What a great place to stay and a perfect place off the beaten path!
All the staff were friendly and communication was top-notch with WhatsApp group messages every day full of recommendations, history and overall tips.
They were also very responsive to all our questions.
Food on site was always tasty and there was lots to do, from paddling, to games (ping pong, darts, corn hole), nightly/daily events (bingo, live music, bonfire, local market), DIVING (dive shop on site was outstanding) and easy to walk to a few other spots or drive/get a ride to West End.
We loved sitting out on our balcony every day with coffee.
Wifi was super fast and reliable.

The Blue Bahia was everything I was looking for in a relaxed, down to earth, island getaway. From arrival to departure, the staff and dive shop members were all welcoming, friendly, and informative. We stayed for 8 nights and by the time we had to leave we had felt like we had become part of Blue Bahia family and getting woven into the islander life style.
With many rental styles, Sunset view 2 fit our needs perfectly. Above the restaurant and overlooking the ocean, the morning view and evening sunsets were sites that we couldn’t get enough of. The rentals and the grounds were well kept and offered poolside relaxation or activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, or through the dive shop with snorkeling or diving. Even though we were located in a quieter part of the island, we were within an easy 22 minutes of multiple fun activities and local restaurants, which the owners and staff were more than happy to tell us about.
The restaurant and bar offered a lot of weekly activities (live music, bingo, trivia) and specials, along with their normal menu that found us returning to multiple times.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next time we see our friends at the Blue Bahia.

Our stay at Blue Bahia exceeded our expectations. Owners were very friendly, helpful, and available during our stay with daily WhatsApp updates. Restaurant/ bar has excellent food and drinks for reasonable prices. On site dive shop is a plus as they are very professional and reasonable as well with small dive groups.

This was such a peaceful place to call home during our visit to Roatan. Just a short car ride away from the busier west end/west bay area where we would visit for activities or dining. The Blue Bahia felt extremely safe and everyone was very welcoming. The kids loved the darts, ping pong, and cornhole. Plus they have kayaks to use and the food at the beach grill was some of the best we had all week. highly recommend staying here! So charming and fun.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Blue Bahia Resort! The staff were fantastic — so friendly and attentive. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Everything was perfect, and we’ll remember the sunsets and amazing staff forever. Blue Bahia feels like family. We quickly learned every staff member’s name, and they made us feel at home. Becca set up a WhatsApp group for us before arrival, ensuring fast, helpful communication. Her daily messages with restaurant specials, entertainment, Roatan history, and local happenings were very useful, including specials from other local restaurants.

Our room, The Wave, was spacious, with a full kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table, living room, large bedroom, closet, and a bathroom with double sinks. AC units in both rooms made for comfortable nights

The resort’s small size meant it was never crowded, and help was always available. We had a rental car but could have used local cabs—West End and West Bay are close and affordable, and Libby was a great driver. The location is ideal for exploring gardens, nature parks, and avoiding cruise ship crowds.

The beach has soft sand, reclining chairs, free paddle boards and kayaks and the reef is an easy swim (or use kayak/paddleboard to get to the reef and tie off on a buoy) for snorkeling. The pool was always clean and cool.

Thanks to Jojo, Johnny, Cesar, Jessie, Jericho, Selema, Carlos, Becca, Kim, and Josh for making us feel welcome.

Note: The public beach has some auto traffic, and a few yards into the ocean, the sand turns to silt and sea grass due to conservation rules.

We had an amazing time at the Blue Bahia during our honeymoon. It was both secluded and in a great location to get to other parts of the island. The restaurant on site allowed us to add to our tab and had amazing food, it felt as though we could get a drink or food anytime we wanted. Extremely kind and attentive staff. There were a few other locations for food near by that were walkable. Every day the host recommended activities that were great! Absolutely amazing trip and we couldn’t be happier. We don’t dive but would highly recommend for divers as dive shop onsite!

