Fabulous stay. Highly recommend. I’m a very picky traveller when it comes to hotels - and this one blew me away. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff were incredible. The hotel and rooms brand new, spotless. The views from the room were stunning. Three metro stops within a min of the front door of the hotel yet a quiet neighborhood. The only downside was the gym. If you like to weight lift - you need to find another gym but one is very close by. I’d stay again any time. Last time I was in Japan I skipped this hotel because it seemed cheaper in price than others and substantially so - thought maybe something may be off…but sad I skipped it last time. Next time - this is where I will stay again

The staff and location were excellent. The lounge was closed for the duration of my stay which was disappointing but the hotel is nice. The rooms are small but updated and it’s a nice and quiet area in shinjuku in walking distance to a variety of stations.

Loved loved loved MGH, super convenient location. 7 mins or less to train stations, but also very walkable. 40 min walk from shibuya crossing; I made the walk at 3a since trains stop running around midnight. Very safe and very clean. Would stay here again. Came with pajamas in the room, convenient amenities like disposable towels.

Good location on the oedo line so it was easy to get around Tokyo. We loved the bakery downstairs it was nice to grab breakfast and take it out to the lovely gardens. We took advantage of the rooftop and coin laundry which was nice at the tail end of our trip. Really clean and nice place definitely good value for what it cost us.

This is a beautiful hotel, very clean with comfortable but reasonably firm beds. The standard rooms are quite small and would be a challenge with two people. It was not possible to have a suitcase left open because of the width of the hallway and limited space around the bed, but it was lovely to have a balcony overlooking the park and I would happily stay here again as a solo traveler. It was reasonably quiet considering the location and good for sleeping at night although I did use earplugs because of roadworks outside on the first night. The staff were efficient but not overly friendly or helpful. The cafe and restaurant on site had limited hours so I did not use them, and the rooftop terrace was closed at the time of my stay because of the typhoon. The onsen was lovely and well maintained and the gym was basic but clean. It could benefit from more equipment or weights. The location of the hotel right next door to a train station was good even though it’s not on the main line. Please be aware though that the entrance to the train station right next to the hotel has stairs which made it difficult with luggage. If you take exit A2 to the stadium side, you can get an elevator and then cross the road.

We had a pleasant stay at this clean, well-maintained hotel. The room was comfortable, with a useful mini kitchen, and the self-service laundry and microwave were convenient. Although we didn't use the amenities, there appeared to be several available.

We appreciated the complimentary bottled water, replenished daily. However, for a 5-star hotel, we expected a few more thoughtful touches, such as extra beverage options or small treats.

The room was a good size, but there was no dedicated luggage space, so we used the day bed for storage.

The location is convenient for the Olympic Stadium and close to two train lines, making it easy to get around Tokyo. However, central Shinjuku is about a 20-minute walk away, and the nearest convenience store is around 15 minutes on foot.

Overall, this is a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent transport links, though a few extra touches would better reflect its 5-star rating.

Great quiet place to come back for some much needed rest after all the activity during the day. Queen Double Rooms were on the smaller side but this is common in Tokyo; the Twin bed rooms were far more spacious. Very clean! The only thing that although convenient, could use some upgrade is the coin laundry - our clothes didn't dry completely so we had to air dry in our rooms. Beware of this if you are on a strict traveling schedule. Overall we loved our stay here and would highly recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingugaien Tokyo Premier with my family during our visit to Tokyo. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay, always willing to assist and making us feel welcomed from check-in to check-out.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained, which made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection of options, making it a great start to each day before exploring the city.

The hotel amenities were also excellent. The onsen area was very clean, peaceful, and private, creating a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The hotel also had a gym available, which was a great option for anyone wanting to fit in a workout during their stay.

The location was also beautiful and conveniently located near different areas of Tokyo. Places like Shibuya and Harajuku were only a few stops away using local transit, making it easy to explore different parts of the city while still enjoying a quieter atmosphere around the hotel.

