I had sent an email prior to arrival about parking and bedding and nobody responded when we arrived all the parking was taken and it cost an extra $30 for parking down the street.

I had a quick overnight after 2 very long travel days without much sleep. I arrived in the CBD at 8am and was able to store my luggage in order to explore the city before check-in. I booked a private room to get some rest before travelling on and it was excellent. The bed was clean and comfy, and the window opened for fresh air. Although the room was right off the kitchen, it was quiet after 9pm and through the night.
The location was fabulous, just a short walk to Cuba street and all the funky shops and cafes. I even walked to the harbour and to the Botanic gardens.
I didn’t do any cooking, but I really appreciated the hot water on demand for my tea! The staff were great. The property and rooms are “well used” and could use some freshening up, but bathrooms were cleaned regularly. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you.

Great price for an easy stay. Lovely place the staffs are very friendly and all the guests are friendly and polite, the place is tidy and safe. We had the private ensuite room, small but offered everything we needed. It was a little bit noisy as the room is near laundry and kitchen but we were good sleepers so no border. Definitely recommend it.

The room was very small and stuffy, there was only space for the bunks and a shelving unit/cupboard which was broken so I was not able to secure my belongings. It was a little inconvenient with the stairs and the location of the amenities, but otherwise it was a nice place and certainly perfect for backpackers. I want to say I loved my stay, but because the property was in the midst of painting the walls on our floor, it was not great. Lots of noise (at 4am from the kitchen by our room), lots of dust and paint fumes, tripping hazards where tarp had come up. Yeah, not great. BUT, of the four front desk people we talked to three were absolute stars. Very helpful. Very friendly. I think I'll come back to see what the renovation does for the place. It's got good bones and great people and it's in a really convenient location. I'll be back.

Place was fairly comfortable, but my room was a twin bunk room behind the kitchen and the laundry and was fairly noisy until pretty late. Also, it had an ensuite but the sink was very tiny. The shower was good, but there was no bath mat. Parking was available but it was $25 a day which some say is a good price for central Wellington. If you don't mind a 20 minute walk, you can buy a coupon to park along Oriental Parade all day for only $8.50.

Bit frustrating that's there were only 3 showers and toilets on the floor for a lot of people -the toilet and showers are in the same cubicle some if you need to use either there can be quite a wait. Our double room had an extra single bunk aboveboard that was unnecessary. Kettle on room was great. Good wifi. Good parking. Would stay again.

With all the hotels in town booked, this was the only reasonable choice for accommodation for a last-minute business trip. I haven't stayed at a hostel in about 10 years, and the experience was much the same as then. You should expect noisely neighbors at night, but otherwise the stay was uneventful and did the job for one night.

We had a great stay. The areas are cleaned daily and everyone kept things tidy. The showers were great. this back packers is a great, cost effective place to stay. e were happy and warm. We could get out to the inner city easily walking. It was good to have somewhere safe to park the car. The noise level from other people staying was respectful.

This hostel is a busy hostel as it is in central, can be busy and noisy at times but there is no noise curfew after 11pm. which somewhat helpful. The room I stayed was a private double room which was basic, the bed was a bit squeaky and past its best. Bathroom was OK. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Room was fantastic, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee etc, tv, en suite bathroom, really clean and large room. The entrance hall/ reception area was also very good, staff were lovely. The rest of the place looked a bit tired and the outside not so good, but don’t let that put you off. The bed linen was top quality and the bed was so comfortable.
