved us to a fifth floor room with a balcony, no hassle at all. The rooms were very comfortable, but the real standout was the staff, super friendly, helpful, and truly fantastic, thank you to you all. Having access to the pool across the road was a great bonus and made the experience even better. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone planning a stay in Malta who doesn’t want to be in the heart of Valetta old town.

This hotel is ideally located on the promenade in sliema. Rooms are adequate and comfortable. Front desk staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfast seems to be a bit of a dog and pony show. We ate at the upstairs restaurant our first morning and it was excellent!! Later that day we noticed that the restaurant downstairs (Grana) also had breakfast. So we asked if there was a difference between the two and were told no. We were then asked if we wanted to reserve our breakfast table for the next morning. We said sure, is it ok if we eat upstairs? Answer was sure no problem. Fast forward to the next morning, we go to breakfast at seasons upstairs and are told we're not on the list but no problem come on in. While we're getting our food a staff member then approaches my wife and basically berated her that we weren't supposed to be there and that for today it's okay but not for tomorrow. Firstly, customer service 101...DO NOT EVER BERATE A CUSTOMER...
ESPECIALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOOD LINE IN FRONT OF OTHER GUESTS. This behaviour should not be tolerated by management. If it wasn't for this experience, the hotel would have gotten a mich higher review. Will never return

The room and the hallway had a terrible smell, like sewage. When we arrived, they tried to trick us and send us to a hotel far from the main attractions. When we refused, they put us in a room that was clearly one of the worst in the entire hotel.

The only positive point is the location — it’s perfect, close to several restaurants, shops, and the main tour departure points.

No cold water in kitchenette till I did a minor fix.hot and cold taps reversed- notified front desk. They said they repaired it but didn’t
Body wash disoenser empty entire stay. Stuffy room with only “window” leading to alcove for pipes. Way overpriced considering room ambiance. Will avoid this chain in future. Small B&B’s are nicer, friendlier and significantly less expensive

Great Service, Great Location

The staff were friendly and service was immaculate from the very start of our stay to our departure. We had a room on 8th floor and it was super quiet, comfortable and fabulously clean (our room was cleaned every day which can be a rarity nowadays). There's a huge variety of food to choose from at the buffet breakfast and the food is delicious at Grana restaurant. A definitely worth having a dinner at the hotel. We received a free (sic!) welcome drink at the terrace bar on the 9th floor - amazing views across a bay towards Valletta and an excellent place to enjoy sunset. The hotel has a small 'dipping pool' (on the 8th floor) next to the fitness centre yet the bigger pool at Aqualuna across the road is free for hotel guests. The location of the hotel is ideal whether staying for a short trip or a longer holiday. There's direct airport bus service with a stop close to the hotel front door (1 min walk) and regular bus routes to the centre of Valletta (about 15 mins by bus). I warmly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again.

The hotel itself is great, it is in a great location and the free entry to the pool across the road is great, however the breakfast was very repetitive with the only option for eggs was scrambled, no jam only marmalade, maybe a little more selection would have made the difference, the rooftop bar only served beers in cans and in the two evenings we went they had limited stock however the view from the rooftop is spectacular .

Great stay at 115 The Strand Hotel, spacious comfortable clean room, good shower, bonus of balcony. Good breakfast plenty choice. Tea/coffee facilities in room replenished daily, water fountain on each floor convenient for topping up water bottle. Free access to Aqualuna opposite hotel which had a great pool, bar and food. Staff at hotel very friendly and accommodating, check out was at 11am but able to store my luggage at hotel and make use of Aqualuna for the day, hotel provided showering facilities on 8th floor. Overall fantastic stay for solo traveller highly recommend.

Lovely hotel well located on the seafront. Easy access to the beach club which was absolutely jam packed as it opens to all the public and not just hotel guests. Very noisy on the ground floor but upstairs you could manage to find a quiet spot. My only criticism was you were watched at all time and if you attempted to take a drink of water from your own water bottle the staff would spring immediately and scorn you as you had to buy water from them.

This hotel is in a great location to discover the delights of Sliema & Gzira.
The staff are also exceptional and go above and beyond to help make sure your stay is memorable.

We stayed in a premium double room with a balcony which was spacious and comfortable.
The pool is across the road and this is very busy so we were happy to walk upstairs to use the sun beds rather than try and find a free sun bed next to the pool

Breakfast can be hit and miss as it really depends on what time you get there but we both enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel!

Good hotel but small tweaks would make a differenc

The room (superior suite) had everything we needed and the decor of the hotel was really modern but we were let down my by a couple of things. Breakfast, was lacking quality for us and variety on the fruit for example. Small details could have made a big difference there.
Also replenishing towels was missed twice, dirty ones were taken but a full set of new was not provided. May be policy not to restock until all are used but this was not clear.
In terms of the hotel itself, really great location for trips around Malta, just a short walk from the ferries & bus stops close by, plus no shortage of shops and restaurants.

We booked a room at 115 but due some construction work that was going on we got a room at the Urban rooms instead.

So we can’t really say to much about 115 apart from staff in reception was friendly, toilets OK, very much under staffed in the breakfast restaurant. There were not too many options for the breakfast. Coffee not great. Cups and glasses were out.

