Friendly & professional staff. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for example, requesting a bucket of soapy water / sponge to clean our car of seagull droppings every morning. Also, a guest in an above room to ours left his bath tap running & then laid on his bed to \"rest\" causing his room & ours, to flood! On informing the staff that there is a major leak happening into our room from above, they immediately contacted the other guest / stopped the bath overflowing & once they'd secured his bathroom, offered us an alternative room & compensation for our trouble - through no fault of their own. I highly recommend the Claremont Hotel, Polperro.

A very welcoming hotel in Polperro. The room was cosy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was also very good. It’s just a short walk to the Harbour and has the added bonus of an included car parking space. Highly recommended.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. Our breakfast waitress for three out of our four days was fantastic. Helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu was extensive, so everyone should be able to find something that they like. The food itself was average. The poached eggs on the Eggs Benedict were overcooked, and the bacon had some sort of white residue on it (congealed fat I think). This happened several times, so not just a one-off. The room sizes (square footage) are listed on their website, so maybe shame on me for not realizing what 325 square feet really feels like. The room was clean and there was a small wardrobe to store clothes. but there is no room to store luggage and still be able to walk around the bed. We struggled with the tiny bathroom. The shower is about the size of a telephone box so you cannot turn around, raise your arms, or bend over in the shower. Very uncomfortable. The sink was tiny (roughly 25 x 14 cm) and awkwardly mounted sideways with the faucet on the left side. You could not bend over the sink without bumping your head on the small glass shelf. It's great that they have their own reserved parking just across the street, but if you're driving anything larger than a standard saloon car or small SUV it's a challenge to maneuver around other vehicles when moving in or out of the parking spaces. Overall this place has several highly desirable features, but be aware that the rooms have little or no storage and are small.

Room was clean but smelt of dog even though it was a dog free room. Bathroom very small but functional. Breakfast excellent. However we did not like the fact that dogs are allowed into breakfast room. Not very hygienic. Good parking, always got a space.

We stayed for 3 nights end of August . And it was brilliant . I liked the fact that it was Adults only as well . Becky and Diane our point of contact during the stay were most welcoming and made us feel at ease . The breakfasts were all freshly prepared and the best I’ve eaten in this country. The choice of breakfasts were great as well and they set us up for the day. There is also a 24/7 coffee machine to help yourself on site which I thought was a great idea . And choice of drinks and snacks at the honesty bar.
The cleanliness was second to none . We enjoyed having breakfast on the sheltered terrace but there is also a dining room as well.
Some aspects of the interior does need updating especially the room we were in . Which was up in the eaves and was clad in wooden pine reminiscent of a chalet . The other thing with this room was the toilet was extremely small and tight and in fact had just been fashion off the corner of the bedroom . the actual bath and shower were on a different level so you had to go up and down a small flight of stairs which was extremely inconvenient. The wash basin was in the actual bedroom . The room was the only disappointing thing of this hotel . Everything else was excellent. The shower was great and the toiletries were all you could require . We would like to visit again but would stay in a different room . The staff are a credit to this hotel .

The hotel is in an excellent position for everything. The harbour, plenty of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, lovely walks are all there. There is a ‘tuk tuk’ that takes you back and forth through the village for those with limited walking and a bus runs at the top of the village to Looe and various other places.
You can also get boat trips to Looe and Fowey or half an hour trips around the area.
It’s perfect for a weeks stay and is a working fisherman’s harbour with an interesting museum about smuggling and bygone times.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Polperro. Very friendly greeting by Becky. She was Bubbly and very helpful and informative about the hotel and Polperro. We have mobility issues so when we were told we had bookef the top floor (3 flights) she found us a lower room and helped with the luggae ustairs. Nice room and lovely lounge and breakfast room. It was great to get a drink at the honesty bar and sit on the lovely terrace above the road and watch the world go by. Only downside was that the toilet kept blocking in our room (room 2).

Third time we have stayed here. Very convienient, nice breakfast, friendly staff. The let down was Room 12 which has restricted head room which is a particular issue if you wake at night. Was not aware of this when booking though now ive looked at reviews, others have commented on the same issue. Will definately stay again, just not in that room.

Off peak stay for 5 days. Excellent hotel and service from arrival to departure was first class. Breakfast was varied and cooked extremely well. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Ideal location for walking and having a private car park opposite the hotel is a real bonus. Only thing to note is there are no lifts so cases need to be carried up to your room. Not a problem for us however. Facilities like wi-fi was good also system for getting a drink in the lounge. Staff were excellent. Well worth a visit.

The hotel is on the main street of a pictureque Cornish fishing village and has its own gated car park across the street from the hotel. The narrow street is not noisy because it is 'access only' for cars.
The place is clean and tastefully decorated and is run by the friendly owners and their equally friendly staff.
No food is offered except a very good breakfast menu which is waitress served. An 'honesty bar' is available.
This was our second visit to the Claremont and we would be very happy to stay again if we return to Polperro.

Second visit here, lovely welcoming hotel with a super breakfast and parking right outside which is great for Polperro. Hotel right in the heart of the village , great for the harbour , pubs and eateries . Only downside for us was the room in the attic number 12 , not for us the staff called it the marmite room you either love it or hate it and we were the latter , to much pine a very small toilet next to the bed and dated .

We had the room at the top of the hotel, it was on the second floor, up some pretty steep flights and very narrow so it was quite difficult for us. I think that might be better advertised. The breakfast was excellent, you could have whatever you wanted. The terrace at the front is brilliant. The staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The car park opposite is an absolutely great attribute for this hotel. Lots of pubs and eateries within easy walking distance.

Breakfast really tasty, freshly cooked, served promptly Room was really, really noisy during a downpour .. of course nothing much can be done about that in a lovely old building. Maybe reception area could have a few leaflets about local walks and wildlife and perhaps a list of bus times and destinations. Not everyone has private transport and smartphones. Great stay. The hotel had character, so we had to accept an unusual room which was rather cramped in places, particularly in the bathroom. We were trusted to help ourselves to alcoholic drinks & note what we had taken. Unfortunately the hotel did not serve dinner, but the breakfast was excellent & served by Di, a cheerful, helpful, pleasant lady. There were some lovely seating areas both inside & out facing the village. The car park was tight for space but at least there was one.
