Located at decent area in Hanoi, a bit far from hustle and bustle of old town.still cozy restaurants and shops are nearby.and walking distance from old town.
Staffs are very kind and friendly.they prepared the morning food box for me to check out 3 a.m. to catch my flight.
One thing I missed is hot shower after soaking myself in hot bathtub.once fulfill the bathtub by hot water, shower’s water is not hot enough.
Overall conifer boutique hotel is worth its cost and I will chose this hotel when I come back to Hanoi.

The staff at Conifer Boutique Hotel make your stay with them a wonderful experience.

Both concierge Liam and Quan were the absolute best. They are intelligent, friendly and excellent providing the highest level of guest services. I arrived very late at night Quan was willing and able to help get me settled into my room. Liam was brilliant.

I watch how they are both consummate professionals.

The rest of the staff work well together as a team. Helping each other out when the hotel was slammed with a bus load of passengers and many stayed to eat the delicious food that is served at the hotel.

The morning breakfast has many delicious choices, and excellent coffee.

I only had one bad experience when another concierge refused to call a taxi for me and as a result I fell on the sidewalk while trying to find my way to my destination.

The conifer is an intimate boutique hotel with all the amenities, but none of the officiousness. We enjoyed our two nights stay with them tremendously, and I highly recommend this property.

It is well located and yet slightly off track from the high tourist areas.

Arrived at 12:30am the gentleman that greeted us was lovely.
We had two rooms 802 & 1001
802 had a balcony, 1001 did not
Both rooms were spacious, however a few things in the room have seen better days.
Paint walls were stained and some had water damage peeling.
Bathroom fixtures had a thick layer of limestone
Shower curtain could be replaced.
Bathroom glass had blinds from the outside however you could see everything inside the bathroom. Would not recommend to book for non couples or people who require privacy while using the loo.

The bedsheets were surprisingly super clean…

This place has so much potential and in a great spot. Proper Reno’s ( not just a coat of paint) and this place could be a true boutique hotel.

The Conifer Boutique Hotel is the only place for min in Hanoi. This was my second time there and they did not disappoint. The staff is genuinely friendly and the facilities are comfortable and clean.
Breakfast presents you with vegetable and meat options and plenty of fresh fruit. The juices are made on site.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Hanoi.

Incredibly close to the Opera house which is convenient given the Opera house is a primary staging area for travel pick-up and drop off.
A little noisy from traffic but quieted down at night and was not bad at all.
The pastries at breakfast (croissants) were top notch! We sat at breakfast and watched them walk over fresh trays of pastries from the bakery across the street. I should have stuffed some in my pockets to eat later ;)

Really good option in quiet upscale neighbourhood

We got the suite with balcony for the 3 of us (2 adults and one 6-year old who was allowed to sleep on the sofa) and had a really nice time. 8th floor overlooking a quiet street, Starbucks across the street as a bonus. Very well located near the Opera, at walking distance from the lake. Staff was super nice. Breakfast not amazing but good enough (except coffee).

Buffet breakfast was awesome, and their coffee/bakery goods are divine! The staff were very accommodating and friendly- their hospitality was really great. Our room was very clean, bed was really comfortable and the space was adequate for our luggage. Bathroom and AC unit may need to be updated though. Massage service was very nice, too. One thing, our room was at the end of the hall, so the layout was a little odd but still spacious.

Enjoyable stay, nice area not to noisey. We were able to walk to all the main areas. Room was clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and helped us organise transport on short notice. Breakfast area space is limited so we bit overcrowded trying to walk around everyone when it’s busy. However the next morning we were the only ones in th so it was fine.

It is in the center of the city and so close to the Opera house yet it is on very quiet charming street. It was not a big room, but spacious and had nice balcony to the charming street.

Perfect hotel, excellent location, wonderful staff

What a wonderful little gem of a place!

