The resort was exactly what we hoped it would be- small but nice. Staff were absolutely amazing- extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in a beach front villa and would definitely go back. Only negatives- expect to lose power periodically and plan ahead for dinner because they take the reservation system very serious. Don't miss the bandearas at the breakfast buffet- they're the best!!

My family of 3 stayed in a family suite, which I assumed would accommodate all of us. We were given 2 towels a day so I requested additional towels, only to find they took them from us during housekeeping and replaced again with 2. The TV didn't work from day one of a 5 day stay. We had no internet ever and were told they would get it fixed. The family suite was on the outside of the resort directly across from a construction site, not a great view. The \"buffet\" consisted of the same food day after day for each meal and not a lot of variety for picky eaters. The restaurant had a nice variety, but what you saw on day one lasted throughout the week. Overall, for a high end resort, I do not feel we got our money's worth nor support from the staff.

Stephanie (Bartender) and Kim (Pizza Man) were nice! In spite of working long hours, Stephanie always had a smile on her face and cracked fun jokes with me. Kim was very cordial and professional!
This is the only hotel with everything included. That is key if you want a worry free vacation. It was very convenient!

This resort is on a beautiful beach. The shuttle service from the airport was chaotic. Check in was ok. The attendant checking us in was checking in another couple at the same time. Thorough explanation about the resort. Frank was very friendly and carried our bags to an upper level villa. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. Ceiling fan on balcony would have been perfect. Food was good with variety. Temperature of food was not always good. Great barista in buffet restaurant and the young men kept dirty plates cleared and provided drinks and always with a smile. Service in San Simone were excellent. We had excellent bartenders although some were quicker than others. Stephanie was exceptional in Macou as were William and Kevin in the restaurant bar. Beach chairs were in abundance. Our room was close to the resort next door and at times, very noisy. Stephanie at the reception desk was very helpful and made our niece’s birthday reservations very special. She was good to all of us. Shuttle to airport somewhat better than from airport. Sunsets did not disappoint. Great fire show on the beach. Snorkeling at the point was good.

I had a wonderful two week stay in April 2026. The Las Sirenas room was large, always clean and well-equipped although I couldn't make the safe work. The wi-fi in the room was good, the TV had quite a few channels in English, but the channel with the hockey games was constantly freezing. Not there to watch TV anyway. AC worked well and was much appreciated. The high temps all 14 days were either 28 or 29 and the overnight 'lows' either 27 or 28 !! The pools are warm and nearly always empty as everyone is at the beach. And what a beach ! Soft on the feet sand all the way out until you're floating. The buffet was good with theme nights, some better than others. Fresh made to order omelets every morning were excellent especially when made by the guy with the small beard. The a la cartes were awesome, beach club surf and turf was the best steak I've had in Latin America ! The drinks were always freshly made and served quickly. It may be that April is not their peak season, it seemed as though the hotel wasn't full so there was lots of staff, lots of food and seats in the buffet, lots of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach.

Disappointments

The hotel has private events that close areas of the resort and go on, at high volume, until quite late. The wedding went until 1 am.

The hotel sells day passes to people on cruise ships in the harbor. They fill up a section of the beach squeezing the hotel guests into the remaining area.

I stayed in a beach front room that made access to the sand and sea very easy. The staff kept small totes of fresh water near you door so you could rinse the sand off before entering and tracking it into you villa. The pools were clean and beautiful giving you a nice place to cool off with plenty of covered places to rest in the shade. The location of the Dive shop and the restaurants made them easy to find and get around. The beach was raked and cleaned each morning. The downside for me was it is listed as a non smoking resort and even posted with signs but this was not enforced at all. The smell of cigarettes, cigars and even weed often would permeate areas including my room. Overall the experience was good and I would recommend this to others.

Beautiful property. The food times are limited and can be repetitive. The beach is one of the nicest I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many! Wonderful staff! Extremely clean! The pool area, at night is breathtaking! Bring an insulated cup with you AND a reusable straw!!!! A rashguard will be especially helpful….the sun is brutal.

The place is very clean, the room is cleaned daily unless you prefer privacy. The air conditioning helped keep cool during the middle of the day, and bottled water (5 gallon dispensers) is provided everywhere (including 1/2 gallon bottled water in the room). Sheets and bed fixtures are high quality.
Now the staff is the highlight of the Mayan Princess. They are all adorned in crisp clean uniforms, welcome you each day, and are extremely professional. each member went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed my stay. Note: I had issues with my phone, and over the days it took to resolve the issue, the staff accommodated me using company phones, and getting staff to take my phone for repairs. Laundry service was excellent, and the on site massage therapy was convenient. Overall the staff was stellar, and it's the warm feeling that will bring me back again. I can go on all-day to explain how amazing the beach, the water, sand domestic plant and animal life improve the overall relaxation you feel when you visit a beautiful beach Compared to other tropical Caribbean beaches I've visited the coral sand here is softer, the water is clearer each day and overall pleasant for walking on barefoot (even if there is a 30 minute rain). I did visit each restaurant/bar(s) on site and each had it's own charm local specialty drinks with informative staff to explain history of the area, the drinks, culture, mangroves, etc. It is an overall wonderful place to visit and then visit again.

