A risk. Keep looking.

Location is central but a bit awkward due to construction. Didn’t love the immediate area alone at night. Had to walk through construction to get to any places to eat. Bed was very comfortable and space was stylish. My air didn’t work and it was stifling in the room. Shower overflowed dramatically as the drain was stopped. Hair drying did not work. I attempted to “dial 9” for reception three times for more towels but there was no answer. In the morning the person at reception did not seem to believe my concerns. This was only one night so I kept moving. I have noticed that in response to previous reviews, management offers apologies that appear to put responsibility on the guest’s unreasonable expectations, but no accountability or apology. There are other places to stay with less hassle.

Very clean property; very close to bus and train station. 10-15min pleasant walk to beach/restaurant areas. Beside a lovely park. Rooms huge with nice toiletries and big shower. No tea/coffee making facilities. Didn’t try hotel breakfast.

This was our third hotel in San Sebastian and our least favorite. There was no parking on site and it was expensive to park about a 10 minute walk away. I should have noted this before booking. The hallway carpet was quite dirty. There were no good restaurants in the area.
On the good side, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were large.

Hotel lobby just a desk in a converted Tobacco factory. That said the room we were allocated 110
on the ground floor. No direct view from the windows as the cills are 2mts high but loads of daylight (sky).
All clean throughout. The very high ceilings / windows had very heavy curtains, one of which, the blackout liner was broken. We were assured we would not be charged for the damage done previously.

We asked for a kettle but advised no cups available (nor tea / coffee)

Breakfast (extra) was served in the basement by a seperate catering company . All food was served in jars. Different but quite nice!?!

Asked receptionist if there were any nearby restaurants as the old town is a good 20min walk away (and as it was raining). We were informed No. She failed to suggest a nice restaurant/ bar on the 5th floor of the same building.....
I don't think she wanted to be there....
Not sure I'd return....
Don't let that put you off San Sebastian...!

The hotel is located only about a 10 minute walk from Old Town and 20 minutes from La Concha beach which is ideal, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly and dealt with all of our needs. The hotel breakfast was always extremely fresh and is sustainability focussed. My only negative about the hotel is that it is located in quite a loud neighbourhood and was not the best place to walk through late at night

Loved the hotel, not located in the old city but is a walking distance from there (15-10 min). Really quiet area, and very easy to arrive from the train station. Very clean, big and comfortable rooms, staff very nice. Breakfast is really cool and recommended.

Trendy and spacious but a little bit down-at-heel

This hotel looks great in photos and has clearly been designed to catch the eye of those who like on-trend hotels, but once you arrive it all starts to feel a bit disappointing.

Immediately on entering the room it was clear that the facilities were kept clean and tidy but were not well maintained. There were numerous marks on the walls, the hard flooring is very badly scuffed and worn, and the staircase decoration was damaged. Upstairs on the mezzanine, there were stains on the sofa and marks on the desk. Also there was spilt coffee stains on the bedside table.

The bathroom was very clean, but again there was minor superficial wear/damage to the mirror shelf.

The bed was clean and comfortable, but the curtains were a bit of a let down, allowing in just enough light to wake you up from both the corridor and outside, no matter how we arranged them.

The layout of the room looks great in photos but could have been done in a much more practical way, by having the bed on the mezzanine and a larger living area. This would allow more wardrobe and drawer space and would have been a space big enough to open our large suitcase. With the current arrangement we were only just able to do this in the passageway. Also, the choice of noisy metal drawers that catch on a metal wardrobe frame in a hotel was just plain stupid. The drawers were so loud whenever they were opened that I could hear when our neighbours were getting dressed!

Overall this is a decent hotel, but not great.

Pros: modern, some staffs are nice, some are not.

Cons: late check in time. From 2pm, it became to 5pm because room was not ready.
room 110 aircondition is dysfunctional. It turns on but doesnt cool the room.
We complained first night and they said they cant do anything about it because they are fullly booked. They would have given a refund but i booked through hotels.com so they cant.. so they promised to have it fix the next day. On 2nd night, we still had the same issues. so i complained to hotels.com and they contacted the property and was told they are not willing to give a refund or any compensation for the mishap..

If you plan to book this hotel, think twice. If i were you, book elsewhere. Location isnt that convenient either.

Room was spacious but housekeeping didn’t do a good job cleaning the room. It is very dusty and a lot of mosquitoes/bugs. However the reception was helpful. Only thing is they claimed that they are 24/7 but most of the time you can’t find them.

The hotel location is perfect. Central and very close to Coach station. It’s next to beautiful Maria Cristina park. The staff at reception are friendly and polite.
I’ve stayed here a few times and as long as the prices remain reasonable I’ll keep staying at this hotel on my Donostia visits.

