The air conditioning is seasonal so the room got really hot at night. We stayed in March and could not use the ac. Other than that the room was wonderful. It would be nice if there was a full body mirror. Only small mirrors in the room. Big room with lots of space but no mirror. Breakfast buffet at sitar hotel around corner was delicious. They allowed us to check in early at 1.

Didn't get to use the hot tub. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean. The only down side was having to leave the property to eat. The breakfast buffet at the sister property 115 Strand, (a 2 minute walk away)was excellent. Also plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops close by. All in all a good experience, I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

No prior warning about rooftop pool unavailability but offered free lido passes as an alternative.
Well placed for transport links TD3 airport bus and Sliema ferry.lots of eateries within 2 minute walk.
Rooms modern and well equipped with charging points and good lighting.

I was really looking forward to staying here but I ended up moving hotels after first night. I arrived just past midnight & checked in easily, my room was very hot/humid when I arrived & the aircon wasn’t working, I contacted reception who came up & looked at it & then told me it’s centralised & during winter it blows hot air which can’t be changed. He then told me to sleep with the balcony door open if I wanted it to be cooler - couple off issues with this 1. noise 2. insects 3. safety (I was travelling solo). I had an awful nights sleep & I eventually drifted off & after 1 hour woken up at 7am by the neighbouring rooms extractor fan/shower. I spoke with girl on reception (who I can’t fault) & she advised that aircon can’t be amended but moved me to a different (smaller) room to see it if makes a difference. My new room, granted was a little bit cooler, stank of damp & I was unable to turn off the very loud extractor fan in bathroom. I could hear peoples phones in other rooms pinging & people moving about outside. There was also no mirror. I had to make choice between moving rooms again or booking a different hotel, as the day (which was my birthday) was getting on chose the latter. I didn’t want to get a new room to then feel uncomfortable again. I advised receptionist as I left of issues with new room. It was best decision I made (despite not getting a refund) as I felt so much more comfortable & enjoyed rest of my birthday trip. The rooms were clean & staff were friendly.

The room was clean and quiet. I was there in late November, so that might have helped with the quiet. Great location near food, shopping, and transportation. Kettle with tea and coffee in room.

The cons were that the advertised pools and hot tubs are at a third party location down the street, with limited hours (closed at 18:00 while I was there). The only pool at this location is on the rooftop and very small. There is construction on the building across the road all day, but they were quiet at night.

We did not know much about the area and we were at first a little nervous about how far it would be. Absolutely everything was a wonderful surprise! It was so close and convenient to get around to all of the sightseeing spots. Sliema was a short walk, Valetta easily accesible by ferry. The staff were incredibly friendly. The pool both at the hotel and at the beach club were great, and there is a lot of great food and shopping nearby. For the price point i cannot recommend this place enough. I would skip the discounted breakfast though. If it were free and included it would be fine, but for not much more you can walk down to their Bookish Cafe and get a wonderful sandwhich and espresso. And the food was really just ok.

The hotel moved our room and the shower was better but still had mould. The air conditioning in the first room the air conditioning was leaking. Overall, great stay but probably wouldn’t return.

The rooftop jacuzzi is a nice to have but the Aqualuna pool that is included for free from the hotel is great for travelers who want to sunbath without travelling miles for the beach. The location is brilliant as it is the first stop from the Airport Bus and the same bus stop takes you back to the airport as well.

Lovely room, and super well located. Easy walk to the Main Street / water. Beds were comfortable. I found it a bit warm in the room, the ac is controlled centrally, so was unable to adjust, but got a breeze through the patio door. Would stay again! The pool facility is a quick walk and was lovely too.

Good for the price, just a few niggles

For the price, it was decent. But a few niggles- The pool in the photos (and my photos) is the nearby lido which you get free access to. It’s beautiful, but it’s a 5 min walk down the road not at the hotel which isn’t clear when viewing the hotel info online. The hotel ‘pool’ is more like hot tub size & rooftop terrace is tiny. I assume the air con is only seasonal, as mine could only be used in fan mode in November so didn’t cool the room at all. On the top floor my room was boiling and it was 22 degrees outside so not comfortable for sleeping without air con.
That said, the rooms are very modern and spacious, the staff are brilliant and extremely helpful, the beds were comfy and the hotel is in a good location. Breakfast is available for €6.50 per day at the sister hotel round the corner. I’d stay here again if on a budget, but would prefer to pay slightly more for nearby alternatives.