From the moment we arrived (our first day in Vietnam), the staff were warm & welcoming, which always sets the tone of a hotel experience.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and have a beautiful cosy feel about them. They are smaller than a typical room (influenced by the French architecture), but are perfectly adequate for a couple.

The much added benefit of a balcony was a real treat, as it was perfect for us to relax with a morning coffee, or watching the sunset with a beer after a day of sightseeing.

The location in the French Quarter is perfect, as its only a 5-10 min walk from the Old Quater (whatever you do dont stay in the Old quarter!!!). Its around the corner from the Hanoi Opera House and right behind the Sofitel Metropole (most well known high-end hotel in Hanoi). It’s surrounded by wonderful restaurants & shopping and its in a quiet leafy street!!

Breakfast was a little bland, but more than sufficient. Decent room service and a wonderful boutique wine shop next door.

Dont bother looking anywhere else as this is the perfect place to stay!!

Best part of Hanoi’s Old Quarter to stay

The hotel is centrally located to the best tourist area in Hanoi for shops and food. This hotel is located on a quiet street surrounded by a lot of nearby sites: e.g., the opera house, lake Hoan Kiem, the old quarter, the old church, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the middle of the action while being located on a quiet street away from the hustle and noise of Hanoi.

The images of the hotel looks a little different from when seeing it up close and personal. The effect of a large hotel is immediately brought to non the moment I arrive at the lobby. If you are a frequent traveller to Europe and in particular Paris, then the rooms are of that size, looking traditional with lots of wood and the bed is a little hard. They should just make do without the bath tub as if your 6' tall, you will bump your head. Bathtubs are so old fashion and out of date. Apart from the size of the room, the service is pretty acceptable. They try to accommodate as much as they can and in my instance, it was downgrading me to a Tatami room on the top floor / attic which was completely different from what I booked as my current room that they had allocated to me had electrical issues.

I was prepared to check out and move to another hotel and have my refund in full. But they asked for time to get the room sorted out to which i offered in return.

Would I return? Location is great but the rooms look tired. However, considering your only at the hotel for a total of 12 hours max out of which 10 hours is left sleeping, it should be fine.

The bed may need a change and don't forget to request fro extra pillows.

As our first time in Hanoi and in Vietnam this hotel was the perfect introduction that we needed. Very friendly and welcoming and perfect location, very central and close to everything but very quiet and away from the load noise and craziness of the old town.

Good location in the French Quarter

We stayed here three nights total in between a cycling tour. The staff was welcoming and very professional. Both times we stayed we were upgraded to a nicer room. I would avoid the 'upgrade\" to the 10th floor suite. Although it has a bathtub instead of a wet bath, the tub is raised which means unless you are 4 feet tall, the showerhead will hit you in the middle of your chest. Not so good! Aside from that, the room was clean, quiet and very nicely appointed.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and by the end of the trip it had become home. The rooms are luxurious for the price and the staff treats you like family. The breakfast had a range of delicious options and the hotel is tucked away quietly in the French quarter yet a 5 minute walk to the lake. Perfection. I'll be back.

A bit of an oasis in Hanoi

We stayed in two hotels during our time in Hanoi. The first was in the heart of the Old Quarter. The second was the Conifer which is located near the opera house in the French Quarter. We much preferred our stay at the Conifer. Both for the hotel itself, and the location.

First, the location. More than once we walked around the corner at the end of the block on which the Conifer sits and we commented on the little slice of tranquility that exists there. This is a great perk in Hanoi (birds can actually be heard chirping on that block). Believe me, this is not the case in most sections of Hanoi. The location is also wonderful for its proximity to the fun pandemonium that is the Old Quarter. For example, the Conifer is a 15 minute stroll to the Cathedral in the heart of the Old Quarter. It is really fun to spend the day and evening eating/drinking/shopping in the Old Quarter, and then return to the relative tranquility of the area in which the Conifer is located.

