Pros - Good breakfast, beautiful seaview room on floor 5. Emma at reception was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Great location for exploring Valletta and the 3 cities. Room clean, warm and cosy.
Cons - We booked a double and twin and ended up with two doubles. Lift tiny and very slow. Smell of rotten egg from bathroom. Bathroom tiny, sat on toilet my knees touched the sink and stood at sink my thigh touched the shower cubicle. Roof terrace not open due to refurbishment which had not been advised at the time of booking. Breakfast room quite crammed in, wouldn’t like to see it in high season!
Aside from the cons I would recommend this hotel as a base for exploring and I would return if the price was as cheap as we paid this time.

The swiming pool pictures not is the hotel, is the restaurant in front the hotel. The sauna and hot tube is in NOVOTEL same company but need walking until the facilities.
Need take out the swimming pool in website.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at the Bayview Hotel in Valletta, Malta.
One of the main reasons we chose and booked your hotel was for the spa facilities. On our first day, when we attempted to use the spa, we were informed not by hotel staff but by a builder on site that the spa would be closed for three days due to construction work. This information was not communicated to us at any point prior to booking, during the booking process via Expedia, on your website, or at check-in. Had we been made aware of this in advance, we would have chosen alternative accommodation with fully available amenities.
After enquiring at reception ourselves, we were informed that we could use a spa at another hotel instead. While this was offered, it was not a suitable substitute for the on-site facilities we specifically booked and paid for.
On the second day of our stay, the building work noise became extremely loud and disruptive throughout the day. The noise levels were such that we were unable to relax or enjoy our short break. I have recordings available which clearly demonstrate the severity of the disturbance. Once again, no prior warning was provided regarding these works — neither before booking nor upon arrival at the hotel. We only became aware through the builders and our own enquiries.
The lack of transparency regarding both the spa closure and the ongoing construction works significantly impacted our stay and resulted in a disappointing experi

Loved the vibrant location, and the bus stop right in front of the hotel was convenient. However, the room was uncomfortably warm. I was told the hotel uses a central heating/cooling system and had already switched to heating for winter. I’ve never encountered this in a hotel before considering hotels have international guests with different preferences, guests should be able to control their own room temperature.
On my second night, loud voices in the corridor woke me up. I tried calling reception to report it, but the room phone didn’t work. On the fourth day, I was woken again, this time by continuous door slamming, likely from housekeeping.
It’s a shame, because the hotel has potential however the really warm room in particular made the experience less pleasant for me.

Excellently located (10 mins to ferry) £10 uber to Airport and less to Valleta old town. Amazing views across the harbour from our seaview room (512). The room was clean and had what we needed for a short weekend stay. Good breakfast. Nice bar area. Rooftop pools could do with some attention (tiling mainly) but you can access the gorgeous Aqualuna complex opposite. Only strange one for us was the daily after 3pm cleaning of the room which was quite inconvenient given we'd been out all day!

Here is some feedback for the awful visit to your hotel. Firstly, we paid for a hotel at the location we wanted, which included hot drink facility in the room, breakfast, swimming pool, spa and gym. On the first day we got there, we were told we had to stay at a different hotel. Good customer service would apologies and out you in the same level, or upgraded hotel, we were put in, what would essentially be described as, a hostel.

Now, let me describe what this “hostel” was like. Not only were all the amenities we PAID for not included: no swimming pool, spa, gym, breakfast or hot drink facilities in the room. The self service kettle which was provided had a European plug and therefore could NOT be plugged into the English plugs what are used in the entirety of Malta! The customer service was abysmal. We were told we had to pay an extra set of security deposit because the deposit we paid was for the other hotel, we were told there was breakfast and a gym, there wasn’t! We were told we had to bring our own adapter to use the kettle. It doesn’t end there. The zircon doesn’t work! On asking for the zircon to be fixed, were had NUMEROUS people coming in and out of the room, while we were trying to sleep in the damp, muggy room. At one point I tried to explain to the technician that the zircon turns on for 10mins and then automatically turns off, and I was told I was wrong and it’s fine. He also got physically angry and pursed his lips and his body tense. That was just beginning

I was upgraded on arrival to sea view room which was beautiful, overlooking the harbour & Valetta. Balcony had two chairs & coffee table and was pleasant to sit & watch the world go by. Aside from the view I think it was a standard double room with a shower.
Nice compact tray with Kettle, tea/coffee & mini fridge.
Open hanging rail was plentiful with hangers & space however wasn’t suitable for longer dresses - had to use the coat hook (not the end of the world) additional bedding provided. Attention to environmental awareness in toiletries & use of AC.
Terrace & pool were closed which was disappointing as it was one of the features that made me choose this hotel. There was some confusion around charges for use of Aqualuna lido which was ironed out quickly.
Breakfast was disappointing for me as I like to try local foods, mortadella & Maltese sausage were the only local options. Mini pastries were overcooked, melon not quite ripe. I’m not a cooked breakfast person, but the counter was plentiful with many options.
Overall a good stay in a central location to all transport to move around the island.
Good selection of restaurants & shops nearby.
Promenade was lovely for a stroll.

