This is the hotel you didn't know you needed! We were traveling with our 9-year-old son, and the lobby area is a godsend if you are traveling with family. He could independently go down and be entertained and help himself to snacks! In addition, it made meal times - especially breakfast - so easy. They have plenty of large tables and open seating so grab-and-go/take-out meals are perfectly accommodated. I really appreciated the low-key vibe and relaxed setting and friendly, helpful staff.

Rooms are perfectly comfortable and clean and have a decent amount of space. We stayed in a triple.Though not luxurious, the more laidback, easygoing atmosphere was much more what we were looking for the longest stay of our trip. It was great to have a laundry option as well.

For our trip, we stayed in 6 different places, and this hotel was our son's favorite of our entire 2.5 week trip!

Love love love this hotel. Second year in a row staying here. I’ve stayed at a few hotels around the island, but still think Roaders may be the best. As a solo traveler, the room was perfect for me. Good bed, accessible plugs, and maybe the best shower on the island. Overall, great value, great location, and great amenities. But the most of all, an excellent staff. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

I really loved the location and the space. The rooms are adequate and the close proximity to Ximen and Taipei Main MRT stations is absolutely amazing - easy access to most of the city. The only note I’d leave is that the rooms don’t all have safes for keeping valuables (like passports). The staff was kind enough to store things for me at their own locker but I’d have called it 5/5 if the rooms had a locker too.

So many small little things that made it special (snacks, coffee, decorations, etc.). The bed was really stiff however, but not enough to ruin the experience or anything. This was a great price for the location and amenities. I stayed in an internal room with non windows and appreciate being able to sleep during the day with no light. Very economical. There are lots of convenience stores and places to eat nearby.

For us, all was okay. But just that the treatment of the staff there, if I am not mistaken the manger, a **Chinese guy who wears spectacles and a shoulder hair length lady,* they are super cold and unfriendly. Treated us very unfriendly and can’t be bothered type but very friendly to “European” customers. Super double standard.

Very unprofessional and made us uncomfortable everyday. We are friendly people so can’t get our head around this biased treatment. So I will not recommend this hotel service especially if u are staying there long where u need to meet this type of people who judge you based on your citizenships. Horrible!

Friendly staff. First time I am in a hotel where the reception is in the basement. And the basement guest area is awesome with free snacks (ramen, egg buns, chips, etc.), games, and armchairs.
Our room was small but sufficient for a couple nights. The bathroom had a large shower.

The windows couldn’t be opened, the curtains were very dusty (dust flew everywhere when touched), and the carpet made the room feel less clean. My child even got a stye during the stay, which we think was related to the dust. Convenient, yes — but I wouldn’t recommend it if you care about cleanliness.

Great location

Great location - convenience stores were just right beside and 5mins walk from Ximen station. Also accessible to Taipei main station and the Taoyuan Airport train stations, about 15mins walk.

Only gripe is the room can be a tad small especially if you’re not a solo traveller. Not much space in my room for a full sized luggage (I brought a backpack so wasn’t much of an issue then).

Staff were really friendly and the common area at B1 offers free cup noodles and other snacks. Comfortable place for a short stay.

Great place to stay in, staff gave us free upgrade from normal triple room to vip triple room. The basement area has a lot of free snacks and instant noodles for guests to eat, and also has game machines and sometimes plays movies on the projector.

Room was nice and clean and big. Hotel is close to ximending only 5-10 min walk and across the road, great location. There is also a cute hello kitty themed 7-11 just 2min walk out to the main road.

It’s located quite near ximending and have covenience stores downstairs, but I’ll never stay in this hotel again. Super duper cold during winter and aircon not adjusting to the temperature we set. Literally freezing at night. Was given mini portable heater instead that will “heat up” the person nearest to it but the others will still be cold. My children kept waking up with a flu throughout the nights and the staff said there’s nothing else they could do. Requested for more heaters but they say other rooms need as well lol means all their rooms are not prepared for winter period. Imagine being cold outside and still cold in the hotel. By the way I booked the “VIP suite”. Totally not of VIP standard. Not worth the price, could have stayed at a much better place. Room is super small for VIP when it’s supposed to be for family, and it looks totally different from the images on their booking website. Daily cleaning only clear rubbish and change towel. Imagine if you stay for a longer period. The toilet… the bed sheets… I found hair on their bedsheet too when I first check in. Service was below average as well. The staff look like they don’t want to be there and don’t want you to talk to them. Only perk is really the gaming area and free snacks at the lobby. I would rather have a decent room to stay instead. There’s many items they don’t provide as well, even basic items like hand soap and I had to buy myself. Will not recommend.

