My friend and I have just returned home after a week at the Amber Light Villas. Santorini and the Amber Lights exceeded our expectations.
The two bedroom villa we had was fantastic, so much room and a very generous outdoor space with great sun loungers and a hot tube.
The Villas are located up in the hills and it was beyond peaceful and relaxing. It was great having a small hire car and we were able to travel around from there. It's only 10 minutes from Fira which is a great visit in the evenings.
The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful.
I cannot recommend staying here highly enough, it was fantastic.

Amber light villas was an okay place to stay. I was sad about the fact we were told we will be having a jacuzzi and it was not warm and the button to turn on the bubbles did not work easily.
The place was infested with bugs but not sure if that’s the fault of the property or the fact we were so high up in the hills. That’s another thing to note, getting to this place is a trek.
The bathroom door never closed properly and took a long time to do so when it eventually did.
Overall the property is outdated and definitely needs a refurb in order to be classified a 4 star hotel.
Breakfast was the same more or less everyday and was super basic.
It must be noted there are so many stairs. Please be aware when booking this place.
That being said, staff were kind and views were unreal.

Stunning view and size of the room is excellent. We were very disappointed upon our arrival that none of the promised amenities worked. The sauna in the room and sauna at the spa didn’t work, The temperature of the jacuzzi in the room and spa was set to lukewarm a totally out of our control. Breakfast was more like a cafeteria food quality. Definitely a management issue.

It is out of nowhere. If you want to enjoy nature and silence, you might enjoy it. I missed the energy and was glad we rented a car to explore.

The villa was well-maintained and the room was clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with ride share services and information on sights to see and restaurants to go to.

The only thing I didn’t like is that it’s very secluded and nothing nearby. You needed to either rent a vehicle or use ride share services which becomes costly.

Let me start with the staff who were all exceptional. They were very friendly and tried to accomodate our every need. The pools are amazing from the shared pool to the private pool we had in our room. You get amazing views sunrise of the Aegean. I like the quiet location of the resort as it is only a 25 minute drive to anywhere else on the island. I would advise to rent a car or atv to save on transportation costs.

Wonderful stay at Amber Lights Villas! We spent a week in the hotel and had a great stay - the rooms are beautiful wach with their own peivate terrace areas so feel very private. All the staff were super helpful and welcoming, helping us will arranging taxis, transfers and advice on the island. The only downside is that the location is pretty remote and mainly accessible by car. If you do not have a car/taxi then the walk to the nearest main road is via a very steep uphill walk however you could easily enjoy a trip only staying at the hotel!

Clean, spacious rooms and helpful staff, but overall disappointing for the price. The location isn’t walkable—no paved road, no restaurants or cafés nearby—so a rental car for the duration of the stay is a must. The view looks nice only at night or from certain angles, the real view from the balcony is very underwhelming. Breakfast was very limited with almost no fresh fruit, not what you’d expect at $500/night. Charging €2 for Nespresso pods felt offensive. Staff try their best, but with only one person at the desk, check-in/out can be slow.
Spacious rooms and good service, but it’s not for those expecting a signature Santorini view, walkability, or luxury breakfast options.

The property is beautiful and in a very peaceful, quiet location. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly recommend renting a car to get around because there is nothing in walking distance. The bar ran out of beer which was a bummer and breakfast was cold every morning (but very good). A second coffee machine would have been nice as there was a line to use it each morning. Overall a great place to stay!

There is nothing within walking distance, so be prepared to spend €20-30 on each ride to town or rent a vehicle. If you don’t mind spending money on transportation then you can’t go wrong with this hotel.

Hotel is beautiful and relaxing with good facilities. Staff were friendly and polite. It’s in one of the quieter parts of Santorini and Imerovigli where the hotel is located is at a higher altitude, so if you are going for a short trip then I would recommend hiring a car, it will enhance the experience to enjoy beauty of Santorini and do other excursions easily since walk upto the bus stop is very steep and exhausting. Except for the private pool and a big swimming pool downstairs there are not other entertainment option for kids. Breakfast was decent and view of sunrise from the room was breathtaking.

Staff were all very nice and hospitable. Getting to wake up and open our bedroom door and seeing the sunrise everyday was definitely worth it. Definitely a little off the path from the main hustle and bustle but I liked it cause you had way more privacy and peace from the masses in the main towns. So a renting a car or atv is clutch if staying here. Really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely come back! Thank you amber light villas!

I had a terrible experience at Amber Light Villa, particularly with the receptionists. The other staff members, such as the housemaids, restaurant staff, and bellboys, were very nice and friendly, though.

