There’s only one person working at the front desk. Just as we went in to check in, he was leaving for a smoke. He said someone would be there shortly to help. He knew he was the only one working but decided to lie (not good).
The original room they provided had a bath (yay!) but it stank of fish. We told the receptionist who said they could clean it out in an hour. We asked for a different room - it was smaller and no bath.
You request for the room to be cleaned which I think is great - saves a lot of unnecessary work - but cleaning of the room involves only changing of the towels and refilling soap and shampoo - no sweeping of the floor or changing sheets.
Shower takes about 5-8 minutes to get warm - would advice you to turn on the shower to hot as soon as you get in then start unpacking from your day. We stayed in December - room gets quite cold.
Very convenient location - breakfast places just downstairs and right next to Ximen night market.

The hotel places a strong emphasis on sustainability, so daily room cleaning is not provided. However, towels are replaced regularly, which was sufficient for our needs. As we stayed for a week, a full room cleaning was arranged once, which we appreciated. The staff were informative, friendly, and helpful in addressing our questions. The hotel is also very well located, with convenient access to Ximending and the MRT, making it easy to get around.

What was nice about the hotel was its spacious rooms and its location near local restos, there’s a 7/11 across, and proximity to the Ximending Market. It’s a 9min walk to Ximen station. What I didn’t like was there were no usual daily amenities. Upon check-in there was a one time free 2 bottles of water and some snacks but no coffee, no room slippers, no bath amenities like toothbrush except for the soap and shampoo in dispensers. When we asked to change towels, the housekeeping said “no”. We stayed for 6 days! We needed to change towels. Check-in was cool, there was a self-check-in machine that dispenses your keycards. Quick and smooth check-out too.

Good location, but property is dated

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was just OK. The property felt dated, wallpaper is ripping off, front of building smells like smoke, and the shower head did not fit properly on the fixture so it was constantly moving around. The toilet seat also did not fit the toilet as it was too small. The body wash barely generated foam. It was nice they had a washer and dryer on property, too bad the dryer only dries for 25 minutes so you have to pay for 2-3 dries for clothes to be dried.

Older lady at front desk is very friendly and nice.

We chose this property because of value and location, but will likely pick a different hotel next time as it felt more like a 1-2 star hotel.

I stayed at Ximengding Xining Branch. The hotel is within a walking distance to train stations and Ximengding. There are plenty restaurants nearby. Excellent location and the staff is friendly. The hotel room is small and basic. It’s ok if you are out most of the time. The carpet looks worn out. I would not recommend walking with barefoot. Overall, I had a pleasant stay.

Simple no frills lodging place

It’s a very comfortable & clean Room no. 313 that we stayed. It’s just right behind the counter. NOTE:: if you are checking in to this Xining Branch before 3pm, you’ve to leave the luggages at the Ximen Branch as there is no counter service. The reception area is also a service area with amenities like water cooler, tidbits and tea bags. Expect no grandeur of a lobby of a hotel as this is just a room only lodging place.

Affordable, well-located, not fancy. I don't want a fancy hotel, I don't want to deal with obsequious staff, I just want a room at a reasonable price in a good location. This hotel provides that, and I would absolutely stay here again. Yeah, weak plumbing means you need to put used TP in a trash can, well NBD there's plenty of places like that in the world so it doesn't bother me.

This branch specifically left a lot to be desired. The rooms are very outdated, there was a lot of trash under the beds, and there is not 24 hour front desk. If you book a taxi through the hotel, you will need to walk with your luggage to their other location. The snacks and drinks mentioned by other reviewers are not present. There is tea in the lobby, though.
If you go to the other branch (to wait for your taxi), you will find the snacks and foot spa, etc that others have mentioned.
I do not recommend this location, it is over priced and not at all like the photos.

Area is good, but not convenient to MRT stations.

Had a 4 night stay here. Room was bigger than expected, which is a plus. Window was pretty small, but was sufficient to let in light to brighten the room. There is also a hot and cold water dispenser at the reception area.

Toilet was kind of cramp, but facilities were in working order. Great water pressure and hot water. However, I do not understand the notice on the door which says that the towels are not for hair drying, and that toilet paper is not to be disposed of in the toiletbowl. The toilet does not have a bidet.

Wifi was strong and stable. Location is good too. About 3 mins to the bus stations, 5 mins walk to Ximen Station, 10 mins to Taoyuan Airport MRT, 15 mins walk to Taipei Main station, and 20 mins walk to NTU Hospital Station. But do take note that there are 2 Muzik hotels. I think many people got lost and went to the one nearer to Ximen Station. But the staff is friendly and will guide you on the correct path.

Being in Ximen, there are tons of food and shopping options. You will not go hungry here.

Will come back here again.

The room itself was pretty good. The beds were comfortable and clean and everything else was good. The only thing that ruined my stay was the service by the staff of the hotel. I was awakened in shock as there were a bunch of drunken people screaming, shouting and banging on random doors at my Level none stop. I called in to the front desk 4 times to request for help to resolve the issue but nothing was done. The noise lasted for an hour and finally ended after a bunch of them started puking.