Overall, the hotel provided a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely stay here again for future trips to Tokyo!

My partner and I enjoyed this property. Around the building there is a flower garden that is very beautiful. You have local train access that is very convenient after a long day exploring the area.
The only set back was the restaurant in the hotel. It was never available when we wanted to grab a bite to eat before heading out for the day or ending our evening. There was always a 30-40minute wait when the restaurant was empty. Literally empty but my observation as I sat in the lobby was that it is reserved for the locals. I observed people walking in that were not staying at the hotel and were seated immediately. The 30-40 minute wait was a way of discouraging us to wait. As a tourist they know that time is of the essence for us.

Great place all around. Nice firm mattresses. We had a balcony room with a beautiful view of the stadium next door. Its located in a very green space with tons of trees. It does get a little loud with traffice during the daylight hours but that shouldn’t be a problem if you’re planning to be out exploring the city. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. The amenities were great, I just wish they had more washers/dryers. Many guests use this feature and there was quite a big queue. Definitely would stay here again

The stay was average. The hotel is located next to a station, but it’s on a line that doesn’t take you to the main spots, so you need to walk about 8 minutes to the nearest station that connects you to the city. There are no konbinis in the immediate area either, with the nearest one also a 10-minute walk away.

The amenities are virtually non-existent for a 5-star hotel. The gym is poor, and the laundry and vending machines are equally underwhelming. The guest lounge was also unavailable during our stay, which further reduced what was on offer. The downstairs cafe and breakfast look fancy, but the coffee comes from an automatic machine rather than the proper manual setup you would expect at this level.

Architecturally, the building is excellent and very pleasing to the eye. The staff are extremely helpful, polite, and speak good conversational English. The rooms are very tight, but the in-room amenities are okay.

The entertainment TVs are also outdated, with no ability to cast from your own device, when you would expect AirPlay or Android casting support as standard.
Overall, it was an okay hotel, but certainly not to a 5-star standard.

Great place to stay if you prefer to be out of the chaos of central Tokyo. Lovely leafy surrounds and anywhere you need to go is a 20-25 minute trip of combined train/walk.

There’s a lovely bakery downstairs in the foyer if you don’t get breakfast included, but the breakfast is well worth it. Huge selection of western and Japanese options that’s all extremely fresh and well prepared for a buffet style.

Beds a Lee very comfortable and we were lucky to be on the 12th floor which made for a great view when the stadium is emptying after and event.

Staff were very friendly and helpful if you need ideas or get stuck trying to work out the taxis etc.

Definitely recommend if you like being somewhere more peaceful and relaxing after a big day of exploring.

This place is in a perfect location next to all the action without being too in it. Loved this place but only one big thing it was lacking for me was the laundry situation. Only one machine for the men’s and 2 machines for the women for the whole hotel. They were all always occupied 24 hours. It was impossible to get my laundry in there. So I landed up going to the local laundromat which is walking distance from the hotel. Otherwise I would have rated it a 5/5. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way! The owners of this establishment need to install a machine on every floor.

This was a lovely hotel in the middle of Tokyo with a wonderful restaurant, stylish but small rooms, and nice view from the included balcony. They gave you slippers and pajamas to use, and the public bath was very relaxing (once you got comfortable with the naked requirement…no swimsuits allowed!)

Only complaint was the bathroom…there was no place to hang your clothes and towel in the shower area, so if you were rooming with someone other than your partner (kids, friends, other relatives), you had to close off the whole bathroom/hallway area to get dressed or try to balance your clothes and toiletries on the back ledge of the tub so it wouldn’t get wet. There also wasn’t a grab bar, so if you have mobility issues or are elderly, it was definitely a hazard. If they just put a couple hooks or towel racks or shelves on the back wall of the bathroom, it would have been much easier.

Other than that, it was a wonderful stay!

