A royal stay

Stunning location- lovely rooms, fabulous dinner. At check in a somewhat (and unfortunately all too common in Sweden) prickly service but the dining staff were impeccably, the checkout receptionist courteous. Breakfast is not to skip. Overall, I recommend highly.

The property was a little bit of a let down. We were expecting for bigger rooms and more of a royal feel. However, the room we booked was away from the main reception. The roads were not paved. Dragging baggage was a pain. The breakfast was mediocre. The castle should really look into renovating. Stay here only if you are interested in looking at art and experiencing a sort of ancient feel rather than convenience and modern amenities.

This was a very elegant property, beautiful buildings rooms, excellent breakfast delicious dinner cooked by an accomplished chef. If you have a heavy suitcase, the parking lot is about 100 yards from the entrance and it’s a little difficult going uphill in gravel. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and they have luxurious rooms to sit in and have coffee after dinner downstairs. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful as is the Cook. I definitely recommend this place and plan on returning in future visit visits to Sweden.

Very disappointing, I booked in January and for a meal in the restaurant and was moved out and put on a table with no thought it was like sitting in a corridor to the point that I had to ask to eat in my room, completely spoilt the whole experience.
The room was ok but smaller than it looks in the photos .
Be aware that you have to walk up the drive which is shingles so your suitcase will not run on wheels. No assistance is offered when you then have to take your luggage over to another building when you have booked main building. Some of the staff were nice others made me feel like i was an inconvenience.
The surrounding areas gardens and lake are beautiful with nice walks.

Above and beyond what's expected.

The room was clean and comfortable albeit a little small. The staff where amazing.
I arrived late in the afternoon and was told they could fit me in the restaurant last minute. As I got to my room the front of house arrived a few minutes behind me and told me there was an issue and I couldn't be seated for another 1.5-2 hours. They were apologetic and offered me a hot sandwich and salad in the bar. I took them up on the sandwich and it was great!- Went above and beyond in my opinion. I would 100% stay again.

Wonderful over night stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Lots of trails to walk around on the property and they are working hard to completely restore this place. Rooms were comfortable and a really cool mix of past meets present. Would have loved to stay a few more days just to enjoy the grounds more. Breakfast and dinner were awesome!

We felt like royalty, our experience was so amazing. The staff are so friendly, conscientious, and thoughtful. Ingela checked us in and was so hospitable and kind. She made our stay so delightful, we booked another night. The grounds are simply beautiful and serene. We had the most amazing dinner experiences with Chef Daniel who came to our table each night and visited with us. His food is simply amazing! The rooms to relax and have tea/coffee/snacks are made for relaxing and are so inviting. Absolutely one of our most favorite places we have ever stayed.

Cozy and updated rooms

Very cozy and well kept hotel. The room was very clean and updated, especially the bathroom. I wasn’t expecting such a well kept room for an old castle. It was such a lovely room, I’m very pleased.

The main person there (I believe she’s the manager) was very friendly and provided great service.

The estate also provides a beautiful landscape to enjoy a long walk.

Nice overall, but avoid the annex

The castle building itself is very nice and the setting and surroundings are wonderful. Breakfast is also exceptional. The reason for my low rating is that I got a room in the annex \"Kallarbacken\" which is neither charming or comfortable. Tiny rooms in a rickety barrack building where you hear and feel each time the main door is used. Would have been ok if the booking information clearly indicated the kind of room and building, and if the price reflected the standard. But for anyone expecting to stay in a castle, this hostel like room will be a disappointment. I would consider coming back, but would then make sure my room was in the actual castle.

Super impressed with the service, the hotel isn’t a luxury or something anyone would book for a stay over three days but for a one night layover it’s prefect, it’s quiet,it’s clean, free WiFi and breakfast and friendly staff and the fact that you’re staying at an old castle makes the experience that much better.

Wonderful ambiance and nice room BUT.....

The stay was good with a very pleasant room BUT: Reception was difficult to find in a large rambley property.
We had to carry(or drag) our bags approx 100 meters across loose gravel - I shudder of the thought of snow on the ground.
Parking was about 200 meters away from the room and from reception.
The restaurant offered only one choice of dish.
Service at the bar was unsophisticated and very expensive.

Unexpected Stopover in Stockholm

After an overnight delay at Stockholm Airport we managed to source a room at this hotel via hotels.com The airline's representatives were not able to help us locate accommodation so we had to do it ourselves. It was a dark evening and the first taxi could not locate the hotel so he took us back to airport as we were having communication problems with him. The next driver had no problems and drove us straight there. It was very dark all round and the Reception was not easy to find. The driver went into a rear door which looked like the kitchen access and managed to find someone to tell us where to go. When we drove round to the front again the employee was waving from the doorway to guide us. Nothing was too much bother for her and she took us in a golf buggy round to our accommodations. Although the restaurant was closed by the time we arrived she said the bar was open and showed us where it was. We weren't hungry so we were not bothered but did go down for a drink. The receptionist said that reception closed at 10 but when we left the lounge at 11 she was still there beavering away forwarding communications for the breakfast team re the sudden influx of late guests. I was very impressed with this lady and indeed I have to say that I think she has probably been the best receptionist I have ever met. Breakfast was wonderful and my only regret was that we had no time to fully appreciate the magnificent hotel and it's surroundings. I would love to go back.