My family of 5 stayed for 10 days at this hotel. There is no breakfast provide but the hotel provided free bread buns and nice coffee. Hot water is readily available. The facilities in this hotel are as good as similar hotel in Ximending that we had stayed before and overall experience is good. The hotel has provides free cup noddles in the evenings. The staffs are nice and accommodating. I am traveling with a 2yrs old child and two other children so I booked a family room. The hotel has self-service washing machine and dryer for clothes washing which is convenient when traveling with children. Security wise we feel quite safe.

The room was below my expectations. Different from the photos but that’s ok. One of the day, the hotel was facing water disruption due to an earthquake but the guests were not informed. I showered my toddler son and the water getting from weak pressure to no water. Call receptionist but she was not able to explain in english. Luckily I understand a little bit of mandarin so i get what she’s trying to say. I have to use mineral water to rinse off the soap. The water issue was rectified on the same day

Booked the family room with 2 double bed for 6 nights for my family trip of 4 to Taipei and I really liked this hotel! Walkable to Ximending shopping district, train station and surrounded by restaurants, 7-11 and massage. Really good hotel to stay in! Definitely my choice when I come back to Taipei next time. Spacious bedroom and toilet, free refilled of mini bar drinks and snacks every single day! They even have souvenirs purchase and breakfast delivery service if you need any. The staffs are super friendly and will check on you if you require makeup of room if you happen to stay in late for the day. Extremely clean rooms and very comfortable to stay in. Lastly big thanks to the reception staff Bryce for helping me out on the last day as I had booked the wrong date for my airport transport and was running late and getting very anxious. He assisted me on contacting the provider and finding a solution for me. Big thanks for helping me out otherwise I would have missed my flight. Can’t wait to come back to Taipei and stay at Muzik Hotel Xining Branch again!

A hidden gem in Ximending Area

The hotel was way nicer that I was expecting. My bed had balloons, confetti and a basket of snack as a warm welcome gesture. Greatly appreciated. The staff are very helpful and can converse in English well. They have free bread for breakfast (first come first serve policy) and unlimited coffee access via coffee machine and also free tea and small snack at the common pantry area. The rooms are clean and spacious. They were able to secure a room with a tub when I made a request several weeks ahead of my trip.

Overall is good. Previously i have stay in this hotel before but at ximen branch, i still recalled 5 yrs back when i stayed, the staff was much more friendly than this round stay but nonetheless, it was good. The room we have was spacious enough but maybe due to that we have added an additional bed. During the stay, one of the bedsheet for the bed was stained and we have requested for a change but after we come back, it have not been changed while rest of room was tidy up. Hence i have to give a call to the reception again. Other than this, all was good. What i like is they have a small sitting area for us to have a bite outside our room.

A nice hotel near Ximending

Initially, we couldn't locate the hotel. The reception was not at the ground level as with other hotels; it was on the 3rd floor after taking the lift up from a very run-down entrance with a security guard. However, once at the 3rd floor reception, the situation improves, i.e. the look of it matches the pictures posted online. We got a family room and there were 3 beds : 2 x single beds + 1 kind size bed with pillars-in-between for privacy. The room is nicely done up and we were quite pleased with it. It is a 5-8 min walk to Ximending as advertised and so all is good.

The room itself is nice, clean and has what you'd expect. And the location is good for hitting some shops, including a couple of great coffee/breakfast shops. But the rest of the experience at this hotel was below par, and here's why:
1. We were told at check in not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. So, yes, this means ALL used toilet paper is supposed to go into your trash can. Gross.
2. We paid for the breakfast, but they do not offer a breakfast at the hotel. At check in, we were told that we could pick our \"breakfast\" from the menu at the front counter and that it would be delivered from a local restaurant...around 10am. The options were weird sandwiches, none of which resembled any breakfast item (Asian or otherwise) and non looked appetizing. And for business travelers, breakfast at 10am at a hotel you won't want to be hanging out at is simply not an option.
3. Doors and floors transmit ALL the noises from people above, below and adjacent to you.
4. We ordered the \"family\" room, and it was smaller than expected based on the photos. Yes, we could sleep four by sharing beds, which was expected, but these were full size beds at best, not queen sized. And the comforters (there was no top sheet, only a comforter) were too small, so my son and I were basically fighting for coverage throughout the night. Beds were also rather firm, as were the pillows.

A 15 minutes walk from ximen mrt station and the hotel is located right inside of ximending which travelers might face difficulties during their first visit hence would recommend travelers to book Muzik Hotel that is near ximen station as they have two outlets. Room was clean and comfortable but the sink seems to be a little faulty and clogged. Feedback-ed to hotel staff but no actions were made.

Gotten a free upgrade to a room with window. Got coffee machine and some snack. As the hotel is a little distance from the centre of action, thus no excessive loud noises at night. Overall good.