This is my second time staying here.

The hotel is lovely the reception staff are fab. I belive was cLled Raj was very helpful. Unpon arrival at 11.30pm my bookkng had been misread and the room I booked for wasnt free. I had a night in a substute room. This was an arrigvating start to the holidsy but the team did do everything they could to elevate and rectify the issue.

The hotel corridors look a little tired but im happy with thay becuase the rooms are fab. I had room 402 with a sea view abd balcolny.

Im booked again (hopefully with the same room number) for March 2026

I arrived early 9:30 am went to front desk to check-in they took my passport said my room wasn’t ready was told to come back after 2 i came back around 6:45 to find out they had given my room away. They said I should’ve checked in at 2 but that made no sense as i was there early and room was fully paid in advance So they put me in the wheelchair accessible room but the door card reader wouldn’t work 4 trips to front desk and about 1 hour later it started working

Great location, poor condition hotel forget lifts

There is a luggage hold area, which was great for an early arrivals and late departures with a shower and changing room. After my checkin in around 2:30 PM, I went to my room, neither the window nor the sliding door would lock. It took four trips to reception to have someone from maintenance come and fix it in about five hours. Beware that even though they have a credit card on file, they want you to pay €100 in cash for incidentals or damage and another €10 if you want to use the safe I refused both since they already have my card on file. They also want you to fill out your full credit card details on a paper form which anyone can steal your details from. Please don’t do that. You already have your card on file in the system. Do not give out your credit card information. The breakfast buffet was spectacular. Views from the seventh floor. Pool area are amazing as well. The condition of that whole area has a lot to be desired. There is a sauna with a door that doesn’t close a whirlpool that is room temperature and another indoor pool. I didn’t use any of these facilities because they all look dirty. There are about 10 blue pool towels for for use for for over 200 guests so grab one as soon as you get there. Location is very good. The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel so do all the other buses going to Saint Julian’s and to Valetta.

We had a family room which was far too small for 4 of us. There was nowhere to store clothes or toiletries. Shower flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used. The balcony was a very small enclosed by four walls so no sun or fresh air really and it was constantly dirty from rooms above dropping ash and even a glass.
The thing that appealed about the hotel was the use of the aqua lido across the road. You have to book a specific room type for this which wasn’t made clear on the website.

Pool area disappointing

The most disappointing part was the photo that Hotels.com used as the main photo was of a pool area that was separate to the hotel and you had to pay to use. I booked the hotel based on the look of the pool. The hotel description confirms there is a roof top pool, that is adequate, but not as luxurious as the one on the main photo. It cost us €120 as a family of four to go to the nice pool for a day (would have been €150 if we went on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
Other than that the location of the hotel was great, a beautiful view of the bay and of Valetta from our hotel balcony.

Good location and loads of bars / eating places. Boat trips and ferry are walkable and shops too. Sliema 2 mins away and st. Julian’s isn’t far. Fantastic stay for access to everything Malta has to offer. Public transport & taxis really easy to Valetta & St Julian’s. Room was slightly tired and dated, however very clean and comfortable, with fresh towels & linen provided every day. Breakfast was ok, quite repetitive but pleasant and expected for the price. Reception staff, waiting staff at breakfast & cleaning staff all very friendly and helpful. Well worth paying extra for the beach club access as the hotel pool isn’t very big and there isn’t much space with only a few sunbeds.

Sad to say apart from the very central location with lots of restaurants and shops on your footstep, the breakfast being good and its staff, plus the pool area on the roof, the hotel is quite run down, the rooms needing plenty of TLC, the reception staff unprofessional, it’s just not worth the money - really overpriced.

I won't book again

The first room I was given was miniature. I'm 175cm tall. The ceiling was 20cm above my head. Bathroom was so small that you had to squeeze yourself into a gap to use the toilet and knees are pressing against the vanity. I went down immediately and asked for a change and was told they had to speak to management.

Was given a change of room but no apology. It was not the room I booked though.

Hotel is extremely busy. Breakfast has limited options. Bare basic.