My stay at Roaders Zhonghua had its highs and lows. On the positive side, the hotel's location was fantastic—just a short walk to Ximending, which made exploring the area a breeze. The complimentary beverages and snacks in the lobby were a thoughtful touch, and the games provided for kids were a hit with my little one. What truly stood out was the excellent customer service; the staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience.

However, there were a few drawbacks. The room was quite small, leaving little space to move around after placing our luggage, which made it feel cramped. Additionally, the carpet didn’t seem thoroughly cleaned, giving off an unkempt impression despite daily housekeeping.

Overall, while there were some areas for improvement, the hotel’s location, amenities, and service made the stay enjoyable.

I had a good week's stay at this hotel, but having stayed in a few other hotels in the area, I cannot rate it as good value. I stayed at an exec suite, which gives you a larger space, windows and a nice standing bathtub but there were still several things missing for a hotel charging as much for a room. Room service/cleaning needs to be requested at least a day in advance, which, for someone with unpredictable areas for me meant I didn't get my room done in a week. You can, however, bring towels to exchange at reception, which was a lifesaver. No toiletries are provided, but there is shampoo, etc, in the shower, which was still inconvenient for washing my hands as it's behind a glass door and hard to reach.
There was a fridge but no safe(!) and a small desk and TV. There is a fairly empty area where I'd suggest a small sofa or armchair should be fit given the room rate. The staff were always very helpful and friendly.
You do get some free snacks but given the cost I'd say this isn't something important, and you're next door to a Family Mart open 24/7 anyway.

Firstly, I want to apologize to Roaders for a mistaken first impression during check in. I had booked an \"Executive Suite\" and had a false impression that I was downgraded to a lesser room, to the point that I immediately wrote a bad review about my check in process to Expedia. I named \"Cola\" as the desk person who checked me in. The next day, another desk agent, \"Ice\" very patiently and cordially explained to me that the room I had been given was architecturally the exact same room that I had been promised, only it was a mirror image of the suite that had appeared in Expedia's reservation pictures. I was very satisfied by her explanation and was a bit embarrassed that I hadn't realized my oversight. At that time I attempted to amend my poor review on Expedia, but was denied access, being told that the review was no longer accessible. Thus I'm writing this as my personal apology to Roaders as they were incredible in their service. That said, their air conditioning is superb and very easy to adjust. Their free snacks also a great service. People never talk about this, but the water pressure in the shower is magnificent. I've been to other hotels where there are water regulators inserted into the shower heads to limit flow and that makes a shower feel weak. The shower in Roaders is superior. There is also a soak tub but I never had any use for those things. A very nice experience at moderate price. Thank you, Roaders, and yes, I would return without hesitation. Cheers!

The hotel is very cute. The main lobby which is in the basement is basically a big game room with lots of Americana themed decoration (Route 66 signs, cowboy stuff, American license plates, etc). The staff is friendly and helpful. The free ramen, snack, popsicles and drinks is awesome. The rooms however are tiny but clean. They provide FREE laundry which was huge especially since we had already been traveling for a week and had plenty of laundry to do. The hotel could use a renovation in some parts. But overall the facility and its staff are great. What I didn’t like was its distance from the train station. It was a bit of a trek. I did appreciate being on the periphery of Ximending though.

