The hotel staff are extremely courteous and are so happy to help you from the moment you enter to when you check-out. The hotel is in a great location. It is relatively close to so many items of interest and there is always a tuk tuk or two waiting outside the hotel if you need a ride. Also, the Apsara show that is mentioned at check-in and occurs directly across the street is an absolutely must do. The dancers are so captivating and keep your attention the whole time. The breakfast is a great option with many choices!! The do give you two large water bottles a day to use to drink, which is a must while it was so hot during my stay.

CONS
The complex will take some exploring to figure out where things are. The pool is kind of hidden if you are staying on the other side of the complex. My room did a great job of staying cool during the daytime, but as soon as the sun went down it didn’t seem to be cooling at all. I also, must’ve been very unlucky because the first two nights I had what accounted to very large ants crawling on both beds in my room. Then the third day I came back to a mouse poop on the other bed sheet that I wasn’t using(luckily.) The cleaners would also clean up all the items that were on the sink counter in the restroom by putting the items into the glasses that you were supposed to be using to brush your teeth, therefore making them dirty. Kind of making them pointless to have in the room.

Amazing experience, can't recommend this hotel highly enough. It is truly enchanting. Luxury rooms in a botanical garden setting. Hard to capture the charm in photos. As soon as we walked in we were captivated by the gorgeous gardens, friendly staff and beautiful rooms. We stayed on the upper level and loved the water views and high ceilings. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. It was an incredible experience staying here, I can't recommend it highly enough!!!

Great Hotel in the Center of Siem Reap

The hotel was situated in the town center. Just a 5 minute walk from the markets and Pub Street. The hotel is beautiful and the service is even better. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. We also really enjoyed the pool. It was so hot in Siem Reap and it was nice just to get cooled off. I would highly recommend.

Great hotel in the city. In the rainy season it is hard to move around as you are outside (umbrella's are provided). Rooms are nice and there are no adjoining walls so noise is limited. Overhangs and plants make the rooms a bit dark (maybe second floor would be better). All in all a great hotel, good location, and reasonably priced for what you get.

This hotel was amazing and in a fabulous location. The welcome and departure drinks were a nice touch. The staff was friendly and prompt with reservations, tours and requests. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. I had the reflexology massage and it was fantastic, especially for the price. Enjoyed the pool. Outstanding location - near restaurants and bars as well as an easy walk to the central market, the night market and pub street. I stayed at another hotel in the area, which was awful compared to this hotel. The best and only place to stay in Siem Reap.

Amazing! A truly beautiful place that is calm and serene in the middle of the city. A few blocks from night markets and delicious food, as well as easy access to Angkor Wat and other historic sights.

Angkor Village hotel is a much different hotel experience. With the balconies and walkways, every room felt secluded and private. Mine had vaulted ceilings, great furnishings, and was exceptionally nice. In addition to an assortment of fruit provided in the room, the staff also brought cookies and other goodies every day.

The breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious as well.

We had a beautiful stay in Siem Reap which was largely due to this amazing resort and its lovely people. Our room was spacious with perfect bedding, overlooking the pool with treats in our room every night, the breakfast included a great mix of local and western delights. Beautiful hotel set in lush gardens and lily pond

We were surprised on our arrival to see some works happening to the restaurant area. The management apologised profusely and upgraded us to a suite - beautiful and huge! We loved our stay at this smaller hotel - more like a little village. The pool was not huge but ample and surrounded by trees which provided some shade at any time of the day. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were genuinely delighted to interact with us. Breakfast was ample food and the dinner we had (once the restaurant was finished) was delicious.
The location was great - away from the busy Pub Street area but close enough to easily walk - even in the heat - or take one of the tuk tuks waiting outside the hotel for US$2 to anywhere you wanted to go. Locally was convenience stores, shops, restaurants and massage salons.
We loved this hotel full of timber and plants - it had so much more character than a concrete block. Housekeeping was great, towels were plentiful. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stays at the Angkor Village Hotel. The staff are always attentive and helpful for us. Breakfast is enjoyable but would recommend to go before 8 am. Happy hours is high recommend and they make a very alcoholic cocktails. The only downside are that the WiFi only works in the lobby area and not in the room, also we just realized that we booked a room with a water view but we were put to a room with a garden - not a big deal but would be nice if they pay attention to details like these

Fantastic tropical retreat!

