For the kind of prices that they charged us for the room, we feel cheated because there were very minimal useful amenities, there was no phone in the room, and the tv was not even connnected to the internet. The free breakfast in the cafe downstairs was too oily and rich that we got indigestion on the second morning right after eating their set meal. They could have allowed us to choose a simpler breakfast, or better yet provide buffet, like most hotels. We will definitely never stay in a Sotetsu establishment after this.

The traffic noise especially the turn signal sound from the buses was non stop all day so I wasn’t able to relax in the room. I am not sure whether the noise is not as bad if you are in the upper floor but it was awful for the 3rd floor (the lowest floor). The location and the facility are both great but the noise issue would not have me choose this hotel again.

The hotel’s location was ideal. It sits right near the lively Ximending district, so there was always something to do, eat, or explore just a short walk away. Being close to the MRT made getting around Taipei incredibly convenient, whether we were sightseeing or heading out for dinner. It also made our transportation to and from the airport much easier, which took a lot of stress out of traveling.

The hotel is located in the best location of Ximen. It is conveniently located right next to the train station. Google Maps will tell you to take the exit number 2 from the train station. However, exit number 3 has an escalator, and it is also very close, right next to the train to the hotel. Exit number 2 does not have any escalator. If you have luggage, it would be difficult and best to do exit number 3.


The room is very clean, however the bed is not very comfortable. I packed the hotel because of its location and convenience. I would book the hotel again if I'd like to return back to the same locations. I have no other concerns.

原本以為訂的是日資飯店，會玉山設定早餐有白飯、味噌湯、納豆、烤鮭魚等餐點，不過早餐卻是1樓咖啡廳所提供的西式早餐，保證非常美味，但真的很可惜不是日式餐點，這一點導致於沒有滿足我原來的期望，當然也是我個人沒有事先調查清楚，但就是覺得很失望。

I was not feeling well and needed to see a doctor, and the staff were very helpful in finding one that speaks English and close to the hotel (about 10 mins by taxi).

The hotel location is excellent as it is across Ximending Walking District and night market, as well Ximen station exit 2 and 3 just outside of the hotel.

Everything was simply wonderful. The reception was courteous, the entire building had a sense of cleanliness, the room was spacious, the breakfast was delicious, the internet was sufficiently fast, and the water dispenser was very convenient. I truly enjoyed this trip with my son. If I had to mention anything, it would have been nice to have a fork, knife, or chopsticks available, but that’s really just a luxury. Oh, and perhaps the refrigerator didn’t cool quite enough, but that’s only a very small request I came up with after looking hard for something to improve.

Excellent hotel except the few problems I found, my room’s internet disconnect more than 6 times, I needed to reset it by myself, the mini refrigerator is not considered cold enough for daily products, the bathroom’s faucet for hot water not have water pressure at all, the last one is the shower’s water not drain properly, after I took the bath, I can see the shower’s floor full of water. Besides the above minor problems, the front desk staffs and housekeepers are polite and respectful., the room is cleaned

Easily one of my fav hotels around the world!

The hotel location was superb, walkable to XiMenDing shopping street and the train station is just downstairs!

The room was super clean and spacious, stayed on the 3rd floor yet couldn’t hear any sounds from outside - making it a restful and comfy stay. Many shelves and tables available in the room as well.

Guest services were helpful and prompt in providing room amenities whenever requested.

One minor downside is that there were only 3 lifts available across 14 floors and the waiting time for them could take a while especially during peak movement hours (e.g checkin/checkout)

Overall, a really good stay at Sotetsu Grand Fresa XiMen and I’d definitely recommend it to friends visiting Taipei. Thank you for the great hospitality!

More expensive than surrounding hotels, but well worth the cost. Bed and all rooms were clean. Staff are very nice. However, taiwan new law doesn't permit hotels to offer toothbrush and toothpaste anymore. Luckily we brought. Metro is right around the corner, and ximending night market is right across the street as well as a lot of eating places. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked the Deluxe Double Room with a window view facing towards the Rainbow Road of Ximending. The room was very big and spacious with a wardrobe to place out luggage and a couch for us to \"people watch\" into Ximending. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in. One thing to note is you have to close the bathroom door when showering because the steam will trigger off the smoke alarm (they post a sign about this in the bathroom). It's also very convenient that the Ximen Station Exit 2 and 3 are right outside in front of the building.

Overall very pleasant stay. Staff were nice and engaging when required. Close to Ximending markets and shops and other tourist locations taking the metro train or uber. Can get overwhelming and overstimulating with all the people and shops but after the 2 or 3 time it gets familiar. Accomodating with a later check out when asked in advanced. Bathroom amenities provided which is good to not have to bring them, only suggestion is to add body lotion. Another suggestion is to extend the house keeping times as only goes to 3pm and on the last few days when heading out later got caught out with it. Another suggestion is more variety of the breakfast or a buffet style if possible, while food was good but limiting at times when it’s the same for over a few days. In summary recommend compared to others when reviewing to stay at in the area.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Adjoining Twin Room with family, very convenient when travelling with more people. Hotel is quite new, rooms are spacious and very well designed. There is ample storage for all your belongings like luggage and shopping. WC is in a separate room from main bathroom. Location is also great, just across Ximending with plenty of food options. Entrance to the metro is just in front of hotel. We also appreciate the high service standards from the friendly hotel staff. Will definitely stay at this hotel on next trip to Taipei.

Sotetsu Grand Fresa Taipei Ximen is a great hotel with a good location and friendly staff who even helped order an air freshener spray online. However, the in-room hairdryer has weak airflow and isn’t hot enough, making it difficult for long, thick hair to dry quickly. Also, my Dyson hairdryer from Singapore didn’t work due to Taiwan’s different voltage.

The stay was great especially its location is tugged right in the heart of Ximending. The housekeeping staff has make the room clean and neat as well! But I have a suggestion for the management, to place a bottle of hand soap in the toilet as well, this is basic amenities. As the bathroom sink and the toilet sink are in two separate rooms, it only makes sense that both sinks have their individual bottled hand soap. I had tried to request for an extra one but was refused.

This is a very bottom line basic Hotel, the carpet and finishing were really cheap worn and tired. The sofa was like a worn -and very poor quality, I thought it was way overrated. I had a five nights stay. I stayed for two nights and when elsewhere.
