Terrible hotel. Mattress was full of stains from previous guests most likely having sexual relations, leaving their sperm on the mattress, completely dirty. Mattress looked like from First World War. No breakfast was available at all. I trusted previous reviews but did not expect it the be ground zero hotel. I will never stay there and it was waste of money.

This is a charming little hotel. Everything is functioning properly. It is not too far from the bus station. Unfortunately, they have closed their restaurant and bar. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay there again.

Room with poor view

Check in was fine and room clean. Theue waz a mug on the table however there was no kettle & tea/coffee. The balcony looked out to an overgrown garden and two run down tower blocks.

The bathroom was clean with a powerful shower over the bath.

Better than a hostel?

This hotel has the basics just fine. The couch is very hard to be used as a third bed, but the beds in the bedroom were very soft and comfortable. Clean bathroom. The problem is that we think they may be going out of business, because none of the amenities on the listing are available any longer. Breakfast? No. Restaurant/bar? No longer operating. Laundry facility? Nope. Air conditioning? Out of season, even though it was an uncomfortably warm week in March. A few restaurants a 10-15 minute walk away. Not the nicest area, but it was okay. Check Airbnb. We’re now in a huge luxury apartment downtown for the same price as Hotel Favorit. If you’re looking for something clean, except for the carpets and peeling paint, that’s a step up from a hostel, this is just fine. Given the price and availability of Airbnb’s for the same or less, it’s kind of a rip off.

Really good value for money. Bed was really comfortable, heating was good, very clean room. Within walking distance to the centre (15-20 minutes) or a few minutes walk from tram / metro station. Convenience store nearby. Staff really friendly, helpful and spoke great English. Only downside is the walls are really thin and I had some noisy guests next door. Soundproofed well for the outside though and couldn't hear anything from the street. Late check out not available, you have too book an extra night which is fine but it's over double the price compared to what you pay per night online. Would definitely stay again.

Close enough to centre. Clean enough. Very old decor. Reminded me of soviet union era. Just used it to sleep. Walls had dead flies that someone must have squashed. Bathroom was clean. Just old looking for the outside and inside. No breakfast

The only problem I had was that for the first day and a half I had to walk through all of the smokers that congregated outside the front door. That was a particular problem for me because of my allergies. On my last day there were no smokers.

The room had old damp paint peeling off the walls, but the room then was not damp. The receptionist who checked me in was outstanding! Excellent customer service skill from the check in receptionist. However the checkout receptionist did not give me a razor like last time!

The door did not lock with a key card. The sheet did not cover the mattress. One staff person was terrific. The others unfriendly and not helpful. No one offered to change towels or empty trash for three nights. The TV did not have English speaking channels. Breakfast was around the corner in a different place. It was a nice size room. The carpet was old and dirty.

Property in poor condition. On our first visit on 8/22/24 we were given room 603 which had 2 AC and neither one worked with outside temperature about 35°C and room temperature about the same. They would not move us to a different room as they were sold out and instead provided fans. They moved us following day to a room with working AC. When we rechecked in again on 9/3/24 they gave us again same 603 and said everything was fixed. I went to the room and both the AC were not working. I told the reception lady the problem was not fixed. She tried to tell me we are sold out and I said I want a room with working AC and she finally gave me a different room with working AC.The hotel is in bad shape. We had to stay because we booked non refundable rate. I would rather pay extra and get refundable rate. I am disappointed with Expedia. I have been using expedia for over 20 years but am going to stop using them as they dont fully explain the non refundable policy.

Good central location & comfortable but can do better

Good location from the centre. A little misleading on the signage, suggesting restaurant. You can pay for a buffet breakfast but you have to walk a minute up the road to another hotel. A selection of cold & hot food. The only problem was the hot food was cold! Also, we had to ask twice for part of our replacement towels!
The reception was helpful though.

The photos on Expedia hotel descriptions is very old and did mach the current condition of the room everything is outdated and very dirty!

Immersed in a previous Communist area, the Hotel has that particular flavor to it. There is audible noise from adjoining rooms to the point of hearing people in bed when they have intimate relations. There is no Restaurant as advertised. Breakfast is a block away in another hotel. Sone of the front desk staff pay more attention to smoking cigarettes than to requests to have your laundry done. Always order a taxi thru their app and never pick up from the street as they do not know how to get to the place. Bad choice

I stayed at this hotel for about 2,weeks. The staff in general were really friendly professional and always willing to help me. Communication was superb since all of them speak good English, there’s even a girl in the front desk who speaks very fluid Spanish for those who feel a little shy to try English. They always managed to accommodate me since I never make prior reservations. I felt like they wanted to stay there as i always assured I was only interested in their hotel. Just right around the corner, there is a hotel-restaurant connected to hotel Favorit, they offer excellent breakfast for an affordable price. The cleaning lady used to knock on my door to change towels in a daily basis which I considered unnecessary but highly appreciated…The area is quiet, safe and close to all public transportation. There are some restaurants around the area too. If I had to go back to Sofia one day, i would definitely choose the Favorit Hotel. Highly recommended!!!.

We stayed in Favorit hotel 2 months ago and had a room on the 5th floor, which was okay. But this time we stayed, our room was on the 1st floor and it was a lot better. We liked it very much, room comes with a balcony, comfortable bed, bathroom has everything we need. We will definitely stay here again.

The girl in the front desk was able to accommodate me in one of the best rooms although the busy congestion of guests. She took her time and worked hard to keep me in the property when I decided to stay another 4 days. I highly recommend the favorit hotel to those who can’t afford the heart of the city. Cleanly impecable and always attentive to satisfy my needs. If I had to come back to Sofia, i would definitely choose this hotel again. It’s safe, quiet, and friendly.

Well located hotel a block in from the main road linking the bus/train stations to the city centre, about 5 mins walk from Lion Bridge metro. Staff were always kind, room was spacious with a balcony, very comfortable and the bedding and bathroom clean.

The carpet was a bit grubby, and a few of the fixtures needed an update but not really an issue for me. Building work nextdoor started at 6am!!

DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE!
This hotel is horrible. The 10/10 reviews are obviously fake. Our room had a filthy, ancient carpet. The mattress and box springs had no frame; they were on the floor. The box springs were urine-stained. The sheets were for a different-sized bed. The pillows smelled. There was no shower curtain and only one towel.
The desk clerk was nice but argued with us when we complained, saying they just couldn't get help to clean.
There were young females loitering outside the front door late at night. There were people hanging around smoking, including the desk clerk.
There is no restaurant, these is no bar, there is no room service, and there is no luggage storage.
We left the following morning, asking Expedia and the hotel for a refund of the two unused nights. We have photos to prove the deplorable condition.

Hotel is located on a quiet street. Conveniently located close to the Centeř, and also to the train and bus stations. Great breakfast at the hotel next door. All the toiletries and towels provided. Clean. However, some furniture is dated, and carpet looks old and stained. This hotel lists a luggage holding service, and there is a room for that. However, when we asked the front desk person to hold it after checking out, they refused. They mentioned they couldn’t guarantee the safety of the luggage.
