Great stay at \"Follow the Sun\"
Someone recommended this hostel and I'm glad they did. I do not know of any other hostel that includes breakfast and it is very good ( my only tip would be for breakfast is to provide a selection of \"mini crossiants\" rather than cakes with your coffee! The staff are really friendly and helpful too! I also like how the cleaner cleans your room everyday and making everything look clean ( shout out to the CLEANER'S, THANK YOU)

I went during off peak season so I had a fairly quiet stay. The staff at the hostel was friendly. The room looked a bit outdated with no decor whatsoever but the bed was comfy and the shower was decent. The breakfast was free which was a plus. There wasn’t any social activities organised by the hostel. The location was nice and it’s easy to get around by foot or by bus.

Each bed has privacy curtains, there are toilet, two showers, two sinks in the room. XL locker drawer under the beds. The pool area is nice. Breakfast 7:30-10 with a nice view! ATM very close. Very helpful and friendly staff. Booked a boat tour to Gozo at the reception. Bus stops are minutes away. There was a large group of teenagers there who were often quite loud in the evenings even after quiet hours, they were gathered at the far end by the pool but could still hear them well. Nevertheless it was a nice stay

Hostel has recently changed management, hence, we could not pay with card (cash or wire transfer only). In addition, card system for rooms did not work, had to use keys.
Staff is amazing, they knew the answers to all my problems. Breakfast is available between 7.30-10.00, i loved eating and watching the sea.
SPAR express and bottle deposit returning machine are all in 5-mins walk distance.

This hostel was a really nice place to go for my first ever solo travel experience. I felt safe and the area was a perfect location to get to lots of different places in Malta. Easy transport service. I highly recommend getting the 222 bus as this will get you to where you want to be both places around the island. Thank you for having me and can't wait to stay here again

Stayed in room 208 for 3 nights.
The room had 6 bunks, A/C, two fans, a table, 3 chairs and there was still plenty of room. Each bunk has a locker underneath the bottom bunk large enough to fit even a large backpack. Each bunk has privacy curtains, private light, two sockets, a very thin sheet to use as a blanket. One of the sockets is used for private light though. The mattress was soft. Too soft for my personal tastes, but it was okay.
The bathroom was private to the room. Not ensuite, but directly opposite the room. In the bathroom was a WC and two showers. It was okay in terms of cleanliness, but the silicone really needs to be replaced with mould growing. There's also not much ventilation and expect to get hot and sweaty after a shower. Water pressure was okay and no problem getting hot water.
Breakfast was included and there's a buffet with cooked food, choices of cereal, tea, coffee and juices. The cooked food includes scrambled eggs, baked beans and bacon.
WiFi is available throughout the hotel, although it's unsecured. It works well.
The hotel is located close to Balluta Bay and approximately the middle of a hill. I've only tried getting to Valletta via the ferry and it's about a 15-20 minutes walk to the port.
Overall I had a good stay. There's limited AC around the hotel and the AC in the room is only switched on at certain times. Guests had to ask more than once for it to be turned on. The provided breakfast is varied enough for 3 days

I think it’s the best area on the island.
I love best the garden.
Everything is very clean and there is a good atmosphere there. We can get the buses easily. It’s 2 minutes walk to the bay. There are shops, restaurants, beautiful beaches nearby.

The staff here have been really friendly and helpful and I have enjoyed my stay so far! The nicest hostile I have stayed at, I really enjoying the garden, hammock area, pool area, kitchen and lounge area, and the front entrance area outside where you eat breakfast. A great place for sure!

Everything is good at that hostel, social, breakfast was good, toast with jam, honey, ham, cheese, also some eggs, tea, coffee, cereal. Pool area is great, pool not cleaned everyday, the only bad thing is noise, because you can hear everything from outside, so not good for light sleepers. Anyway, would recommend staying :)

The hostel would have been amazing. The staff is super nice and caring and the overall atmosphere is awesome. They have super nice workspaces. Unfortunately the A/C wasn’t on in any of the rooms ( as requested by some of the other travelers) and it was incredibly hot, stuffy and moist in the room. During a pandemic it felt rather dangerous to sleep in such a stuffy room. Probably best to stay in spring.

