Rooms were very nice, a decent size and bed super comfortable. Staff were very friendly on arrival and throughout our stay.

Rooftop onsen was amazing, giving great views of Tokyo with free ice lolly’s once you come out. Although we didn’t try the restaurant I heard very good things and there is a 7-eleven directly across from the hotel when you need a late night snack etc.

Location was great, little walk to the closest subway station but main shinjuku area very close by with the Golden Gai bars also within a short walking distance.

Really enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed here 3 years ago and it left such an impression that we had to come back. Beautiful property. Quiet escape from Shinjuku.
It is a decent walk to a station (about 10 minutes) but it’s worth it in my opinion.
Will definitely try to stay here again when we come back.

This used to be my favorite hotel in Shinjuku. Unfortunately the hotel hasn’t been kept very well.

The rooms were very dusty. I could see dust particles in the air coming from the air ducts. I left with a throat infection. The onsen area was weathered. There was a broken handrail in the men’s onsen. The glass was very dirty.

I had arranged for a birthday cake surprise and they showed up about an hour late making it very awkward.

Checking in and out is frantic with “self checkin” stations that seemed to create more issues rather than streamline the process. They are short-staffed. The lobby is unenjoyable with hundreds of pieces of luggage lining the walls.

Great location. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku, yet just a short walk to the heart of the city.

The onsen was amazing; there’s nothing better than relaxing in it after walking 20,000+ steps each day.

The staff were incredibly friendly and patiently helped with all of my many questions. Worth every cent

Beautiful onsen with a lot of amenities. There is an indoor bath and an outdoor bath in which you can overlook the top of Shinjuku. Don't forget to grab a popsicle from the freezer after you are done soaking in the water!
The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is a traditional Japanese style.
Also important to note it is Tattoo friendly! My fiancé and I have a lot of tattoos and they are fully tattoo friendly.

Very easy to get to from Shinjuku. Super nice room. Tatami floor, rooftop onsen (open air and enclosed and tattoo friendly) with a view. The dining room looked nice but was booked up when I was there. Very close to Ni-chome for LGBTQ+ nightlife. Welcoming staff. Literally across the street from 711. Couldn't have had a better stay.

First, the good stuff: the hotel was visually appealing and the room served its purpose as a place to sleep. The laundry room was well equipped with two each of a washing machine and drier, a water cooler, ice machine, microwave and a vending machine. The shower was decent. The staff were polite, helpful and welcoming.

Now the bad: the standard rooms are tiny. We travelled as a couple with luggage (a suitcase and a backpack each) and once we were settled in the room, we were having to climb over luggage and each other just to move around. The room is so small that the bathroom spills out into the living area. We spent a lot of our time in the 7-Eleven dining area to relax just because it gave us the ability to both sit down at a table area at the same time.

The room was very dusty - indicating that cleaning might be a bit superficial. However, despite this the room at least felt clean - including the bathroom.

All in all, this hotel seems overpriced and overhyped. I’d expect a lot more room for what it cost, especially considering the currency exchange being in our favour at the time of our stay.

The hotel is very nice and traditional Japanese. The staff is very nice and helpful. The Onsen is great. The onsite restaurant is wonderful and probably the best meals I had in Tokyo. It is also walking distance ~15 min from the center of Shinjuku. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

This is a good hotel. It's main selling point is the rooftop onsen which is appreciated after a busy day walking around Tokyo.
Be aware that there isn't much sound proofing. I could hear the couple in the room next door to me talking and you can hear the workmen outside shouting in the early hours. Furthermore, the blind does not block out the light so I woke early every morning of the 4 I was here.
Also, there is often a wait for the elevator as there are only 2 which doesn't seem enough for a hotel that can hold this many people.

This hotel was impressive in many ways. It has great design with a blend of traditional Japanese with modern aspects. The check in was completely self service and very efficient (unlike other attempts where it doesn’t work and someone has to intervene). The city views from the room and penthouse were good. Japanese breakfast was the best we had during the whole trip.