My wife and I spent a week here for our anniversary. Our room was right on the beach and was perfect for us. We enjoyed the food at the buffet and the specialty restaurants were great as well. The nightly entertainment was a little lacking but was not an issue. We felt safe and did not have any worry of our things being stolen from our beach chairs. Beware of the unsolicited tour offers from the beach tour salesman. They all appear to work for the same company but pricing varies from salesman to salesman. The beach vendors are out there in full force and will aprroach multiple times per day. Drink waiters at the beach were sparse and we usually just got our own drinks from the bar, but they are close by. The last full day we were there the power was out for a few hours during the morning and on our last night, the power was off and on for several hours between 2 and 5 am. Overall, I would stay at this property again.

Had a wonderful vacation at the Mayan Princess. The room was super nice and the food was pretty good for buffet all inclusive. 13 days and didn't really get tired of the menu. The beach was very clean but very busy as expected. The reef was awesome with hours of snorkeling new areas.
The one complaint about West Bay is that all the water taxis, dive boats, and tour boats were constantly driving around and many were 2-stroke outboards to the smell of gas and exhaust was sometimes pretty bad.

I’m not someone who usually takes the time to write reviews, but my experience at the Mayan Princess impacted me in a way I didn’t expect—and I felt like I had to share it.

From the moment I arrived, something felt different. It wasn’t just that the place is beautiful (which it is), or that everything was clean and well-kept. It was the people. There was a genuine warmth in how I was welcomed—like I wasn’t just another guest checking in, but someone they were truly happy to see.

Throughout my stay, that feeling never went away. The staff remembered my name, checked in on me, and always made sure I had what I needed. I’ve stayed at other all-inclusive resorts before, and while they were nice, this felt more personal. More human.

It created a family-like atmosphere that made it easy to relax and just enjoy being there. Traveling solo, that meant a lot. I never felt out of place or alone. Some of those staff members that stood out were Stefeny, Victor
and Brittany. Then when one of the tour guides unexpectedly canceled my pre-booked tour, the staff were able to find me a private tour guide for about the same price that was exceptional. His name was Big Daddy and knows everything and everybody. I highly recommend him if you’re going to be on the island ([email protected]).

The resort itself is peaceful, the beach is beautiful, everything you’d want in a getaway is there—but what truly sets this place apart is the heart behind it. The food is delicious as well.

The pool and jacuzzi were really nice. Rated a little bit lower because the rooms are a little outdated but are still very clean. We booked two room for our family and they put us in separate buildings, which was not ideal. We loved the buffet and restaurant food. Usually buffet food is pretty bad but we liked everything we had, the meat was cooked well and all of their sauces were yummy. The beach was perfect and the workers would put up umbrellas for us. Drinks were strong and the workers were very friendly.

Property was very clean , well kept . Room was cleaned daily and a/c worked well . Really noce pool except had many small blue tiles missing from the bottom . Food was good at the restaurants but the buffed was a little small and always a long line at the egg/omelet station . Also there was only bacon on Friday ,, I love bacon , lol . Beach was awesome , clean , perfect water . Never found any servers to bring drinks on the beach but the bar was close by .
Security was great and had police presence on the beach every day , never felt unsafe .

\"I wanted to share feedback on my recent stay at your hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were fantastic! The 'All Inclusive package' was a great value, but the food quality didn't quite match up. Specifically, the bread and pizza options felt repetitive and stale, and the salad bar was often depleted without timely refills.

Guests were looking to let loose, but the vibe fell flat 🙁. One night of entertainment isn't enough – live music or shows can really make the experience.

On the bright side, the beach was stunning and truly relaxing 😊. To elevate the experience, I'd love to see more varied and freshly prepared food options, and live music or entertainment . Hope this helps enhance future guests' stays!\"

Upon arrival I was told that my room had been changed, which surprised me but as I first time resort goer I didn’t think much of it. I was pleasantly surprised by the literal 2-bedroom villa they gave me, beautiful all around.

The food was 10/10 and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. Watching the sunset at the beach was quite the experience, I was however a bit disappointed by the smells but I understand they had just dealt with sargassum.

For this to be my first time at a resort I would absolutely go back.

We had horrible weather so we spent a lot of time trapped in the resort itself. Without the opportunity to dive or snorkel, there wasn’t much to do. However, the staff was real friendly and they hustled to help when we had a couple breaks in the weather to help us enjoy the beach. The food was okay but we went there for the experience and not the food. The experience was worth it. There were quite a few guests who stayed for 3 months which told us that the place is worth the commitment. The room was spotless and we were happy with the daily housekeeping.