Go to relax. It's in the middle of nowhere.

We had a one night layover in Stockholm and decided to do something crazy and stay at this palace. We wanted to relax and unwind from a busy week touring Poland. We got what we wanted here! There is NOTHING around. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and awesome buffet breakfast in the morning. The room was quaint. The four poster bed was very comfortable. The cab ride coming back was less due to no airport taxes when returning. It's only 8 miles from the airport. We are very happy we stayed here!

OK for a one nighter, could be more comfortable

Stayed here for one night as Stockholm was completely booked out. It's a beautiful setting and the castle itself is lovely. The rooms are extremely small though and the beds are way too soft, my back was killing me the day after. Also the blind wasn't long enough in the room and with the long summer days the light came pouring through.

Not Good If You're Disabled Or Hurt

I stayed here right after having hernia surgery. When I checked in, I was told it would be an outdoors, 600 ft walk to my room on the other side of the hotel grounds. When I informed the clerk that I couldn't walk that far (much less in the dark), he shrugged his shoulders and told me he couldn't do anything about it. So I ended up walking the entire amount. And then I had to walk the entire amount back in the morning to return the key and book a taxi, because the service is bad in this area and I couldn't book an Uber or Lyft from the room.

Beautiful castle hotel

This is a beautiful hotel located on the grounds of a real Swedish castle. The only drawback is the distance from the parking lot to the rooms, which can make hauling large suitcases a bit of a chore, but I do appreciate the need to preserve the historic nature of this property. The grounds are stunning and befitting a castle. The rooms are big and comfortable, and have lovely period furnishings. The property is located in the country side, so a vehicle is necessary. Very easy access to Stockholm by train from Rosersberg (5 min drive to the station) and only a 10 minute drive to Arlanda Airport. We had dinner here one night, and because they had a conference banquet happening on another floor, we were only offered a choice of 2 items. A salad or chicken. The food was ok, but most likely would have be better if their full menu had been available to us, because their breakfast was outstanding. I will stay here again the next time I am in Stockholm.

I want to be fair and precise in this review.
I was aware in advance that the room was located in a separate building about 150 meters from the main castle, so the distance itself was not the issue. The problem was the condition and environment of that building, which did not match the quality, comfort, or overall experience presented on Hotels.com or implied by the price and 4-star rating.
The surrounding area were dark, very quiet, and appeared largely empty. The room felt worn and significantly below the expected standard. Upon arrival, the reception also informed us that there might be very few or no people remaining on the property during the evening, and that we should contact security guards if assistance was needed. This did not feel appropriate or reassuring for a hotel at this level.
Because of these factors, we chose to leave the hotel the same evening and book alternative accommodation. The replacement hotel was considerably cheaper yet offered a clearly higher standard in terms of comfort, condition, and overall experience, which further highlights the mismatch between price and delivered value.
To be fair, Rosersbergs Slottshotell did refund half of the booking amount as a goodwill gesture, which I acknowledge. However, the explanation given was that a full refund was not possible due to fees and commissions related to Hotels.com. As a guest, it is unreasonable to be placed between the hotel and the booking platform when the issue concerns the

Jättetrevligt ställe och fint område. Hade inga förväntningar innan då flickvännen och jag behövde någonstans att övernatta för att åka vidare nästa dag. Vi blev glatt överraskade över det fina området, där vi tog en promenad, även middagen och frukosten är vi jättenöjda med. Rummet var mysigt och rent men saknade en spegel i rummet, strykjärn, duschtvål samt möjligen ett litet kylskåp. Men det är små detaljer, där allt annat var till belåtelse.

Jättefint ställe men noll service. I receptionen kunde de inte säga när caféet var öppet \"gå dit och fråga\". Vi bad om att få en drink men fick till svar att sånt gör de inte så ofta. Men om ingridienserna fanns kanske de kunde blanda till något. Sängen var 140cm bred. Lite tajt för att dela med en kompis. Frukostbuffén var utplockad. Vi fick gå in i köket och be dem fylla på flera saker som, bla smör mm. I slutet av frukosten stod disk på i stort sett varje bord. Inte jättetrevlig miljö att äta frukost i. Hotellet har potential men personeln behöver lära sig service. Då jag själv arbetat på hotell och med service blev jag förvånad hur dåligt uppstyrt det var.