The staff is fantastic-very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed every meal.
It’s a beautiful location.
The only draw back is that it is not an inviting beach to relax on. A road runs down the beach and the water is nothing you would want to walk into. The pool is nice and it’s a small resort.
If you are looking to retreat in a non-touristy spot-this is your place.

Blue Bahia is a cozy place to stay. Rooms/condos are rustic but rural beach suitable. Management communication is excellent and aims to please. Housekeeping & maintenance do an excellent job. Ii would say this is off the beaten track abd is ideal for people who are adventuresome and prefer to avoid the big all inclusives and the clutter of touristy shops. The on site restaurant had good service, really nice service staff, and good food. Do try the soursop iced tea - it is not on the menu, so ask for it. Within walking distance you can arrabge for horseback rides, dolphin encounters, dive and snorkel trips. The pool is beautiful and refreshing. I stayed 5 nights and would return.

It was a unique small resort that was beautifully landscaped, felt a little like you were in the jungle. It was quiet off the beaten path. We felt very safe. Everyone was so friendly and you got to know everyone. Food at the Beach Grill was great. There are a couple more restaurants in walking distance that are also good. We took Kayak and paddle boards out to the Reef. We even took them over to Dolphins and watched the dolphins. My daughter and I run everyday and found plenty of beach, dirt and paved roads to run on. All and All it was an Amazing Little place.

The Blue Bahia Resort is a small, beautiful place that is set among tropical gardens directly on the beach. The condos are efficient and have everything you need and more. Housekeeping everyday with fresh towels was a plus. The restaurant is great. Staff is excellent- very kind, helpful and courteous. They go out of their way to help, or ask if you need anything. We hope to visit again sometime.

It should be noted that the need for taxis to get around from Sandy Bay is necessary. Taxis are expensive in Roatán. We should have rented a car, although parking is extremely limited.

The place was ok. Sulema, did a fantastic job everyday tidying up the rooms and kitchen, she made sure we always had fresh towels and a clean floor. The last two days they started renovations on our roof and 7am Was not happy about that. We were on sandy bay beach. It was infected with sand fleas, but the resort was well equipped with bug spray. Overall, the vacation was average. We but definitely go back to Roatan but maybe stay somewhere else. There was not a resort. No nightly entertainment. This is like a motel kinda place. Affordable and just a place to sleep

Becca and her staff were so helpful and wonderful for our entire trip. It is not in the middle of the tourist trap areas, but they are close if you want to go visit. So, if you are seeking the busy hustle bustle- you can get to west end in 5-10 minutes and a $10 taxi drive. It is right off the reef and we used a kayak to go visit the reef and it was very nice. The restaurant on site had awesome food, and the staff personalities were 10/10. Becca offered names of drivers she worked with and we utilized Libby and he was also great! I always felt safe, and I always felt welcomed by the locals. Becca also sent out a daily message with things going on the island that day, and she was always available for questions during the day.

The dive shop was also great, and our rentals were in good condition for snorkeling.

My only negative comment is that our condo was slightly musty. We are both very mold sensitive- but this is the likely price you pay next to the water. I took a daily allergy med and Benadryl at night and was just fine.

Great spot at Sandy Bay

We spent a week in the Sunset View 2. It was unseasonably rainy but the big balcony looking right at the sea framed by swaying palms made it hard to leave to go do other things in Roatan. Blue Bahia is a charming, small resort with a dive shop and beach grill. It almost feels like a tiny village. We ate breakfasts and several lunches and dinners at the grill, walked to a fine dining restaurant a few times just down the beach, and to an excellent spa also practically next door. We were a 5 minute drive from West End and only a few more to West Bay. You can kayak out to the reef straight ahead and snorkel. The weather didn’t really cooperate with us to do that until we were leaving but next time for sure.