When I checked in, the receptionist informed me that we would have to use the towels for two days without changing them. There were no complimentary bottles of water or coffee; they charged for everything. The restaurant's opening hours were from 8 to 10 AM and 2 to 11 PM, which meant we couldn't have lunch there. Additionally, since the villa is located in the middle of nowhere, there was no transportation available. As a result, I had to rent a small car for only two people at a cost of 75 Euros per day, and I had to buy water and coffee from grocery stores.

We stayed in a room that was supposed to have a hot tub, but it wasn't heated at all. The shower did not drain properly, and the bathroom became very humid after each shower.

On the day of check-out, the receptionist tried to charge me for five bottles of water and two coffee pods that I didn't use. She said she would check with the housemaid. When I inquired about the charges, she casually said, \"It doesn’t matter.\" If I hadn't asked, I would have been charged for those items.

I tipped the housemaid $40 for her services, but I don't believe I should have to pay this resort for items I didn't use. The villa should have clearly stated that they wouldn’t change towels every day and adjusted their pricing accordingly.

Firstly I would like to say the room was amazing, the balcony and private pool was a great commodity and the barman / Waiter was very polite and worked very hard to make our stay as good as possible.
Unfortunately that's where the good stuff ends, the location was good as long as you had the money to travel by taxi everywhere as all other options were not very accessible.
The air con in our room had to be turned off and on every ten minutes to reset it to get it work.
The thing that was the most disappointing was the fact that a stray cat was always at the restaurant area, I am aware that the Greeks like cats, but it is very unhygienic especially as stray cats carry many diseases that can be fatal to humans, also I am allergic to cats and they had no consideration for this, no signs and the staff and other guests were feeding the cats hence why they stay around the restaurant this is not acceptable.
The restaurant food was okay but the food and drinks were expensive. The breakfast was terrible, cold and soggy food with poor selection and poor options for breakfast time drinks.
The cleaners weren't great at re stocking toilet roll. The taxis recommended by the hotel were expensive, I understand this may not be there fault. I would recommend that they sort out the cat issue and increase the quality of the breakfast, also installing some kind of convenience shop would make this stay much more convenient.

For a Luxury hotel, you got to have Netflix or YouTube option on your tv....... you dealing with modern and international guest, so how can you have an old school tv with no modern function? Your even had a Cd player...... its 2025 no one use a CD PLAYER, or carry cassettes on their vacation!

We were frustrated for over an hour waiting to get our room. It's very usual I got free drink vocher at the bar while waiting for the room in other hotels, but i got nothing.this time.
The cleaness of main pool toilets weren't good. The coffee machine of breakfast buffet really needs an upgrade.

Isolated from shopping, Dinning, exploring. Most excursions will not pick you up from this hotel since buses cannot access thru the dirt road. Consider renting a car if staying at this hotel. Uber is ridiculous at $40 a ride no matter the distance. Taxi is ok but can add up quickly. Otherwise love the room, the staff, and good breakfast.

Beautiful rooms and nice to have a private pool or jacuzzi. Staff was very helpful w translating for us concerning our itinerary items. Breakfast every morning was awesome. Rooms are all white, loved waking up to the beautiful ocean that faces the windows every morning. We had a regular room and the larger room and both were nice. Showers were nice and hot. My only complaint is the location. Not great if you want to go shopping or exploring bc there is literally nothing around this hotel. This is a nice place for someone who wants to do nothing but enjoy their room. Some excursions will pick up from this hotel but majority of the time you have to catch a taxi to another nearby hotel where the excursion had to pick you up from (hence the lovely ladies at the hotel were SO very helpful) would stay here again if not planning to do anything but enjoy the room. Probably not with the kiddos.

I enjoyed the location and privacy. We were told everything about the island but wasn’t told the restaurant was closed upon our arrival. I requested an extra blanket and had to wait almost 3 hours to get it. The next morning, the restaurant wasn’t fully operational at the time it was suppose to be open. I didn’t like how we were told to get cash for spa services due to the professional having a broke machine but we ended up paying at the reception desk and not the professional. We had to pay the hotel for the taxi transfers to and from the airport which was fine but when it came to going other places, we paid the driver directly. If everything would’ve been communicated thoroughly in the beginning I think this would’ve made this vacation a 5.

Our stay had both positive and less favorable aspects. While we appreciated the room’s comfort and found it well-equipped with everything we needed, the breakfast buffet was just okay, and having only one coffee machine led to frequent waits. The restaurant and bar service hours felt limited for what is marketed as a ‘luxury hotel,’ and the reception experience was rather basic compared to the warm welcomes we received elsewhere in Greece.

Though the staff were polite and professional, the overall experience didn’t fully match our expectations.
Additionally, the views at the edges of the property weren’t as impressive as expected, as you needed to step back to fully appreciate the ocean view.