We loved this hotel in Shinjuku! It’s within walking distance to shopping malls and restaurants, making it a very convenient location. The staff are friendly, speak English, and the hotel itself is clean and cozy.
One of the highlights was the traditional breakfast—they offer a great option for under $40 for two people. We also really enjoyed the hot spring bath with a city view, which was a nice touch after a long day out.
There’s a 7/11 store right across the street, and despite being so centrally located, the hotel is on a quiet street, which made our stay even more relaxing.

This is a small, cozy, and very clean hotel located right in the heart of Shinjuku. It’s incredibly convenient—surrounded by shopping, restaurants, and convenience stores like 7/11 and Family Mart, all within easy walking distance.
The hotel offers great amenities, including a hot spring bath, laundry facilities, and a traditional breakfast, which I highly recommend trying during your stay.

One thing to note is that the rooms are on the smaller side. If you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, space could be an issue. We had two large suitcases and two carry-ons, which worked perfectly for us.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Very welcoming and overall lovely staff greeted us after a 12 hour flight and allowed us to leave our bags in reception prior to check-in at 3pm. When we returned for check-in, bags were already in the room, wonderful!

Elevator was fine for us but could take a while to navigate during peak hours, we had a 5 night stay and mostly did 7am starts with no bother. Don't think there was an internal staircase, but there is one externally which I assume is for emergencies only.

Rooms were executively compact and clean, slight dust in the very corners of the room (probably from air conditioning) but overall very clean and daily cleaning was great. Beds very comfortable but space in the small double rooms is very very limited, particularly when compared to western chains but functions well considering we were only in the room to sleep and shower.

Onsen was wonderful, two pools, one inside and one outside, both with great views over Tokyo from 18th floor. For those who aren't aware, no swimwear is allowed in the Onsen. Inside pool window did get condensated, blocking view but there is always the outdoor Onsen for the view. Overall loved the Onsen with a seating area for eating free ice lollies looking over city when you exit.

Clothes washer and dryer located on multiple floors for low fee, 7 eleven opposite the hotel can be used to get change as the machines are coins only. Fresh water fountains also located on the same floors.

Absolute gem of a hotel! We stayed here as a couple and loved it. Yes the rooms are quite small and it would have been great if they were a bit bigger but I would 100% stay here again. We loved the onsen and all of the amenities in the room. The room itself was also quiet and we really couldn’t hear much from outside at all.

It’s a nice location, just across from it there’s a 7/11 and familymart right down the road if you turn left from the entrance, so if you’re feeling you want a quick drink or small snack it’s perfect. The walk to the train station is about 5-8 mins and it’s not hard to navigate to, very worth it! Obviously also be prepared for a smaller room if one of you guys is a tall person as well!

Shopping is not close to the hotel, you needed to walk a distance to get to the shopping area . The matress was too soft , not enough support, and the bed is put against to the window, when you turn and toss easily your hand will hit the shade, the rod of the bottom of shade will hit the wall and making noises, was annoying. The lights in the room was too dim, don’t have one is bright enough for vanity lights. Hotel is clean , and will have room service each day .

I especially loved the onsen, after a long day a soak does wonders and theirs was one of the highlights of my stay! This is truly a traditional Japanese Onsen experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I accidentally left my passport and wallet in the Uber at 2am and they were instrumental in retrieving it for me. The Onsen is on the top floor so you have a view of the city while bathing. 10/10 experience

The room was SO so small we had no room. The staff weren’t very friendly. The room was a sauna (like 26 degrees Celsius) and we had to fight with them to let us use the AC in our room. We requested a late checkout and then a man came and yelled at us at 11;30 telling us we had to leave even though we had already asked for a late checkout - he apologized but he came in HOT. Good location and clean property. Enjoyed the Onsen but it’s definitely a true 3 star hotel

The rooms were incredibly tiny and not well designed. We stayed at another hotel in Tokyo that was as small, but at least the other layout was well thought out.

Our whole family agreed that it was very dusty (do not leave any black items on the floor otherwise it will pick up all the dust) and very stuffy since there was no fan in the bathroom making our room very humid and perfect for mold to grow… as seen on our shower.

The lobby is small and I wish there was a lounge to hang since the rooms were so small. Staff were okay, definitely below the average Japanese hospitality.