Stayed 3 nights at the Blue Bahia and it was a good stay about which we really have no complaints. Pre-stay communication was excellent. Our driver was at the airport waiting for us and took us to Eldon's as arranged - super-nice guy. The way it worked out, we stayed 2 nights in the Sunset View 2 and 1 in the Sea View. Sunset View is a nice unit over the bar & grill - great deck and view of the water and convenient to the beach and to dine. The only real issue with that room is that the AC is in the bedroom, so the living area gets warm. Recommended if it's available. The Sea View is definitely a step down as a studio with a very old sofa bed and an odd layout. An upside is that this small space has 2 AC units, both of which worked well once we puzzled out the remotes. We found the Blue Bahia Beach Grill to be pretty good, if a bit uneven, and the staff was very nice and helpful, but a bit unattentive at times. Probably the meal highlights were the lobster and the Monkey La La - very good here, especially with an extra shot of Creme de Cocoa. We spent a lot of time on the water, paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. The reef here is easily accessible - a short paddle away - and provides some good fish viewing opportunities inside the reef. A bit more work gets you outside it over deeper water and the scenery here is quite a bit better - well worth the effort. Boat traffic wasn't too bad. Working with on-site Sandy Bay Divers was easy. Management is pleasant to work with.

What a gem!

This place was fantastic! It had everything you needed so you wouldn’t need to go off property! The owners were very communicative via WHATS app and made check in super quick so we could start enjoying our vacation. The food and drinks were awesome. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip! A huge shout out to all the staff as they were very warm and called us each by our name .. we felt at home.

My friend and I were here and couldn’t have been more pleased with Blue Bahia. Mostly the staff being so incredibly friendly, accommodating, attentive and full of great information. The grounds are kept well and our condo was clean and had everything we needed. If we needed anything, it just took a quick message and they were on it. We attended a wedding at a much more expensive resort on the island and the staff there couldn’t compare to Blue Bahia. Thank you so much for such a fun stay, we truly felt like a part of the community after we left.

The owners and staff are wonderful people. Warm, friendly, super accommodating, helpful. Small boutique feel to hotel. Guests are friendly. Access to diving super convenient.
The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is that there’s no closet or drawers to put stuff away, and the bathroom faucets are corroded and some of the hooks were missing, shelf wasn’t attached well enough to hold any products.
There’s a nice fridge and kitchen which was well equipped if you like to cook, or make breakfast etc. I liked the breakfast at the restaurant and it was included so we didn’t use it.
I liked the balcony with view of the beach and the hammock!
Restaurant bar onsite open all day and has free breakfast. Has some vegetarian options.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Blue Bahia. Communication through What's App made it so easy to get there and anywhere we wanted to go. Josh, Kim, Becca and Adam are the most caring and fun family. They treat everyone also like family, and made us feel right at home. The bar and dinner staff were also like family. Love moved in here and I highly recommend you contact them directly as well if you have any questions. Christy and John also like family, at the Dive shop were excellent in assisting us to go snorkeling the reef, as the boats go out every day from their dock. We felt very safe, and comfortable, and will return and recommend others find Blue Bahia.

We had a great stay at the Blue Bahia. They live the motto: Come as a guest and leave as family. The owners took care of every need and communicated well. The food and servers are also fabulous. Area is a little remote and off the beaten path, but great for couples and relaxation. We are not divers, but most guests were and took adbantage of the onsite dive shop.

The low score is for the area more than the hotel. The hotel staff/owners and the general condition and service from the hotel was good but the beach here is an actual road and the sea is not swimmable. The road diverts onto the beach so on a narrow strip of sand there are 4x4s and motorbikes. The sea is shallow with sea grass so can’t swim in shallows but boats make swimming further out dangerous so really not swimmable. More specifically regarding hotel my room (seaside) was sold as sea view but all I could see was a strip of sea through buildings. On site dive shop is excellent. So great place to stay if you want to dive. Restaurant was okay.

I like the menu and the food and drink, the people there were super nice and treated you like family and friends learned your name right away. The room was nice and clean the cleaning staff very attentive the only negatives I could see was there was a broken blind and the shower drains slower probably because of sand in it. It's a great Beach for walking but you couldn't really swim.

