We stayed in the junior suite, staff were brilliant, very friendly also the staff in the cafe below. Breakfast to the room was great, our room was amazing with hot tub. Location also fabulous. Thank you Carten staff.

This is not a hotel in any sense of the word. The description on Hotels.com was not true. We are long time customers of Hotels.com and trust in your ability to ensure the information provided in the 'overview' is accurate. We have traveled a lot in Europe and this was the worst experience we have ever had.

Our stay began with us not being able to find the entrance. You had to enter a gate and then walk through a courtyard that can only be described as \"gritty' and take an elevator to the 2nd floor - walk up 8 very steep steps to a room with a desk (which doubles as the bar). No signage directing you until the 2nd floor.

The key needed to get in and out of the gate to the street was very difficult to use and it took us 15 minutes to figure out how to get out of the gate. Thankfully, when we came back from dinner the gate was open.

The only positive thing I can say is that the woman at the front desk was very friendly.

I had a wonderful stay at The Carten in Naples, its hidden little place just steps away from the port. The views of the city and the castle was absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. The room itself was a perfect blend of comfort and luxury — from the jetted tub and waterfall shower with an added oversized rain shower head to the incredibly comfortable bed that made it hard to leave in the morning. However, what truly made the experience special was the gracious host, who went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and even served me the best cappuccino I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Naples!

This is not a hotel and as said in previous comments are “luxury” apartments. Photos were deceiving. Place was hard to find in a very old building. Room was clean and spacious though. Did not like the style of the bathrooms.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Carten in Naples. There was no lobby, and I had to pick up the keys at a nearby gelato shop, which felt very unprofessional. The property had no elevator, so I had to carry all my luggage up several flights of stairs. The room had no view, which was misleading compared to the profile pictures. They made it seem like a hotel, but it turned out to be just an apartment setup, with none of the amenities or services I expected. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

Not a Hotel but Luxury rooms

These are Luxury rooms.

Entrance is a big downside, and then access to 2nd floor.

Once you are on 2nd floor, then you feel better.

The room was good and clean. But thunderstorm in the night brought up some of its deficiencies, like rain water came inside and its traditional green windows were making noise, i could not sleep well.

The receptionist and owner were great, i must say.

So in Summary, it is not hotel but luxury rooms only. It has good access to main landmarks, and big applause for the receptionist she is great.

First from check in you can’t find the place there a small Sognefjord amid other signs so had to call twice. Lady come down then took us across the road to accomodation
On the first floor so very noisy . Place is dirty and the bed is terrible it’s bowed on the middle so you head and legs are higher then your body .there’s a big jacuzzi which we didn’t want need or use which wasn’t in any descriptions Breakfast delivered every morning is cold and salty but better then nothing
Give this place a miss from my experience well at least the room on first floor

The room was lovely with a briliant view, i didnt like the fact that there wasnt much of an entrance to the hotel, could have done with a more visable sign at the front of the building. However the staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was great!

The rooms look nothing like the pictures at all. Please do not book here!!! It was false advertisement all the way around. I'm thinking they photoshopped these pictures. No room has a view of the castle, the bed and couch was hard and also had stains on it. Don't waste your money!!!

Room was a cool idea, but poorly executed. Lots of mold in the shower/steam room and along the edges near it in the room. Check in was a hassle communicating with the front desk employees via whats app or text. Provided breakfast was store bought and coffee machine made. Not terrible, but not the best.

The only good thing about this property was the location. To begin with there is no proper “reception”. When we arrived at 8pm to check in, we were sent a message to go to a nearby restaurant to check in and when we did go to restaurant half the staff didn’t know what we were asking about and only one man knew what we meant by needing to check in but he was so busy doing his actual job which was to serve customers at the restaurant that we had to wait for him to get some free time. They took our breakfast order and confirmed timing etc but completely forgot to bring it to us in the morning and when we asked about it, they said someone had forgotten to write it down! Very very strange stay.

Worth every penny

Our check-in process was very easy and smooth, they only have 3 or 4 rooms so they were ready and waiting for our arrival. They were so helpful with telling us about the area and how to get around, the places to explore and recommendations. The room was very beautiful with the view of Castel Nuovo and THAT BATHTUB! I think I spent two hours in there. Worth every penny to soak our feet after a lengthy Europe tour!

Nice having \"sauna\" in the room.
King room is separated from Queen room by an internal door, so you can hear everything from the other room. Absolutely not pleasant... Huge lack of privacy and lack of sleep...
Moreover the room stays too humid all night.
The shower kept leaking all night. It was extremely inconvenient.
Breakfast is poor. Not worth it at all.
The bed is not firm, so it tends to swallow the body during the night which is very inconfortable.
Pillow smells of sweat of other people. Also inconvenient...

