A truly wonderful stay at The Londoner Silema.

A friendly professional greeting upon arrival and check in, and a room that didn’t disappoint. Spotlessly clean, spacious, modern and well designed. More than adequate space for storage/clothing etc, functional bathroom with multi outlet shower, and a very comfortable extra large double bed.

Location was ideal, right by the main promenade, near to the shops and abundance of restaurants and bars, without any noise pollution at all. There were also regular buses nearby to other parts of the island.

All the staff were professional and friendly, and the hotel restaurant offered a consistently well presented quality breakfast selection every day.

This hotel offers a quality stay in an ideal location at an affordable price without compromising the things that matter. Thank you The Londoner, I would both return and recommend.

The hotel is in a very good position to allow easy access for o buses and ferry to get around the island. The staff are good and friendly and attentive to your needs . The breakfast is served at the Hotel pub next door and has a good selection both hot and cold . We had a room facing the harbour and I would recommend this as others face other buildings . The bathroom was fine but showing signs of needing an overhaul. Would stay again

My second stay here but it won't be the last. Staff are friendly, beds are super comfortable and shower is hot with good
pressure. The rooms are well insulated from the night music from nearby bars, so no worries there. No comment on breakfast as I am not an early riser. I have been to Malta18 times and found my dream location in Sliema. Thank you, Londoner!

Pros - room was clean and spacious. Requested view of valetta and got it. Was very nice. Breakfast included was decent.

Cons - above a bar so 2 of the 4 nights it was loud til just past 11pm however. Unfortunately, theres construction next door that starts at 7AM. Also patio light goes on in the evening and cant turn it off.

Suggest to get a room at the back and higher. I was on the 5th flloor.

That bei g said it was okay cause i wanted to get up early and explore and inaleep late anyways....

Con’s : The deck furniture has seen better days.
Our shower was missing one door and the water leaked through the base as well as splashing out onto the floor.
The breakfast wasn’t that great. The bacon and sausage was very undercooked and the buffet setup needs work.

Great stay. Good location and staff very friendly and helpful, we had a problem with the aircon not switching off, but it was resolved as soon as we asked. Continental breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Only downside was the noise from the bar (we were on floor 3), didn’t bother us too much but was noticeable and went on quite late, so could bother others.

Room was a great size with a balcony overlooking where the island ferries moor. Shower was lovely. Bed was comfy but only skight gripe was only choice of harder or softer pillow. We could have done with one in-between, but we still slept ok. Rooms were quiet despite building work going on nearby. Reception went above and beyond when i needed to get something printed off for an evening out. Breakfast was fine but my partner being short struggled to sit down as breakfasts are served next door in the Londoner pub which only had bar stools.

The room was fine. It was clean and well sized. We opted for the 'city view', on the 12th floor this meant you looked directly into a building site (the builders waved to us each morning when they started banging away at 7am), if you are on a lower floor the city view will be a wall. The hotel obviously cant control what construction work is going on around, but if I have stayed anyway before where construction work may impact you, there has been some kind of forewarning or acknowledgment that this may inconvenience you during your stay. There is a distinct aroma of sewage when you enter the lobby, which is 'cleverly' diaguised with copious amounts of highly fragrant air freshener. The location does overlook a harbour, but there is a very busy main road running along the whole strip. The location serves its purpose as a base to go and visit other places, but for the price, this hotel is just not worth it. Stay in Valletta.

This was our first visit to Malta and the Londoner Hotel perfectly matched our needs. The location is very convenient for getting to Valletta on the ferry and for the various cruises and tours available around the islands. The hotel itself is modern and clean. We had a harbour view room which had a lovely view across to Valletta from the balcony (exactly as per the pictures on the hotel website - though it probably helped we had a room on the 12th floor).

The area around the hotel has plenty of bars and Restaraunts. Some can be a bit noisy but there are always alternatives. Otherwise it’s easy to pop across to Valletta for the evening where there are plenty of options. The Londoner itself has a bar and restaraunt which served decent food and drinks, as well as breakfast in the morning.

All in all, the hotel was a great find and one we would use again if in Malta.

We had a wonderful stay at The Londoner, it is in such a great location to travel to other places in Malta. The room was lovely, modern, clean and the seaview room had an exceptional view of Valletta both day and night. The staff were wonderful especially Ahmed & Marsia (not forgetting the hands on hotel manager who personally fixed our safe). They were always happy to greet us and help with anything needed. They are all a real credit to the hotel.

Quite the letdown

Definitely expected more out of this stay. We were told on arrival that the pool wasn’t available which was a big part of why we booked. Apparently the deal with a nearby pool club had stopped. They gave an alternative of one a 30-minute walk away which is far from ideal. The hotel offered nothing to compensate for this and no support to change our booking considering the difference from what was advertised. They ignored my direct requests and hotels.com requests to cancel the second half of a 4-night booking.

We would have happily booked elsewhere, especially since the room was not very comfortable. The bed was very hard with either a massive pillow or a thin lumpy pillow. The bathroom sink is comically big and takes up the entire counter space and it’s one of those showers with no door so water splashes all over the floor. Breakfast is just fine and didn’t add anything to our trip.

