I don’t often stay at hostels, but was traveling solo and decided to try it out to save a few bucks. I was pleasantly surprised overall. Checking in and out was smooth and without issue. I booked a single room, which are located in the basement. Really no street noise and the room was clean and a/c worked great. Pleasantly surprised by the additional private bathrooms and single shower. You have access to the upstairs shared restrooms, as well, but this made it a lot easier. Overall, a great stay.

Great location and good price for Hostel.
The view of the 3 beds in a single room (317) is very Taiwan, with hundreds scooters waiting at traffic light. This hostel has alot of amenities: roof top lounge, laundry room, water refill station, bidet on toilet and luggage storage. The service is excellent: front desk personnel from 8 am to 10 pm. Afterward it is entry by door card. There is also a self check in after 10pm. There are cameras on every floor. Very safe.

I enjoyed my stay very much. There was not much happening in terms of the neighborhood but a bit of a walk away and there are restaurants and bars. The poster itself was fantastic. Quiet and safe and private. The cafe had excellent drinks and food was quite good and affordable.

WiFi is just terrible here, no access to Internet or WiFi based communications at all although free Wifi was advertised. The blankets were the size of a small towel - not wide enough to wrap around a small person's body. The front desk just shrugged at any complaints.
NOT worth wasting your money.

Just randomly choose a place to stay for myself in Taipei for 4 days .. honestly speaking it’s 99 marks , staff are nice , location is brillant ( just like the middle of TPE main station m Ximendeng, although need to share the bathroom with others , it’s tidy n clean than my expectations, the only thing is the room is little but small , if u bring a suitcase more than 20”, it might be difficult to open in your room on the floor. If I have a chance, might come back for another stay !

Location is near to Taipei Railway Station, but a distance walk of around 8 minutes. Room is small but should be sufficient for solo traveler with small suitcase. Room with window is only for show, not much useful as it is very small window. Most importantly the air cond works perfectly fine during the summer time! Shower room is clean and furnished with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Lift is accessible every floor and water dispenser can be located at B1 and Level 6. B1 small pantry also comes with microwave. The R&R area have books, comfortable sofa and dining tables to relax yourself.

I like the best of its location and friendly staff. Clean room small but sufficient. Love the washroom equipped with Japanese-style toilets. Have hair dryers and tooth brush, combs in case you forgot to bring. Highly recommended.
What I didn’t like it was the noise as it is close to the street when choosing to have a room with a view. However, you can grab ear plugs from the hotel lobby. I would recommend to install some hooks in the females' locker close to shower stalls as there were no place to hang towers and clothing.

The room I was situated in was slightly bigger than the other single rooms since it was on the corner so it was nice. There's a fridge and a safe in each room with an AC unit too. Bathrooms we're clean but it didn't make much sense why the women's bathroom was on the 5th floor which was a mixed floor and not on the 6th floor where it's a women's only floor.

We spent 1 night here and it is very convenient!! Close to c-stores, cafes. Able to walk to Airport MRT & Ximending.

Take Z4 exit if you have large luggage, or Z10 as the closest exit to this hotel from Taipei Main station

One thing to improve is the shower room is very wet, if it is as dey as shower room like hostels in Japan would be just perfect.

The stay had exceeded my expectations.

Although it was stated that the check-time was 16:00, the room was ready when I reached at 14:00 and the staff allowed me to have an early check-in.

The room was small but well-equipped. Towel and slippers were provided in the room; and other toiletries including shampoo, soap, and hair dryer, were also provided in the bathroom. While it was a little inconvenient to keep tapping in and out of the rooms and facilities, safety and privacy were ensured. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

The check-out also had no issues. And they had lockers for me to keep my belongings after check out at the lounge area.

Overall was fine. Room was good, size is just right for short trip. There is lift to every floor except the laundry and rooftop bar. But the shower could do better. Not enough hooks and lack of ventilation in the shower. The toilet seats are a surprise, with Japanese toilet functions. I would stay here again if the shower has been upgraded.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location, within walking distance to Taipei main station, Airport MRT, Ximen area. Staff are friendly and helpful. A single room comes with enough space for your suitcase to be opened. I got the room just facing the corner of the intersect, my sleeping quality wasn't that nice in the early morning. The bed is a bit too soft for me and I then had little back-pained when waking up. Putting a sign to have the room cleaned was only to get an empty trash bin, nowhere else in the room I could notice the difference. The shared bathroom had strange smell once entered and there were lots of bubbles on the floor from the previous guest.
Overall, the hotel is okay but there're still things they can improve to provide much better experience to their guests.

The room was very new and clean. Not alot of space to put a big luggage but just nice for backpackers. They had towels, a safe and mini fridge, small tv and headphones. I stayed in a all female floor with windos with shared bathroom. Bathroom had toiletries and hairdryer provided. Walking distance to the dept store, H&M, uniqlo, Innisfree.

Only downside is its not sound proof, you can hear people walking in and out to the bathroom in their slippers through the night if you are a light sleeper.

For the price, it is a good deal. The interior is surprisingly stylish, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location near the main train station is very convenient. My room was not much bigger than the bed, but the common area was very comfortable for getting work done and planning the next days adventures, the bathrooms were clean and very modern, and the internet connection was good. It sufficiently met my needs. I'd stay there again.

It’s situated at an ideal location; walkable distance to Taipei main station (5 mins walk) and approx 10 mins to Ximending; adjacent to 7 eleven n other convenient stores, eateries and massage parlours.
Room is sufficiently sized. The washroom/ toilets are ample and clean, although it’s a shared one. Has washing machine and dryer at nominal cost. I would definitely recommend this one!
Lastly, got the best deal on Expedia.

