Overall the hotel and room are a little dated for a 5 star rating. Our room was road facing with all the noise that accompanies that on a Friday night.

As I mentioned to the front desk staff, there was a lot of noise coming from the gym on level 3, as people dropped weights. This was particularly annoying early in the morning and late at night. It’s opening hours should really be restricted.

The staff were nice and the room itself was perfectly fine. The biggest problems were that the walls are very thin and we were in a room below the gym (which is the third floor). There was constant banging on the ceiling during the morning/evening when the gym was open so this was very annoying. I’ve never been in a hotel with the gym above rooms before.

Room was nice and modern design, the parking process was a little confusing but staff directions helped alot, the staff were great and super friendly, my only 1 and major complaint was the bed, it was the hardest, firmest most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept it, we checked out at 4am as we couldn't sleep in it and our backs were acheing, we were too tired for debating with staff so just checked out and left, please upgrade your beds for your customers!

We had a fantastic weekend at Doubletree by Hilton celebrating a special anniversary. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable by providing an upgrade, a personalised card, complimentary ‘treat’ snacks, a charming arrangement of ‘swan’ towels and petals, and a late checkout. (Even the standard checkout time is great.) The room was fabulous - spacious and tastefully decorated - and we loved the bathroom, too, including the wonderful Crabtree and Evelyn products. The bed was really comfy and the pillows to die for. Breakfast was delicious and we especially liked the variety of healthy drink options, including the berry fruit immunity drink and the cucumber and herb detox water. The reception staff suggested we might like to invite our Wgtn-based daughter to join us for breakfast at the discounted rate, which was lovely, as we wouldn’t have thought to ask. Doubletree is in a great location. Parking is easy and affordable, and in the same building. We walked to Cuba Street for dinner in the evening and stepped out into Lambton Quay in the morning for some shopping. Overall, we had a really relaxing weekend in this character-filled hotel. The reception staff were amazing and made us feel special, as did the restaurant team. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Our family stay at DoubleTree Wellington on 5th July 2025 was one of our worst hotel experiences. At check-in, the Duty Manager insisted our booking didn’t include breakfast, despite it being clearly listed in the Expedia reservation.
We had to return to the front desk multiple times before another staff member finally confirmed breakfast was included—no follow-up from the original staff.
That night, we endured drunken disturbances on Level 6 until after 6am. Multiple calls to the front desk went unanswered, despite being 24hrs front desk; only the emergency line responded at 5am. Sleep was nearly impossible.
The room also had minor maintenance issues. Very disappointing overall. Never again.
