Absolutely Ridiculous Nickel-and-Diming — Never Again
I stayed at La Cima de Valle from Feb 6–8, and I now understand why they told me at check-in that only two other guests were staying on the property. That should’ve been my warning sign.
First offense: I booked a very expensive couples massage, assuming (reasonably) that basic spa amenities were included. We asked to use the sauna, which they had to turn on themselves. At no point did anyone inform us there would be an extra charge. After using it for about 5 minutes, I was informed I would be charged $30. When I explained that I was never told there was a fee—and that I would never have agreed if I had known—management refused to waive or adjust it. I asked to speak to higher management and was flat-out told no. I even offered to pay a reduced amount just to resolve it reasonably. Also refused. That level of inflexibility over a five-minute sauna use is honestly embarrassing for a hotel that claims to be luxury.
Second: the jacuzzi took TWO HOURS to heat up. Two. Hours. And every single time we wanted to use it, we had to ask staff to turn it on. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels and resorts—this was by far the worst experience with a jacuzzi.
Third: at checkout, we were told we’d be charged for a dirty towel. Yes, a towel. A towel I used to wipe dust off my shoes after an ATV excursion in the Valle.Charging guests extra for using towels is beyond petty.

La Cima met all of our needs as we prepared for an event in their Garden below. Our room was by the pool which I used every morning and the deck was overlooking the valley! Restaurant on site, very good for breakfast.

I am just now leaving this hotel from a three night stay. The staff is amazing. The room met my expectations for the most part. It was smaller than i thought but no problem. Note that there is no ice machine in the facility. We paid like 3 usd for a bag of ice. Up until check out; we were ready to come back. We feel we were more than generous with the staff during our stay, we were respectful of the facilities, we abided by the rules. On the second morning of our trip the cleaning lady asked me if I needed room service. I said no thank you but did ask for more towels. She asked me for the dirty ones in order to give me more. She literally gave me the amount and sizes of towels I gave her. I get it, no problem but I did note it. I gave her one facial wash cloth and two bath towels. So at check out the day later, the man at reception tells us that there's a note on our paperwork to charge us for one facial towel and a bath towel. I enquired why we would be charged and he said maybe because they're stained. I said yes, I know the facial towel was stained because since it's a facial wash cloth I used it to wash my face! So he concured that the stains were the makeup on the facial wash cloth. At this point I'm pissed because it is not in the rules that you'll be charged if you stain towels with makeup. I'm not even sure if the large towel had any stains but the facial wash cloth did. It's a wash cloth! So he charged us 15 usd for both towels which we wouldnt even get to take home.

Really loved this place, came for a few days and felt like we were the only ones there, maybe we were. Regardless, we had the best time, the employees were super friendly and helpful. We spent a good amount of time at the pool and they have a bar next to it which is open Friday- Saturday only, at least at the time we were there. They had some cute, friendly dogs at the property which was a nice touch. Our room was nice, with a lovely view. Also, the food at the restaurant, at least for breakfast was so delicious and fresh.

Unfortunately once we got into our room we realized we couldn’t shower and had no warm/ hot water in the room to shower or in the sink to wash hands. The front desk was also not in communication with the bar and restaurant as they told us very different times as far as the time each opened and closed.

We stayed at La Cima for an evening after spending the day with our family in Valle. The views from the front rooms were stunning! Traveling with a toddler makes things interesting and there were plenty of things to keep our two year old occupied from green grass areas, star gazing on the patio and the play area near the entrance! We will definitely be returning!

Nos hospedamos en la Cima del Valle y nuestra habitación fue la #5 con una vista hermosa al Valle con su pequeño deck para tomarte tu café por las mañanas o un vino por la noche, la regadera deliciosa!! Agua caliente la regadera con mucha presión por lo regular no es así en esta área, el wifi bien, la presentación de cada platillo de su restaurante espectacular hasta un simple plato de fruta parecía un arte, el jugo verde DELICIOSO! Lo único que el restaurante cierra muy temprano a las 8pm. Así que si gustan cenar y no dormir con el estómago vacío cenen antes de las 8pm😅es un poco difícil de encontrar porque NO hay un señalamiento por la carretera que diga la Cima del Valle, nosotros dimos por GPS de otra forma no hubiera manera… sigan los señalamientos del hotel Maglén y despedimos de ese hotel ya hay señalamientos a la Cima. Nos encantó y regresaremos próximamente. Gracias a todo el peaonal! En especial a Andres que nos dio un excelente servicio en el restaurante, a Ángel en recepción que nos ayudó a reservar un tour de último minuto a las vinícolas y a Rafael por su paciencia con nuestro equipaje 😅Gracias! We spent two nights in their largest room which featured a generous living area and 3 bedrooms. The living room lacks a TV. The bedrooms vary in size and amenities so they are not equal. We had to draw straws and I ended up with the smallest one. Here are the issues with this specific room. The toilet smells like rotten eggs and despite maintenance fixing it one night the smell came back a few hours later. By the second night it was unbearable. The water pressure in the small room was non existent to the point that it wasn’t enough to rinse off shampoo or body wash. The lock on the door was broken or not aligned properly as was the dead bolt on the main door. There were no tissues in the entire 3 bedroom property and no plugs to charge phone on one side of the bed. Each room only had one robe even though the beds were king and queen meant for two people. The overall quality of the finishes and furniture was cheap. No prices on the snacks and water. Charged for things we didn’t eat and drink.
The area is quite and safe and the staff is friendly. The 5 large dogs on the property are adorable.

I loved that they gave us free welcome drinks for the two nights we were there and the bar being right next to the pool and jacuzzi. The property was quiet and intimate. Property is over rated. Before booking I read all the reviews and everything was a 10. Unfortunately it wasn’t for us. Employees are not friendly or welcoming, especially the bar tender at the pool bar. We reserved the master suite (3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ), space was wonderful. However, our rooms smelled like sewage and air conditioner was dripping water.

We had a really nice stay at La Cima del Valle. Staff was really kind and helped us with all of our questions about the surrounding area. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The parking situation is tough because the roads are pretty bumpy so I do not recommend driving with a car that is not 4WD, and please drive slowly. The restaurant on-site is really nice and we also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.
