We have stayed here 5 years in a row for an annual event, and after this year I won’t go back. We rented three rooms and all three were not the same quality for more money. We were told when I booked them that the pool and sauna were open.when we arrived the pool area had been closed for months, and no one alerted us, so we could change Hotels.they said they had continental breakfast form 7-9, when we arrived at 8:40, they had already shut down. One of our rooms looked as they had not cleaned the bathroom, hair everywhere, broken shower doors, our Tv did not work, and heater and fridge were very load in two of the rooms. When were spoke with the front desk, new were told that they are getting bought out by a new company. (and couldn’t do anything for us).don’t stay here if you have a family, and expect to use all there amenities listed on orbitz.

You advertised there was a pool , when i get there im told the pool is shut down . I would have never booked this place if i knew that. Thats false advertising. There should be some sort of refund for not providing what you advertised. Also the breakfast was horrible. I saw a gallon of milk sitting on the counter not refrigerated. A few bagles and warm yogurt. Everything else was empty. I will not be coming back here .only positive thing i can say is staff is super friendly.

Staff was very friendly hotel was very clean. We booked this hotel due to location and pool. When we arrived we were told the pool is out of order indefinitely. The breakfast was a joke. No hot food at all. The yogurt was in a dish on the counter with nothing to keep it cold. Mils for cereal also out on counter not cold. (Gross)

The room was quite nice, but people need to be aware that the rooms with the jacuzzi don’t allow dogs. The staff at the front desk were so helpful in this regard. On Sundays they have the waffle iron out so you can make waffles. What else? Oh the location is really good! Also, there are train tracks behind the hotel as well, but the rooms are insulated really well, so you can’t hear the traffic.

I never booked. I just wasted money because these hotels in Detroit and the surrounding areas want a very huge deposit and will ask for it as the last demand during the transaction. It’s never advertised and anytime i give a deposit in Detroit they hold it for 30 days. I just lost money on both of the bookings.

Staff was great. Excellent value for a quick overnight trip. Room was in pretty good condition and didn't have any funky smells (I give credit to the hard surface flooring instead of carpet). Area is a little rough but that's not the hotel's fault. Only heard the freight train once right outside the window. I wish the breakfast was a little more than sugary cereal, lukewarm milk, and some toast but I appreciate that it was available. Overall I'd say the property is good if you're passing through, but not as your destination.

The place was dirty- the halls were filthy like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, the beds were uncomfortable, the settings on the tub didn’t work- handful of settings and only the on and off ones worked, the handles were leaking out of the bottom, hair in the tub when we arrived so not properly cleaned, the heater only worked on one side and that side was overly hot.

Great rate. Get what you pay for. Hotel right next to railroad track and the highway. Breakfast was very disappointing with few options mostly gone when we went. The garbages were overflowing. Smells of smoke when you first enter the lobby. There were two different sized towels in the room. I called for additional towels and they never arrived until I called again in the morning. I did receive a text stating the towels were in the dryer and it might be a while. The tv power and volume on the remote didn’t work, had to figure out how to manually change the volume.

It’s a good value. Clean and the staff is nice. The only thing I can’t stand is the room doors, at least on the third floor, aren’t the right size for their frames. Why is this an issue? When you’re trying to sleep, the bright light from the hallway seeps into the room. We put the couch pillows in front of the crack to block it out. Also, it would be nice if they had blackout curtains.

Other than those cosmetic things, the rooms
are comfortable and the location is convenient if you’re heading downtown for concerts or sporting events.

Looked like this hotel had recently been updated. I was in the area to attend the Cubs v Tigers baseball game. I was about 10 miles from the stadium, which was easily less than 20 minutes to get there, so perfect for me.

Plentiful free parking. Area was nice enough, grocery store, gas station nearby. Also, only about 30 minutes to the airport.

I would recommend and would stay again.

I planned this latest stay based on my last stay and if I did that going forward I would never return very disappointed overall
I was supposed to have a handicap room but apparently did not when it was on the reservation and it was talked about when I checked in. I assumed it was and just put up with what I was given was it there for very long just overnight that was long enough
There was no breakfast just some dry cereal and some fruit cups. And I will wrap this up by saying everything on the bed really smelled bad like dirty clothes and there was a big ant Beetle looking bug in the bathroom definitely wasn't my experience the first stay

Middle of the night OOPS!

I was there for a Dr. Appt. My daughter is blind, she was in her own adjoining room. I left my side of the door propped open in case i was needed. She needed to use the bathroom during the night & got turned around & ended up in my room. Her side of the door automatically shut. There she is stuck in my room without access back into her room. Prior to bed, i showed her the door lock & safety latch. At 2 a.m. im wondering how to get her back to her room knowing I'd locked her up tight. Fortunately the night staff was very helpful in opening up her door for us so she can return to her room.