This a wonderful place to stay at when visiting Taipei. It is located next to a MRT station exit and near Xiamen night market district. You can find places to dine in or to shop at day and night in Xiamen. The MRT Bannon Line will take you to just about any place you want to go in Taipei. The facilities were modern and quiet. The staff is wonderful. They are extremely helpful and that is what makes the stay so comforting. The lobby hang out area is well stocked with snacks and refreshments, just a relaxing place to rest after spending a day in Taipei.

the staff were nice and friendly! they allowed us to leave our luggage with them before check in/ after check out and even agreed to help my husband dispose of his spoilt luggage for free.

i especially appreciate how there was a wide variety of food/drinks available at b1 for free daily, along with a free photo booth and free arcade games. in the morning, the staff will prepare sandwiches and coffee while at night, popcorn, steamed buns and hotdog buns will be available. throughout the day, there is also instant noodles, snacks, instant drinks, packet fruit juices, canned coke and sprite available for free. beer is also available but you'll need to pay for it

the hotel is also conveniently located a short walk from xi men mrt station and is walkable to xi men ding. it is also walkable to taipei main station, making it easy for guests to get around the city. there are also multiple convenience stores near the hotel, with family mart located just beside the hotel.

however, room service is only available upon request (need to request 1 day in advance) but they will only help to change your towels. housekeeping will not clean the room/top up any items during your stay which was abit of a bummer because we stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and we had already finished our free bottled water, toothpaste and bath salts during our stay.

overall, my husband and i had a really pleasant stay at the hotel and we would definitely go back if we visit taipei again!

I don’t find it a family friendly hotel even though there’s a children playroom (more for infant) the rooms are small and cramp. The lights in the room are either too bright or you have to off it entirely.

Since when room cleaning become a request? It should be done daily unless we don’t want it.

I won’t recommend family with children, for couples is ok. Location is good and surrounded by convenience stores.

The location is pretty good, staff were very nice and friendly, facilities are decent and free snacks!
However, I really don’t like the room I stayed in.
I booked the Deluxe double room and was give the one on the second floor. My issues listed below:
1. The the toilet wall, door and window are made of glass. When you turn of all the lights, your room lights up from the lights outside of the hotel, through the toilet. And yes, it lights up the whole room. Had to wear eye mask to sleep. The blinds at the toilet does nothing. I even tried using my umbrella to block out some light but it’s still very bright.

2. During the day, the room itself with all lights on, it’s very dark. Why not open the curtains you may ask? Well? Because we are on the second floor. Once you open the curtains, the whole street of pedestrians can look into your entire room. And yea there were a lot of people walking downstairs. So no privacy at all.

3. Aircon controller’s light can never be turned off unless you off the aircon. I had to stick a name card to it to block the light at night.

4. The bed is externally small and it’s super shacky. My wife and I are pretty lean and we weren’t comfortable on that bed. If one moves, the other person will feel it. But good thing about the bed was that we could be easily woken up by the earthquake because the bed was so shaky and take precautions, which we did when it hit Hualien.

I really dint had good sleep over the 5 nights there.

The Good: relatively affordable, clean, in a convenient area, free ramen, baked goods, breakfast drinks in the common area. The bad: paper thin walls. Even as a heavy sleeper I notice noise from the neighbours. I heard s*x noises at 6 am one day, and got woken up the next day by my neighbours having a violent domestic dispute. There is only 1 washer/dryer for the entire hotel. You book the time but my time period was taken by someone else. Staff was pretty responsive to my concerns but there was only so much they could do. Please don't book the rooms with no windows. They are cramped and depressing.Even though it is a reasonable budget option, next time I would choose somewhere else.

The staff was extremely friendly especially for the night before my flight, they helped me find an ATM that would work with my debit card so that I can pay for my taxi the next day. I love the amenities like the 24 hour free beverages and snacks. The room I got was so spacious and stylish. Ximending was within 10 minutes away. I highly recommend!!

The room I stayed in was comfortable and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was cozy, the bathroom was clean, and the overall ambiance of the room was inviting. One thing that stood out to me about Roaders Hotel was its convenient location. Situated in the heart of the city, it was within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops, making it easy for me to explore and experience everything the area had to offer. Great stay for a short trip

I had the single room without windows and the room is tiny. However, the bathroom was fully sized and it was suitable for a short stay. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast/lounge area was amazing. Such a nice place to stay