There are 2 different Angkor Village properties – one is the hotel, the other is the resort and spa. The hotel has lovely, traditional rooms spread out across numerous small wooden buildings connected by pathways through a gorgeous tropical garden and lily ponds. It’s a little on the rustic side: rooms have dark wood floors and furniture; a refrigerator, safe, hairdryer, A/C and telephone, but no TV; the Internet is completely unreliable even in public areas.

The open-air but shaded lobby is a beautiful place for relaxing and enjoying tropical drinks. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly warm, helpful and welcoming, happy to arrange tours and make reservations and explain things. Anything you want, they can make it happen, always with a smile.

There was a buffet breakfast the first day, but after that they switched to ordering from the menu. However, there was so much delicious food, and as much as you wanted of everything, that it was practically the same as a buffet. The hotel is conveniently located to town and the archaeological sites. We would definitely recommend it!

Place is beautiful, great breakfast, perfect location with small pool and amazing water garden. Just like the pictures.

Very bad WiFi, none in the room and very bad even in the lounge. Mosquitoes, even in the rooms, they should have netting. No cable and questionable plumbing.

That said I would stay at no other location if I return. It may not be for everyone but I loved it.

Amaxing stay for amazing price.

The stay at Angkor Village was great. Not only are they close to Angkor Wat, but they are close to great food, markets, and right in the middle of Cambodian culture. The hotel is stunning and the staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, we showed up a little earlier than the check in time, but they have a waiting area that is air conditioned, with tv, books, and a computer to wait in. (which was good since it was four hours.) We also received a free welcome drink which was great. They help to provide transportation and we got a tuktuk for our trips to Angkor Wat. Bou was great! We loved him! If you get transportation, ask for him. You won't regret it. It truly is a great stay.

Beautiful peaceful hotel in good location

The Angkor Village feels small and intimate situated in a well maintained tropical garden not far from town. The rooms are really comfortable having nice big windows looking out over the garden and a small seating area with good quality furniture. The staff are fabulous, friendly and efficient. We were greeted with cold towels every time we came from outside which was a really nice touch. The included breakfast was very good with a great choice from the menu served direct to table rather than the usual buffet affair. We did eat one evening in the restaurant and it was very good also, but a bit pricey. There is a nice hidden swimming pool area surrounded by palm trees. The pool is not big but very attractive and certainly enough for cooling down and a leisurely swim. Overall this was our favourite hotel we stayed in Cambodia and we would highly recommend it.

One of the worlds most unique hotels

A step back into time. This is probably Angkor Wat's oldest luxury hotel, about fifteen minutes to Angkor Wat.

The staff was attentive and caring during the five days we were there. The manager, Guillaume, went out of his way to help me with a little problem. Thank you Guillaume. You're great!

The grounds were beautiful and immaculate. If you go online to see what I'm talking about, the online pictures don't begin to show what you'll actually see in person.

Our room was very large and uniquely and luxuriously appointed with art objects. The view of the grounds from our room, the lobby and the restaurant was exquisite.

You could stay in a rectangular box hotel, but you'd experience a different Angkor Wat then we did. It's the little details that make a great hotel. For example, someone on the staff would always be there with a cold washcloth, to cool us down, when we returned from our daily adventures.

We also booked EXO Tour's to provide us with a large car, driver and knowledgeable tour guide for the five days we were there. 100% follow thorough, and much less expensive than you would think. Thank you EXO.

We got up at 3:30 AM to experience this sunrise over Angkor Wat. Well worth it.

Relaxing and beautiful!