BAD for a holiday great for imigrants, retirees
More of a gross no security half way house then a nice safe social hostel. No social vibe here at all because Most people are long term stayng immigrants and poor creepy retired old men who get very agressive and rude with you becsuse they are so burnt out with months of the crowded atomsphere here. Which is why they need a two week limit here. Cause For the 150 guest they get per night many faclities are broken, no working wifi and very poorly managed and secured and the long term people are burnt out with it. Lots of food gets stolen over night by homeles people who also come in sleeping on the bean bags and pick through kitchen. The staff Dogs are peeing everywhere. Staff are unwilling to deal with all the chaos or accomodate you when u r feeling unsafe with the long term creeps. So all in all not meant for tourist if you are looking for a clean, safe, social and well upkept environment. I had guest and staff get aggressive with me over using a microwave nd common area to talk on phone and so forth.

As a very experienced hostel stayer, my overall opinion of inhawi hostel was very poor for cleanniess, especially in the kitchen area an the fridge area, they was wet floors from leaks which made making a meal a traumatic experience for myself and other guests.
Breakfast which was included in the price was in the building outside, was very very poor with the same items every morning during my two weeks there, may i add only 1double toaster for all guests also..

This hostel is very, very clean and rooms are modern and minimalistic. I slept very well here which meant I was fresh for exploring the next day. There is good under-bunk storage (provide your own padlock) and a swipe card entry system. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome. In the 12 bed girls dorm there is only 1 toilet but I know the other dorms have more, even the ones with less beds. I’d have liked a few more breakfast options and maybe a small shop to be able to purchase large bottles of water (only small ones in the vending machine) and a plastic recycling bin for water bottles (as drinking tap water is not advisable so you can go through a lot) none of the above are points for criticism, just suggestions and I absolutely would recommend this hostel to anyone and 100% stay here again!

The hostel was in a great location with a pool, really nice hostel, good rooms, the showers are not the best, attached to the wall at waist height and have to use it hand held, getting changed in the rooms after a shower is hot and sweaty as the air con doesn’t work from about 8am-8pm. Good deal for the area
This is one of the cleanest hostels I have stayed in. I appreciate the bathroom showers using glass doors instead of curtains, feels much more sanitary. The beds were moderately comfortable. The room was a tad cold for sleeping even with the provided blanket but the weather was cooler than normal. The hostel was a tad noisy in the evening hours from the common area but quieted down about 1-2AM. The storage lockers had generous space. I appreciate the included continental breakfast though nothing special. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tips and help for the area. Local transit 5 min walk.

Great location easy to travel to various locations, nearest bus stop just down the road. As a female travelling by myself this was a great place to relax by the pool but also meet lovely people including the staff that worked here who were extremely helpful & knowledgeable about what to do in Malta & how to get there.

Fiorst solo holiday. BnB in great location very friendly and helpful staff obviously its shared rooms but I was very lucky with the people I was sharing with very nice chilled out travellers... Otherwise could be a nightmare nothing to do with the staff

Had a great 4 night stay at inhawi.. one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! Stayed in a 6 girl dorm room that had two showers, one toilet and sink. There was a fan and working air con. Cleaners came by everyday! Not even a 5 min walk to the bus stop and great central location :)

Nice and comfortable hostel
Nice and comfortable Hostel. I was booked in 10 bed room, however while check in I was upgraded to 6th bed room. My room was on top floor, room was spacious, had an en-suite bathroom and a large size balcony. The view from balcony was amazing. The receptionists in the hostel were very helpful and breakfast was ok. The overall decor and location of the hostel was excellent. Would recommend all.

Simply chic & beyond expectation
This is a budget, mini luxury hostel. Simple breakfast, so don't expert a la carte menu as per the room rate. Its close to the St Julian's boat harbour. So many restaurants for fine dining around. You can also ask reception to help place an online order for food & also get information for fun tours and trips around Malta. Close to bus stop that could take you major areas like Cirkewwa Bay, Valletta & Sliema. Very safe at night. A few pubs and places you can hang out late. Picture perfect for amazing scenery. The staff of the hostel are young, vibrant and friendly. A good chill out spot in the hostel as well as clean kitchen to make your meals. Very much recommend to solo travellers, group travel buddies and even families.

Great stay at Inhawi. Staff very nice, location is ideal and close to bus line. There are a few grocery stores and shopping within walking distance. Laundry services start at 3 Euro and go up to 4 depending on if you need soap and the dryer. The pool area is nice, however I did not get in the pool. The morning breakfast is refreshing. My two complaints are 1. The air is cut off at 7am until 9 pm.so the room gets stuffy. 2. When housekeeping comes in they leave the room open after they are finished to circulate air Im sure however it allows for mosquitoes to come in as well which sucks.