Great Stay!

Carten is walking distance to the marina, the castle and the main shopping district which made it a great place to stay for a quick stop in Naples. Francesca was very friendly and provided us with lots of local information and tips. The hotel is a little hard to find as the rooms are located within a complex of other housing and buisnesses. It’s located on the third floor but they do have an elevator if you have luggage. Overall very clean and spacious rooms, I would stay again if visiting

Given this hotel is very small (only 3 rooms) we were greeted with a very friendly welcome with top quality service. For example, we had a very early departure at 4am and a beautiful little breakfast had been organised despite this time. The rooms were an excellent size, with the bathroom being exceptional. No wonder they will soon be expanding. Would definitely stay here again. The only slight negative was the neighbourhood not being the nicest setting. Thank you again!

Wonderful large rooms with modern bathroom and sauna tub. This boutique hotel is within walking distance to ferry terminal. The attentive and lovely staff helped with everything we needed as well as prepared a great breakfast. Will stay here again next time we're in Naples.

Pleasant experience!

Great little gem in Naples! So close to good pizza shops and restaurants. It took a while to find the hotel, perhaps a larger sign would assist in future travellers finding the place. We were greeted by friendly staff and were extremely happy with the accommodation. Definitely a pleasant surprise and a good nights rest!

From the outside this place doesn’t look like much as it’s in a big complex. Once you’re inside it’s a totally different story. The bathtub was huge never seen one that bug in Europe before. The bed was awesome and comfy they give you their Netflix login so you can watch on a big tv was very good. The doors all were very tough to unlock and lock we went through 3 sets of keys before we finally were given the right set good thing we checked or we would have been locked out all night and missed our tour. Would check your keys before you leave was a minor flaw. Everything else was amazing would stay again our room had a great castle view.

Exceptional! The apartment was beautiful. Comfortable mattress. Upscale decor. Fantastic view of the castle and ocean and an interesting view of a busy part of old town. As noisy as it should have been the sound proof window's provided peaceful quiet inside. Met 2 of the reception staff and they were both so very friendly and accommodating. Gave great tips on things to see, places to eat, and treats not to miss. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone we can and anyone visiting naples. Perfect location.

Cancelled our reservation without notice

This was our last stop on our Italy trip, and I was expecting a nice hotel to stay at to relax and prep for our 17 hr travel day back home. We arrived at the hotel and they told us our reservation was cancelled by a disgruntled ex-employee. They rebooked us into a sketchy hotel in an even sketchier area. They told us it was near the train station and that it was going to be a \"4 person\" room - so the largest available. The new place was horrible, my boyfriend and I tried to put up with it but had to rebook a different hotel for our second night.

There was miscommunication between me and Cartens. I asked if my hotel nights were going to be refunded, and from what I understood it would be, and out of good faith on their end they would pay for the new (sketchy) hotel and 50 euros for the new hotel I had to rebook myself. In the end, I did not get my refund for the original stay - I lost out the money I paid for Cartens (which had to be more than the new hotel they booked me into) and I had to pay $80 euros (reimbursed 50euros) for the new place. They didn't even arrange transport to the new hotel, only gave us money to take the subway there ourselves. I understand the cancellation was not their fault, and the girl at the front desk was very apologetic, but I'm just extremely upset at: the miscommunication, the horrible first night in Naples, and paying more money out of pocket for the whole stay.

A real discovery!

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Carten and absolutely loved it. We really hadn't expected to see a metal gate onto a very domestic looking courtyard with a name plate and a button to press for announcing our arrival. However when Manuella, a charming young lady with beautiful english, answered the intercom our stay turned out to be outstanding. After being escorted up to the second floor we were met with a high spec modern boutique 'hotel' of just 3 rooms. We were royally looked after from that welcome coffee to the moment we left 3 days later. Breakfasts were prepared just for us (mostly by 'Napi') and we had to say 'stop' on two mornings as we were already full. Afternoon tea appeared as soon as we came back from a hard days sightseeing. We were given full tourist guidance and an umbrella just in case. The staff were excellent throughout. The room was one of the most comfortable we have ever had with a super bed and a jetted bath tub complete with rain shower, waterfall, and mood lighting. All this in a stylish modern room with full facilities including an impressive 'smart' TV.
Naples is a fascinating city but is generally a little tired and worn. The Carten brightened our days and was a real find.

