This property is not a lodge. It’s a stand alone building with no staff on site and no amenities. It does have a bar and restaurant at its sister accommodation’s down the road that you can use. The check-in involves being told your room number and that it is unlocked with the key inside. Room was 3/5 clean with trash left in the bin from previous tenants. Hot water ran out at the building about an hour before checkout. The staff was friendly.

Very cute mini cabin. Cabin was very clean. Beds were cozy and bathroom was a good size. I liked that they have heaters in the bathrooms. Nice place to lay our heads after a long day of traveling and visiting Yellowstone. The gas station next door has pretty good and reasonably priced hot food. Cabin is just a short drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone. Definitely would recommend if your not looking for anything upscale. Their check in is different, if not checking in on line call the number on their flyer at the door of the hotel. The keys were in the room and door was unlocked for us. There is also a front porch which would have been nice to sit on if it wasn't pouring rain and freezing lol. Stay here.

We stayed in one of their small cabins. Unfortunately, as soon as we opened the door, there was a heavy damp/mildew smell coming from the bathroom. We had to turn on fans and air out the place immediately. The cabins are tight, especially for four people and a dog but we made it work.
We made use of the refrigerator and the microwave since we brought our food. There’s not too many places to eat nearby, but there was a diner that we grabbed a little bit of breakfast at in the morning. The hotel has their own restaurant, but the restaurant and the hotel office is down the road from the actual cabins that you can stay in. It was a bit confusing at first.
I think I just expected something better for the price that we were paying. I understand that it’s going to cost more because of the proximity to Yellowstone, and it wasn’t as high priced as staying directly in West Yellowstone, but the cleanliness/smelliness issue is a real concern.

When you arrive, there is no office. You must call the number posted on a large sign. I called the number but had to leave a message. After driving 13 hours the prior day and 10 hours the day I arrived, getting a voicemail when I needed a bathroom and wanted to check in was very frustrating. Some other guests told me the rooms are left unlocked, so I could just go in. My key would be inside. I went in to grab the key. The lanyard was on the table, but the key was missing. I called the phone number and left a second message about the missing key. As a woman traveling alone, I did not feel safe staying in a room when the previous guest still had the room key. I explained this to the person when he arrived. He claimed that the “lock had been rekeyed and they had 5,000 keys.” Of course, I knew the lock had not been rekeyed since he was not even aware that the key had been taken. I told him I could not stay in that room because I felt unsafe. After telling me the motel was totally booked, he called the owner. The owner understood my concern and kindly put me in a different room which was a nicer room than I had booked. The problem was that it was extremely loud when anyone walked up the nearby wooded stairs. It wasn’t just the click of shoes on wood, but the whole stair squeaked loudly all the way up the full flight. The people walking around above me cools be heard through earplugs and the pillow I put over my head. I would NOT recommend staying at this motel.

Stayed in the small cabin with 2 queen sized beds. It was tight because its very difficult to find a place to stash your luggage. Cabin was good. Everything worked including heat which we definitely needed. TV worked good wifi spotty. Staff polite and attentive. Cleaning lady brought towels quick and took garbage on request. Beds on the harder side pillows better than most hotels. 35 min drive to west gate.

This place was fine for a one night stop while traveling. I would not want to stay there multiple days. The check in process is not good. One person in our party got an Email with instructions. The rest did not. We had to call to check in. There is no one on premises.

This is not a lodge! There is no lodge, it's just a building with rooms and cabins. You are sent information on location after 12 noon. They state they are minutes away from Yellowstone, it's 40+minute drive! There was plastic in the window for the AC, not very secure or safe. Old nasty wash cloth with soap and shampoo they maybe used in the past under the sink in the bathroom. Definitely not worth $235!!!

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The room was not in an acceptable clean condition and was not suitable to stay in. Every surface was thick with dust, there was hair clumps on the floor, piles of dust and hair visible and the edges of the beds and around baseboards, and trash on the floor. The microwave was also used and dirty, as was the fridge which also had hairs piled up in it. We immediately tried to contact the property but were unable to reach anyone. Our calls and messages went unanswered.

The checkin method was unsafe to say the least. The hotel is not as advertised. It is on the side of a road. Beds are camp style beds. Microwave and coffee making facilities are in the bathroom next to the toilet.

What was even more concerning for us personally was that there were no on-site staff, security, and no available point of contact, which had not been made clear when booking. This was a point that would have made us not book this particular property had we known.

I would encourage the property to be more transparent about its staffing arrangements and ensure rooms are properly prepared before guest arrival.

I stayed here with my family on two nights in two different rooms. One the first night, we had no hot water prob because there were too many people showering. Also there was water dripping down on me as I was sitting on the toilet which was really gross. We were on the first floor and we just heard nonstop footsteps for pretty much the whole night bc people had left early to travel and that was how bad the noise cancellation was at this property. On the second night, we were on the second floor so the noises weren’t as bad but couldn’t say the same for the people below us. And this room was significantly smaller than the one on the first night to the point where you can barely walk. The two double beds were diagonally facing each other and you have very little room to walk. The bathroom smelled like poop and we had to keep the window open for the whole night. And on top of that, the microwave and AC had to be in the bathroom bc of how small the room was. With the smell, this setup was honestly pretty bad. Avoid this place if you can, there are other places that are cleaner and more spacious with similar prices

Internet/wifi access was poor. This made the online checkin impossible for me. The air conditioner would not turn on. (Or I wasn't smart enough to run it.)

