This hotel was a great find, clean, modern but still keeping the Maltese charm with the old stonework.
Staff were very helpful, and pleasant.
Breakfast was very good. Didn't use the pool, it was December after all.
Pity about the weather, but didn't stop us enjoying a nice few days.

Overall a great stay at Palazzo Violetta.
A ten minute walk to Sliema waterfront or Baletta Bay, so close to the tourist bars, restaurants and shops but also away from the hustle and bustle when you want a quiet night's sleep.
Room was clean, spacious although a little dated - large solid wood desk and wardrobe. A really minor point overall.
Breakfast was excellent and varied - although the coffee machine needs replaced as it regularly took 5 attempts to get it to part with an espresso!
All the staff were excellent. Every single one courteous, polite and helpful.
Would happily stay there again.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel the staff were Fantastic in every aspect the breakfast was beautiful and the lovley chef cooked me an omelette every morning and it was beautiful. Prakash was just perfect making sure everyones needs was catered for he was a very lovley gentleman. The rooms amazing but on saying that everywhere was amazing from you opening the door till you left. What a gem of a find if ever I come to Malta again I'm 100% certain I'd try and get in here thank you for making it an amazing stay

The staff are excellent. All very professional and they go above and beyond. The hotel is on a quiet street you are assured of a decent nights sleep. Good memory foam mattress and pillows. It’s only about a 10/15 minute walk down to the promenade where you can access buses and ferries to Valletta.

There was no complimentary water in room.
This hotel has no welcoming ambience.
It has an exterior that is pleasing but no warmth.
Expensive for what it is.
The area is very touristy, Branded shops M&S and Zara, very busy. Good spot for the Valetta ferry.

Great location in Sliema! The hotel is nestled between St. Julian’s Bay and Sliema seafronts. The hotel is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, about 10-15 minute walk to either seafront location. There are small cafes, local bars, a pharmacy, and a mini market near the hotel. It was easy for excursion meet up points, the buses and to take the ferry. There are tons of restaurants, bars and cafes by the water along the Sliema seafront or St Julien’s Bay. It’s a beautiful, boutique hotel with a very accommodating & friendly staff. If you don’t mind a bit of walking, we would highly recommend it as a lovely & perfect place to stay. Located on a quite back road between Sliema and St Julian's and easy walking distance from each area without the need to use the bus service which takes the longer route via the prom.

An old building having been very well restored in keeping with other surrounding buildings.

Clean throughout and will consider visiting again when next in Malta.

This is a unique property in an old building which has been restored, in our view there isn't much sound proofing between the rooms as we could hear chairs being moved in neighbouring rooms and people chatting in the corridor and an argument in reception one morning. The person that checked us in was lovely and extremely helpful, but another staff member was unhelpful when I asked for ear plugs, even suggesting that the noises were imaginary.
The spiral stairs were also noisy and getting a suit case up them difficult, with the bathroom on the lower level night times were fun.
Lighting was mostly with spot lights (plus 2 bedside lamps on the upper level) which were very bright, adding a floor lamp on the lower levelwould be a good idea.
Apart from 2 metal chairs on the balcony the only other seating was the sofa bed which wasn't comfortable, given the room was sold as accomodating 4 people a 2 person sofa seems somewhat lacking.
The kitchenette was useful but there wasn't really space to store anything we purchased without a lot of moving things around. It did have a decent selection of plates, glasses etc and even a t-towel and washing up liquid.
Privacy might be an issue for a family as the glass partition between the living space and bathroom doesn't lock and is only frosted in the middle.
The breakfast option is useful with hot and cold choices, there are shops near by and cafes about 10 minutes away as an alternative.

Our room was very spacious with axnuce view of the pool (a rarity) in the old quarter. The only comment i would say, is, make sure you wear your walking shoes as the hill up from the bay is quite taxing. Good to walk off dinner & drinks. Special thx to Diago (top guy)

Property is up a hill from Sliema front. We are used to hills but not the 34 degree (feels like 38 degree) heat. But if you don't want to walk there are plenty of taxis and public transport.

