Great location that's an easy walk from Ximen station. Staff were lovely and helpful, and our room was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately due to Taiwan's plumbing issues there was a strong sewerage smell coming from our bathroom, which was mostly mitigated by keeping the bathroom door closed and the AC on at all times. We got a room with a bathroom window, which was nice for natural light but certainly not anything you want to look out of.

Travellers beware... don't make the same mistake as I did. Hotel is nothing as advertised.

Pros:
- Staff were friendly.
- Hotel provides free drinks and snacks. You can also get free cup noodles at night.
- Very good location right at Ximending.

Cons:
- Not clean. Room has a horrible musty smell.
- Very old rooms, wallpaper look like they're about to peel off. Mold everywhere. Honestly looks like a DIY project to convert space into hotel.
- When taking a shower, water doesn't drain properly.
- Not allowed to flush toilet paper. All toilet paper must be disposed in dustbin. Not only that, you have bring the dustbin outside the room to be emptied.
- Poor piping system. Inconsistent flow of water from faucet.
- Very poor soundproofing. You can hear everything in the hallway.
- Shared elevator with other businesses/hotels. Some floors can be freely accessed by random people as no need to tap room card to get to the floor.
- Price per night is quite expensive. Not worth it.

We cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Taipei. Room was so unpleasant that we had to last minute book another hotel (even knowing that we won't get a refund at Muzik). So beware......

Love that the hotel is just 5 mins walk from Ximen mrt and also the free drinks that you can help yourself to at the reception area. However the hotel does not seems to be properly cleaned. The floor is dusty and there is even a leftover cake in the fridge, probably by the previous tenant. It will be good if the floor is carpeted. Also, the bath tub is very high and it is not that easy to get in and out of it especially for the elderly or those who are injured or have condition.

I waste my money coz I checked out the property few hours I checked in and I cannot refund my money even half of my stay in coz I cannot tolerate the smell I stayed in the 6th floor near the spa. I’m allergy to smell and I developed headache.

Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.

First, I was disappointed to learn that guests are not allowed to flush toilet paper. While I understand this may be unavoidable, it would have been helpful if this information had been clearly stated on the website to manage expectations.

Second, I found a thick bunch of hairs under the covers. although it was promptly changed, this experience made me uncomfortable enough to decide to leave after just one night, despite booking for three nights. Losing money for the remaining two nights felt preferable to the anxiety of staying.

Lastly, I found one of the front desk staff members to be particularly unwelcoming, with little to no personality. This added to the overall discomfort of my stay.

This experience has taught me an unfortunate lesson - to be cautious when booking older hotels in Taiwan, as the chances of encountering plumbing issues like this seem higher.

Room was too small, the furniture and amenities is subpar. We booked a room for 3 and there was barely enough space to move.

There was no table space. I had to sort my documents on the bed.

There are very few outlets to charge your electronics and the placements are terrible. The outlet is above the bed but so close that you end up bumping on it on your sleep and no tables or area where you can place the electronics while they charge. I had to place my items on narrow areas beside the outlets.

The toilet bowl is very prone to clogging

The lounge / common area is also lacking. There are barely any free snacks. Coffee and some drinks are available but they rarely restock

The bathroom floor is very elevated that it is hard to go in and out of it.

Toiletries like soap, toothbrushes and toilet paper is an additional fee. The shower has a shampoo and body wash dispenser but does not have racks or fixings where your can put your own toiletries.

The hotel building or its interior isn’t great to be honest. Specially when considering the price point. Room was only big enough for the bed. Washroom didn’t have a proper screen, so the water spilled all over. Sink is in the room, light switches can’t be operated without you getting out of bed. The floor seems to be made of some sort of cheap laminate which looks dirty. I’d say most other buildings in this area seem to be neglected or super old. Moved to Da’an suburb the next day and couldn’t be happier. There’s always metro or Uber if you wanna explore this area but if looking for a nicer stay, look elsewhere.

My first time staying at Muzik Hotel - Ximen Station Branch and it was a really pleasant and comfortable stay. Best feature of this hotel was the location! It is 6 minutes from Exit 6 of Ximen MRT station and it is soooo centralised that you can explore Ximending on foot from this hotel. Most of the good food places are few minutes walk.

The rooms are cosy and clean. I like that they have a common dining area/pantry for their guest to get coffee/tea and some snacks there. The free foot spa area is a great addition to their service provided. Love how smooth and relaxed your legs will feel after.

Service is also VERY GOOD! Very efficient team and will do their best to help their guests. Kudos to Mya on helping us with our transport and Harry for helping us with our toilet situation. You made our stay an enjoyable and a memorable one.

