Comfortable hotel next to a provincial park

We had a deluxe king room which was huge. It was reasonably priced, has access to a beach and is right next to a provincial park where we did some hiking. We stayed 4 nights for visiting friends in a neighbouring village and were very glad to have a place with air conditioning. Breakfast was a simple plate of croisant/pain chocolat, a piece of cheese and small amounts of fruit everyday. Unlimited yogurt, bread, peanut butter, coffee and tea.

Mostly very quiet except for the last night when there was a wedding.

We were surprised to discover that they only service the room every 4 days. Thankfully they were willing to give us extra towels.

1. Room shown in the website is different from what we got. There are 2 buildings, newer and older.
We received the room in the older building.
2. No air-conditioning and TV in the room.
3. Small spiders found in the bathroom.
4. Breakfast will be served only at the time slot what the lobby decides.
We are not happy at all and not worth the money staying at this inn.

Stayed here for the ultranza trail race and it was perfect, so good to have a room walk distance from the start line where everyone else is parking. Staff were very friendly and meals were great. Breakfast slightly more limited than some other hotels - don’t expect the full buffet - but is included in room and did the job perfectly well. The common room areas and lodge vibes were a big plus. Would be a great base to explore the outdoors from.

This property was an absolute treat, especially the beach and dock areas! It was quiet and stunning down there, the lake glistens and the water was beautiful.

The Inn itself was nice, the beds are super comfortable and the room was clean. It’s basic, with no bells and whistles but was perfect for what we needed.

The only reason I’m giving this rating a 4 star instead of 5, is because when we arrived, they confirmed to us that the room was ready, but would not let us check in early unless we paid a $25 fee. This bothered me because they literally confirmed that the room was ready, and the Inn was practically empty, so proper customer service would have let us check in early (especially cause we were celebrating a big birthday)

Instead, we changed into our swimsuits and left our things in the car and headed down to the beach. It was a great day and night after that!

Would definitely stay here again!

We returned to this hotel because we had spent our honeymoon there 64 years ago! We were delighted that they were still in business. We enjoyed our stay again this year and really enjoyed the whole experience again. Everyone there treated us very nice. Great chef if you want to eat in! Everyone was great! Hope you can rebuild the old lodge, it has a lot of character.

Great Secret Little Gem in the Laurentians

I have stayed here many times prior to this visit. This is a new building with really nice rooms. Exceptionally Quiet out in nature. Its close to skiing or hiking or canoeing. There is a trail not far from here that used to be the Petit Train du Nord. The government turned it to a biking and hiking trail in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. You can go as far as Montreal I believe.
The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that they didn't clean our room for 3 days. I had to ask for towels after 2 days. We received clean towels, but they didn't bother making the bed or any other cleaning. It seemed odd but it was not a deal breaker. The breakfast is basic. Fruit plate with deviled egg and croissant, and you can also have cereal, toast or bagel and cereal.
I will definitely return as we really like it here and there's really no other hotel nearby this lovely little town in the Laurentians.

Property is really nice, and the area surrounding it is gorgeous! The bedroom looked like it was recently renovated, the bathroom was modern and the shower and toiletries were very good. Staff was friendly. Only thing to note is regarding breakfast. We were requested to book a 30 min time slot (for example 8:30am, 09:00, 09:30 etc) but when we got there we had to wait as there were no tables available, some people stayed over 1 hour. And the breakfast is a plate of fruits, they offer yogurt, cheese and some options of bread, but it is not self-serve nor all you can eat, so be mindful of that. Overall it was good and I'd stay there again

Reception was not particularly welcoming. Walls were not soundproof so we were awakened at 7:30 by very noisy children in the next room. Water pressure in shower was very low. Breakfast was ok, but not we’ll set up. Rather than being able to serve ourselves cafeteria style, we had to wait for someone to serve us. The food was ok, no great.

I was allocated a basement room where an intermittent strange noise persisted throughout the night. Additionally, peculiar markings adorned the ceiling and door frames, raising uncertainty whether they indicated mold. The bathroom emitted an unpleasant sewer odor. The initial two days were marked by full motel occupancy, thus I was assured a different room by the third day. However, upon my return to the reception around 9:30 PM, I encountered a locked door. My attempts to contact emergency services yielded no response for approximately an hour. Despite my efforts to ascertain room details and entry instructions, I was unsuccessful. Subsequently, I reached out to Expedia, yet they too were unable to facilitate assistance. Consequently, I resorted to utilizing the original room for which my access code remained functional. Beyond the evident deficiency in service quality, I find myself perplexed by the absence of a responsive emergency hotline within a large hotel. The potential consequences of a dire situation occurring without immediate aid is disconcerting. I am genuinely disheartened that Expedia promotes stays in such establishments, where safety can be a legitimate concern.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Far Hills! The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, quiet, relaxing, and inspiring. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful, always ready to accommodate their clients and make their stay as enjoyable as possible. I booked a room via expedia. when I reached there, the rooms do not have air conditioner, tiny rooms. I was shocked as I did not expect expedia to recommend a location without AC. I have been expedia customer for years. I choose expedia because of trust.

I could not stay in the room, so I was ready to sleep in the car.

Then my wife called and asked them how is that possible. To find that they had Air condition room as an upgrade. I paid extra for the room.

The difference was calculated without expedia's commission. And the staff was terrible at dealing with issues. Not competent.