The Hotel itself: The hotel is quite comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was great. The staff were wonderful. I had regular interactions with several of the front desk staff, a couple of bellman, and one breakfast server in particular. Most spoke very good English. All were beyond charming, and very helpful. This is where we will stay when we return to Hanoi.

A great little hotel in the heart of Hanoi.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It was a little smaller in size, each floor only had like 3 rooms. The WiFi was great and their daily breakfasts were excellent and delicious. There were numerous selections of food, but because of their limited space, you have to order food from the staffs. The staffs were friendly and helpful. There area of town was a little expensive. Across the street there is a Starbucks and a very fancy French restaurant.

Neat little gem

We were originally thinking of staying at The Sofitel Legend Metropole nearby , but we decided against it after reading the service reviews for Conifer Boutique Hotel - we were not disappointed and wish we could have stayed longer. From the reception to the dining room, all the staff were extremely hospitable and ready to assist. The hotel location is fantastic - close to the opera house and pretty within a very reasonable walking distance of all the sights. The rooms are a little tight (especially the bathroom/ shower area) but you won't feel it so much if you book one with a balcony.

A perfect choice!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel - the staff were (genuinely!) friendly and welcoming. The hotel is small enough that it feels much more personal than a stay in one of the big hotels, and the staff all offered a very friendly return welcome after a day out...
The room was clean, spacious and with a cute little balcony with plants to make it feel a little more private. Breakfast at the hotel was tasty, with lots of variety, and included in the room cost. Location of the hotel is perfect - away from the tourist area a little bit, but still very centrally located, nice streets with food venues, bars, and a friendly feel.
All in all, this was great value, and I had a really comfortable experience at this hotel. This is definitely now my hotel of choice for future visits to Hanoi!

Could be a very nice place, unfortunately the facilities need a major overhaul: hot water, water pressure, noise from other rooms (talking, toilet noise, etc) elevator, room was small, dark. Staff is perfunctory at best, language problems, mediocre breakfast, room was very dusty. Manager tries hard but uphill battle. If I had paid 50% less I wouldn't complain. I did stay during high season and the hotel was busy, but I think this is no excuse for lackluster performance from staff. There are many hotels in Hanoi around the same price, choose carefully unless one does not want to stay in the Old Quarter (which is fine--just busy and more \"funky\"). As a tourist it's the \"little things\" in a hotel that count, and all of those small experiences were unpleasant at this hotel--as previously mentioned. I'm guessing the only rooms one would enjoy are the larger balcony rooms on the high floors, which I reserved but ended up in a much smaller room on my arrival; and if one did not eat breakfast there, and if one does not spend much time in the hotel (as most tourists). Cheers to the manager for trying his best but forces are against him.

The hotel situated in a very advantageous location walking distance to the lake, parks and restaurants. The staff is really friendly and even the budget room is enjoyable. Breakfast is also nice containing local food too and nice fruits. I find only the shower which was below the standards but all other amenities were nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay in Conifer, as it was like a shelter from busy Hanoi.

We originally booked one night, but we ended up staying for five nights. The staff were great, the location is perfect, the room was very comfortable and breakfast was nice.

It was easy to find excellent street food or restaurants or cafes or whatever you want. Walking to sights, parks, bus station, etc is easy too.

My new home in Hanoi

Overall very solid. Back facing rooms very quiet (but only 1 per floor so ask in advance). Front facing rooms have balconies and sliding glass and noise OK for most people but for fanatics I don't recommend.

Other points:

Water: They give you only two tiny bottles and then kind of foot dragged when I asked for more. So they give all these modern things like aircon, wifi, elevators and not enough of man's most basic need which costs just pennies. I had the experience of waking up at 5am once with hangover and no water. Scarred me for life and now because of the trauma I need 3 liters at bedside even if I rarely drink more than 1.

Light switch: In some of the rooms the light switch is in the middle of the headboard 1 inch above the top of the mattress so behind the pillow. So if you roll the wrong way at night you can turn on the light and you wake up with the light mysteriously on. Also it took forever to even find the switch because it was behind the pillows. Really dumb!!