Great hotel in the perfect location. The bed was so comfortable and the shower amazing. Has shampoo and body wash in the room and powerful air conditioning which made such a difference in the 30 degree weather. Added bonus to have free ticket to the beach club which has fabulous food at reasonable prices. We came for a long weekend so the location from the airport was idea. I would recommend.

Great experience here - room was ultra modern and had two balconies! Hotel pool is very small, however access to the local pool was included and a great experience being able to swim overlooking the harbour! Also was surprised that wellness options were available even though we didn’t get chance to use.

The hotel was going through some refurbishment during our stay, but this did not impact any part of our experience.

The location is quite good, lots of bars, shops, restaurants around, and very close to the ferry to Valletta. The staff was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly, and gave great recommendations. The room was large and very comfortable. The only thing that was not excellent is that sometimes, there could be a bad smell coming from the washroom.

This was in a quiet alley street. Seemed questionable at first. But its right off the main street in an alley so that actually lends to it being more quiet and private. The room was also surprisingly spacious and with a small balcony which was nice. The staff was very nice and welcoming. My only gripe was the pool was closed for maintenance during my stay. It looked to have a really nice view and was small and private. They did offer complimentary towels and passes to the aqualune pool across the street to make up for this.

Ok if you like moukd and worn out furnishings

Suites are located about 100 meters from hotel. We checked in at 1am for our 2 night stay. We booked this apartment as needed a washing machine. We booked a balcony but got a terrace looking at walls and windows looking down at us. At least a balcony would have given us some views. Bathroom sink was blocked and did not drain. Safe was left in lock mode. Furniture is worn out with bedhead and chairs all peeling. Blinds have strings broken so you can't even close properly for privacy. Aircon in room does not work. Mould around bathroom shower and kitchen sink. Reported some of these issues to the apartment cleaner next morning. I mentioned all these to reception at check out and she said I should have reported issue straight away. Oh yeah so we should haved walked back at 1am after check in to report as no other way to do it. Thank god we were moving to another hotel

A Very Pleasant Stay At 115 The Strand Suites.

We had a large bright, modern suite with excellent cooking and storage facilities. Good air conditioning and wifi .Conveniently located a few minutes walk from (Bouverie) bus stop opposite The Strand Hotel where bus goes to Valetta and several other towns and (Ponsonby) bus stop for direct TD2 shuttle from/to Airport (30 min).Also almost opposite Sliema ferry to Valetta (15 min) and Hop on/Hop off bus (Stop18 kiosk Blue Route). Located close to bars, restaurants and two mini markets.We used the maltatransfer.com shuttle from Desk 12 at airport having arrived after 11.30 pm. Excellent service from a friendly (The Strand Hotel) reception and cleaning staff. We would gladly recommend 115 The Strand Suites for its excellent service, good location and very good value.

First of all when my husband booked this he thought he was booking into a family suite in the main hotel and not into a separate apartment block around the corner. The apartment itself was good if you could pick it up and place it elsewhere. There was a large terrace balcony but it was overlooked by the back of other buildings and had a crane overhead. It was also very dusty from building work. Amenities and the maid service were good but the main hotel is also under renovation so there is no terrace restaurant and splash pool available until July. Plug sockets are UK but please take a shaving adapter with you as the hairdryer is 2 prong and I was to
D it was ok to plug onto a uk socket. There is one euro plug socket but nowhere near a mirror. We booked this last minute to meet up with another party and it was the nearest location otherwise we would have gone elsewhere.

Noisy and mouldy with no communication.

Upon arrival we found ourselves at a building site which we were not told about not even on arrival. After 2 days we asked for room change as we couldn't stand the state of our apartment due to mould.
The receptionist was very helpful and we could move to a smaller double room with kitchenette (and we had to feel lucky not to be charged extra fee).
Then a chain of events had started.
Firstly the food we bought froze down for te next morning in the fridge. Secondly the air-con was not working(at all) and we asked for a heater which got on fire within seconds we turned it on. Even though we reported it nothing was done about it.
Furthermore we didn't need to set up our alarm as hammering and drilling started 8am on Sunday. (No communication again).
Last but not least on our last morning just before check-out we realised the toilet was not working (No water)... after calling the reception we were told maintenance problem but no more.
Wouldn't call it luxury apartment at all.

