The air conditioning/heating unit was filthy and smelled horrid. Under the bed there was so much dirt, dust and debris like it hadn’t been cleaned under in years. The drawers were dirty. The refrigerator had cheese left in it. The floor was so dirty that my socks turned yellow/brown on the bottom. There were earrings on the shelf of one night stand and rings on the other. There was a floss pick in the bed. There was a brown spot on the rug that the bed sat on that looked like either vomit or diarrhea. The plug on strip on the night stand was hanging on by a thread and sparks shot out of it when I tried to plug my phone charger in. The staff were very kind and friendly though.

Definitely welcoming to pets no problem. There staff was fine. Parking was fine. The room had a funky smell and felt like it needed to be deep cleaned. The tub was rusty. Absolutely could not use that for bathing.

This hotel was horrible, i stayed here years ago and it was very clean.Now.. upon entering and setting my bags down , I encountered a few small roaches , I tell the front desk about it and they didn't do anything. There were crumbs on the bed.The top sheets were not changed nor clean.The mirrors were filthy.It was just an awful experience.Overall , I would never stay here again

No AC working: no toilet paper in bathroom, room had broken drawers, tv was hard to use; front desk didnt ask me janitor , could go in my room to check tv:; i had left to dinner, staff , vold not friendly; the seating was gross and black; mattresses were over 25 years old broken & warn out; room smelled gross like dog; their was a man next roo. With dog. Humidity, in room bad, i was too n exhausted to get out my room i paid 80 for extra day. The 2 previous days i paid150.00( not worth 30.00 stay.) Motel 6 is better and more worth it. I have in my previous stays i stay i red roof in different states and michigan and this was the worst i give -1 star only sheets were clean sheets.

Check in staff was great, the afternoon staff around 4:30-5 pm seemed to have an attitude when I asked for some soap. There wasn't any soap or toothpaste in the room. There were stains on the ceiling in the corner of the room that looked like a big stains on the bathroom wall. Mirror was dirty, overhang outside the rooms look like it was rusted and ready to crumble at any time. Crumbs and other debris under the bed which clearly shows they didn't vacuum/sweep under the bed

I didn’t see and roaches like people said but the room was definitely dirty and rushed clean mold on the ceiling with a piece of tissue in a hole the shower curtain had not been washed in ages the location was horrible it was almost like people lived there It did feel like something was crawling on me all night I was suppose to stay two days I checked out early and had to put a 50$ deposit when I got there as off the rooms was to tier lol I will not stay there again

The room was disgusting and therr was feces on the toilet and when I told the office she handed me a few wipes and I cleaned it up myself. There were no toiletries or any towels except for the bath mat and 2 dingy bath towels. The top drawer was missing on the dresser and the door didn't lock and was missing the top piece for the lock.

The room we were given had been "cleaned". We had to request both beds have the sheets changed, there was a dirty hand towel left in the bathroom, rubbish and a sock left in the draws which were broken. Both the mattresses and blankets were stained. Once the sheets were changed it was absolute bare minimum standards to make the room habitable and the replacement sheets were wrinkled and did not appear to have been professionally laundered, there was only one clean mattress protector available. Had we not arrived late at night and we're leaving early the next day I would have requested a refund and found somewhere else to stay. Significant repairs and furniture replacement needs to occur and retraining of cleaning staff. I have stayed in similar cost hotels elsewhere in the US and while they are generally a little tired feeling they are clean and tidy in comparison.

The room was clean and the surrounding area was good. Very convenient to stores restaurants and coffee shops and gas stations. Planet fitness is just a 5-minute walk. I would stay here again. I was actually surprised because I read some negative reviews but all in all it was good.

1. The first room I checked into smelled so bad of cigarettes I could hardly breathe; I requested to change rooms
2. The room I was in didn’t smell much better and they didn’t bother filling up the shampoo and soap dispensers so I couldn’t shower the first day, when I asked the front desk if they had these things the lady said no
3. THE PLACE HAS BED BUGS. I WOKE UP WITH BITES ALL OVER AND FOUND A BED BUG IN MY BAG AFTER SLEEPING THERE THE SECOND DAY
4. The blanket has a yellow stain on the bed sheet
5. Every night I was there I was woken up at 3am or 4am to loud screaming, banging, and walking back and forth in front of my door.

