Room and staff were terrific, location and view was perfect. We had access to four restaurants for breakfast… had any of them been good I would have given a Five Star rating. The breakfast was simply not too the standard of other five star hotels we’ve been all over the world. Hotel was wonderful.

From the moment we arrived at Executive House ZEN, I felt I was stepping into something exceptional. The calm, elegant design of the lounge and rooms immediately set a tone of luxury and tranquility,exactly what you’d hope for in an upscale Hotel.

The suite itself was spacious, with a king-size bed, plush amenities, and lovely views over Tokyo’s cityscape and gardens. The bathroom felt more like a spa retreat,refined touches, high-quality toiletries like Salvatore Ferragamo, and a bathtub that invites you to linger.

Service throughout was outstanding. Staff were attentive, warm and professional. Having a dedicated concierge, exclusive check-in/check-out, and access to the ZEN lounge with food/drinks and breathtaking views made the stay feel pampered.

The location is another highlight set in Chiyoda with proximity to landmarks like the Imperial Palace and elegant gardens. Yet despite being in the heart of the city, there’s a serene feeling thanks to the 400-year-old Japanese garden on the property. It gives you a sense of escape without sacrificing access to what Tokyo has to offer.

If I were to find minor downsides, I’d say some of the non-ZEN common areas feel a bit dated compared with the refined ZEN parts. And though the food is generally very good, a couple of dining out experiences were poor.

Amazing stay. Incredible service at Executive House Zen. If you want incredible service, quiet & comfort then stay here! Loved how quiet it was (very & we stayed in a number of Tokyo hotels- the garden around the property was a quietness buffer that was more effective than being on the 45th floor of other hotels). Beds were quite comfortable even if a little on the firm side (standard for Japan).

Great view of Mt Fuji from the lounge. Impeccable service, especially by Yuki. Excellent English & went so far out of her way to make sure we had a great time & had everything we could ever need. The rest of the team were flawless too.

Loved the garden- worth it on its own.

Super close to the subway, so very convenient, Always taxis at the door with staff happy to explain in Japanese exactly where you need to go to the driver. (Tip- Make sure you have a physical credit card with you in Tokyo & some Yen cash).

I travel a lot and this hotel is now one of my favourites in the world. Highly recommend!

We were in the Executive Zen floor of New Otani. We only stayed 1 night as it was a stopover before our flight back to the US.

The service was impressive to say the least. The rooms were very modern but very small but I believe this is normal for Tokyo. The continental breakfast was limited. However the Sky restaurant was amazing. There were many food options available and the view of Tokyo from the restaurant was amazing. I highly recommend anyone to stay here. We definitely will for a longer time next time we visit Japan.

This is easily the best hotel I have ever stayed by far. The staff made sure you feel special and appreciated. The time for check in and check out was 2pm and 12 pm respectively, which was generous. The executive lounge was very comfortable. Breakfast is also included for other restaurants. Satsuki was a great breakfast option. The Japanese garden was beautiful. Spa access was also included. I would definitely go back to House Zen when I go to Tokyo again.

The New Otani Tokyo Zen House is truly a great experience. They just received their 5th star and they clearly earned it. The check-in is so personal and the lounge is just perfect. Fine wine and sake, beautiful tea, and great snacks all day long, not just at breakfast and happy hour. The rooms look great and the bathrooms are quite spacious.

Excellent rooms, but then they should be for the price. More than 4 times the price of similar sized rooms at Shinjuku washington. However, where this hotel falls down is with its restaurants. There are several on site, but almost all serve the same mediocre menu, and almost all are only open until 2pm for lunch and 9pm for dinner. So if you're staying here for work don't expect to eat at the hotel after a long day. Not that the food is worth eating anyway. Really a 5 star hotel like this should have much better restaurants.

Stayed on the Zen tower club lounge floor. Nice big rooms, good food, clean and responsive staffs. The daily room charge included 3 meals and 3 snacks at the club lounge. Food was good but would have been nice to change it up and offer more varieties. Staff was courteous but I find it intimidating and uncomfortable to have a team of 6-8 staffs standing at the entry to the lounge greeting you as you walked in. They should have a back office to congregate and only 2-3 staffs as greeters. I was then surprised to find the same crew who were courteous during my 4-nts stay, to have their backs to me and did not even turn around to say goodbye. I was disappointed because earlier that day, I saw a Japanese couple leaving and everyone was lined up thanking and bowing to show the Japanese hospitality. I just felt like the courtesy wasn’t genuine to begin with.