Good choice at breakfast with either cooked breakfast or continental. Hotel is in a residential area so relatively quiet. Walk to sea front takes about 15mins and is all downhill, coming back takes a bit longer. You can get a taxi from the sea front to hotel for approx 3 euros.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palazzo Violetta at the end of April 2024. The hotel is spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful and we will stay here again, it is a very good location for buses/ferries but we will request a different room. We were located at the front of the hotel and it was quite noisy, we could have asked to move rooms but did not want to re-pack so we just endured the noise. The walk back to the hotel is all uphill which is fine if you are mobile. There are not many restaurants within immediate walking distance however there were more along the seafront facing Valletta. There are a few coffee shops within walking distance, but prices seemed to vary, we were able to request coffee from the bar in the hotel which was helpful. Our room had a mini-kitchen but only with instant coffee which we do not drink and there is a small supermarket within walking distance. I would recommend Hotel Palazzo Violetta as a place to stay when in Malta.

We had a very nice stay at Palace Violetta. The hotel is on a quiet street set a few minutes walk from the potentially noisy harbour. Jurgen and his staff are all very helpful. We took advantage of the airport collection that was arranged by the hotel which was excellent. The buffet breakfast was good and there are tables outside by the pool. We stayed three days - but would have been happy to stay longer.

A beautiful hotel in a quiet neighbourhood of Sliema, it is perfect walking distance to Balluta bay, St Julian’s and Sliema. There are many lovely restaurants in the immediate local area, plus little mini marts selling bottled water and snacks. We found all of the staff here were really friendly and helpful, we had breakfast on a couple of the days and it did not disappoint. They had a wide variety of food to cater to all and offered a variety of hot and cold drinks. The hotel room was beautiful and spotless, with a mini bar (paid extras) and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. House keeping were brilliant, very trustworthy and worked around your needs. Local transport links are just around the corner with multiple bus stops along the road, and a ten minute walk to the ferry at Sliema, that gets you to Valetta in less than 15 minutes and is much more enjoyable than the bus journey! I would highly recommend this hotel and would visit again when I next stay in Malta! Ten out of ten.

Lovely property and good location. Room very spacious and clean. Fast internet and super friendly staff.
Only criticism was the noise, mainly from other guests. Unfortunately they let their children plan in the corridor, lots of screaming and laughter, at 11pm for quite some time and the staff didn’t seem to do anything. I waited for around 40 minutes and was about to get up to call reception and they went quiet thankfully. I thought the staff would have intervened by this point as you could hear it through every floor as the place has beautiful original flooring that let’s sound carry. Other than this slight issue, a wonderful stay. Many thanks

Diego and Jurgen were responsive to any requests - they made check-in and check-out a pleasure - organised our taxi to the airport and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is clean, beds comfy, and kitchenette well equipped. We loved our stay. We are in our 60’s and reasonably fit - but Palazzo Violeta is about a ten minute walk uphill from Billuto Bay, so that’s something to be aware of. To us, it was worth the walk.

Great location to explore Valletta and St Juliens

We went off season - Dec, so it was quiet. We were offered a free room upgrade as there was work on in the new wing.. the room was spacious, with a balcony, a well stocked bar and a good bathroom. There was a small pool at the back which was usable even though it was cold. Great base to discover the heart of the old architecture in the area, and very walkable to the Valletta ferry and the bars / restos in St. Julien. Staff were polite and helpful... The bits which could be improved - clear pricing on the use of the car park >> The hotel charged 30% more than the quoted price on hotels.com, and despite having double glazed balcony doors, we felt the room had fine dust on the floor...

Sydney, a staff member, directed me to restaurants and places of interest. The pool was lovely. Airconditioning worked great. And, the room was well equipped, high ceilinged, clean and comfortable.