You walk into the resort and immediately feel at peace. It's calming, beautiful, and immaculate. Every details was thought about by the management of Angkor Village Hotel from the chilled towels provided every time you return to the hotel to the departure ice tea. As a frequent traveler with very high standards this hotel went above and beyond my expectations. It's small which was lovely as the staff learns your name and even your food preferences/allergies. The location is convenient to the main tourist areas, and the pool is lovely.

Authentic Cambodian ambiance

Unique hotel experience in Siem Reap. The mahogany bungalows (near the restaurant) are spacious and well-appointed. Staff is uniformed, friendly and courteous. Loved the overall hotel and room ambiance. Breakfast experience was pleasant and menu (buffet) choices plentiful. The only slight annoyance was the loud maintenance work on the concrete pathway slats, consisting of loud chiseling and hammering (unavoidable maintenance). The absence of TV and wi-fi in the rooms was known in advance, and no impediment (wi-fi worked well in the lobby and restaurant). Was a little surprised a hotel of this caliber economized on energy by shutting down the electricity in the rooms when guests leave (the room key activates the electricity). Upon returning from temple visits in 95F (35C) degree heat,one welcomes arrival in a cool room, not a hot humid one. The air conditioning takes about 30 minutes to bring the room temperature to a comfortable level. If you want to experience a (colonial) Cambodian atmosphere, instead of a generic hotel suite, stay here. You'll remember it - in a good way.

Angkor Village Hotel is Superb

My wife and I stayed in the Angkor Village Hotel for 5 nights in January. The hotel is delightful. It is a small hotel constructed in traditional Camodian style, but to an extremely high standard and includes all the western facilities you could wish for - good AC, fantastic shower, etc. The staff cannot do enough for you. Great tour desk to arrange all of our temple tours, etc. Beautiful swimming pool to jump into after a hard day walking round the sights of Angor Wat. Very highly recommended.

We stayed 9 days for visiting sites and visiting friends as well as rest and relaxation.To walk, eat, wifi, drink, swim within a reasonably quiet tropical garden-what could be better. A absolutely loved this hotel and plan on staying there again when I return to Siem Reap. I loved the hotel grounds, and I booked a room overlooking the water. The hotel is in a convenient location, within walking distance to most things in Siem Reap. The room was very nice and comfortable. The only thing a little on the negative side was there was no WiFi in the rooms, but very easy to access in the hotel lobby area. There are no televisions in the room, but I do not find this to be a negative.

First of All we were a fifteen minute walk to the night market and a ton of good food. Their happy hour was relaxing because they brought us random snacks on the house. Lastly their turnover services were so cute! They gave us cookies and Buddhist fables as a night cap on the bed. No wifi, except in business \"centre\" and lobby. Normally, may not be so bad, but lobby is open air and mosquito abound.

If it matters to you, there's no tv. Breakfast is also in open air spot, so you'd better bring bug repellant.

Having said this, very polite staff (although very little English is spoken or understood).

Good for a couple who want to disconnect from technology.

Lovely hotel with lovely service

The hotel was beautiful and the room was well-decorated in Cambodian style. The service was great. Staff went out of their way to help out and make your vacation better. Short walk from the market area which could be tiring in hot 90'+ temperature but very easy to do in the evening. Breakfast was average with the exception of great chocolate croissants.

Cons: no TV or wifi in room. Wifi is available in lobby which is not in an air conditioned room. Deal with mosquitoes at your own risk!

Perfection; beautiful; relaxed

What a beautiful and romantic getaway; perfectly located, close to the night market but the moment you entered from the street, you are transported to a jungle, an oasis. The staff are so kind and unassuming; breakfast is perfect. It's so pretty and worth every penny.

old-world charm & peaceful retreat in town

This hotel is a FIND for those weary of tall buildings and elevators. Each room is a spacious Wooden bungalow surrounded by lush gardens & ponds in the town of Siem Reap. (20 minutes by tuk-tuk to ruins or Angkor Wat.) The staff spoiled us with kindness & willingness to please. They brought us extra Bottled water & peppermint incense.The breakfast buffet is an abundant combo of western & Asian. The croissants were as Good as in París. They make homemade yogurt & local fruit jams. Coffee & tea are served in porcelain pots. The restaurant is on a little Island, beautifully lit at night. WiFi is in reception área and library only. Do not come here to work! No TV - Thankfully! The staff can arrange a Sunrise tríp to the ruins and pack up your breakfast. They have, drivers and guides. They helped us locate a store that sells batteries. The hotel also has a Cambodian dance theater across the street. We saw a sweet show-food was ok but not great. Most memorable place for the charming local staff. It is an oasis of beauty & calm, unique and really comfortable.