I stayed in Room 404 as a solo traveller. The Hotel and Location is PERFECT. It’s a beautiful bay with the boats tours to other locations a short walk away. Breakfast is superb , fantastic bar and a pasta restaurant and others . The rooftop sunbathing is superb with a nice pool and showers and saunas and heated indoor pool . I am coming back as it’s perfect for me. Gina the room service lady does a fantastic job and is a credit to the Hotel all staff are superb and it was a pleasure to stay here

Not bad for an ST Hotels property but not the nicest one in the group, having stayed at the Azur Hotel I think the Azur is nicer than the Bayview. Some minor housekeeping challenges and the room is a little small but all in all a good stay. Recommend to look at the Azur or Alavits instead of the Bayview. Visit Fasta Pasta in the lobby of the hotel for the nicest pasta on the island, maybe in the world!

With limited time wanting to explore Malta, we didn’t want to waste our time but ended up explaining the issue to 4 different people who didn’t write anything down and passed on half the information to others. I don’t believe the room would pass safety standards as having that much water flowing in a room is obviously dangerous.
The staff weren’t very helpful, some who seemed to think it wasn’t an issue.
It’s a shame as the location is good.

The hotel itself needs big improvements, our room had mold on the bathroom ceiling, the window was broken and we had to call someone to fix it so we could close it overnight. The cleaning was not the best, a lot of hairs left on the floor, cleaning staff are not coming all the times to clean, they didn’t come to our room for 2 days in a row even if we called the reception. The swimming pool at the 7th floor was not heated on a Sunday Morning, the sauna door is broken and doesn’t close properly..
The staff were great and helpful every single time, that is a bonus of this hotel.
With one exception, the italian lady selling the Malta tours at the front desk. Please pay attention and ask what you’re getting for the price! She sold us €95 tickets to get to Gozo and Comino. But she never mentioned that the transport within the island is not included!! We got there and remained on the bay area for 2 hours.
Location of the hotel is great, with easy access everywhere, Bolt is very cheap to travel around. I recommend going to Julian’s Bay and The point shopping centre, great area. The view from the hotel’s rooftop is great!

We had a great stay the hotel is in a great location right on the sea front. Ideal for a budget weekend trip away, the room was fairly spacious and had a fairly comfortable bed and the staff were all very friendly. Only things that let it down were; lifts were small and slow, some black mould/damp in bedroom and bathroom and a broken tile but didn’t effect the use at all! The spa was very busy and main pool was cold but was supposed to be heated. Overall a good stay!

Excellent location...staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet had good choice and tables were cleaned and cleared as you finished eating. Comfortable bar area with large TVs showing mainly live sport. Bus stop to go to Valetta across the road and to head north towards st Julian's outside hotel. Ferry service to Valetta near by and a cheap and scenic way to enter Valetta.
Room was clean and spacious and well worth paying a little more for sea view.Great views from roof top pool with sunloungers.
I would definitely book this hotel again.

This hotel is well situated on the main promenade in Gzira, surrounded by many bars/restaurants and has a bus stop on the doorstep to access the rest of the island. Most of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly those serving breakfast on a morning and the cleaning staff. We were only B&B so can only comment on breakfast, which had a good selection of items to choose from and was regularly replenished by the hardworking staff. We had a room in the side annex which was a good size and we were fortunate enough to have a large terrace with sun loungers. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels replenished as required, although the bedding was not changed during our 9 night stay. The air conditioning in our room worked well and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. Unfortunately, whilst the shower was of a generous size, the doors did not close properly so the bathroom floor would flood every time we took a shower. Our first visit to the rooftop pool found it full of people, with no spare loungers and a quite cloudy looking pool. However, on subsequent visits, the pool was clear and inviting and there were plenty of loungers. Our biggest issue with this hotel is the lift situation. Our building had 1 lift for 6 floors, which would have been okay were it not for the fact that it was the same lift used by staff. This meant that you often couldn’t get in the lift as beds were being moved around the hotel, or the trolley for bags of laundry was in there

The hotel needs to improve the way it is displayed on the website because on the first day we had a bit of a problem there, because restless and hotel we were allocated, it was not the same as the one displayed on the website. Different room and positions, we had to complain to the manager and then be allocated the room we had seen in the booking app.
We realised that other people also had the same problem.

Staff tried their best to make us comfortable.

The hotel itself was extremely clean, staff friendly, breakfast had great choice and even catered for ‘gluten free’ requirements BUT the air conditioning in the bedroom was awful and made it extremely difficult to sleep at night !!! However, the air conditioning in public areas was excellent !!! Bayview, please sort out the bedroom air conditioning then I would have given you 5 stars all round

Booked this hotel several months before our trip. When we turned up they first seemed to think we had no booking, then said we'd been moved to their 'sister' hotel. Met someone at the other hotel who said the same had happened to them. It seems clear they are overbooking this 'Bayview' hotel and then sending excess customers elsewhere. This is not acceptable. I'm still waiting for an adequate response from Expedia.