This hotel located next to the high way with low other stores near. Hotel do not offer housekeeping even you ask for. Room equipment broken and no bother to fixed or offer room exchange when you asked. The room has extremely strong cleaning detergent small.

I personally won't stary there again. Train goes right by your room window. Had to ask for coffee and food for breakfast at 7am. Our friend's room had a centipede in their tub. No hair dryer or coffee cups in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room had an upgraded shower, unlike our friend's room. Rooms are small and upgrades are done cheap and poorly done. There are better hotels in the area. Choosing a different one next time.

For a better rating, staff needs to show better attention to detail, e.g., shampoo and shower gel dispensers were empty; lots of litter outside the window; subpar breakfast choices. Easy things to remedy. Otherwise, the room was fine. The train blowing its horn outside the window at 3 AM is out of their control but is nonetheless sure to wake up all guests.

First and foremost we booked this hotel with the hopes of taking my two year old swimming as he loves the water and was stuck at ford field for 10 hours to watch his brother wrestle pool was in construction or something. The man working the front desk was kinda rude and very unapproachable. And then the next day after check in my husband gets stuck in the elevator with another man and had to pry the doors open even though they were pushing the emergency call button and alarm button over and over with no one coming to help. When my husband went to inform the man at the front desk his response was “yeah maintenance is working on it” what kind of professional person would respond in that way and not even apologize for the inconvenience or make sure everyone was okay and got out safe with no injury. Needless to say I will NOT ever stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it in anyway

Decent hotel for the area and money

The front desk staff were very nice however the room wasn't as clean as it usually is. The floor was a little dirty, the towels had some other torn red fabric stuck to them, and the room didn't have any facial tissue. Unfortunately there was also a bunch of groups that were also there that night that were loud, like stomping around in their room, running down the hallway, and talking/laughing outside the rooms. The staff dealt with them several times but it just resulted in not as much sleep as we had hoped. But the staff were nice otherwise and the breakfast was decent. We didn't get a chance to check out any other parts of the hotel as we were in late and out early, so we were just looking for a good night's sleep.

Definitely don’t go for the breakfast buffet, you’ll be extremely disappointed. Staff was more concerned with texting on their phone than checking me in. Gave me no information about anything really. Barely let me know where the elevator was. Not that I wouldn’t be able to find it, the place is not large, but as a courtesy elevator, room number, and time for breakfast should’ve been included in the checkin process. There was a train track about 50 feet outside our room and a train did go by around 11-11:30 at night. There was also a birthday celebration where the party goers were up and down the halls from ~11-12:30 at night. I felt like I was a part of their party group, there is absolutely no sound barrier….anywhere! The bathroom lights were motion censor. If you were in the too long, you’d end up in the dark. Kind of inconvenient when we had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The saving grace was the incredibly comfortable beds. Other than that, it was pretty meh.

Several friends were in Detroit for the Lions game and needed a place to stay. The Leo was reasonably priced and close to the hotel. Overall, the hotel was clean and serviced its purpose just fine. It is near the highway and was close to Ford Field (maybe a 10 minute drive). What most stuck out from this visit was the manager, Paula. I probably wouldn't have left a review if not for her; she made so many efforts to make sure we had a great trip and was kind, humorous, and very much an excellent representative of the city. Thank you, Paula! You will be remembered as a big part of our trip. The only thing better would have been if the Lions won. : (

THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD, THE ATTENDANT "PREANA" WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL LOUD & OBNOXIOUS
NOT TO MENTION SHE IS A LIAR! I ONLY INFORM HER THAT I AM ALLERGIC TO DOGS . AS I WAS HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION WITH AN ITCHY THROAT SHE PRECEDED TO MAKE SNARRY REMARKS ABOUT NOT REFUNDING WHILE LAUGHING. I TOLD HER TO STOP TALKING TO ME, SHE JUST IGNORE THE HEALTH RISK ! I checked in early on Tuesday morning which the clerk informed me there would be no issues my check out time was for Wednesday morning at 10am . Well I had several knocks on the door waking me up then the front desk called me down saying I would have to pay an additional $60 for my stay or I would have to leave . Upon check in, the front desk clerk was not hospitable what so ever. I'm not sure if he was dealing with something personally, but I got the impression he didn't want to be there. The lighting in our room was very poor. There was only one small lamp in the room. The electrical sockets in the wall nears our headboards weren't working correctly. The bar soap they have in the bath rooms, are literally the size of a casino chip. I didn't get a text from the hotel informing us that the pool was out of order, until after we checked in. My wife and I stayed at this property a couple years ago shortly after it became the Leo. The f\first experience was great. Coming back years later, I must say thing definitely have declined since.

The hotel was pretty good. We started for 2 nights. The floors in our room were extremely uneven and creaked whenever you walked around, so we heard every footstep whenever any of us got out of bed. Overall, the hotel was decently clean but seemed like it was aging and they added a facade to make it look nice. We enjoyed our stay but likely won't be going out of our way to stay here again.