This hotel is going to be upgraded apparently soon. When he got to the room, the curtain end was hanging, no hangers, drawers were missing, the hair dryer was coming out the wall, there was no shampoo or conditioner in the holders on the wall, the pillows were small and flat, we couldn't get the TV on.
We did arrive before 5 pm, so maintenance came: curtains fixed, TV fixed, hangers appeared, hair dryer was placed on the counter. The front desk got us Irish Spring 5 in One sample bottle. So many issues were addressed.
The room was clean, no bugs, we didn't use the microwave or refrigerator. For $63 a night, this seemed we got a bit better than we paid for.

Terrible. Dresser under the TV was missing 2 drawers, mold in the shower, one hangar, light above the sink didn't work (flickering fluorescent). When I brought the issues to the attention of the front desk I was told there was a "maintenance backorder". I wanted to be sure I wasn't charged for things like missing drawers or hangars. No offer to change rooms either. Hotel site says daily housekeeping. Nope! At least my room and car were not broken into, but someone was walking up and down the hall knocking on doors at 5:30 AM. Spend a few dollars more for peace of mind and a clean, complete room!

The tv did not work. The sound kept going out. There was some type of bug found crawling in the bathroom when we came back from getting dinner. The light above the bathroom sink went out. We had to keep flicking the switch up and down to get it to turn on. There were stains on the blankets of one of the beds. Cigarette buds and trash were out in the hallway and all over the stairs. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and will never return.

This was not like other Red roofs that I have been too it need to be fixed up it was dirty, no house keeping it seemed. And hard to get things like extra pillows or towels. The key cards twice did not work and they kept telling guests to keep it away from there cellphones well we did and they still deactivated on us twice. Would I stay at this Red roof again No.

I was disappointed as the Red Roof standard didn’t seem up to par. I was told that this venue was scheduled for renovation soon. It sorely needs it. The light over the bathroom mirror didn’t work, one light above the bed didn’t work, the safe didn’t work the mattress had bad springs on one side & there were no drawers for clothing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They get an A+. The room a D+. A very disappointing stay.

It was so terrible, the room was in complete bad shape, I was afraid to sleep in bed without clothes on. The drawers were missing shelves/some shelves were broken, I got locked out of room after concert (reason for my trip) because the lock to room broke and had to wait for repair person. The next day the staff was upset that I even mentioned being compensated for inconvenience. They were so unprofessional and messy!

Do NOT recommend. The room was dirty hair everywhere looked like dog hair but god only knows…used my own bedding. The tv didn’t work with any of the reset tips they said. Was gross and used a flop hotel - check out morning was acosted by a pimp finally had to get him away by threatening with my non existent boyfriend sitting in the back of the car not so visibly. Avoid - Looked Like a Crime Scene

I’ve stayed in some questionable holes-in-the-wall over the years, but nothing prepared me for the absolute horror show that is the Red Roof Inn on Michigan Avenue in Detroit. For $70 a night, I expected a bare-bones room. What I got instead was an assault on all five senses—and an immediate refund request. Here’s the blow-by-blow:

Smell: A Four-Alarm Disaster
Moldy funk so powerful it could knock a grown adult off their feet.

Urine odor wafting through the hallway (and yes, seeping under my door).

Stale vomit stench in the corners, suggesting previous guests had more than a rough night—they left their mess behind.

Marijuana haze heavy enough that I suspected it was baked into the carpet.

Sight: Curtains, Carpet & Furniture Nightmares
Curtains sporting a massive, dark stain—possibly years old.

Carpet riddled with mysterious blotches that I refused to step on barefoot.

Dresser: one drawer completely missing, two more hanging off the tracks and filled with old fast-food wrappers and who-knows-what.

Touch: Bugs & Broken Plumbing
Bathroom: small crawling insects I chased off the walls.

Broken plunger propped beside the toilet, more for show than function. (Good luck if you actually need it.)

Taste: (Thank God, None)
Even the bedding smelled so foul that I couldn’t imagine risking a bite of breakfast while in that room. Note: the nearby Holiday Inn across the street served a surprisingly decent free breakfast—and I would have eaten it there if I hadn’t dashed over as soo

The room was FILTHY! The tub had long hair in it and it was wet like it had been used and before we got there. Only 1 outlet worked and the bedding and floors were disgusting. We were from out of state and disturbed by not only the noise but by the weed smell. NEVER EVER AGAIN Will stay at a Red Roof. They used to be decent hotels to stay in for a quick turn around trip but I would’ve rather slept in my car.