No chance I’d book there again and suggest you could find a better option.

Stay away from the hotel!
Extremely overpriced for the condition, you can find 5 stars hotels cheaper price. Looks much worse than photos and dirty as well. Ceiling is just pure concrete and overall looks like very cheap motel.

Area around is very dirty with trash on the street and smell.

Overall the room was comfortable to sleep in and staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could be. However I did book a room with city views with balcony what I got was buildings upon buildings with no views. To make matters worse there were builders that could see straight into my room as could other people living in those buildings so my curtain remained closed and couldn’t use the balcony to relax with a wine or anything which was upsetting.

Had problems with the penthouse suite & although the hot tub was cleaned & glass surrounding it on the balcony, this only happened after I wrote a review. The chair & sofa had some discussing stains on the fabric(didn’t need to use your imagination to what it could be) after complaining & actually showing a supervisor it still didn’t get cleaned. When they say they clean your room they give you fresh towels & make your bed,
As it was a special Birthday to Malta I was very disappointed. Expedia perhaps needs to look at what hotels they are promoting, as was not worth the money.

Perfectly located hotel for ferry trips/sightseeing tours, shops and restaurants. Excellent decor and comfortable suite. Brilliant air conditioning. Loved being able to sit on the balcony and take in the magnificent view from the fourteenth floor. Comfortable bed and spacious room, complete with fridge and effective sound proofing. The rooms were nice and spacious. The breckfast was just ok - nothing special. It would have been better if they put fresh bread out every day and not rock hard rolls that diddnt get taken from the day before.

Overall the area was quite noisy - which wasn't necessarily a problem from higher floors but from lower floors could have been very annoying.

My main gripe with this hotel and the reason I cannot rate it higher than one star was the air conditioning. It became quite obvious that the owners diddnt want the rooms to be able to control their own air conditioning, despite the rooms all having individually adressable climate controls. This led to a routine of going to the reception, arguing with the owners to turn the AC on for it to get swapped off 1 hour later. There were other people complaining of the same problem. After 4 days of complaining they finally let me set my own AC in my room, but claimed this wasn't possible earlier.

For almost 100 euros a night i expect a lot better than this penny pinching behaviour.
For the price charged this is extremely mean behaviour

No Support After Hours – Be Prepared for Frustration!
The rooms are not soundproof, and the hotel is poorly managed. Maintenance and housekeeping are only available during the day—so if you encounter any issues in the evening, good luck getting help. Reception staff are not equipped to handle much, and the manager is never on site. Overall, there’s little support for guests when it’s actually needed.

The Sliema Londoner exceeded our expectations. I cannot say enough nice things about the professionalism of the front desk staff.

The proximity to ferry service, boat excursions, and food options was terrific. When the hotel says 'breakfast included', they mean a full spread buffet plus the option to custom order egg preparations...and it is all good! Our harbor view was so nice, that I use an image of it as my computer's background screen.

We requested and paid for a room with a view and we got a great view. David at the front desk was frinedly and quick.
Breakfast was unacceptable for the price paid for the room $170. Coffee was undrinkable, coming out of an auful machine, although breakfast was offered at the hotel bar. It is unacceptable for the price not to offer humanly brewed coffee. Eggs and omellete were not freshly made.
There is construction going on at the building next to the one next to the hotel. Although not the hotel's fault, drilling started at 7 a.m. on a Monday morning. David at the front desk was kind enough to offer a late checkout.

I recently stayed at The Londoner this past weekend with my husband for a short vacation. I travel frequently for work and always prioritize comfort, which is why I chose your hotel. Given the premium price of over €150 per night, I had high expectations.

Unfortunately, several issues significantly impacted our stay. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the ceiling wasn’t fully painted — a surprising oversight. The room temperature was also difficult to regulate; it was either too hot or too cold, with no comfortable balance. While this was manageable, what followed was not.

The shower was leaking badly, with water reaching all the way to the entrance door. We reported this to reception, and were told a technician would come the next day — or that we might be moved to a different room. However, the issue persisted the next day, and we were informed the technician likely didn't come because it was Sunday. This raises an important concern: how can a hotel of this standard not have technical support available during weekends, especially during peak guest turnover?

Additionally, no offer was made to change our room that day, despite the clear discomfort. The leaking water left visible footprints in the room, and even after housekeeping had been through, the stains remained — a sign that the cleaning was not thorough.

The day before leaving I informed the receptionist that I would be dropping key off early in the morning and she let me know they would have a box of food ready for me on my way out. I would definitely come back. Also perfect location since it is next to the ferries. Blue Lagoon boat ride is a must.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were very accommodating. The location was great and the scenery from the balcony very interesting.
I found it interesting that you only got bottled water on the day that you checked in even though the coffee and tea was supplied each day, there was no water to make it. It was unclear if the water from the top was OK to drink or just unpleasant. We had to go out and buy our own bottled water. The glasses in the room were not really taken and washed in a dishwasher properly they were cleaned in the sink in my bathroom, which I didn’t find appropriate. I wondered if that’s how they had cleaned them between guests too.
As there is a bar in the hotel, I found it noisy at night and too noisy to eat your dinner there.
I think with a few revisions to their health and safety practises and scheduling of the music in the bar, this would be a great place to stay.