An impersonal hotel in a beautiful city

One Shot Tabakalera is a nice hotel but it lacks warmth. The lobby (or what passes for it) is impersonal and does not encourage the guests to mingle as the seating consists of a long bench along a wall facing another wall. And while the bed was very comfortable, the room itself was not. For example, the safe was placed at the bottom of the closet forcing one to kneel down the hard concrete floor to use it. Who thought of that? No one who ever intended to use it! And if a hotel decides to only provide liquid bath gel why not provide a wash cloth to use it? Without a wash cloth it is hard, if not impossible, to wash with a liquid gel as the shower washes it off one’s hands immediately.

Overpriced average hotel in overrated city

Very noisy room due to poor insulation.
Overpriced hotel as everything else in San Sebastian.
Next to bus/train station convenient for further travel
But quite a distance from old town by 20-30mn walk.
We should have stayed just one night instead of 4. Perhaps we were disappointed with SS as overrated after we 've been to gorgeous french basque region next door.
Only thing we liked was basque people we met are friendly, helpful and unpretentious, esp. outside of old town.

This is not a four star hotel; 2.5 at best. Inconveniently located for anything but the train station...20 minutes walk to all the cool tavernas and beaches. Mold in the shower, dirty carpets, incomplete linens, no waters in the room except the mini bar, inconvenient and expensive parking... and diffident service with a snotty attitude. San Sebastian is a great place and there are better places to stay

The hotel is very well located to get to San Sebastian by bus. You can walk to the hotel, almost right next door. The staff is super friendly. The hotel extra clean and very well decorated(modern).
Definetily will consider this as my first option, next time I am in town.

Poor location. Hotel foyer and our ground floor room stank of sewerage. Attempt by house keeping to mask the smell by using a strong detergent made things worse! Changed room to second floor. Better but not great. Breakfast extremely poor. Went to the nearby coffee shop instead. Hotel very expensive compared to other hotels in Spain that we stayed at and not nearly as good. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

Great hotel next to train/bus station and Gros!

Happy to stay here for several reasons. 1) Next to the bus/train station. Makes all the difference for your first time in San Sebastian whether you arrive/depart early morning, late night, or on a rainy day like we did. 2) Next to the Gros neighborhood where we found amazing pinxos (better than the historic core). 3) You're also a short walk and bridge to the historic neighborhood too! 4) The bed is so comfortable! 4) No need to depend on bus or taxi since everything is a short walk from the hotel.

Keep in mind that it's in the Tabakalera building. Our room faced a bright light from outside but the drapes were helpful. And it's on a main street so you may hear noises from outside if you're a light sleeper. Overall, we were happy to stay here because it made our stay in San Sebastian easy and delightful.

Lovely stay in the very cool and modern One Shot. The location is a good 15 minutes from the old town (where the majority of Pintxos bars are) but wee knew that and liked the area. We had a free room upgrade and the staff were really lovely. There was no coffee or tea in the room but we were brought a kettle when we asked which was great.

I had a nice stay at this really nice looking hotel, love the design in the room and in the common areas! The rooms are a little bit on the smaller side but have high ceilings and a french balcony, plus the bed was super comfy!

The staff was very friendly and helpful which made us feel very welcome.
the downside to staying here is that the rooms are not very soundproof so you can easily hear people outside and people walking around in adjacent rooms or in the hallway.

Hotel has good location next to train station and easy access to Old Town but lacks any charm or character. It is very sterile and the basement breakfast room and selection of food and beverage can only be described as \"sad\". What a depressing room.

Not great value for price, but might work good for someone looking for overnight stay walking distance from train station.

The location is really great. I loved being part of the museum complex! For the price I expected a bit more in terms of details-- a magnifying mirror, in room coffee machine. The pillows were super high loft making it hard to sleep and they did not have any alternative. But the rooms were quiet -- and I appreciated that.

Handy location for travel. Nice to be away from Old Town as well but easy walking distance. Rooms are pretty bare which I think is supposed to pass as artistic but really gives more of a Bolivian jail cell vibe. WIFI broke down as well as my TV remote but you didn’t come here to watch TV and be on your phone. So nice enough and probably helping fund adjacent art gallery so worth a stay.

Lovely hotel with impressive architecture, very friendly/helpful staff (particularly with recommending restaurants, booking taxis). Location was good, only 15 minute walk to old town or beaches, and it was nice to be able to walk off the tapas. Beds were very comfortable and the interior design was very cool. It was in a very arty building which had lots of events going on. They provided lots of random toiletries which was nice. Air con was perfect!

Room for improvement: Breakfast is very small/expensive, in underground room - this could be better in light of where it was (food epicentre of Spain). We used it as a reason to go out for breakfast which was nice though. Gym is very small (but it did have weights which was a nice touch, and was enough for my needs). Cleaning could have been a bit better- we removed bedding after a few days expecting it to be replaced and they just put the same bedding back on. Curtains don't shut properly so got woken up by the light most mornings. There was no bottled water in the rooms, nor room service after 11pm (which would have been helpful as we arrived very late). Finally, we had a flight cancelled on the way there and hence weren't able to use our first night's stay - whilst I appreciate the hotel was not obliged to give us a refund, it would have been nice if they had made some kind of gesture anyway as the cancellation was totally out of our control.