The property was damp. Wall paper had pealed off the wall in the main bedroom and there was mould on the wall.
It was so damp that the clothes in the wardrobe were damp.
The table was broken. There were no heating instructions so we had to look them up on the web.
The suites were in the middle of a building site and the noise and road conditions were awful For five days there was no door step or pavement outside of the building.

We were originally booked to stay in one of the apartments around the corner and down the street, but after seeing the ongoing construction and experiencing firsthand the workmen’s noise early on the first morning, we decided to ask if we could be moved to a higher floor or a family suite in the hotel. Lo and behold,we were shown a fantastic, third floor, sea view unit which was quite accommodating. Great service all around and great location. THANX !!

The apartment I was offered was very nice, very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The apartment was just a few steps away from a hotel in a new building. I had a lot of space to spread out and relax. The apartment offered all the amenities I needed, such as a fully stocked kitchen, air conditioning in both the living room and in the bedroom, a washer, and fast WiFi. The hotel front desk staff was very polite and helpful. Near the apartment, there are many shops, restaurants, groceries, ATMs, and other conveniences. I would definitely stay here again.

Suiten im extra Gebäude in einer Seitenstraße 100m vom Hotel.Super sauber und neu. Alles vorhanden z.B. Universalsteckdose, Spülmittel und gratis Kaffepulver + Tee wird aufgefüllt. Keine deutsche TV Sender aber sehr schnelles Internet (HD streaming). Die Fenster hätten schallisoliert sein können, weil die paar Autos nachts in der Gasse hallen. Wer einen leichten Schlaf hat, wird dadurch wach. Zimmersafe in der Suite gratis.

We enjoyed the close proximity to family and shopping within a short walking distance. the Strand apartments and flats are in a fantastic location and the rooms were all of adequate size. We do feel that for the money they charge for their units, in the flats (cant speak for the apartments), they should have curtains or darkening blinds on at least the bedroom windows. The bathrooms need cupboards and/or shelves as there is no place to keep toiletries. A few more pieces of cookware and cooking utensils such as potato parer/peeler etc would have been a nice touch. The flats are a little too high priced based on the above reasons or shortcomings.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment which was very spacious and had a good sized terrace as well as 2 balconies. The strand apartments are situated in a perfect location, near a main bus route and just a 5 minute walk to the Sliema ferries. Perfect location if you have children.

Easy check in even though arrived late. Go to the hotel reception to get the keys and apartment was around the corner. Fully equipped kitchen and washing machine and iron.

Lift is available to top floors and near the main road of Sliema.

Everyday cleaning ladies are available to clean and make up your rooms.

Replenished tea and coffee every day.

There were definite pros and cons to staying at Strand Suites, although overall the experience was a positive one. The suites are a couple of minutes walk from the main hotel/apartment block, located down a side street (and currently right next to a building site), and any thought you may harbour of a sea-view is in vain. One word of warning, the street outside appears to be a bit run-down and dingy, but actually it was okay even if a little off-putting at first glance.

We stayed in Apartment 4, which is situated on the first floor and is a lovely, well-presented spacious apartment with doors out onto the balcony from both the bedroom and living room. The balcony is large, but completely surrounded by an 8ft whitewashed wall. This is actually just as well at the moment (as of November 2017), as right next door is a large construction site, which made sitting out with your morning coffee a rather noisy affair.

The apartment was serviced regularly with fresh towels, emptied bins and cleaning done every day. The double bed and sofa-bed were comfortable and there were plenty of spare pillows and duvets and air-conditioning in both areas. Aside from the current construction work, the apartment was quiet at night and we could sleep undisturbed until the workmen and machines started work in the morning (although this was mitigated a little by the double-glazing).

All in all, it was a pleasant stay and given it was a last minute trip - we were happy.

Good location for buses and ferries

Would have been good to have access to a swimming pool and more outdoor seating.
Very noisy and dirty building work next door to apartments 7 days a week.
Otherwise accommodation of a high standard.

Great apartment in great location.

If you are looking for an apartment with a great view from the balcony Strand Suites is not for you because the view is just of the back of other buildings. If however you, like us, have other priorities - quiet but central location, great comfort, cleanliness, facilities - Strand Suites is just what you need.

