Have stayed here before and was happy with our stay again! Rooms are clean and spacious, and there being another door between the door to the room and the actual bedroom means it’s nice and quiet and you don’t hear people in the corridor.
Location is excellent and the price is very good.
The only small downside was when I booked months ago, I did request a room on the side that looks out over tivoli but we were given a room on the other side of the hotel - but this didn’t effect the actual quality of the stay so would definitely recommend this hostel!

We were here for 7 nights as a family of 3 in a 4 bed room.

Pros:
- Staff is super welcoming and kind
- Rooms are tight but not shoebox tiny
- Location is a bit far flung but it's a 20 min walk to anything you could possibly need, and grocery is a 6 min walk away
- you can't really hear any neighboring room noise
- breakfast is a great value for all that you get

Cons:
- can be very noisy with traffic noise if your window is open, but a brown noise app helps a ton
- no AC if you're here in the summer you'll be VERY hot. We had some days in the 70s and the nights were too hot to sleep comfortably. The window slants open, so there isn't any air flow unless your main door is also open
- kitchen is clean but the nonstick pans are in awful condition - I understand it's shared but they're unusable to make a fried egg. The fridges were stinky.

My biggest complaint:
- the mattress and pillows and mattress pads MUST be cleaned/deodorized MUCH more often. Travelers have all different hygiene levels, a lot of young school groups stay here or people just don't use deodorant. If they don't bathe and stink and go to sleep, the bed is *going* to stink. The fresh bedding is generally very clean smelling (although I needed to get extra sets bc some of the freshly washed sheets stank). And the mattresses and pillows could be very stinky. It took me several replacements and stripping the pads off the bed to get the very pungent body odor smells out of our room.

Near Trivoli Garden but the hostel is just ok and expensive. We are there on September, summer time no air conditioning in the room, can’t sleep because it’s hot. We open the windows it’s loud because cars are passing by.
The place need some renovation.

the place was clean and had a lovely biew, but super overpriced for what it offers. the shared dormitory bunks are so uncomfortable to climb the steel ladder. no soap, shampoo, conditioner or hairdryer. you have to make your own bed with provided linen. I don’t think they change the duvet and pillow between customers. the pillow was a small square. no fans or air conditioning either.

Family stay was hot but otherwise perfect

Family vacation with four kids. A perfect place to stay for families with lots of people of multiple ages, kids play areas and gaming tables on the bottom floor, etc. There are lots of adult bike rentals, but make sure to get your kids bikes rented as soon as possible in the morning as the quantity is much smaller. The staff were all super helpful. Also, no AC- this silly American didn’t think to ask. That being said, it was a great place at a great price at a great location. Worth every penny.

Our shower was not draining properly and would flood within seconds.
Mixed feelings because it has great amenities and having a bike rental inside is very convenient.

Really overpriced for what they offered. As a hostel is okay, but if you book a private room with bathroom paying as a regular hotel it is not good value. If you work remotely like us, be aware that there is a tiny desk with no plug in for the laptop. WIFI was no good, Only one towel, no hand towel, no hairdryer, and most important, don't forget your ear plugs!!!! you can hear everything from the other rooms and hallway.

Loved our stay! Hotel was in an incredible location, we were on the 15th floor so had an amazing view out over the city and could see Tivoli lit up at night.

The only downside to this hostel is that parking is expensive in this part of Copenhagen. We enjoyed the view from our room. It was comfortable and conveniently located. We rented bikes from Danhostel and enjoyed riding around the city. The shared kitchen helped us save some money on food and there was a grocery store close by.

First time in Copenhagen, first time ant Danhostel, everything great!
Room clean, amazing view, friendly staff.
Guests kitchen useful even if almost always busy.
The only thing that annoyed me was that everything paid INSIDE the hotel with Revolut in Danish crowns came with a small fee, from the booking to a simple coffee.
Anything we paid OUTSIDE the hotel came with no fee at all. (Transport, every kind of food, supermarkets, souvenirs)
Apart from that, we are very pleased with our experience there.
We would definitely come back

Pros: location , close to everything. about 15 mins walk to central station . nice view of river . grocery store close by. There is a kitchen to cook occasional meals ; also has laundry
Cons: a little dirty , they have a bag of linens , so if you need just a towel you need to get the entire bag even if you wil not be using anything else . they should have a pile for just extra towels .