In general, very nice hotel, but if it improved on a few things it could be superb.

Perfect Stay in San Sebastian!

We really enjoyed Tabakalera House! While other reviewers have stated, it's not directly in Old Town San Sebastian, but it's a beautiful 15 walk from everything you need. It was nice to be a little outside the hustle and bustle of the city and see a different side of the city during our walks. I don't think we ever took a cab anywhere but if we had it would have only been about $7 USD I believe. The hotel is beautiful, in a really cool area, staff was super friendly, easy parking and everything was clean and perfect! Highly recommend.

Nice, new hotel in Donostia

Hotel is very clean and conveniently located, with great modern design touches. We appreciated the amenities (robes, toiletries, etc) and the high ceilings. One slightly strange thing is the smell of the cleaning products (super sanitary smell pervades), but that is a small detail. Parking is not included, though they give a discount at a local parking lot. Overall, a good choice for business/pleasure travelers.

Location couldn't be better.

The hotel is on the other side of the cultural centre in a huge building that was once a tobacco factory.
It has a quirky vibe with a slightly offputting industrial fit out(concrete and wooden flooring).The room had a very high ceiling with a window so high up you couldn't look out.The bed was comfortable with almost no room for a chair. The bathroom was fine with a good walkin shower but the sliding door of the bathroom had a tendency to slide open.
The staff were lovely and helpful, particularly Jaione at reception and Antz in the breakfast room.Breakfast was very basic( no fresh milk) and we had a canteen type dinner one night.There are lots of fantastic cafes , restaurants and bars within walking distance so dinner not recommended.
In summary, great location and staff but the hotel wouldn't be to everyone's liking.

A couple of small things - all channels are Spanish speaking (although this is common in Spain) so some Sky channels would be good. Corridor leading to the rooms didn’t seem to have AC so would get hot. Small things! Would definitely stay here again

Nice hotel away from main tourist area

stayed for 3 nights...loved the room...comfortable bed...nice seating area....we did not have breakfast...but what we saw of the breakfast buffet on the 1st morning looked fairly uninspiring and put us off going back. Parking is some 200m away in a subsidised car park. Housekeeping were very zealous in their attempts to service the room! annoyingly so!

Loved it!

This hotel is about a 10-15 min walk from the old town. We loved its location and enjoyed the stroll into town. Staff were fantastic, room spacious and bed super comfortable. At last a hotel with a decent hairdryer!! Would definitely stay here again

Pretentious Office Block Conversion

Difficult to locate due to lack of signage on the front of the building.
Impossible to know where to park when Registering, again no signage.and as a disabled driver this was a nightmare. Having found a disabled parking space further down the road and walked to the Hotel we found the entrance with difficulty, registered and asked where the Parking was.We were informed that you either found a space somewhere in the streets or went to a underground car park a block away.As we were reluctant to leave the car full of luggage in a public street we used the underground park.Then we had to walk back to the Hotel carrying our overnight luggage. At no point did anyone help us to find the garage or assist us with our luggage.
The Hotel itself looked as if it had been decorated with a load of scrap inside, the room seemingly made up of old copper pipes decorating the walls and ceiling, awful slate floor in the bathroom, a TV with only Spanish channels, a four poster bed (sic) made up of steel piping painted black.
The Restaurant looked like a Youth Hostel with strange pieces of scrap furniture scattered around

Hotel with focus on design off the beaten track

Cool rooms with a very comfortable bed and huge bathroom.
Not really centrally located as it is well behind the train station and connected through an u derground tunnel in front of the train station. This wasn’t obvious to us on arrival. About a 15-20 min walk into the old Part of the city or the beaches. Restaurant on site was pretty limited. There are a few shops and restaurants nearby but you are better off walking to Gros or the Parte Vieja. Staff was helpful. Right next to a beautiful park (CristinaEnea). The wholeTabakalera concept is cool with a focus on Basque Culture. Great concerts etc right in the building

Comfortable stay

Not as fabulous as pictures would lead you to believe, rooms were quite small with limited natural light. However, still a lovely and very comfortable stay with very nice service. Walking distance from everything, right next door to train station.

Great modern hotel

The hotel was really nice and modern/stylish and we were really comfortable there, its a bit out of the main drag but only a pleasant 10 mins walk and its so hectic in the old town that we preferred this.
The reception staff were super unfriendly - they didn't acknowledge you anytime you walked in - even though you had to walk right past them and didn't make any effort to make you feel particularly welcome. The cleaning staff on contrast however were lovely and really cheerful and chatty.

Stylish hotel with convenient location

A nice boutique hotel located next to the train station. Rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. Staff are friendly. Check in and check out are efficient.

Fantastic hotel.

Great hotel with beautiful rooms, stayed in the duplex. Would definitely recommend. It is about a 15 minute walk to the attractions but worth it to stay in this hotel.