Lovely hotel but room spoilt by having a wet room shower that had not been installed properly, so water moved across floor to flood into bedroom. Attempt to fix it after I mentioned it was another bodged job.
It was not a big deal and I just laid a barrier of towels across the doorway to catch the flooding, but a shame fir such a nice room and hotel otherwise.

The Hotel is in a narrow residential street. The hotel is small at 20 rooms but feels very well laid out and spacious. As with all Malta building work can be heard nearby but not very close so as to shake the building.
The reception staff were very helpful and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable.
Breakfast was simple enough to order and the quality was very good.

Beautiful boutique hotel with lots of ambiance, very clean, nice check-in, comfortable beds, nice continental and cooked-to-order egg breakfast, nice pool, tastefully decorated rooms and public area of hotel, nice artwork. Convenient location in Sliema, bordering Gzkira and St. Julians. Walking distance to Sliema ferries, Balluta Bay, all major bus stops, shopping and restaurants. Fast connection to Valetta by bus. It's a bit of a walking distance uphill from Sliema Ferries, but very manageable. Some nights we did not have hot water for a shower, but water was always hot in the mornings. All in all a great experience in a one of a kind beautiful and stylish boutique hotel. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

A nice boutique hotel with great service

A nice hotel experience. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. They offered us umbrellas to use during the day when the weather was poor. They also had a shuttle service to and from the airport which was reasonably-priced (40 euros for a large van) and had a child seat for our 1-year-old to use. Great service from the drivers as well. The wait staff in the breakfast area in the morning were also very nice, provided us with great service, and went out of their way to ensure that our family was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and very filling and for 10 euros per person it was a very economical option. The room itself was large by European standards and the bathroom appeared to have been recently remodeled. For whatever reason our soap was not restocked during our stay and on a few days the garbage cans were not emptied in the room during servicing. The beds were average as far as comfort is concerned but the rooms were largely quiet in terms of street noise. There was one evening when some other guests were quite loud and we got to hear their entire conversation in the hallway for about 20 minutes. Otherwise, a good experience overall and I would definitely recommend the hotel with one exception. The location is average, not great; guests will need to be ready to walk at least ten or more minutes to get to nearby public transport options. This wasn’t a problem for us but might be more difficult for mobility-limited guests.

Great property on a street away from lots of traffic movements, we only had breakfast on one day, but the range of food on offer was excellent. The Hotel is located 10mins away from the main bus routes, which is just OK if you've only carrying hand luggage. Like the fact that the bus & ferry terminals are located with a 5 to 10min walk, which is great for getting around the island & to & from the airport.

Cute hotel - bad WiFi, mediocre Service

Picked this hotel based on several mentions in blog posts and online reviews. The hotel was cute, quaint, clean, and comfortable. Continental breakfast was as expected. Good but nothing special for 10 euro. Internet quality was terrible, couldn’t even load a web page on a smart phone most of the time. We notified the staff several times and nothing was done about this. Additionally, we were hoping to have the hotel’s guidance on local tours, etc. the two times we spoke to hotel staff about this the answer we got was “there are brochures in your room.” The location isn’t bad, but it’s a 10-15 min walk downhill to get to an decent restaurants or the waterfront (which means uphill walk at the end of the day/night). If returning to Malta I’d likely stay elsewhere mostly due to location and internet.

We had such a lovely stay at Palazzo Violetta. Would highly recommend it to anyone! The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was so clean. Because it’s a small hotel it has a really homey, intimate feel about it. I love the original features, and the decor was very stylish!
We were a little confused by the breakfast, we thought that continental was included but you just had to pay for cooked (which we did one morning and it was lovely!) turns out you have to pay for both. But if you book directly through the hotel it’s included. So we’ll know for next time as would really like to go back here!

Martin at the front desk made our trip extremely easy. He was friendly and attentive and very helpful in recommending where to eat asked if we needed adapters for our phones . Overall wonderful.

The staff were all very helpful and kind. The location is wonderful, just a short walk from everything you could need (restaurants, shops, bars, the ferry to Valletta and bus stops). The pool was absolutely lovely and breakfast was delicious. We had a really wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