L’esperienza è stata piacevole. L’hotel gode di un ottima pozione rispetto al centro ed è collegato benissimo con la metro alla stazione centrale. Strategico per potersi rinfrescare tra le attività della mattina e del pomeriggio. Stanza in buone condizioni e pulizia anche di un buon livello. B&B in posizione eccellente: 200 m dalla fermata municipio, 500 m dai quartieri spagnoli e a 5 passi dal molo. Non possiede un parcheggio proprio ma nei dintorni ci sono almeno 4/5 garage a pagamento. Se volete avventurarvi nella ricerca di un parcheggio per strada intorno ce ne sono diversi.
Siamo stati accolti da una ragazza molto gentile e simpatica alla reception.
La camera che abbiamo prenotato si trova in un altro edificio rispetto al Carten.
La stanza è in realtà un mini appartamento: all'ingresso si trova l'angolo caffè con macchina con cialde, bollitore d'acqua, the e tutto il necessario per prepararsi un caffè. Ci sono sgabelli su cui accomodarsi per gustare la colazione che vi serviranno in camera.
Poi un piccolo bagno (la porta non si chiude a chiave), un bel letto comodo, vasca idromassaggio comodissima e bagno turco.
Va un po' migliorata la pulizia del bagno e sistemati dei particolari della stanza (tipo il paralume della lampada e il rivestimento del letto).
Come detto all'inizio la stanza è dislocata in un altro edificio quindi la colazione verrà servita in camera all'orario che concorderete con la receptionist.

Jättetrevligt mottagande av kunnig personal. Visades runt i rummet och fick svar på det frågor vi hade om omgivningarna. God frukost levererat till rummet. Lagom balkong med utsikt över lilla torget och castel nouvo. Bra läge, gångavstånd till det mesta och tunnelbana och bussar precis utanför. Här bor vi gärna igen.

Non si tratta di un hotel: la struttura è composta da tante stanze/appartamenti distribuiti in differenti zone.
La colazione, non sempre rispondente alla richiesta, viene servita in camera perchè non è presenta una sala colazioni.
Unica cosa interessante di questa struttura è la centralità: proprio vicino a via Toledo e i Quartieri Spagnoli.
Ogni giorno viene chiesto se si vogliono le pulizie della stanza: non sono riuscito a capirne il motivo. In un hotel in genere le pulizie vengono fatte a prescindere.

Ottima posizione per chi vuole visitare Napoli! Personale accogliente, colazione servita in camera. Camera pulita e ben servita.
Posso solo consigliare alla proprietà di cambiare il condizionatore, e migliorare la vasca idromassaggio perché esce pochissima acqua. Per il resto tutto ok!

Ok men ikke en anden gang

Beliggenhed ok, men du kan ikke være sikker på præcist hvad adressen bliver da de har værelser på forskellige adresser. Lidt underlig indtjekning, da det foregår inde i en bagopgang. Vi faldt for der var spa og sauna, og det var også dejligt. Men vi vil ik booke det igen og det skyldes larmen. Det første værelse vi fok var der så lydt at vi kunne høre naboen snakke, høre deres TV og høre når de føntørrede hår. Vores toværelses var kun adskildt af en alm dør og det var bare ik godt nok. Receptionen tilbød vi kunne få et andet værelse og det takkede vi ja til. Her i det nye værelse var der ik en wifikode, den skulle vi selv ringe efter. Der var kun en pude til hver og så larmede der også her. Dels fra varmesystemet der ikke var lukket tilstrækkeligt inde i et skab, så det lar ede voldsomt. Og der var også en idluftningskanal/ skab der var utæt så det larmede hele matten, da lågen stod halvåben direkte ud til en skakt. På begge værelser var der lydt ud til gaden og vil anbefale man booket et værelse med lydisolerede vinduer. Der er meget udendørs larm i napoli. Morgen maden blev serveret på værelset og vi fik det vi gerne ville - det var fint. Men ja vil ikke komme der igen og vil ikke anbefale det.

A refaire les yeux fermés!

Nous sommes restés 3 nuits dans cet hôtel dans la suite junior. Super accueil avec des recommandations de Filipe pour nous dire les choses à voir, à faire. Super conseils, bonnes adresses etc. L’emplacement de l’hôtel était idéal, surtout que nous étions à pied. La chambre était bien propre et jolie. Petit déjeuner en chambre avec le Covid mais très bon, tous les jours nous disions à quelle heure nous souhaitions être servis et ce que nous voulions manger.
On y retournerait les yeux fermés :)