The location was excellent being close to all the markets and Pub Street but far enough away for real peace and quiet. The alfresco dining for breakfast and dinner was wonderful. Everything we tried was excellent and presented beautifully. The grounds are gorgeous. We were that maintenance was taking place in rooms around the pool area on a Friday afternoon when we wanted to swim and lounge but the smells and noise cut that short. It was also surprising to learn there was no television in the rooms, though there was a community lounge near the lobby where one could watch something with others. In addition, we requested a late check out Saturday evening as our flight was going to leave very late on Sunday night we were not allowed to stay even past 12 even though we know the hotel was not at capacity. We wound up just leaving Saturday morning and checking in at another hotel across from the National Museum for a very reasonable price. As another reviewer pointed out, when presented our final bill we were asked for more tips for the employees even through we had been tipping as we were served. We declined. So while it was a beautiful stay overall, there were enough things that tainted the experience that next time I'll look elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of the city

First have to say that once you enter the hotel you feel being transported to a distant place outside the city! Inside the gardens are so beautiful! The staff is really friendly and the room was in excellent condition. We loved our stay and definitely would recommend other to stay here.

So much potential! But not quite there!

So I booked the stay after being in Siam Reap for a week and stopped with a friend who had stayed there years before, the facility was so beautiful, sadly the service and in particular some details I found most disappointing.
My issues are with training not with the actual staff. First let me say that the physical facility and the grounds are just amazingly pretty, with the grounds-keepers and staff generally happy and polished. Here are my specific issues and these are easily correctable.
1. The rooms are very nice but the following: bathroom could actually use a good scrubbing, floor tile was stained and the toilet had not been cleaned well recently (I was able to remove the brown ring in the toilet with just using the toilet)
2. At check-out I was specifically asked to tip the general staff despite not having received any service for I hadn't already tipped the staff (I left money for housekeeper, tipped barstaff directly, etc etc) I think this practice is horrible and there is no reason to ask for a group tip at check-out...it feels like a shake-down as I still had services that the hotel was left to render (specifically an airport transfer) and I felt if I didn't tip would I even make my connection or lose a bag out of spite?
3. If you have a lobby bar then the lobby bar staff should be trained to inquire to their guests for service, instead the obby bar staff just stood there despite the fact I had a. an empty glass b. no service at all...

What a beautiful hotel ... from the abundant tropical plants to the professional and courteous staff to the clean and well decorated rooms. A short walk to town center and to many different temples (wat), made it easy to come and go without a schedule.

Christina the hotel manager is fabulous! She gave us a lot of great ideas, helped get us a guide, booked a car and driver for us, made ester actions at some great restaurants and was overall very helpful. The staff are not as competent though they are friendly. The hotel itself has an interesting Khmer architecture vibe and is clean which makes it worth staying at though there is no tv or wifi in the rooms and the bathroom was quite dated. Location is fabulous -- close enough to walk to the Old Market. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall, worth staying at as long as you don't really care about the things this hotel does not have.

I really enjoyed staying at this boutique hotel. The traditional teak house artchitecture in lush tropical grounds is the big draw, its also nice to have a pool to relax by given there is no beach in Sieam Reap.

Enchanting place to stay in Siem Reap.

Loved everything! A very lovely and truly interesting place to stay while visiting the temples. Very good location. Staff extremely helpful even in a medical situation. You will feel like you are in the REAL Cambodia, not some sterile hotel. Stay here for sure.