The new accommodation is clean, with AC.
So please, make sure customers know this issue of AC. Otherwise, you are bringing down expedia's reputation.

We enjoyed the natural beauty and seclusion, but the property itself and the main lodge are still under renovation. Staff were very friendly, but there was no staff on site after 16:30. We had to ask for clean towels and more shampoo, as rooms were not made up daily. Breakfast was good. We’ll be back in three years when it’s finished!

A Grand Ole Dame is being reborn!
This is an old property that was very popular during the 50's, 60\"s - 70's. It is in the process of being totally done over. The second building will open prior to Christmas 2021 for the skiing season. The main building will be done 2022.
Great stay for Hikers, Kayaking, Cycling and any other outdoor sports right at the front door.
Love it and always stay there when I visit family.

The best thing about Le Cedar Lodge is that you can walk onto beautiful trails in the Val Morin-Val David park, and you have access on site to a lovely, clean lake. The lodge provides kayaks, SUPs and paddleboats, as well as park passes, as part of your room. Across the property are lots of fire pits, bbqs, hammocks and more. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Services are limited--there is no resto on site, but you can bring food to prepare in the outdoor kitchen area and there are fridges in the rooms. A relaxing and easy break in nature.

The lodge is in a great location on a beautiful tranquil lake with lots of hiking trails in a nearby provincial park. The beach is rather small but the free equipment that includes kayaks, paddle boats and boards is almost new.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi network is excellent.

Our \"deluxe\" room was small and in need of repair. The shower kept flooding the bathroom floor irrespective of where the curtain was placed. The curtain rod was cracked and the door hinges rusted.

The stained duvet was missing a cover and the only duvet cover a staff member was able to find for us was of the wrong size. Finally, there was no A/C which made the room uncomfortable during the hot August days.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and may return. We just hope to get a better room next time in one of the new buildings that are currently under construction.

The lodge is a really nice place to stay. The formula with all the activities included and the ability to cook for yourself in the kitchen allows for a lot of freedom and a very economical stay.
They are a lot of things to do from enjoying the lake, it's small beach and all the water activities, to the many hikes of the park across the street, to the tennis court and garden.
The staff was really helpful in finding us a restaurant on a late Friday evening, finding a table for us on the deck, putting together a camp fire at night, ...
The one very negative aspect of the stay was the breakfast. It was supposed to be included as a continental breakfast, but due to covid, they decided to distribute a boxed breakfast which included nothing but a few sugary snacks for kids, not a real breakfast at all. When we complained about it, they didn't seem to care. It seems management made an executive decision to downgrade service to the bare minimum without even thinking about putting in place a boxed breakfast that would actually feed grown adults. It left a sour note on an otherwise very good stay.

Awesome Quick Getaway

This place is a gem! I highly recommend this lodge. I had a great weekend. Hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, cooking, relaxing. Note that it’s kind of like an hostel. Bring your food You can even BBQ on site. Also the place was very clean!!

The cedar lodge is very basic with no frills. Not even rug on floor in bedroom. There are no bar facilities or restuarant. Food has to be brought in by yourself. Being remote this gives limited options. The only thing that saves the place is the staff who do their best to help you.

The pictures don't quite do Le Cedar Lodge justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely our accommodations were, and how remote the lodge felt. For anyone who is looking to spend time bird-watching, hiking, or doing really anything outdoors- this spot is perfect (a five minute walk from a gorgeous regional park). For this price, in particular, this stay is really as good as it gets!

I understand that they are in the process of building a new facility, however the one that’s present is far from satisfactory. The grounds are a construction site, the room, very small, no tv or phone...with walls paper thin. We could hear every whisper and every step of anyone nearby. We loved the open spaces, view, wild turkeys and the peacefulness.
The room was clean, lots of towels,small fridge, great duvet.
Nice lounge for sitting in,TV, cold water and coffee available.
One section opened recently so the rest is still closed. A box breakfast is served every morning which is fine for a couple of days but not more. There is a lake and beach which we did not use as it was too difficult for my husband to come back. No restaurant at this time but 10 minute drive to multiple places to eat.

Endroit absolument magnifique avec une plage privée pour les clients de l'hôtel.
Il y a deux bâtisses, la plus récente des le Spruce et la moins récente, mais tout aussi jolie, est la Cedar. Attention, certaines chambres, dont celle que nous avions, n'ont pas la climatisation par contre, on nous a prêté un ventilateur. Je ne sais pas pour les autres chambres, mais notre matelas était très très mou par contre.
Le service est impeccable et très chaleureux. Je recommande fortement cet endroit malgré le matelas mou et la chambre sans clim. Vous pouvez également vous rendre à pied au Parc régional de Val-Morin où nous sommes allés faire une randonnée enchanteresse.

C'est une magnifique location! On a logé dans une des suites deluxe, et on a beaucoup aimé le jumelage de style moderne et de style rustique naturel. Le mobilier est en bois massive et les grandes fenêtres ont la vue vers la forêt et la montagne. Les grands sapins et les majestueux bouleaux sont tellement près des fenêtres qu'ils donnent l'impression qu'on soit dans la nature. On dirait que la chambre était une prolongation de la nature.
Tout est bati avec du vrais bois et des roches de montagne!
On a beaucoup apprécié l'accueil et le personnel chaleureux et courtois, leur restaurant, la tranquillité, tout cela dans un environnement naturel d'une grande beauté.
Un seul \"défaut\": le temps a passé trop vite..😄
C'est une expérience à refaire!