The room we got at Urban rooms were in general nice, comfortable bed and pillows but a lot of black mold in the bathroom.

It was perfect for what we wanted as a group of girls staying a few nights. The aqualuna opposite is included in the price and was an excellent addition, and we enjoyed a couple of days there.
We took a boat trip to the blue lagoon from just a few minutes walk away.

First time in Malta for a family wedding. Lovely hotel, staff so friendly & helpful. Breakfast had lots of choices & for every taste. Only downside was the Sunroof lounge area had no parasols so no shade. We had booked a Standard Room with only window and no outlook but not hotels fault it was ours. Would definitely return to this hotel but book room with balcony. It’s extremely good value for money. Look forward to returning here.

The hotel is in a great location. It's perfect if you want to explore the island on a bus. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. The hotel is located next to a long promenade. Guests can relax on sun loungers and swim in the pool on the other side of the street. The breakfast was very simple, and it was more like a typical English breakfast. There is a place to get water and a machine to make ice cubes on every floor. Unfortunately, the room smelt strongly of something, and the view from the window was of a ventilation shaft and the wall. But luckily, we were out of the hotel for the whole day. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to change the room because the hotel was fully booked. We left the room with breakfast at 12 a.m. We asked for breakfast to be sent to us, but all we got was a dry sandwich. It was a very disappointing end to our stay.

The hotel was very clean and organised. Our room was very comfortable and the sea view was worth the extra money. We were on the 8th floor and any noise generated by the busy area and road outside was not a problem as the doors and height blocked it.The bed was very big and comfortable.
Breakfast was average - the hot food was only slightly warm at times but the pastries were very good. More fresh fruit would be an improvement and also better breakfast cereals.
Seasons bar was disappointing as it lacked comfort and ambience. We also found bar service to be very slow.
Grana restaurant was very good, and busy so worth booking especially at the weekend.
Access to Aqualuna over the road was a bonus as this included sun beds and towels. The pool was very warm but crowded as many people chose to stand around in it. The music was loud and repetitive so we chose to sit in the upper area where it was less intrusive. The pizza was very good. We did not like it that smoking was allowed as this was unpleasant.
Overall the hotel was very good and apart from the Seasons bar and breakfast it felt more like a 4 star than a 3 star.

The photos that are advertised for this hotel looked way better than what it was. We felt the half of the room were dark, and we felt icky. The bathroom had the window, which we could see some trashes, and the next door's bedroom from some angle. The noise/sounds of other rooms we could hear from the bathroom window also. The notes looked nice, but it was not functional. We totally missed reading it - because the note looked some random graphic, and we didn't even notice the water service system on the each floor. The day when we leave, we found the empty bottle on the table, and finally noticed about the water service. The hotel front could have told us about the service when we arrived. Because these days, we see bottles are waiting in hotel rooms in general.
Also, we thought there were no hair dryer surprisingly, but we found it in the closet drawer - which is far from the bathroom. so I didn't notice until the next day..The pool amenity service was nice, but it was across the street, and way crowded. The drink service was nice but the time slot was only one hour, we couldn't use it. Breakfast wasn't our favorite either. I mean, it's better than one of the hotels we had in England...but not that good.
We have traveled a lot, and used a lot of similar priced ranged hotels, so we know this hotel could be better.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was compact, but spotless and the view over to Valletta was excellent. Breakfast was good. Used the roof terrace and the pool-lido area opposite, both of which were great. Convenient to be able to leave our luggage in the luggage room on the last day.
On the downside, some neighbours were on the noisy side.

Great location! Hotel was great and the pool are was amazing. The only problem was the size of my room I went with my teen son and it would have ok for a couple or single room but definitely not with a teenager. Sandra from breakfast was great & remember my coffee order every morning which was is a nice touch.

Lovely hotel but on this occasion, as we booked through Expedia, we didn’t get breakfast on the beautiful ninth floor restaurant as we had last year.
Very helpful staff though, great location and stunning views.

Malta is an exceptional country. This hotel, while not in Valletta proper, is on a number of bus routes. Malta has no train so all transportation is by bus or ferry. It's very easy. The hotel is terrific. No complaints.

Amazing 2 night stay - sea view room

Wow so glad I booked a sea view room, it was like a suite! Huge bathroom, separate living area with sofa, balcony with seating. Great location, 10 min walk to the ferries to go across to Valletta or the cruises to Gozo.
Staff lovely, good choice at breakfast of both hot and cold continental foods. Fridge in our room too. Mattresses are memory foam which seemed very firm (I’m used to super soft)
We had no time to use the voucher for the fantastic pool across the road but it looked great, and heated too. Handy little shop next door for drinks, snacks, souvenirs. Would 100% stay again but book the sea view room again. 10/10

Lovely stay at this hotel, very clean comfortable room.
Fantastic views across the harbour with a seaview balcony room.
Very nice staff, helpful if things went wrong like the TV in the room.
Breakfast basic with some hot options.
Really slow coffee machines than i have ever experienced elsewhere.
Many local restaurants and a lovely lido just across the road. Transport connections very good. Would stay here again.