As a gold Expedia member we had the perk to upgrade to a better room if available. Unfortunately it wasn’t available for us and the late check out was only available for 1 more hour.

Overall, while the hotel offers comfort, it could enhance its service and hospitality to match the exceptional experiences we’ve had at other places in Greece.

We loved this Hotel but be aware you will need transportation , Oia Village is 20 min away . You will be in Imerovigli, we rented it at ATV (70 euros for 24 hrs 500 cc and it was perfect .

We had a room with the jet tub and it was perfect because the water is “refreshing “ this time of the year ..: this is how Greeks called it .
Overall Amber light was good , breakfast not so good .

Amber Light Villas was the second hotel we stayed at ion Santorini. In fact we booked it and arrived 30 minutes after. We were warmly welcomed and offered help with transportation, recommendations, and more!

The Amber Light Villas were absolutely stunning. When you arrive there you immediately feel like you are in a luxury resort. The staff is incredibly kind, the rooms are clean, and the public areas are all pristine.

Although looking directly out of our pool was an abandoned old rusty car. I assume from the neighbors property. It was a bit from the local scene but we ended up liking that after the crowds of town. The only downside is the location. If you like to be somewhere away from the crowd and isolated you will love this hotel. It is an hour uphill walk to happening places or at least 40 Euro cab ride each time you come and go.

Oh where to start I suppose the one compliment I can leave is the ladies at the front desk were very nice and from there it’s all down hill. The room was clean but if u like to sweat all night then this is the place for you bc the air did not work. You love having a pool in your room? Cool that works if it’s hot enough for the sun to heat the pool or if u like cold plunges bc pool wasn’t heated and was too damn cold for us to enjoy. Called a few different place to get food delivered yea that’s not happening as no one delivers to this place in the middle of nowhere. I would set a plot for a murder movie here though. 😀

Beautiful, relaxing and quiet hotel! The hotel staff are all very nice, polite, accommodating, informative, and responsive. The location is a bit remote and away from the rest of the touristy areas, but it can be a plus for those who are looking to get away from the crowd and relax. Taxis were available and the hotel can set it all up for you. The nearest bus station is a little of a hike/walk from the hotel. There is a trail that we hiked/walked on to get to the main street of Imerovigli and connects to the popular trail that goes from Oia to Fira.

Breakfast is included. It is a buffet style, and has a wide variety of breakfast foods, all of which were delicious. There is one restaurant on site, which has standard foods. The bar is also on site.

Our room was nice and spacious, and had a beautiful view. The AC worked great, our pool was cleaned every morning, and overall was relaxing. Our outdoor space was relatively private. We can still see part of the two neighboring pools. We also had a family staying above us, and unfortunately had children who were doing cannon balls into their pool causing big splashes down on us..

We enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend to those who want to have a quieter atmosphere.

1.For shower water was not hot enough, just a bit warm.

3. And the worst was, AC not working for all 3 nights of our stay, so we had to sleep with open windows, so outside lights, mosquitoes and airplane noises in the morning. My kids were miserable too at night.
After sharing our concerns, receptionist said, it’s not a big deal, it will not bother her if she was to be in the same situation. And manager was also not responsive and was not professional at all.
We were not compensated for the 3 nights stay of €1650. Overall we felt swindled and disappointed.

The lady at the reception kept the whole group (13 people, 6 rooms) at the small room to do the check in for all the rooms and then give us some information..it took about an hour and when some of us who were tired after the long trip went to our rooms to use the washroom, she was mad at us! She took the whole group on a tour to see each other’s rooms that was totally unnecessary! We asked to change one of the rooms because of the many stairs and she offered us to pay and receive an upgrade, but when we told her that being a gold member at hotels.com means an upgrade upon availability, she said the room is not available!!

I paid for an upgrade with a pool. It was green.
The Internet was impossible to work with, in and out, they finally fixed it the day before departure.
The food was beyond terrible
The only thing keeping this business afloat is the very friendly staff

Amazing views from property, very friendly, professional and attentive staff. Lola and Maria were very exceptional in making us feel comfortable, answering all our questions and giving us recommendations on things to do and consider in Santorini. The bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff were all very polite, respectful and very helpful (sorry if I couldn’t remember all the names but in short the entire staff was amazing). Rooms were kept spotless and villas were very quite and peaceful. Will certainly stay at Amber Light in near future.
My only issue is that I wish they had more Movie and sports channels to choose from. Besides this it was perfect.

Beautiful Quiet Hotel

Our stay was amazing! The hotel is in a quiet peaceful area of Imerovigli. It did take a minute to get use to driving uphill. We had a beautiful sunrise view. The breakfast and lunch we had there was delicious, way better than the expensive restaurants. We would stay here again when visiting Santorini.
