This hotel is a scam. They have no one to check you in or help you out. The self-check-in machine didn't have my reservation details, so I wasn't able to check in.

When I contacted them on WhatsApp, an AI bot messaged me back saying it couldn't locate my reservation in their system. I ended up booking at another hotel, and they refused to give me my money back. This hotel should be shut down because it is a scam.

I have never used McDreams before and was happy to book with them, despite having some reservations regarding keyless hotels with no staff on site. However, things were very good. The digital key was 'delivered' in plenty of time via the app and it worked well.
My room was basic but clean and comfortable and as I was traveling alone it did not matter . The bed was comfortable and the shower room and toilet was fine. The location was good too, near to the local railway station and with shops , cafes etc nearby. My only gripes were the curtains only covered about 70% of the window and I was being harried to check out by the cleaner at around 0915 when check out was 1100. I was due to be going around then anyway but I felt it was not right. Otherwise no problems and I would use again, it was good value.

An sich ist alles okay, aber während meiner ersten Buchungsnacht funktionierte der Fernseher schon nicht. Auf meinen Hinweis hin, bekam ich keine Reaktion vom Hotel - es gibt keine Rezeption, alles läuft digital. Ich hatte eine Info beim Auschecken im Zimmer hinterlegt.

Bei meiner zweiten Buchungsnacht war in einem anderen Zimmer auch wieder der Fernseher kaputt. Nach aufwändiger Telefoniererei bekam ich eine Hotline ans Telefon - die Mitarbeiter erklärte mir, dass das Problem bereits bekannt sei und die Firma zum Reparieren erst am Freitag kommt.

Ich finde es nicht akzeptabel, dass Gästen dann nicht bereits beim Buchungsvorgang ein Hinweis gegeben wird, dass etwas nicht in Ordnung ist. So hätte zumindest ich mir ein anderes Hotel gesucht - das geht so gar nicht!

You can not find a reception when you arrive! You make your check in by yourself.
Room cleaning is 10 Euro extra!
As I stayed 6 days, I should pay extra for room cleaning. Pillows, upper sheet and towels should be renewed but you should pay extra for each! The room was silent but
Never again. Sorry. Absolutely disappointment;(

Insgesamt gut, Einchecken Verbesserungswürdig.

Das Zimmer sowie Hotel allgemein gut. Alles da , Dusche,WC und TV zu kleinem Preis. Einchecken per elektronischem Schlüssel schwierig . Zimmertür funktionierte teils gar nicht.
Auch amdere Gäste hatten Probleme.

The best of best in my recent stays !
The room was very comfortable for 3 people (me wife and kid)
Location was great. Free parking with ample space is excellent. Clear communication is an add-on.

Just one suggestion to management team - coffee machine in facility is very complicated to operate and we tried and failed multiple times.

I have given 5 stars just because its not possible to give 10 starts. Very satisfied !!! The price they charge is like budget hotel and the faculty they provided is equivalent to mid to high range hotel.

Very much satisfied and I'm going to their brand ambassador from now in my known group.

The room was tidy, clean and functioned well. The contemporary design scheme was simple and attractive. Check in and room access via smartphone was easy. Location was perfect for what we were looking for. In the evening there seemed to be a few people loitering around the property entrance and some asking for money, but otherwise our stay was positive.

Signposting for the hotel is extremely bad, notification of parking allowance extremely bad. They have advised previously that they have no air conditioning to \"help the environment\" which is absolute rubbish, they're just too cheap to pay for it. Look elsewhere for a good night sleep

Poor ustomer service, including contact via email. Unclean bathroom. Homeless people sleeping in the entrance corridor. Young people in their cars playing loud music and smoking cannabis in the car park until 4am. All these issues and nonody at the hotel willing to help or resolve issues. I would look to staying anywhere else that a McDreams hotel again.

Horrible ! Pas de Clim dans les chambres, en pleins été je vous laisse devinez la chaleur dans l’établissement. Du coup, obligé s’ouvrir la fenêtre, sauf que la chambre donne sur un axe routier principal extrêmement bruyant ! Impossible de dormir. La femme de ménage qui viens dans votre chambre a 8h alors qu’il est indiqué ne pas déranger, et qui vous demande quand vous partez. Sans parler de la salle de sport en dessous qui met la musique à fond …

Tried to keep window open over night but traffic noise was unbearable

I checked in on-line and did not have chance to request different room. No reception at all. The only stuff are cleaning personnel. Would not recommend for families with kids.

Online checkin didn't work. Checkin at hotel didn't work. Had to call for assistance. No physical reception or staff on site. Lots of odd people hanging around outside hotel, not recommended for a woman on her own. No coffee, tea or kettle in the room. No parking ticket provided as no receipt given.
Room clean and fresh. Disgustingly hot during heat wave and days afterwards too. One small fan provided didn't cool room.