Despite being unable to checkin online, we were able to access the room & enjoyed our night's sleep.

First, it is a wooden structure. The movement upstairs made huge cracking noise on the wooden floor. It is very loud noise. Second, they gave me a room where the bathroom was not cleaned at all, it had hair on the bathroom sink, a half-dead bug in the tub, and garbage in the waste bin. Totally unexpected and it was already late that night. The hotel offered me a new room but their reply was too late (thru the expedia app) that I went to bed and only saw it the other morning, also it was a harssel to move since I've unpacked for quite a while then. I asked them for a partial refund and got no response.

The staff at the lodge were very helpful and friendly. Restaurant and bar were incredible with great views. We stayed in one of the cabins, which was perfect for us and our pups. There was even a horse, Hank, in our backyard. He was a sweetheart!

There is a microwave and a mini fridge, along with a hotel coffee maker. You do have access to a propane BBQ and 2 charcoal grills. There is also an area to have a fire if you desired. Ice machine was a big perk for us as we were camping prior and again after. Although I think you need to ppan ahead a bit as there was no ice bucket. Room was clean- pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

Only stayed 1 of 2 nights booked because it was very dirty there. The bathroom had stains on the sick and toilet, the shower smelled like pee and there was a stain on the comforter. I am a solo female traveler and the door didn’t have a deadbolt either. The check in process was also a bit ridiculous.

Exceeded my expectations!

We got this room because we wanted a budget option for our family of 4 and our dog. The room was much nicer than the pictures showed. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was great. The staff was so friendly. The nice restaurant across the street and the mini-mart at the Texaco had everything we needed. The Texaco had a \"potato bar\" for $1, and the kids could safely walk over and get hot cocoa or a potato.

At first glance the room was clean and cozy, but as we were preparing to go to bed we noticed that there were baby spiders along the top of the waynes coat which we had to clean out (my guess is that they cleaned up after the last guests but didn't check the room out again before renting it out again). The people in the room above us were up past midnight and we could hear them walking around and talking and you could hear the traffic go by like it was ten feet out the door. Custom service was all by phone/text, which was convenient as long as no assistance was needed. Overall - a one-night stay was okay, but I wouldn't stay any longer than that - maybe in the little cabins.

The room was very cute. The bed was comfortable and there were a lot of pillows which i loved. The gas station/convenience store .1 miles away had great smash burgers and fries at a reasonable price. There appeared to be several restaurants nearby. Check in is done via text. We were coming from Yellowstone with 0 service. Had to borrow wifi from a hotel in West Yellowstone. Other than that, everything was great.

The River Lodge cabin we had for two nights was awful. Floors were so filthy that even after showering if you walked on the floor just in the bathroom without shoes you had to wash your feet with a wet cloth before putting your house shoes on. There were spiders in webs in the ceiling that I had to knock down with a wet cloth when I saw them after showering as well as webs with insects caught in them. The cabin was inconvenient as there was no place to store any foods other than those that would need refrigeration. The bed linens on the beds did not look as if they were fresh washed as there were stains on one of the bottom sheets where something had been spilled and left. We were only booked for a 2 night stay and requested trash pickup before we left this morning at 6:45 and received a text message that because we requested trash pickup we were charged for a 3rd night. The request was only to let management know that we had left. All I can say to anyone thinking of booking a stay at River Lodge is DO NOT BOOK. I would never recommend River Lodge to anyone ever. This was the dirtiest place we have ever stayed.

It was just odd that everything was done on line. When I received a text to check-in i thought it was just to expedite the process. No that is how you check-in and your room is unlocked and you message when you arrive and leave. When i received the text I didn't have service for the day. It was just weird, its just technology.

Check in was a breeze. We never saw a staff member, it was all virtual. The bed was soft and comfortable, but during my initial inspection, I found the sheets were covered in human and pet hair, and there was also debris. I let the staff know by text, and they responded promptly, then had a manager contact me. He sent someone to change the sheets while we were out. The sheets still had hair on them, perhaps from the laundry, or maybe from the floor, which also had hair and dirt. This is a pet friendly facility. I don't have pets, so the hair probably bothered us more than it would a pet owner. The scenery nearby is beautiful.

I loved these cabins, such a unique idea! The only trouble we had is because we arrived after dark it was a little challenging to find which cabin was ours. I hope they get illuminated signs that won't attract the bugs. There is no front desk so they texted us the info and we were able to go straight to the cabin. No time wasted. But also, no breakfast options. There is a General Store close by that had hot breakfast options.

Lovely cabins set against a beautiful backdrop with great wifi. Our cabin was a bit hot when we arrived at 10 pm but that was quickly fixed by unplugging the heater. The service was \"streamlined\" so they send texts and phone up to see how you are doing, but the management was very friendly.