Cleaning of the room

The Hotel suite was really lovely but we were not happy not having the suite cleaned until 4.30 to 5pm every day.. We like to get back sometimes about 4pm but the room was never done. its the only hotel we have been in that has not had the room done in the morning. That is the only complaint we have.

Good location, helpful staffs, spacious apartment

The apartment is very spacious and the location is excellent. There are wears on the walls and furnitures, but overall the apartment is very clean. The only down side is that there lacks some basic supplies in the kitchen and laundry room. It would be nice if the hotel would have provided cooking oil, salt, peppers (just the basics really) and laundry detergent, as it is impossible for guests to buy a one-time or two-time supply of these items from any convenient store or supermarket. During our stay, there was constructions in the next building which woke us up every morning at 8 am, thus no sleeping even though we were on vacation. There were two balconies in our apartment, both of which face the rooftop of an abandoned building and a construction site.

Very clean Hotel/Apartment

We arrived to find the 1 bed apartment we booked was in a side road just along from the main hotel. Our first reaction was horror as it was adjacent to a large building site where heavy machinery was being used which was very noisy. The balcony overlooked the small side street and was not really suitable for sitting on. However, after the initial shock we realised it was not all bad.The apartment itself was large and very clean with daily servicing, bathroom cleaned and floors mopped with clean towels as required and clean sheets every couple of days. The noise from the building site generally ceased by 4.30 each day, so we were not really inconvenienced by this being out virtually all day and to be honest, it would be difficult to find any accommodation in Malta that is not close to the huge amount of building works that are currently occurring. All the hotel staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, reacting very quickly to any request. The kitchen/cooking facilities are quite basic, but more than adequate for a couple just wanting to prepare breakfast or snakes, whilst the washing machine was a real bonus. The sofa in the lounge area is a sofa bed, so whilst good for additional guests, it is not particularly comfortable to sit on.There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk and bus services and ferries just across the road, making it unnecessary to hire a car. All in all we had a very pleasant stay at 115 The Strand and would def stay again.

Comfortable apartment near Sliema ferry

This was a very comfortable apartment that was just off the Strand and only a short walk from the ferry over to Valletta. It was very spacious with laundry, good bathroom and kitchen so would be suitable for a longer stay. I thought it was excellent value for money.

Nice Place In Convenient Location

We enjoyed our stay at Strand Suites. We stayed at the apartments, which were around the block and off of the main strand from the hotel. The apartment was well equipped, practical, and comfortable. We appreciated welcome drinks and snacks that were served on the roof. The view is amazing.

Good spot to visit the main island of Malta

Apartments are around the corner about 100-200m from the hotel \"115 The Strand Hotel and Suites\" where you check-in/out. Great view from the hotel Terrace bar; view of construction from apartment \"balcony\". A very good location from which to explore the Valletta area and the main island of Malta. Frequent buses (nearby stop Possonby) to the main Valletta bus station. 5-10 minutes walk to the Sliema ferry to Valletta (every half hour, but service stops early when not summer - before June).

Very convenient/nicely decorated/Great value

The apartments were great value for money. Clean, spacious and you had everything you could possibly need staying away from home in an apartment. The only issue was the TV needed an adapter to work but we didn't have time to watch it so this was not an major problem.

Magical Malta

Absolute 5 star service from start to finish. Bridget was like our personal assistent taking care of all our needs. We traveled to Malta for our anniversary with our six month old son which was a little stressfull but Bridget arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport with a baby seat.The driver Took us directly to the hotel.Upon check in we learnt that we had been upgraded When entering the apartment we were greated with a bottle of wine and fruit plate with a hand writen card wishing us a happy anniversary. The apartment was above and beyond what we expected. Two bedrooms Two bathrooms and a large terrace with a partial sea view and wonderful city view with sun all day and amazing sunsets in the evening. The apartment was serviced daily and all the staff were very attentive and helpful. Thank you so much Bridget and the rest of the staff at strand suites for helping to make our vacation and unforgettable experience.

Rooms clean & spacious but views not as described

Check in staff weren't the friendliest but the room was clean, tidy and spacious and had great facilities. Our \"city view\" from the balcony was a \"view\" of a concrete courtyard and overlooking other apartments balconies, not really what we were expecting.

Clean and comfortable

Set up a side street away from the main drag, the apartment was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from flushing toilets coming from the central plumbing pipes outside the bedroom and bathroom windows. Noisy guests were also heard in the corridors, but overall our stay was enjoyable.