A great family run business. This is a small place, right on the beach, far enough away from the crowded West End, but close enough for a cheap taxi ride if you want to go. Our room was clean, well taken care of and about 15' from the dive shop, 20' to the bar, 40' to the restaurant and 100' to the beach. The staff at the bar and restaurant are all extremely friendly and work to make sure you have a great time. Highly recommended. Just go........

The property in great conditions. We stayed in the Wave suit in front of the pool which was great for our girls, being that they would take advantage and use the pool at night. Food in the restaurant was delicious. We recommend the lobster special on Wednesdays. Service was great all thorough out. Rebecca was great with communication, being that we were unable to get to the island during the original check in date due to inclement weather. She was patient and provided us with options. The entire family is great. They live on premises and are always there making sure the guests feel welcome and have all they need. Will definitely return.

Magical place. You are treated like part of a private club. You are not a room number. Owners live in site which makes them available for your needs all the time . After a day sight-seeing it was so refreshing to have a dip in the pool and make our way to the restaurant for a great meal. Unique wood cabins individually carved and decorated in sea animal decor. The bar staff was super fun and friendly and everyone made it eady to find activities in the area. The pool was center of all the two story structures and clean with a stone waterfall.

The hotel is beautiful! If you want to stay further away from the tourists and feel apart of the island, Blue Bahia is the place!
Hosts are the most welcoming and helpful I have ever experienced, nothing was too much to ask! All our taxis and covid tests were sorted for us, and they provided recommendations daily.

Room was big, handy to have a kitchen and lovely bathroom.

Easy walk to diving places. You can't really swim or snorkel directly out the hotel so bare in mind if that is essential to you.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Bahia Resort in Sandy Bay for a week in late May, and we could not have been more pleased with our choice of where to stay for our first visit to the beautiful island of Roatán. This property is a gem---incredible location right on the beach, with both a wonderful restaurant (the Beach Grill) and dive shop (Sandy Bay Divers) right onsite. But beyond the excellent value and convenience of amenities offered here, the Blue Bahia's number one asset, imho, is their ownership team. Kim and Josh care about their guests, first and foremost, and go over and beyond to ensure that their guests are comfortable and satisfied. They have pride in their ownership and it shows.

The owners/staff were the nicest people! Someone was always available if we had any questions or needed anything. The Island Loft room was spacious and had two bathrooms which was an added bonus as we thought it only had one. We didn’t need to book any outside snorkeling excursions as the owner was able to take us out for a much smaller fee. The bar/restaurant was very convenient as it was only a few steps from our room. The location was perfect as it was not far from West Bay. The gas station/convenience store and grocery store were close by as well. Definitely recommend checking out this property!

We only stayed 1 night before flying out to US. The owners, Josh and Kim were wonderful! From picking up at the ferry, during the stay, arranging for onsite COVID testing and transportation to the airport - all was smooth. Communication was excellent - they created a WhatsApp group with us and were very responsive to requests. We stayed in Sunset 1 - was very well appointed and clean. Deck was wonderful. Highly recommend this property.

The staff is amazing and as a diver the Sandy Bay dive shop is right on site and so convenient. The beach grille restaurant on site and the staff is truly remarkable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is a wonderful little resort. Josh and Kim are so welcoming and you feel like part of the family as soon as you walk on the property. There is a great diving company and restaurant right on site with many other options nearby. Anthony's is right next door with fantastic Dolphin encounters and West End is just a few miles down the road if you want some night life.

quiet safe place, you will be treated like you are the only guest there. staff all friendly, clean place, restaurant awesome, reasonably priced food and drinks, great Diving center with great staff on site. beach is swimmable but you wont get the white sandy beaches. but its worth being in a private location. I will be staying there again when I visit next time for sure! Cheryl.... your the best!

Everything was great with my stay at Blue bahia very peaceful, a lot of activities are close by. Everyone who worked there was polite and were attentive on amy3thing i needed. If you want a peaceful Vaca this is a great place to stay at. On site Bar great food.