Definitely will recommend this place to friends who are looking for a accomodation when exploring Taipei!

Booking through third party apps like Expedia offers you a lot of selection, but the prices are often inflated. The location of the hotel was convenient, but for the price we paid, the rooms were disappointing. It’s a poorly designed interior space using low quality finishes and lacks any skilled construction. There were drill holes that weren’t plugged, excessive caulking in the bathroom to cover up mistakes and a lack of ventilation which resulted in mildew rooms. Despite windows, there are no views unless you want to see dingy walls covered in city rust. This hotel needs serious maintenance and upgrades.

Muzik Hotel in Ximendeng district

Staff was friendly. I requested early check in because my flight arrived early. Their website says free early check in, however because I did not book directly from their website, they charged $300 per hour for early check in. They would not allow free early check in but looked after my suitcase until I returned at 3pm to check in. There is no daily cleaning service and you cannot flush toilette paper down the toilette. Used toilette paper is disposed in the garbage bin. You must also collect your garbage and put it outside your room every morning. The location of the hotel is very close to the MRT (subway). Everything is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The hotel offers free drinks and snacks. I probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again, although the location is the main reason I selected it.

出入西門町很方便，西門町捷運6號出口行6-8分鐘左右的一幢商業大樓內。房間不會有煙味怪味，整潔和舒適。不是新裝修，但也不舊。大廳有很多飲品供應。還有泡脚池可預約浸泡。遇到問題前堂也很快幫忙解决了。如果浴室的花灑可調教角度和高度就好了、另外如房間有英規插頭和USB充電插就更完美了！下次會再入住。

The request for the makeup of room was worst. The in-charge only cleared the rubbish bin and add new towels. For the 5 days stay, there was no tidying up of the beds and i noticed the floor was quite dirty as if nobody cared about the cleaniness. It was way much better on my last stay. I do not recommend this hotel since nobody bothers to upkeep .

This is my 2nd stay with the hotel.
However, this time round I am super disappointed !
I choose a room window as I preferred natural lights however the room allocated comes w a window which directly facing the opp apartment windows less than 3m away ! Therefore i kept the curtains drawn most of the time!
The cabinets and wallpaper ( half done) is v old, the entire room look like a makeshift room which was put together last min !
No bed frame , no side tables , only one which was placed v randomly under the window which I found a fried sweet potato ball on the carpet and a used tissue on that side cabinet!!!
Apart from the good location , the rest are terrible!!
As I stayed before a few years back, I clearly remembered this is a pretty decent hotel which we enjoyed in the past!! So much had changed post covid ! V disappointing

For those looking for convenience and budget.

1) it's very near to everything includes Ximending ,bus stop and MRT station. 2) the hotel is a little aging.3) The hotel sound proof is bad, can hear television noise from the other room, can hear people taking outside the door, especially during 3am in the morning ,there are groups of Young people in and out their room screaming one another.4) the room condition is aging.5) cleaniness is ok looking at what we are paying for....5) Overall is ok if you wanted to be near with everything

This is the hotel that I will usually stay when I visit Taipei. This hotel is value for money and is in Ximending and 10 mins walk to Ximen station.

Room for improvement is that ,the newly renovated rooms at level 4, there is a step to be taken when entering the toilet, which is not so elderly-friendly especially I am travelling my in-laws.

Moreover, the hotel staff when I stay previously are passionate about their jobs whereby they put up a smile whenever I converse with them, which I don’t see it in my recent stays. Previously, whenever I stay over here, it makes me feel that I am being welcome back, however, I don’t have this feeling anymore.

Muzik checked all the boxes for us as a great hotel: reasonably priced, excellent location, fast WiFi, friendly staff, strong water/shower pressure and very clean. We felt safe in the area.

It is a 5min walk from Ximen station which is so convenient if taking the airport train into the city. Shopping, street food, public transport, foot massage, 7-11, boba and everything you need right outside the door.

Nelson checked us in pretty quickly and answered all our questions. It was raining when we arrived and he offered free use of umbrellas so we don’t have to buy. He gave us a room on the 6th floor that was very clean: it came with a safe, fridge, hair dryer, TV and 2 bottles of water. Bed and pillows are perfect for a good night sleep.

There are free juices and milk tea in the lobby including snacks all day and cup noodle from 8pm to midnight. There’s a foot spa 3 mins walk away that gives a 100 nTD discount if you show your hotel key. It is open until 4am.

I highly and 100% recommend this hotel!