Staff is by exceptional service. Location is convenient. The walls are thin, guests in and out of their rooms are heard every time because the closing of the door makes a huge sound. Employees talking in the hallways are easily heard. Not recommended if you want a well rest. Recommended if you're on budget and just want a quick place to stay.

I stayed at Poshpacker back in February and found the location and condition of the hotel to my liking. I decided to get a room with a window this time and enjoyed it even more. The staff was excellent as usual and the beds were as comfortable as I remembered. There are loads of restaurants and shopping options with the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store nearby. The hotel is close to Taipei Main Station so it's well-connected to the MRT. There's not much else to say other than it's an attractive, well-run establishment that I would recommend to single travelers visiting Taipei.

Rooms are generally clean and tidy. The only thing is there were some ants in the first room I checked in. So I requested another room and the staff was able to arrange very quickly. The second room was fine.

Shower rooms and toilets were clean as well.

Location-wise, 10-15mins walk to Ximen or 10mins to Taipei station. There is 24hr a convenient store across the street.

If you do not want any noise from the street, I recommend booking rooms without windows, though the streets and the roads aren't very busy

Cons:
The power outlet in the room is located besides the bed. Therefore, whenever you need to charge your phone or laptop, the device has to place it on the bed. It will cause slight inconveniences while you sleep if you are charging more than 1 device.

Go-to accommodation in Taipei

This is my second stay with Poshpacker, and I am still satisfied with the service I received! Hotel staff were extremely willing to help with my many requests, ranging from specific room type to securing a reservation at the elusive Taipei 101 Starbucks.

I was able to check into my room earlier than the stipulated check-in time, and was provided with an order form for most of the popular food item in Taipei. I did not utilise the service, however it is stated that there is no minimum quantity and no delivery fee. They also promise to deliver before check-out, with the earliest delivery within the 24 hours. Note that this service is provided by an external agent.

Entire building is safe as the elevators, rooms and bathrooms are by card-access only. An in-room safe is provided, but I feel at ease just leaving my belongings in the room. Contrary to earlier reviews, I do not have problems with noise from my neighbours, except when I step out into the corridors - which is expected. Lounge is welcoming, and had large lockers for luggage storage.

As for laundry service, it costs NT40 to operate the washer (approximately 30-45 minutes) and NT10 for a 10-minute cycle in the dryer. Complimentary detergent can be obtained from reception. Note that more than one cycle is required to adequately dry your clothes. Coin change is available at reception.

The staff are wonderful, with a big smile and warm greeting every time. The rooms are well appointed, with a fridge, aircon, tv and a safe. The complimentary breakfast of sandwich and coffee was nice. The shared showers and toilets are always clean and I never had to wait in line for either. Location is two blocks form the Taipei main train station - the easiest way to get around town. Surrounded by nice restaurants. Also has two common areas, one in the basement the other at the roof. Overall, excellent value for money and a great base form which to explore Taipei and beyond.

Comfortable and attractive modern design

The hotel is in prime location near the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store and the Taipei Main Station. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The design is modern and highly attractive which was a major plus. Rooms and floors are very secure thanks to the key cards required to enter the floors, rooms, and bathrooms. Though, this can be a bit inconvenient as the key card controls the power to your room. If you have to go to the bathroom you need the card and the power to your room will shut off. Keep this in mind when charging electronics. There is a nice small cafe on the first floor where you can get a simple breakfast and there is a lounge in the basement. On the roof is another lounge area with the laundry room. I also appreciate the 24 hour front desk and the late check-in as I got in fairly late from the airport.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept very clean. Having a small refrigerator and an electronic safe in the room were very convenient as well. The safe definitely gives extra peace of mind when storing valuables. The bathrooms were nicely lit and the music that plays was a nice touch as well. About the only issue I had was the lack of soundproofing on the doors as I could hear people outside. Overall, this was a wonderful place hotel and I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Taipei.

Nice small hotel

The hotel located very close to the Taipei station. A very good location that you can go anywhere you like conveniently. Room was comfortable and clean. If men and ladies could be totally separate in different level will be much better.

Hostel with private rooms, be aware CNY breakfast

Poshpacker is basically a hostel with private rooms. The rooms and small but with a comfortable bed, fridge and safe. The room was kept immaculate the whole time i stayed. You may need to go up or downstairs for shower depending on which gender facilities are on your floor, but every floor has at least a toilet for both genders. Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful.

Although I enjoyed my stay, I cannot give a perfect rating. The main reason is that I paid for a room with breakfast but the hotel cafe is closed for Chinese New Year (completely understandable). Guests were provided with McDonalds coupons in lieu. While some may be ok for McDonalds every day, I was exceptionally disappointed as the main reason for selecting this hotel was for the breakfast - including to not need to go outside for breakfast and not to eat fast food. I would have appreciated the option to downgrade to a non breakfast room and get a partial refund as i didn't want to eat at McDonald's while on holiday and didn't use any of the coupons and felt like it was as such not as good value. Other guests also looked disappointed too.

Second minor thing is that the doors are quite thin, you can hear whatever is happening in the corridor but i found it ok. You might want to consider that if you are a light sleeper.

The staff told me that I was promoted to a room with windows when checking in around midnight. But, that turned out to be a nightmare for me as the room can hear the noises outside the building very clearly because the glass is not that soundproof. So, I didn't sleep well and had a bad experience of staying at this hotel.... Otherwise, the room and the hotel is cozy but clean; I might go back to stay here again if the bad experience hadn't happened.