Perfect place for relaxing!
The park is large, lots of walking/jogging possibilities and places for picnic. Breakfast was good, quite ordinary. Dinner menu is short, so 3 dinners is a max if you dont want to eat the same twice.
Beds were comfortable (I like soft beds)
Our dog was warmly welcomed 🐾 At least our room was quite small but we didn't mind as we spent most of our time outside enjoying beutiful sunny summer days.
I hope we have a possibility to travel here again as this place is full of peace, beauty and the pages of history.

Vackert slott men ganska trista rum

Vacker byggnad men ganska slitet och inte riktigt den ”slottsstandard” jag räknat med. Badrummet var väldigt basic och kändes mer som på ett vårdboende. Inga avställningsytor eller sminkspegel. Dåligt utrustat. Dock sköna sängar men vi vaknade tidigare än vi ville eftersom det bara fanns en enkel rullgardin och inga mörkläggningsgardiner.

Ok men inte mer, och detta grundar på flera saker.
Parkeringen var gratis & precis utanför.
Incheckningen var ok, men det var inte lämpligt att dra väskan efter sig eftersom det låg väldigt mycket rullgrus på gångarna up till receptionen.
Mitt ekonomi rum var slitet och spartanskt. Persiennjusteringen saknades
Bastu & relaxavdelning var gammalt och slitet.
Gymmet var ok men gammalt.
Frukosten var ok med ok utbud & inget som stack ut eller gav något mervärde.

Det enda som stack ut var att det var ett slott och det var smakfullt inrett i det gamla slottet.

Mycket trevlig park att promenera i.
Städningen kan förbättras mycket!
Första dagen ingen städning alls.
Använda glas byttes inte (vi bodde där fyra nätter) ut.
Städningen utfördes sent på eftermiddagarna.
Handdukar byttes inte under vår vistelse.
Inget stort problem men har man vita dukar under frukosten bör man byta dessa mellan gästerna man vill inte sätta sig på en plats som är smulig och smutsig.

A great experience

We had a wonderful visit to Rosersbergs Slottshotell. Having lived half my life in Sweden, I had never heard of this \"castle\", and we were very pleased with the experience. The room was very cozy and clean. The \"chocolate\" tray I preordered was amazing along with the sparkling wine. The staff were all very friendly and warm. The restaurant offered exquisite food and charm.

Hundar välkomna

Vi sov en natt med mycket god nattsömn. Plus enligt mig är att hundar är tillåtna. Det fanns fyra rum där hundar icke fick bo, i övrigt vistades hundar på slottet vid måltider och i caféet säljs hundfoder. Historiskt mycket intressant i vackra omgivningar och vilken möjlighet att få bo på ett slott.

Vackert inredda rum. Bra frukost med gott om alternativ. Middagen smakade också bra, även om det hade varit trevligt med något ytterligare på menyn. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Dock kändes sängarna, även om de var sköna, som väldigt smala.
Synd bara att själva slottet inte var öppet

Mysigt hotell med fantastisk miljö och omgivning

Otroligt mysigt slottshotell med fin miljö runt omkring. Rummet var lite mindre än bilderna. Mycket god frukost! Kommer gärna tillbaka.

Dock får bartendern (som även stod i receptionen) gärna ta en drinkkurs, då drinkarna han serverade saknade balans samt endast var halvfyllda/ojämnt fördelade vilket var lite trist.

Fin vistelse i en fantastisk miljö. Utmärkt frukost. Kändes tryggt och bra ordnat för att undvika trängsel med anledning av Covid-19. Lite små rum men fint inredda. Hade dock önskat oss bredare sängar. Väl smal som dubbelsäng.

Rent och snyggt. Märks att staten äger. Fantastiskt slott där man får underbar mat och fantastiska bakverk. Rummen ligger dock i en tråkig tillbyggnad, men där sover man ju bara.

Det var ett utmärkt hotell. Det kändes lyxigt att vara i ett så fint hotell. Personalen är så vänliga där. Mat och dryck är dyrt där på restaurangen, men ändå värt det. Det är jättegod mat och dryck där. Frukosten ingår och det är bra. Frukosten är fantastiskt god där. Det var så lugnt och skönt att sova natten i hotellrummet.

En natt på slottet

Super mysigt rum men allt man kan tänkas behöva för 1 natts vistelse. Sänggaveln på ena sidan sängen var dock trasig och det var ett tillfälle vi trodde den sida skulle kollapsa, men det gick bra :)

Bra och trevlig service i receptionen, och vi var glada att frukostbuffén var ”öppen”, trots omständigheterna. Allt var anpassat efter restriktionerna och de gäster vi mötte respekterade alla det.

Jättefin miljö runt om med många lokala besökare med hundar.

Kan absolut rekommendera en vistelse på Slottet.