Wir übernachten im MCDreams Hotel wenn wir Familie in Rheydt besuchen und haben uns bis jetzt immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein aber modern eingerichtet und sauber. Der Service ist außerordentlich freundlich, hat uns insbesondere beim letzten Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Nasty surprise at reception about dog

I travelled with dog and chose this hotel because it accepts dogs. Upon arrival the receptionist tells me I should have indicated prior to arrival that I would take a dog along and tells me there are no 'dog rooms' left in the 'basic' category. She proposes to give me a 'business' room, which costs more than EUR 30 more than the one I booked. I refused. She then tells me she found a 'dog room', which I accept at the prebooked price. During the conversation she claimed that it was indicated 'everywhere' that dogs need to be pre-announced. I checked the hotels.com site again and there is no mention of the sort. A stressful and unpleasant arrival. The hotel is new and the room was clean and comfortable.

Was comfortable for an overnight stay, although not quite a double bed and the pillows were really odd shapes and not the best in comfort. Clean room, and convenient location. Good parking availability and the bakery next door did good food and coffee! Pleasantly surprised by the town/city centre that had a very nice German pub/restaurant.

Pretty good place for a short stay, not the greatest of view over a petrol station but that's handy.
Downside is no breakfast available there.
It is a walkable distance to town centre.
Supplying fans was a good thing, no A/C available.
They could upgrade a bit with complimentary tea coffee and a kettle.

Monchengladbach is worth a visit.

Monchengladbach is a mainly new town, it was very badly damaged in the war so there are not so many old buildings. It was very hot during our stay so the nearby woods were very welcome.

Room was very clean, also quiet small, but sufficient for the occasion of needing a bed to rest. Check in was fast and easy. Interesting concept of using digital door locks that require an access code to be unlocked. I would prefer using my phone or a key card to get into my room. The number pad is inconvenient.

Location is good with free parking space, which is very handy. The hotel is really clean and tidy, lovely hot shower. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only a bit noisy at night from the traffic outside, so those earplugs provided on the side table are necessary and thoughtful.

Great little hotel

Excellent, helpful staff, this was an ideal, comfortable stay during our recent trip to Dusseldorf, close to the station. Staff were most accommodating, particularly Asteria who helped beforehand as we had to organise a late check-in due to flight timings, and then our flight was cancelled completely until the following day!
Comfortable, immaculately clean rooms with everything we needed for the weekend, we would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again if in the area.

This hotel was well priced and clean with a modern bathroom. It is a 5 minute walk to some restaurants and a Mc Donald's. There is a cheap supermarket right next door where we bought fresh croissants for breakfast. It was perfect for the cheap stopover that we were looking for.

This hotel is actually situated in Rheydt and not in Monchenglagbach. The hotel is near to where my Father was born in December 1938. My Uncle was confirmed in the Church at the bottom of the street. I wanted to stay in Monchengladbach and NOT in Rheydt.
The weight lifting part of the gym was above my bedroom and that was very irritating as I could hear the weights lifting.
There was no kettle in the room. The staff in Stingers was very rude.

A Hidden Little Gem!

In town for a football match so we had booked this earlier this year. For the price that we paid we were very pleased with our booking. Not far from the station it was easy to find, just follow the signs! The entrance is at the side of the building near the petrol station!!
Girls on reception very helpful and check in was very quick. Nice room with twin beds, tv, desk and a chair. Good size bathroom. Couldn't fault.
There is no restaurant so for breakfast you go to the bakery next door. Wonderful fresh baked bread rolls, cakes and a continental breakfast costing just under 5 euros.
I would stay here again most definitely.

Unusual but nice

The hotel is located in the city centre in a big building on the second floor.There is also a car park which you can use by displaying a hotel pass.To get to the reception ,you need to take a big and spacious lift,which is perfect if you have a lot of luggage.The receptionist was kind and eager to answer all our questions.The room itself was very clean and quiet although it overlooked a busy street.Everything inside the room looked brand new and was squeaky clean.There was one issue,though.To get into the room,you need to use a code because there is an electronic lock.Unfortunately,the room cannot be locked from the inside at night but as we were told, there was nothing to worry about because the hotel was safe.All in all,a very nice hotel.

Das Zimmer war recht klein, aber für eine Person ausreichend, sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, alles lief reibungslos und das Einchecken war sehr benutzerfreundlich. Parkplätze sind mehr als ausreichend vorhanden. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist einfach unschlagbar. Was mich gestört hat war die fehlende Überkopfbrause in der Dusche, es war nur eine Handbrause vorhanden.

Nous nous sommes fait verbaliser par les les autorités locales à hauteur de 40 euros malgré la présence du ticket stationnement gratuit disponible à l'hôtel. Aucune indulgence des autorités locales.... ça sent un peu l'arnaque aux touristes ! Le séjour nous a donc coûté le prix double à cause cela, c'est moche !