Great stay. My only minor compliant was very slow internet in the room. But it is fine in the very relaxing lounge area. The location is perfect if you want peace and quite but still ten minutes walk away from all the action in town.

Excellent choice in Siem Reap

Unique and comfortable hotel which is a comfortable refuge in this bustling small city. While very comfortable in all ways, it has the unaffected feeling of a traditional Cambodian village. Very hospitable, and very different from typical chain or Western hotels. They are pleased to arrange sightseeing for you (the best is a tuk-tuk for the day to go to Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and the lake: Tonle Sap. The small theatre across the street - connected with the hotel - has the best cultural dance performance in the region and is very worthwhile. We would come back to this hotel for certain.

Better than I had imagined

As soon as we walked in we were greeted and served tea while we were presented with a bunch of different tour options. It was raining and were given umbrellas to use to get to our rooms since they are separate cabins connected by walkways. The rooms were nicely furnished, with fresh dragonfruit, plantains, and rambutan on the table. The bathroom was very nice with a shower stall, lotus flowers, toothbrushes, and a wooden bench. The pool is refreshing, there is no lifeguard so you'll have to watch your kids, but it is shaded very well with nice lounge chairs and curtained \"beds\" and towels are available for free at the pool. The staff is very helpful in reserving tours and activities and even ordering us a taxi to Poipet upon departure. It's a short walk of 4 blocks to the market and pub street, or you can grab a tuk tuk which is usually just on the corner of the street of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice as well, the crepes are amazing, so is the fruit. Dinner is a little pricey but the portions are large enough to share. Around 7 each night one of the staff will come by and over a turn-down service and give you a local \"bedtime\" story and two cookies. The overall atmosphere is amazing and it never felt crowded. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if I'm in Siem Reap.

Angkor Villages,

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, the location is good and close to the main spots to visit in Siem Reap. Room for two is big and bathroom was nice (shower only). One of the doors of our balcony, didn't close properly and they fixed it up right away... room was very clean as well as the rest of the hotel. There was no TV in the room-- wasn't an inconvenience to me at all. Service was EXCELLENT, very nice, willing to help and well mannered. The dinning area is mesmerizing, with a pond surrounding the building and full of plants. Swimming pool area was also great. I highly recommend you the visit and the stay at this hotel.

If you want downtown but also with a feeling of peace and tranquility then this is the place.

Resort fabulous, staff excellent, food amazing!

Had a WIFI connection problem in the room and they develivered. The problem was solved the next day!

Great Place to Relax

Very calm & peaceful retreat after a day of steamy sightseeing. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Staff were very nice and accomodating. Recommend to anyone, but with young children their resort with a pool would be a better choice.

Wonderful ambiance and service

Beautiful, very traditional, wooden structures on a large boardwalk over ponds full of lotuses, ancient sampans, etc. Beautiful room but lacking in wifi and in hot water (erratic supply). Location not too far from local activities, but not great. In spite of drawbacks, the incredible ambiance makes it very much worthwhile.

Angkor Villa Hotel

Great looking hotel just across the street of the Theatre. We had a little inconvenient with the breakfast since we were in the sunrise at angkor and when comeback at 9 they had no bread for breakfast, buffet was not longer in service and charged us for an extra juice. The service was good anyway.

Angkor Village Hotel is awesome!

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful, quite, and authentic experience in Siem Reap. The food and drinks at the hotel restaurant and bar were excellent. The rooms were clean and well kept, surrounded by serene lotus ponds. The bed was firm and comfortable. The staff was perfect in every way, friendly, informed, and totally accommodating. I cannot say enough about my experience here, but in sum, it was perfect. Another bonus is the convenient location in walking distance to the old market and the night market as well as other sites in town. Also, across the street is the hotel's fabulous Apsara theater, an experience that should not be missed!

The company has 2 hotels in Siem Reap and does not make it clear. We wrongly booked wrong one and had no access to refund booking and both hotels are far apart no access to gym which we wanted.