The Staff here was so polite, friendly and helpful. I never felt so valued as a customer - ever. Somehow we got the Executive checkin, which was amazing. You have an exclusive lounge on the 11th floor where you do check in and check out (they seat you at a table and process everything while you sip on champagne, tea, coffee, snacks, etc.) They also have several snack/tea times per day with quality food. We stayed before & after a cruise. The Deluxe Room was a good size, the Standard room was smallish, but I think typical for Tokyo. Both rooms were super quiet even though it was busy. The garden and waterfall are beautiful. The 2 restaurants we went to for dinner were shockingly expensive, so check pricing carefully. We bought breakfast with the room and it was well worth it. Choose the main lobby (Satsuki) as their selection seemed better than the other two breakfast buffets you get to choose from. But all three are good. Shower pressure and temp were outstanding. It is close to a few subway stations (5-10 minute walk). Same for a long block of restaurants and the hotel itself has a ridiculous amount of restaurants (again watch the prices). But the service from the staff blew me away. They did everything possible to make us comfortable and ease our travel.

The club lounge was lovely to visit before or after a day out. Impeccable service. The deluxe room was spacious, the bed so comfortable and huge! The room had all the accompaniments of a 5 star hotel. Location was perfect. Great district with great restaurants around the corner, not too busy but very lively and very easy to get to train lines.

I stayed in New Otani both garden and main tower several times before but never had an opportunity to stay in the executive house zen. They assigned two floors of the main building (I think it was 11 & 12 FL but I don't remember correctly) for the executive zen and they have their own front desk, lounge, and club house exclusively available to the zen quests. You can have meal and drinks unlimited during their business hour at the lounge and it's really a good deal when you think about how much you spend for just drinks at any bars in Tokyo. Also I really liked their breakfast selection and drinks and also it's such a good deal as you would spend $30-$40 per person if you had an in room dining breakfast.

I also loved my room so much and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. One thing I really liked about the room was that they had this smart phone that I could use freely during my stay so I could make free phone calls and use data service, and didn't have to get frustrated with my T-Mobile data service which were so slow or didn't work at all in Japan.

Overall, it was such a great experience and such a good deal which was about $400 per night. I'd definitely love to go back when I visit Tokyo next time and highly recommend anyone who's planning to visit Tokyo. Please note that the rooms in garden tower are not renovated and are very very old and also services are not good. Main tower rooms are ok but it's no comparison to the executive ho

Wow, what a treat it was to stay at this hotel. Everything was excellent. The staff members were extremely courteous, and helpful. Also, our room was meticulously clean, and very comfortable. This hotel offers executive lounge, where they serve food and drink such as lunch, afternoon tea, and late night drink & chocolate. You can enjoy relaxing there admiring the view of Tokyo and Mt. Our third stay here. One of my favorite hotels for comfort, service,amenities and design. The rooms are lovely and the views are terrific. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They go out of their way to provide assistance and suggestion. The breakfasts are very good and the array of restaurants in the hotel makes choosing a place to eat difficult. The Executive Lounge is an excellent perk with tea,cocktails and snacks served daily. If Tokyo wasn’t beckoning with all it offers, one would never have to leave the hotel.
My hotel of choice in Tokyo. Actually returning there next week.

It was awesome in every way. I loved my stay and would definitely go back.

My only constructive criticisms would be that there was a tablet next to the bed that would come on sometimes while I was sleeping and wake me up. I didn’t try hard to learn to turn it off or ask for help.

Another criticism would be that I put the “do not disturb sign” on my door for the entire time and housekeeping called me despite the sign and woke me up to see if I wanted service however my sign clearly said “did not disturb” so that was disappointing service wise.

The place is big so if you are looking for the convenience store or post office you might get lost but the staff is more than happy to help you in any way.