Great location for subway, JR, & Shinjuku. Spacious rooms for Tokyo standard, quite clean & good condition, loved the balcony! Had a comfortable stay but front desk was disorganised on the morning we wanted to check out & queue was disorderly. Apart from this our stay was great. Clean hotel with lovely staff, a nice (uncrowded) gym, and convenient subway access. Beds are comfortable, lighting is great, and outlets are well placed. Breakfast was good but can get busy.

The main drawback is the room layout. Storage is limited and poorly ventilated—there’s just one shelf and a small drawer in the closet, and opening the doors blocks the walkway. Shelving above the fridge is unusable due to fixed decor, and the safe is too small for a laptop. Towel space is also limited for two people, especially in humid or rainy conditions, and entryway hooks don’t get much airflow. There is a luggage rack, but no practical place to use it. The large balcony is also underutilized, with minimal furniture.

Suggestions: remove closet doors to improve airflow and open up the space, add a full-size safe (e.g., above the fridge), clear usable shelving, and add more towel bars or better drying options. Alternatively, make better use of the balcony space—or even consider integrating part of it into the room.

On the check-in, it took the staff about 20 minutes to complete the process even though a prior express check-in was done.
The overall room amenity is excellent, but the process for daily breakfast was chaotic, large crowd always formed around the lobby area, waiting to be ushered to the breakfast seat. Not a pleasant experience.

This is a beautiful hotel aesthetically speaking; the rooms are bright and spacious; and the reception staff are excellent. It is, however, expensive and this coupled with some glaring negatives means tourists should book with open eyes. First, the hotel is far from most locales tourists want to frequent — it is essentially in the ‘burbs. There are very few cafes and restaurants nearby - outside the hotel. Most ridiculously, there is a cafe in the lobby where one can buy coffee and a croissant (for, say, breakfast) but no place to eat…no seats/stools in the cafe; those are reserved for those having the buffet. A sign in the cafe says: no sitting and eating in the lobby or on the rooftop terrace. When we asked where we could eat we were told to walk 15 minutes to the park, pay Y500 to enter the park and eat there! What the hell? That’s absolutely nuts!!! This is not how paying guests should be treated!

My partner and I just returned from a fantastic stay at the Mitsui Gardens Hotel in Shinjuku! The hotel was close to everything without being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. There is a peaceful, well-served subway stop (Ueno line) 50 feet away from the hotel entrance. The lobby is tasteful, and our room was small but lovely. The bath facilities were so wonderful. We used it daily. And the breakfast was fabulous — eggs Benedict made to order?! Yes, please! We can’t wait to go back!

A great mix of highest quality accommodation, city access, and green breathing room - just right for us, especially for our first days in Tokyo! An entrance to the E line subway station was directly next door to the hotel, which was excellent for getting around the city. Getting to this hotel from the airport only took one transfer from the Haneda monorail. Great kind staff, easy check in. The corner room with balcony cost a bit more but was so comfortable and well-appointed it was worth it. My partner & I normally sleep in a full-size bed at home, but this hotel’s Japanese twin was surprisingly big enough for us to still sleep together. Awesome shower/tub room with deep soaking tub. Comfy one-size pajamas offered with the towels. Awesome breakfast, every morning, and the in-hotel bakery was stunningly good too. Walkable to Shinjuku gardens, Meiji Jingu Shrine, some cafes and pharmacy. I am so happy we booked here, and we get to stay here again before we fly out.

Hotel is walking distance to 3 different train stations and Harajuku (~20 minutes). Surrounding area is quiet which is great after visiting the touristy areas but there isn’t many food options close by. We either ate or picked up food before returning to the hotel. We did run into a celebrity in the lobby one night that made our son’s day because he was able to get a picture with him :)

Generally the room was great, it was cleaned well each day. However, it was a bit run down in that there were scuffs and marks all over the walls which at first glance makes you think the rooms aren't clean. My room was tucked in a corner and I couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms which was amazing. Having the balcony was a nice touch to to get fresh air into the room.