Our roof leaked onto the bedroom side table where my husband has his electronics. The room showed a lot of wear. The staff was not attentive to our sick friend who needed assistance after hours.

Great resort. Have been to Mexico 25+ times, so lots of all inclusive experience. Food was great! Buffet was smaller than Mexico resorts, but fresh and good. Al a cartes were hit and miss, but fun.

Booze much better than our last few trips to Mexico. Lots of choices. Does not seem to be watered down. Hotel does need to do better stocking sparkling wine. Ran out often.

We were in smallest rooms and they were good. Beach was good. Our only problem: so. Much. Rain. But can’t blame that on the hotel!

We will be back…during dry season.

The resort is small and very clean. They said it was busy but it was not crowded, no issues with dinner reservations or spa bookings. No problem getting beach loungers, umbrellas or pool chairs or cabanas. The staff was kind and some spoke english. The room was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. The bed was comfortable. Our biggest issue was with food. There is one buffet, with short hours. There are two restaurants to make reservations. Neither was stellar and the food was hit or miss as to whether it came out hot, warm or cold. The menus are fairly similar, with mostly the same offerings. The desserts were horrible. The snacks available during the day consisted of popcorn, chili beans, really bad pizza, fishsticks, dry beef empanadas and chicken tacos which were like taquitos. We stayed pretty hungry and there is one expensive grocery store, at the end of the beach. I can't speak for the diving. They only had one guy at the beach and this is their high season. We never saw kayaks available. The vendors were present but not annyoying. The beach is gorgeous but the dive boats are parked out front, at all times. I never saw one go out, but they must have. I chose this resort for the good food reviews, but i did not find them to be adequate. If you can survive on cerviche, though, you might be ok. Check in and check out were excellent, as was the shuttle to and from the airport.

We had a great stay at Mayan! The staff was friendly and helpful. The views and beach access were incredible. We had a beachfront room and it was perfection!

Staff are friendly & hard working but this place is a 2.5 The entire property is in dire need of a refresh. Could be so much better! Food…meh
Drinks, very good! We ate 3 dinners out as well as a few breakfasts.
Crappy cheesecloth thin towels in rooms & for the beach you’re in competition with cruise ship day trippers - good luck. Beach was very narrow & you're constantly bothered by folks selling things. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit when we stayed & if you were not already in your room you got soaked trying to get there. Can’t control Mother Nature but geeezzz NYE celebration made it impossible to get back to our room without going off property & mukking thru while getting soaked
Saw insects coming in below our door, saw rats @ night, and there were bats nesting on the 2nd fl
rafters. Not the kind of wildlife I wanted to see!
I will be contacting property and/or Expedia for some sort of compensation.

Entertainment was poor all 3 nights and four days. Food at main restaurant was great, but came out very slowly. No amenities, music was slow and Low. It was clean and the beach was great. The massages beyond the grounds were cheap. You can negotiate. The ocean was fun. They cooked up a fish I caught. That was nice. The rooms were clean.

This was my first experience in Roatan and I’m afraid it has spoiled me! The property is well maintained and beautiful. There are several resorts, one after another, and this one is just as pretty as some of the more expensive ones on the end of the island.

Also, **You must have cash on hand for tipping just about everyone**
I did not know this and it became a problem when I ran out of cash on day 2…

Anyway, the buffet options are wonderful. There is a theme for dinner each night so it’s not the same foods over and over. Not having to worry about my meals was a huge relief. Apparently the buffet is $30 if purchased separately per meal.

The rooms were cleaned daily. The resort website recommended tipping the cleaning staff $3-4 daily, but I only stumbled upon that by accident. Plan accordingly.

The beach area is beautiful and well set up. You will be able to exchange your towel daily and have an umbrella set up for you, but you should tip this gentleman as well since he maintains his area. I think there are 2 of them that split this duty. Mayan has a lot of beach space in front of it, unlike Infinity and Kimpton and a few others in that direction which are basically falling into the ocean—meaning the tide comes right up to the resort, so there isn’t a lot of space for chairs AND people traffic.

Staff is really nice and very attentive. I felt safe. There are shops within walking distance. You can snorkel on the reef just by walking down the beach a ways. Top notch!

The location of Mayan Princess is on the best part of West Bay Beach. The beach was amazing, saw lots of starfish right from the beach. Snorkeling off the beach was great. The resort itself was very nice but the rooms need updating. Buffet food was decent. The staff was all very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. Would definitely go back to Mayan Princess.

Very nice stay. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Helped out a lot when I had questions. The quality of the food and drinks were great. The resort has a nice set up with the free airport shuttles. The resort had nice pools and is located directly on the beach. The diving was incredible and it was nice to walk right out of the hotel room and just a short walk to boat which took me to scuba dive sites. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
