The room layout was uncomfortable. The bathroom had an unnecessary step up and was very close to the bed. It was difficult to get around. The hotel is decorated beautifully. The room was cleaned daily and the air conditioning was great. A breakfast buffet is available. The staff is friendly. The location of the hotel is great with plenty of restaurants and transportation available.

The Select Hotel – Rive Gauche was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in during our recent trip to Europe!

The value was exceptional, and the location couldn't have been better. It was centrally located with easy access to many of Paris's top attractions, while also being just steps from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens—a wonderful bonus.

The hotel has a stylish, contemporary feel and was impeccably clean and well maintained. What truly set it apart, however, was the outstanding front desk staff. The level of customer service was among the best we have ever experienced, and it made a tremendous difference throughout our stay.

Our room was thoughtfully decorated and well equipped with a minibar, safe, desk, and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom felt recently renovated, with modern finishes and an absolutely fantastic shower.

It was a pleasure returning to the hotel each evening after exploring the city, and we would happily stay here again on a future visit to Paris.

Hotel is perfectly located in the hustle and bustle of the Latin Quarter. My original room that was offered did not meet my expectation, but the Hotel was very kind to upgrade me to a beautiful view over looking the Square. The bed sadly needed to be replaced as it was sagging in the middle. I have stayed here many times and perhaps a refresh is needed. Common areas were pleasant and the small bar tucked in the back is very accomodating. Overall a great time in Paris

Fantastic customer service. A shout out to Laurel, he was very helpful in getting me a taxi to catch the Eurostar train to London. There was some traffic jam caused by an incident so I had to wait over 30 mins. Thanks to Laurel’s persistence he finally managed to get me a taxi.
The hotel room was clean, had great air conditioning, bathroom was fantastic, location was great and had a few brasseries and a Pret a Manger just next to the hotel. This was perfect when we just wanted to grab a drink or have dinner nearby after a long day of walking around Paris. Will definitely stay here again.
Also, just a few minutes walk to Jardin Luxembourg. Grab a croissant or yummy dessert from Laduree across the road from the garden and sit on one of the many green chairs and enjoy!

Unbelievably dirty. Bugs and spiders were everywhere in the room, even falling from the wooden ceiling onto the bed. Extremely dirty. I really regret paying $500 per night for this awful property, it was not a 4-star hotel it was a dirty motel! I am worried about going back home carrying the bugs with me 😭

This Select Hotel was in a perfect location - near Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, the Pantheon. The Musee D'Orsay was a nice walk away as were several other museums on the Left Bank. The hotel was spotless and the staff could not be more helpful. I actually hated to leave. The daily breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone. In addition to the bacon and eggs, meatless options were plentiful: fruit, yogurt, wonderful pastries and great coffee. Place de la Sorbonne has a row of restaurants right outside the hotel's doors. The tree-lined street offers indoor and outdoor options and the setting is ideal. With clean, comfy rooms and a friendly, accommodating staff, this hotel has to be on every Paris visitor's list.

Excellent location and staff! Overall very nice hotel, but there were several quirky things worth noting with our room in particular. The bathroom was wide open to the room which required showering in full view of each other. There was no way to turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night without illuminating the entire room and waking up your partner, and the air conditioning was very cold with no way to control it directly. There was also a very dangerous step up within the room that we tripped over numerous times and almost wiped out. The tub appeared to be designed for someone with a height of 6 feet or greater and also presented some safety issues. Despite the \"quirks,\" it was a great stay with lots of restaurants and excellent customer service!

Nice hotel but, be warned, the design of our room meant there was no bathroom door. The bathroom was effectively an open part of the bedroom. You could close the entrance partially by keeping the door of the wardrobe open and there was a shower curtain, but it was not very private. .

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we had a great experience with Laurent who offered his assistance and recommendations without hesitation. All of the front desk staff were very welcoming. We booked a last minute room after a hiccup with our other hotel, and I was far more impressed with Select Hotel and their staff than the other one. I will definitely be coming back!