This hotel is one of the best I had ever stayed ! You can’t ask for more! They think of your every comfort! From the biggest and softest bathrobes and bath towels, bathroom amenities, whitiest and clean smelling bedsheets and pillowcases which they change everyday, and the daily pair of pajama and robe that they provide, you don’t need anything else ! This hotel caters to your every needs. You have the choice to eat in any of its four restaurants that offers great variety of foods to choose from! You could also shop from
it’s arcade if you have a mind to, and there’s a lot of beautiful things to buy, for yourself or for a souvenir and as a gift. They have also a delicious pastry shop which I had frequented because of its great tasting bread! This hotel is also one of the main stops of the tourist tours which is very convenient if you want to explore many of its beautiful places. It has also its amazing zen garden with an artificial fall that is worth exploexploring. I love this hotel and would recommend it to anybody in a heartbeat. This hotel represents Japan at its best : Integrity, hospitality, beauty and cleanliness! Kudos to its management and staff!

Good hotel, with extensive facilities. Only drawback is that the facilities close down early (last orders at restaurants around 9pm and bars at 10pm) which is I'm told usual in Tokyo now (this city definitely sleeps). Good service and the Executive Zen facilities are pleasant and rooms well appointed. There is also a lovely little Chinese garden on the roof between the main building and the garden towers. Breakfast in the main lobby was good, the breakfast in the Executive Zen lobby was spartan but OK.

We returned to New Otani this year because we enjoyed our previous stay there. Stayed in Executive Zen category which is terrific. Beautiful room, outstanding service and wonderful lounge. Hotel is very large with rich selection of restaurants and beautiful garden. Location is fairly central to all of Tokyo and easy access to metro. Kudos to staff for their helpfulness and the calm and pleasant atmosphere they exemplify.

We stayed here for a 10th anniversary and were beyond impressed with all the special little touches the Executive House provided-- private check-in, happy hour with top quality drinks and views, pajamas to sleep in, bath oils for taking a relaxing bath. Wonderful Hotel

New Otani was one of the best hotel stays I have had in Japan. It had a unique charm because it was not a high-rise but more spread out into different buildings with numerous shops and restaurants. I could not see it from the street until I got up close, but inside it looked elegant and well-kept. Not one of you newer fancier hotels, but had an old-style Japanese feel with a lovely garden in the back. I felt like I was staying in Japan, not like other hotels where I felt like it was just like the rest.

I stayed on the 11th floor of the Executive House Zen and the customer service has to be the best of any hotel I have stayed. The lounge was fabulous with cocktails served from 5:30-8pm and a lovely view of the Christmas lights outside. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is willing to spend a little bit more for great service.

Before the stay, we had high expectation of Omani Executive house zen, because it is known as one of the best hotels in Tokyo. After our stay, I believe it is the best of best hotels. I would shorten my review by save words for my compliment of the beautiful facility, please check out my photos below. Just the beautiful garden itself, it is already worth the price we paid. I believe what make new Otani executive house Zen stands out is the service team at the 11th floor. They truly make me felt like they know us as friend; they remember our trip plan like our assistant, and they care about us like our family. Two weeks before my trip, I contacted the team to arrange my dinner plan. They not only helped me to arrange the dinner and kindly reminded me on the same day. They arranged transportation for me and even kindly wrote some note cards to carry to the restaurant just in case if I have language barrier. On the 2nd day of the stay, my wife got sick and throws up at their executive waiting area. The team didn't make us feel a bit uncomfortable, and 3 high level managers even show up at our door to offer their care and help. I can't thank them more.

Tokyo dreaming

My sister and I travelled to Tokyo and stayed at New Otani Hotel. Exquisite service, staff and facilities. Central location to whatever we wanted to do by train. Room however quite stuffy in heat. Food magnificent. Gardens just Devine.

Best hotel in Tokyo!

The staff at Executive Zen level was terrific - helpful, professional,charming. They went out of their way to provide ideas for out of the Wyatt walks, food, etc. Room was wonderful, spacious, comfortable.

Always been a grand Hotel experience!

Having been here since mid-70s to early 80s, New Otani remains to be the consistent grand luxury hotel that it is. If you like huge hotel facilities (3 buildings), then this is where the action is. If you prefer privacy and less crowds, this is not the hotel for you. Walking distance to Subway, lot of shops, and great restaurants.