The hostel is in a convenient location for St Julian's. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are generally quite clean.
The room I stayed in had a lovely sea view and air conditioning from 9pm to 8am which was helpful when going to sleep.
The only minor issues I had were that there is loud music outside the hostel morning and night, this isn't the hostels fault as there are a lot of bars and restaurants around it.
The other issue I had was that the hostel says breakfast is served until 10, well one morning I got to the breakfast at 9-40 and wanted to have a quick coffee and toast before an excursion. There were no clean mugs and no bread or milk left, when I asked the two men who were working if I could get some but I was told that breakfast was over. I pointed out that it was until 10, the one guy left and said he would get more bread while the other guy wouldn't get me a clean mug or milk as he was insisting breakfast is over. I eventually left and paid for breakfast elsewhere.
If this is how they operate then there should be something saying that it runs until everything is finished rather then an allocated time.

Honestly the best hostel I stayed in. Supposedly it was originally a monastery. Great location steps from the water and cafes. A beautiful back garden with hammocks and a very clean pool. The building itself was bright and airy, huge kitchen and common area all brand new, and nicely decorated. If I hadn't been sharing a room with 7 other women I would have forgotten I was in a hostel!

Unfortunately I have to give this pretty hostel 2 stars. The first star is for the communal areas such as the pool and the little garden with the hammocks. The second star is for the location.
First - When I checked it was was put into a mixed dorm when I booked a women only room. I paid extra for this room and booked it for a reason. I complained and was moved to what I thought was a female dorm. I had 3 nights with women only and then was a guy turned up in the room. We went to complain and then we were told that another guy was checking in on the same day! There were also 3 other girls in a similar situation. Two of the other girls were complaining everyday before too! Eventually, after meeting the boss the next day I was given and refund for the 4 nights when I had males in the room. The staff made a lot of excuses which made me really mad. If you don't have the rooms, don't advertise them! Then the boss told us to 'adapt' and that we were making overselves unhappy by complaining. Very unhappy with this! I just wanted what I booked and paid for. Very bad service.
Second - the room. We were put in the basement. Only one exit up the stairs which wasn't very safe if there was a fire! Only 4 under bed lockers for 6 beds (they put the other 2 in after my complaint), mould and missing ceiling tiles in the bathroom. The cleaners look like they do barely anything (bathroom was a state for 2 days) and they only put on the air conditioning overnight.

Good for the Price
The hostel is good and well priced for what you get. There were a few things that were not clear in the ad. The breakfast is toast and fruit. The internet is not strong, and when sharing a large dormitory with a lack of breeze through the windows, it is important to be able to use the air conditioning. However, we are only allowed to turn it on at 21:00 hours to 7:00 hours. For most days, the temperature in the room was 28 C. So there was not much \"getting out of the heat\" if you needed to. That being said, the staff was really great, and the hostel is large and still very clean. We met a lot of great travelers from all over the world.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided many suggestions on places to see. I greatly appreciated the knowledge of the staff. Most hostels employ visitors who do not know the area and cannot provide advice. I had a wonderful time in Malta because of them. The hostel was very clean, safe, welcoming, and had great community areas to socialize with others. It was one of my best hostel experiences in three months backpacking through Europe.

Great hostel overall! The only thing I’d mention is the smell in girls bedroom, due to mold on the walls. Nothing unbearable though.
The hostel offers breakfast (I didnt try it), has a pool, offers towel, blankets on the bed, curtains on the beds… amazing service offers for the price you pay! And the location is amazing, in front of one of the main beaches in St Julian.

Excellent ! From the rooms to the general mood, this was all I was expecting from a hostel ! Nice and friendly staff, my room was clean and the big plus was the pool, heaven on Earth ! I would recommend to everybody and would definitely come back as soon as possible ! The breakfast is super and it's the perfect place for solo tripper looking for friends :)

J’ai passé une semaine à Malte dans cet établissement et je suis loin d’être déçue. Expérience au top, je n’ai rien à redire : personnel multilingue et adorable, auberge propre, accueillante, jolie, équipée en tout point. Elle est située à proximité de tout, super bien desservie et l’organisation est parfaite. Merci encore au personnel qui est toujours disponible en cas de besoin. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

really nice hostel in perfect location. Even breakfast is included but dont expect too much..I really enjoy the room but also the common space available. Big hostel but with plenty of space so never felt cramp. Definitely my first choice in Malta.

One of the best Hostels I ever stayed in, best in Malta. Only downside, if you want to sleep or take a nap during day time you can not darken the room at all, curtains for the door and or the beds would be a much appreciated addition. Staff was super nice as well as the breakfast.