The hotel is opposite the entrance to the Sorbonne, so if you were visiting the University there is no better location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequate, but there were places that were not easy to reach but were visible where dust and fluff had accumulated. The plumbing needed attention. The toilet flush did not work correctly - most of the time, the water did not stop running and only stopped when the flush was pressed again. The bath (with shower) was only separated from the bedroom by an open screen. The shower curtain did not always stop water entering the bedroom and wetting the bed! The bath/shower controls were not correctly fitted and getting the shower to work without the bath filling took a lot of fiddling.
The bed was comfortable but the room was never really dark because of lights outside the window and a nightlight by the door that could not be turned off.
We only used the breakfast buffet once - it was alright, but not especially good value for money.
The “bar” was not very inviting; I never saw anyone using it; we looked at using the bar once but it was overheated and empty so we went to a cafe next door,

Great staff, very helpful and always courteous. It was a great stay, really close to Luxembourg Garden and Notre Dame. They had a great breakfast (for a charge). Cookies and water in the lobby were a nice touch. I only wouldn't stay here again because the standard room was so, so small that it was hard to more around the room with our luggages (2 adults). If you're traveling only with a backpack, then this would be a 100% perfect hotel. But if you have luggages, it's hard because of space.

This is my favorite hotel in Paris. It is in an excellent location, rooms are immaculate and peaceful, the in-room coffee is excellent, the tea service in the afternoon with Kusmi tea is a plus, everyone at the front desk is absolutely wonderful (Un très grand merci à toute l'équipe!). I highly recommend this excellent establishment!

A well-run and maintained hotel in a great spot on the Left Bank. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. Our room (the small standard) was dinky, especially the bathroom, but not cramped - just usual for Paris. If you have access issues, it’s a good idea to check with the hotel beforehand.

The hotel was well situated, a short walk to Notre Dame and the latin quarter. Plenty of places to eat and drink. All the staff were friendly and welcoming at the hotel. The room was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable, but it was noisy. Being on the ground floor meant you heard people walking past outside and having a maintenance cupboard opposite was not.ideal.

We had a wonderful stay here for 3 nights this November. From the start, our experience was just perfect. Every single staff member we interacted with was so warm, friendly, and couldn’t do enough to help where needed. The hotel is really beautiful inside, and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of their executive rooms which was just lovely! The reviews of this hotel speak volumes, and I’m so glad we booked. We wouldn’t hesitate in visiting this hotel again next time we visit Paris. Thankyou for everything!

The room is very old, no soundproofing that I can hear every door shuts or opens. There was no door to shower so it literally few step away from bedside, and there was no blinds so the light shines in when dawn. Will never return to this 4 stars hotel that more like a budget hotel, except for the staffs, staffs are amazing. By the way, my partner was bit by unknown bug in this hotel after the first night.

Beginning with the modern and inventive lobby and continuing to the typically Left Bank small but well appointed rooms, this property is superb in every way. Special appreciation to front desk manager Laurent and to the wonderful cookies available in the early evening. Care and consideration are obvious in an expensively rehabilitated structure, including its modern elevators. A much appreciated bonus are the Nespresso machines in rooms and excellent lighting including special reading lights for the bed. Although the baths are small, they are well lighted and have a quality hair dryer easily available. The location could not be better for Rive Gauche devotees, with the oldest parts of the Sorbonne only feet away, a Metro nearby and only a few minutes to the Luzumbourg Palace and Garden. Newly reopened Notre Dame and its reinstated 400pm Sunday organ concerts is only ten minutes away. Situated directly on the Pl de la Sorbonne, the entry is adjacent to a lovely small fountain. Two adjacent brasseries serve excellent and affordable cuisine. Easily one of the Left Bank's best hotels and strongly recommended..

The hotel is on the Place de La Sorbonne there is no parking nor unloading in front of the hotel. We had to unload a block away and carry our luggage ourselves to the hotel. This made for a rough start. The desk was friendly once we arrived and the room was charming. The bathroom for room 39 did not have a door to close so there was no privacy what so ever for the guests while showering or using the bathtub. We were traveling with our adult daughter and privacy was a big issue due to this. The bathroom has curtains on the front and back of the bathroom but no door. So any one in the room was able to see into the shower bath area. It would be easy for the hotel to install a rail sliding door or barn type door to solve this lack of privacy for guest sharing this room. The room was charming and uniquely designed. It did have a separate and private toilet room. Lots of little storage areas which was nice. The location was great and walkable. If they could find a solution to the lack of privacy in this room for the bath area we would love to return.

Good boutique hotel right next to the Sorbonne college. We were in Paris during the \"Block everything Movement\", with city wide protesting going on. But we felt very safe in the neighborhood. Room is very small but is also full of charms. Within walking distance to the Louve and the Notre Dame.

For a 4 star hotel, I was disappointed. I booked a small room, but the room layout was poor - e.g. the bed was too close to the bathroom door, and furnishings were average. Also, having to return the room key to reception every time I went out was annoying.