The breakfast was great, lots to offer, although sometimes some items were cold which is to expected I guess at a buffet of this kind.

Plus to having laundry in the hotel and actually enforcing removing of people's items if they don't come back at their ending time to claim them. Too often people put in laundry and then head off for the day which is terribly annoying.

Location was perfect in that it was in a quiet area that was easily accessible to main Subway lines. Didn't have any problem getting anywhere and was thankful to return back to the quiet area the hotel was in at the end of the day.

Overall had a nice stay and would recommend it to other people with some caveats.

We enjoyed our stay at Mitsui garden. The staff was friendly and the room and common areas were very clean and tidy. As far as location goes, it was ok. It was nice and quiet and It’s not next to any of the main touristy attractions that everyone is after but it is close enough if you jump on the train and go. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent customer service. Mostly clean rooms and beds… mostly. Stain on our comforter and blonde hairs from previous customers. Walls were a bit dirty. Breakfast was literally not good honestly I don’t know why it’s listed as highly rated. However, I am particular about my food. The coffee, tea and smoothies were good. I also don’t know why it is listed as 5 star hotel? Definitely not. At all. Probably an okay 4 star or a good 3 star. Great service from employees, we had the king size bed - small rooms but that is expected in Tokyo. Good location very close to train stations and convenience stores. Close to Shibuya and Shinjuku by walking less than 30 minutes for most things, but out of the super busy areas. Don’t regret staying, however I will not choose it again based off of the price. They did clean the room everyday and the shower/bath combination was nice with great pressure and hot water. Should not be more than $200 a night in my humble opinion. Nice view from balcony. There is a little walk area. Close to shinjuku garden which was beautiful. Decent hotel, however the listing made it sound a lot nicer than it was.

Great hotel, well located . Excellent staff. Made use of the gym and the fabulous onsen.
Housekeeping was spot on
Shame there’s so little storage for clothes on the room and we had to live out of the suitcase.
Also a pity the bar shuts so nearly in the evening

Not a lot of shops nearby. Restaurants are very spread out and scarce in this area. The rooms are very nice, but a touch on the small side and the lighting in the room was pretty dim. But overall, this hotel was an excellent day.

Clean hotel and the staff were very respectful and helpful. Train station is right next to hotel, making traveling by train convenience for a lone traveler. The area is very nice and room is larger than most standard Japanese hotels. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious!

Our experience with the check-in and front lobby staff was great; we really appreciated their welcoming spirit. The breakfast buffet was good, though it lacked a \"wow\" factor. It was crowded at times, but the staff did their best to keep things organized.

The standard room (one queen bed) was small. It wasn't an issue for us since we didn't have large suitcases, but be aware that large luggage would likely take up more than half of the room’s hallway. We weren't entirely impressed with the housekeeping, as we had to remind them to leave us bottled water and the skincare packages (which aren't available in the lobby).

The laundry room was always busy, as there are only four washer/dryer combo machines for the entire hotel. While we were lucky enough to get two loads done, our companions unfortunately witnessed an intense confrontation between other guests and the staff over the wait. As for the location, it was quiet yet convenient—we enjoyed our daily walks to Shinjuku and Shibuya, even though there were multiple stations nearby.

Overall, the experience was okay. We stayed at four different hotels during our trip to Japan, and this one would rank third out of the four.

New, clean hotel albeit next to station. Rooms are tastefully furnished however lighting design in bathroom is dim and can be improved. Service was efficient but impersonal. Breakfast dining gets crowded at peak hours and was required to wait in queue. Onsen is well maintained but no towels provided - disappointing for this price point.

Right from the start it was a great experience for our 2 week trip, the staff were super nice and inviting. The amenities were great, they allowed for delivery which we needed last minute and all around was a great experience with everything you need for a stay.

Not the mention the hotel is close to 3 train stations which allowed us to go all around Tokyo super efficiently as well as to Yokohama which we did for a day trip.
