The only thing good about Foster’s was the location & view. Mr Daniel was also great too.

The property is not very clean, we turned the faucets on when we got there and had nothing come out of the hot side at all. We complained and they said they fixed it. It wasn’t much better… the shower had a trickle come out, at best.
No a/c in the bathroom, so they kept the windows open- with no screens, and 99 degrees, 88% humidity. By the time you took a “shower” in the barely trickling water, and the sweat and bug bites were extreme.
-The bed felt like a brick, and was MISERABLE.
-We asked before coming if there was a safe in the room, and they said yes. (There ended up being 2) but neither worked and the keys were gone.
-The property has a “lagoon” coming across the front of it, and pouring into the ocean each time it rains. Workers said it is just rain water that dumps when it gets full, but it smells like 100% sewer, and so awful.
-the property claims a kitchenette, and although the cabinets are loaded with pans, there is mo stove, and the microwave would not pop a bag of popcorn.
-They do have an onsite restaurant, but it is way overpriced compared to the other restaurants in the area. My husband ordered orange juice and received some sort of powder “tang” mix. This restaurant also added in a tip on the bill, as well as gratuity!
Location of the property was amazing was amazing, but they need to desperately put some money into the property, and get it cleaned up.

The lights went off for almost 5 hours took them a while to fix it and it was hot. I kept trying to contact the desk person no one answered and no one reached out to me at least for an explanation or courtesy I was expecting to hear
We give you a discount for the inconvenience for next staying in our hotel that was very disappointing to me.

Great Island but don’t stay in treehouse

We stayed in the treehouse, which looked great in photos on hotel.com but in truth was greatly overpriced. We have stayed in cheap beach huts in India and Thailand so don’t mind roughing it but we expect to pay accordingly. The most they should charge is $20. The staff were lovely and very helpful and we loved the Island of Roatan.

The only negative thing about this place was the fact that they lost electricity Sunday morning. That was very inconvenient for us but we managed. The people are great. The view and the beach is beautiful.

I went to Fosters with 4 other people.They gave us all rooms that had NO hot water. There were small ants crawling all over the floor in all of our rooms. They have no idea how to prepare food. We were served fajitas with no tortillas. The beans and rice were cold. The beer was NOT cold, coffee was $2 a cup and I got 2 refills that were $2 each so I was charged $6 for coffee in the morning. We were short changed twice, an accident, I doubt it. The small stove in the kitchenette did not work in my room. They started playing loud music at 7:00am so we could never sleep in. The inside door handle in one of the rooms stopped working so one of our party got locked inside the room. The music was so loud he could not even call out the window to get some help, he had to call us on his phone. We went to the office to complain, the manager followed him back to the room, spent 10 minutes fiddling with the handle and then left the room and shut the door and locked him in the room again.

One of their employees who worked in the bar, Eddie, was great and the maids were friendly and helpful.

All in all, I would never stay there again and DO NOT recommend this resort to anyone. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Fosters delivers great beach experience

Fosters has an excellent beach at eastern end of West Bay Beach. There isn't a constant stream of walkers passing by like other resorts. The semi-sub glass bottom boat is right there. I enjoyed an hour on it for $25. Fosters is popular with cruise ship passengers so expect some of them every few days.
The dive shop has 3 one tank dives per day, it is usually only 5 minutes by boat to the dive sites. Although the $50 rate per dive including equipment is a bargain, Fosters guests get a discount. I didn't want a full breakfast before an 8:30 dive but a banana bread guy walks through before that, perfect. Fosters offers a great beach, great dive shop and convenience to shops and restaurants at a fair price.

The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. Sadly, we found that out because we kept having to ask for things to be fixed. NO water one morning, pool of water from AC on living room floor, awful smell another day. Most mornings around 7:00 am guy came through with blower spraying some kind of poison all around each cottage. Our windows were open...arghhh. 10+ bees came in each evening and died on the floor.. This is a great beach, lots of nightlife...but Fosters has brown slightly smelly stream flowing through middle of hotel grounds out to ocean. Expect prices for restaurants and activities to be same as US. I highly recommend buying both kinds of car insurance if you rent a car. Kids, motorcycles, dogs run out into the street at the drop of a hat. Crazy traffic passing on curves and hills. Good cheap massage at Fosters. Bring bug spray for sure.