No faults at all with this hotel, right on the harbour front with amazing views of Valletta, it is on a main road so noise is to be expected but once the patio doors are shut you can’t hear anything!

Staff very friendly and helpful, it was my partners birthday and without asking decorated the room on the day of her birthday, just a nice little touch.

Rooms very clean, has everything you need and a good hairdryer, tea coffee milk sugar topped up daily, amazing air con and rooms really stylish.

Super king bed really comfortable with big comfy pillows, breakfast is your normal buffet style so; scrabbled egg, hard boiled egg, danish bacon, sausages, Heinz beans, then you have the option of difference breads, pastries and fruits and salads. Also do gluten free options on request but ask before you come.

Perfectly located to public transport bus/ferry, restaurants, bars, shops, waterfront and the promenade, The Londoner Hotel, is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are large spacious clean and stylish, with facilities such as a AC/fridge/ hairdryer/ kettle. The bed is large and very comfortable. The views from the balcony of the waterfront are breathtakingly fabulous, morning noon and night. The rooms are soundproof so once the patio doors are closed it’s silent. I stayed for four nights and slept soundly each night.

The breakfast is delicious, with multiple choices (cooked traditional breakfast, eggs, tomatoes, beans, continental selection of cold meats cheese, pastries, fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereal, toast/bread rolls etc).

Most importantly, the staff in the hotel/bar/ restaurant are so nice and friendly, particularly David who worked on the Hotel reception desk, he went above and beyond with his level of help and support, from sorting my room request, advice regarding the local area/trips, helpings with my taxi booking, nothing was too much trouble.

I would highly recommend this hotel, it is perfect in every way. I will definitely be retuning.

Stayed at The Londoner for 4 nights at the end of April. I want to highlight that the staff are absolutely wonderful and a real credit to the hotel. We felt so welcomed and they were always happy to help us with any questions we had.

Pros:
-Great location for getting around to other areas in Malta, also lots of restaurants nearby and a few shops
-Modern hotel and our room (14th floor, back) was mostly soundproof - construction work was audible on certain mornings but we didn't hear any noise from nearby bars
-Amenities were good, towels nice and pillows plump
-The breakfast!!! I don't know why some people are negative about this. It was an absolute highlight for me, excellent selection of food including mini pastizzi which was fortunate as this ended up being the only place I tried them.
-Balcony

Cons:
-The air-conditioning...while booking I thought this would be great but I didn't realise you couldn't change the temperature, only the fan speed. As the weather increases in temperature, I can't say this works well and in summer it must be stifling. We resorted to talking cold showers & removed our duvets from the covers as a temporary solution.
-The bathroom light had a timer on which we were not told about. This meant one person would be in the shower and the light would switch off. The hotel probably wouldn't suit someone staying alone very well due to this.
-Bottle of water not refilled despite Maltese tap water not being drinkable(said staff)
-Mattress was very firm

Modern functional hotel in a good base to explore Malta. What needs improvement: first impressions when we arrived the music from the bars was so loud we couldn’t hardly hear the receptionist and he made no reference or apology for this. Luckily it was only very loud on Saturday night and I packed ear plugs- perhaps offer these in each room to guests. The room was serviced daily and kept clean and tidy, we stayed for a week though and after a few days the window and balcony was dirty due to high winds blowing up dirt, it would have been nice for this to have been recognised and cleaned. Also due to high winds the hot tub cover kept blowing off and smashing against the window. The straps on the cover need fixing. The breakfast ingredients were of poor quality, I regretted booking breakfast as we ate out twice just for better produce and more variety- every day was the same. The smell is the reception area is like sewerage and needs to be investigated as it’s very off putting. All in all a functional hotel but overpriced for what it was.

Nice central location, room and view were very nice, as advertised. The windows in our room were good at blocking out sound, which is important since the pub on the ground floor can be quite noisy at night. But all in all a very pleasant experience.

the hotel is in nice location and easy excess to many sightseeing locations. However, the area is really noise, the bed is supper hard ( feels like you sleep on wooden planks, and way to narrow even for an average person, pillows are made of rocks).

The Londoner is in a great location.
Although it’s on a busy road and below bars and restaurants, you cannot hear a thing when you’re in the room.
The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Great hotel in a great location. It feels brand new and although when we first arrived we were worried about the noise from the busy bar (we arrived about 9pm), the soundproofing is fantastic and we honestly couldn’t hear a thing in our room (we were on floor 6 at the front of the building). And we actually liked the vibrant bar downstairs and drank there both nights and had some food too. Really good live singers on the first night and a dj on the next.
The team were welcoming and spent time to show us information about the island on the big touchscreen in reception.