Worst accomodation experience!

Worst accomodation experience ever!! It the first time i am writting a review but i feel the need to inform others planning to visit the hotel.
1. We stayed 3 nights to which the 2 we didnt even sleep as there was a lot of noise on the floor. The fire alarm went off both nights with no actual fire one night at 4 o'clock and the other at 1 o'clock.
2. For 2 days there was no hot water as the hotel was full and it run out for all the hotel rooms. The management staff was not helpful at all!! They are not problem solvers. They told us we will send someone but each time no one came to fix the issue.
3. Hairdryer was not working either in our room and a lot of other rooms as we find out from other guest as well.
4. The toilet room was too small and to sat on the toilet you had to do it diagonaly.
Overall this a bad experience we will never forget in a negative aspect.

Nice Hotel shame about the weather

Stayed for 4 nights choose hotel for convenience to visit Valletta via ferry unfortunately weather conditions meant ferry didn’t operate at all during stay which was very disappointing and made each trip into Valletta a trial as buses were full and didn’t stop so needed taxis 10 euros each way .
Hotel was lovely , would definitely stay again as very good value excellent breakfast and lovely pool area on the roof . Some Reception staff could have been friendlier and more helpful . Weather could have been a lot better

I arrived here late at night and check in was quick. The receptionist explained where everything was located and that someone was available 24/7 should I need anything. The overall feel for the hotel is quite young and suited for larger groups, party go-ers/night owls as opposed to early birds who enjoy the peace and quiet.

I was initially put into a room which didn't feel clean - the sheets were discoloured and had hair/stains on them. The shower door didn't close properly and leaked water everywhere, the balcony door didn't lock and was located right next to the lifts so was very noisy throughout the night as the party crew came home.

I requested to be moved the morning after my first night and the second room I was given was perfect. It overlooked the main street and felt fresh and clean. Thank you again, I didn't want to leave!

The outdoor pool is good, loads of loungers and plenty of space. The sauna door doesn't shut however and the jacuzzi wasn't very warm. There were no pool towels or anyone around to help either.

The breakfast was good - what you'd expect from a continental buffet. A bigger selection of fruit would be welcomed but overall good. Plenty of places to eat nearby and a bottle shop next door.

Overall a lovely hotel with friendly staff and everything you need located within or nearby.

Hotel was nice and in good location, view from room was worst I have had, although room was clean and good. A/C didn't work, called maintenance, they had a look said was fixed, but nothing changed. Lift broke half of the stay. Breakfast was OK, but very limited vegetarian options.

This hotel was not worth it. The staff upon checkin were very unhelpful, to the point they were even sarcastic when we asked them any questions.
The room was okay, but very hot, AC did not work, and out balcony looked on to other balcony with no airflow whatsoever.

The hotel was extremely loud, other guests hanging out in the hall ways yelling and partying. My friend and i made complaints, which were never followed up.

The final three nights were the worst, a bunch of teenagers were staying and they were very loud all hrs.
And then the last night there was a party downstairs and it was so loud it was as if it was in our room.

I made a sound complaint yet again and nothing was done.

Overall visit was unsatisfactory i will forward this onto the hotel, because i do beleive something should be done.

The first room we were given had issues due to having a dirty wall which needed redecorating. It was also very small for 2 people it resembled a store room and was located by the lift which wasn’t suitable for us due to related noise issues from the lift. I did ask the receptionist if it was possible to change rooms. Which they promptly allocated a beautiful room which was more spacious with a large bed and full width balcony.
The breakfast was great with so much choice. The hotel is in a fantastic spot for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.
We enjoyed our visit so much we are rebooking for the Spring.

Easy check in. Very friendly staff. Great big room but bathroom quite small. Whole buiding could do with some TLC. Great breakfast also with plenty of choice and friendly efficient staff. Had an issue with no hot water but it was sorted within 30 mins.
Overall enjoyed my stay and a convenient location for local bus services, restaurants, shops and bars

The breakfast area is not comfortable. Very noisy due to all the hard surfaces and it could be very chilly in some spots due to air conditioning.
I had a room at the rear so there was not much of a view. But I think the front area is very noisy due to traffic.

Extremely thankful for an early checkin. Room was spacious, TV had YouTube and our young son loved that. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms weren’t soundproofed to well so you could hear a lot of noise. Breakfast was great and staff was amazing keeping everything clean, stocked and orderly. Great location to visit Malta and take boat tours.

Overall pleasant stay

Overall the stay was really pleasant as we have been upgraded to a room with water view. The only drawback for the hotel is the lifts. It is upsetting a hotel like that to have only to slow lifts for all these rooms. Sometimes, it was taking up to 10 mins to for the lift to reach us!