We didn’t check in until 0100 am. Reception open 24 hrs.
Room has plenty of plug points. At least 8 in our 6 berth room. No USB points.
Ladders for top bunk are behind doors, in wardrobe area so as to be out of the way.
The linen provided is apparently inside out to enable bed making easier.
Window opened wide for ventilation even on top floors.
Didn’t use kitchen or bar area.

Location is good, walking distance to train station and Tivoli. As this is a hostel, there are naturally many teenagers probably on school trips. They tend to be quite noisy. One night, they knocked on our doors loudly multiple times and were running and making a lot of noise in the corridor. Will be good if family with young children like us can be put a different floor so the noise doesn't affect the chidlren's sleep.

This is a busy place to stay, there are a lot of tour groups, especially young school groups. This makes it a little noisy at times and can cause delays with the elevators. That being said, it's still a great place to stay and I would definitely stay again on a future visit to Copenhagen. Best thing about this location – walking distance to Islands Brygge Harbour Bath! Which is more important than you think once you've gone for your first swim.

We had a family room for our family of 5. The room itself was fine. They have you take a bag of sheets and a towel up with you. I like that they are trying to be eco- friendly. But the bathroom is tiny. The shower is ultra tiny. And water gets everywhere because they don’t give you a bath mat to catch the water. Also it’s loud. I know it’s a hostel, but even so. Very close to the train station though.

Only one shower and toilet all together for 8 people dorm room. They should have been at least separate. Imagine waiting nearly 2hrs to take a shower if everyone gets up at once.
And there's no other shower room in the building as well!!
The cleaner didn't seem to come at all over the weekend so the dorm was quite filthy by Monday.
They also changed me for storing my luggage at the and of the stay, which was a small backpack...
Would not recommend staying again.

The location of Danhostel is quite central and was perfect for us. Our room was spacious and clean, with a big bathroom and walk-in shower. The staff at reception and behind the bar was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of choices to suit everyone. The addition of pastries would be nice. We didn’t use all the facilities but saw the self-catering kitchen, laundry room, games room etc. which all seemed clean and well kitted. Danhostel has everything, we will definitely stay there again when in Copenhagen.

For a 1-2 night stay, this property suited our needs. It is a hostel, so there are a lot of people who come in and out of the property. The bar area was lively and fun, there were lots of people from all backgrounds and nationalities hanging around, playing games, and conversing. The rooms were fairly basic and clean, linens and towels were provided in the lobby. Being that this was our first time at a hostel, we didnt expect that we had to fix our own beds, but it wasnt that bad.

The property itself is about a 15 minute walk from the Copenhagen central train station. There is also a bus stop that is 5 minutes away.

We were in Copenhagen for only two nights, DanHostel fit our needs.

Hidden extra credit card charges

The Hostel is fine, but we were charged 3% extra when using a foreign credit card. This was not disclosed in the reservation or when we were checked in or any notice posted nearby. I saw it after only going through the bill details. When asked, they said all foreign card is charged 3% extra in Denmark. But I found out in the next few days this was not true. In fact almost all other stores charged my card at face value (i.e. no extra 3%).

The staff in the hostel are very friendly and helpful especially Tao. The location is perfect if you’re taking the train to Copenhagen. It’s a walking distance from Tivoli Park as well as Christiansborg Palace. I had a very relaxing stay in DanHostel. I highly recommend it if you’re planning to visit Denmark. Cheers!

While there is a bar, common area and a lobby, those spaces are separated and the set up is missing welcoming atmosphere. Its ok for an overnight stay, but for anything longer I'd look somewhere else.

Room was sufficient but hot and a bit dated on the 15th floor. This was fine for one night but I would not recommend longer.