It is a nice hotel by the beach...older but love that i had a small kitchen..They came in and cleaned fine. we were able to watch the beach from our outside porch table..great to have morning coffee there. Rustic but works and you're right by the nice beach..Power went out once during our week stay but it's an island...

Fosters is a wonderful place but the towels and linens are very cheap and old.

Spraying or fumigating there grounds should be a most

Should not claim to have wifi

WiFi was patchy at best. Usually did not have a strong enough connection to check weather let alone use the internet. Was occasionally able to link onto external WiFi sources but soon discovered WiFi provided by Fosters was essentially useless. The room was fairly clean with bedsheets changed daily. Some nights we came back to sheets with staining and once the comforter smelled of urine. Did not have hot water for first three days of the stay; unsure if this was room specific or resort-wide. Overall a pleasant stay mostly due to proximity to beach. Be warned, solicitors will wake you up if you are napping on your porch for first floor rooms.

Not a grand hotel, but...

This was our first trip to Roatan. We booked through Expedia to stay in the \"Treehouse\" at Foster's. Romantic, but no AC. They were very nice and gave us a different room, bigger and nicer, with fridge, microwave and blessedly cool. On West Bay Beach, with lots of great food, excellent snorkeling right off the beach. Our room was serviced unobtrusively every day, with fresh towels and linens, and drinking water was provided. The decor was definitely rustic, but everything worked and we would definitely stay there again. No pampering, but everything needed for a great week.

Power outage

This property does not have a generator. While we were there, the power was out for 6 hours. When I asked one of the workers when it would be back, he told me \"just relax, this is the way we live on the island\". I went to bed with no AC and completely dirty after being in the ocean all day because the water didn't work either. Very uncomfortable.

Simple and dated rooms just steps away from beach.

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for... A place close to the beach in a quieter section of the popular West Bay area. It was located on the very end of the beach front which was really nice because it was much quieter on the ends than in the middle. Much less crowded in our area especially when crew ships were in town.

great location, nice staff but rooms lack cleaning

It's in a great location especially if you are a diver since they have a dive shop on the premises. Staff was friendly, owner was nice and helpful. My only complaint is that the maids did not really seem to clean properly, behind the bed was dirty and had spiderwebs, the lamp was full of dust and the water dispenser overflow container was full of old stagnant green water which was nesting mosquitos and we couldn't sleep from getting bit up all night. They didnt clean the bathroom sink and we were there for almost 2 weeks, I mentioned them cleaning the room a Lil better but didn't notice any difference.

You crave mold and mildew. You can't wait to have the ants carry you away or you simply can't live without The smell of raw sewer.. At some point this was the queen of West bay but the queen has not aged gracefully. The staff is great from the front desk to the grounds keepers but?

Mere steps to the beach.

Friendly staff - especially the office staff. Local restaurants are fantastic! Never had a bad meal. My so caught a couple tuna and staff at BoHo Restaurant cooked them up for us! Beach is nice and so is water. Our room was very rustic but cleaned daily with fresh towels every day but only change sheets every 7 days. Owner is very friendly and personable.

No vayan al HOTEL FORESTERS BAY RESORT

El Hotel Foresters es una ESTAFA. Desde el ingreso a la propiedad del hotel es un DESASTRE. No está asfaltado es de terracería, con grandes agujeros, olor fétido de agua acumulada y no tiene iluminación. Las habitaciones son incómodas, amuebladas con equipo de cocina y muebles viejos. El agua \"potable\" que sale de los grifos, es agua salada y con mal olor, los drenajes del hotel están a flor de tierra no tienen fosa séptica y el agua la descargan al mar por medio de un canal. El hotel tiene muy poca iluminación exterior y el diseño de las habitaciones absolutamente incómodas y en mal estado.

El hotel se encuentra en mal estado, las instalaciones descuidadas, las habitaciones sucias, el agua para bañarse y cepillarse los dientes esta contaminada, la habitación que me toco no se podia poner llave. No recomiendo visitar el lugar menos si se viaja con familia.
