This hotel contacted us immediately after we made the reservation. After having a terrible experience with another hotel listed on Expedia, we were in a very difficult situation, so this place felt like a lifesaver to us.

The location was very convenient—within walking distance of the Old Quarter, yet slightly removed from its hustle and bustle. Our room had a balcony and double-glazed windows, so we couldn’t hear any outside noise.

Having breakfast included was also a great help. We especially loved the musical motifs incorporated throughout the interior design.

Quite possibly the worst hotel stay of our trip so far. We have been through Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue and now Hanoi. And we have encountered over the top service and regular levels of service. But this hotel is probably the bottom when it comes to experience.

The gentleman checking us in at 6pm was pleasant. But the ladies who are at the reception at check out time are probably the most sour I have encountered so far in this country. We came in pretty early on check in day and rooms weren’t available, which was understandable. But, not even a smile of welcome was a little surprising. There is an upcharge is you ask for a fresh cup of tea bag tea at breakfast buffet. Even that I can understand. However, what was hard for me was no offer to help with luggage as we were checking out. They could see I have 4 senior citizens with me, but they didn’t offer a porter even once. We were going to stay here again for our last night in Hanoi but glad we could cancel. We will take our chances elsewhere. At $100/night, this was the most expensive hotel so far with the least professional service.

The rooms were fine. The shower was a little on the small side. The balcony can seat one comfortably. However the bedspread is too small for the large bed. So if there are two in the room, hopefully you like to snuggle. The hotel appears to be more geared towards large tour groups so that can also impact service and interaction.

Staff were very helpful. Rooms are good. The deluxe room has double glazing which blocks all the traffic noise, though I found the standard room was OK. Breakfast could be better.

Probably on normal times, this hotel is ok. But days before NYE, the keycards weren’t working and no one could get in their rooms - so they gave us actual keys.

Also, on NYE - staff barged into our room while we were in bed. Funny enough to leave us a gift - and wouldn’t leave without giving it to us. Terrible timing and no knock.

Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Very friendly when we checked in. We were staying one extra night from our tour and the night that I booked myself was an upgrade and they let us stay in this room for the full four nights that we would be staying in this hotel for no extra charge because we are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary..

We were initially given a room with two twin beds that ended up being across the hall from a very loud banquet room, complete with sound check. It was also missing some ceiling trim. We asked for and were given a new room, but paying four star prices, we expect better in the first place.

The breakfast buffet was notably good.

Safe place and very close to tourist spots. Staff are friendly, though you need to wake up early if you want to enjoy the buffet since they only have limited seats. And they don’t refill the food unless you get their attention.

Comfortable, spacious rooms on a quiet side street mere blocks away from the vibrant hum of the Old Quarter and 5 minute walk away from Hoan Kim Lake and the surrounding shops and sights. Located in a safe neighborhood, the helpful staff at this hotel make sure you lack for nothing. Highly recommend!

Only strange experience was having to pay $9 for a spare key because we dropped a key card on a river cruise!

It's a great hotel with great location. Spacious and clean room, super king size double bed, great breakfast, great location ( in the case that you wish to be slightly away from the busy and noisy street ), friendly and helpful staffs. Worth for the value comparing to those in Old Quarters.

Hotel itself is very nice, but on a run down street. It’s 2 blocks from upscale shopping, the lake and the consulates but still felt off the path. Staff was professional but not friendly or service-minded. The bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor.

Do not like: the 3 beds are too hard, bathroom has no door only curtain, no intimacy. Big construction in front of hotel, very noisy.

Suggestion: use Pearl Hotel instead

Nice hotel, good location, but noisy area

Nice hotel in the center of Hanoi, close to the opera house, the lake and the local old district and market. The problem is construction! There are two high rise buildings under construction 24/7 and its very noisy all day (including at night) inside the hotel, in the room and in the surrounding area.

Maybe it was due to weather in December or maybe the room is at the far end of the corridor/building, but we felt humidity in the room.
Door was wide open when we checked in the room, a bit unusual when you are checking in.

Nice hotel, but noisy surroundings

The hotel is ok, located in the old city, walking distance to the lake, opera and shopping district. The challenge is construction from both sides of the hotel. Two high rise buildings are under construction with work 24/7. Noisy all the time, including in the rooms. It’s hard to sleep without ear plugs, and very noisy inside the hotel

The hotel is situated very close walking distances to central Hanoi. However , there is a noisy construction near the hotel.
The staff was welcoming and polite . We stayed in two different accommodations: one was the family suite and another was two adjoining bedrooms . We first stayed in the family suite. We have asked to move to the adjoining rooms as the single beds were extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sleep in . The staff moved us the next day to the adjoining rooms which had much better beds .
The hotel’s breakfast buffet was fair .

From the pictures and the description, I was expecting a slightly higher standard for this hotel. However, I had an excellent stay! Yes, some features look a little dated, the hotel reception/lounge is a little small (compare to what I expected), but it doesn't really matter and it did not impact the quality of my stay.

The hotel staff is excellent. The staff at the bar has limited English proficiency, but the staff at reception has no problem speaking English. There is a very nice buffet breakfast in the morning. The food is good.

The room was good - nothing special to report. It was clean. The hotel was located about 10 min walk from both the lake (nice and very lively to walk around on Friday/Saturday nights) and the Opera house. I felt safe when going back to the hotel every night.

I would come back to this hotel again. It is a good quality/price ratio.

A Very Pleasant Surprise

The hotel is right at border of the French Quarter and the Old Quarter. The staff is very helpful and courteous, especially Mr. Qiup Nguyen. The rooms are spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast is sumptuous with something for everyone’s palate. I highly recommend this 3 Star property.

Great hotel offering friendly service and staff. Location is perfect for the business area as well as for visitingthe lake and old quarter. Free Wi-Fi and water provided. Good range at buffet breakfast offering continental and Asian foods.