Location: Dead center near Metropole (at 1/4 the price) but don't assume any way you walk there will be convenience stores, noodle shops etc. It's not the like the old part of town. I walked for blocks and blocks just trying to get noodles assuming there would be a shop at every corner but there wasn't. So if you want something ask concierge which way to go and it's probably close.

Other than that place is very solid choice.

Great hotel in amazing location close to the opera house, and all central activities. Friendly check-in, very attentive and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Ask for a balcony room, we had one on the 4th floor and nice to be able to sit there before bed and take in the city sights and sounds.

The staff are extremely helpful however, I stayed twice and on the first occasion, there was a cigarette butt in the shower and on the second occasion, there was mould on the wall. To be fair, the staff immediately rectified the situation and have me a free upgrade.

what a huge drop in quality

I have been many times to this hotel and it is getting worse and worse. I first had to change my room due to horrible smell. When got the new room, there was no hot water and aircon was not working for 2 days. THe safety box didn't work and had to be replaced 2nd day. And there was a nail on the floor that could dangerously injure guests. Better staying away form western food on the hotel restaurant menu, not only it taste horrible, but also suspicion on un-fresh food being served. Staff doesn't speak English, but tries to be helpful. Except the doorman who had very bad attitude and literally dumped my luggage on the floor. This used to be great hotel but is now falling apart and service if becoming very bad. This being said the location is great and the price is descent if getting the right promo.

Excellent boutique hotel in great location.

Location is a highlight; away from the madness of the old quarter but just minutes away and just two block from Hoan Kiem lake . Beautifully appointed rooms. Service is good but not exceptional, food also.

neat hotel

definitely a boutique hotel, but in a great location with plenty of good eating choices within walking distance. staff was excellent, as good of service as you will find. only bummers were how close the beds were located (actually touching) and the shower head height. the rain shower was below my head, but that was only because my head was touching the cealing (keep in mind I am only 6' 1\" tall). enjoyable stay none the less.

Great small boutique Hotel

Conifer Hotel is a small boutique hotel located just inside the Hoan Kim district. Whereas other small hotels are located in total touris area where everything is so crowded, Conifer located a little bit on the side. For those of guest tha tlike a more quiter and private , then this is the right choice.
The staff were very friendly and everytime you called for service the staff came right up very fast. I would highly recommend this hotel for eveyone.

Nice hotel & great value

Stayed 3 times at the Conifer. The location is fabulous and the staff are very helpful. The rooms vary: the suites are quite nice but there are some nasty looking simple rooms in the back. The bathrooms are good and spotless but the showers are a challenge if you are taller than 5'6.

All-in-all the Conifer is well run and a great value for the location. We will return.

Hidden gem in Hanoi.

We were very surprised by the Connifer Hotel. The hotel is in a great location in the French Quater and close enough to walk to the lake and the Old Quater.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful without bring intrusive. They all speak a high level of English and their service quality is exceptional.

The room is clean and fresh (not musty smelling) and the bed is very comfortable. The shower is clean and the turn over service is very thorough.

Breakfast was okay. Typical hotel buffet breakfast. There are many places to eat that are walking distance also.

Will def. stay again when we are in Hanoi.

A Beautiful Little Gem

This hotel knows how to treat their guests. The staff pay lots of attention to detail from the fresh fruit everyday in your room, to the variety of food at the breakfast buffet to the little packages of cookies at night that they bring to your room. If the breakfast buffet didn't quite have what you were looking for, they would prepare it for you.

The hotel staff made arrangements for pick up and drop off at the airport for 25 US dollars each way which is about a 1 hour trip. They also helped us plan our trip to Halong Bay with Go Asia Tours. Excellent tour company.

This hotel is in a great location. Easy walking distance to the market, lake, opera house, Old Quarters. This appeared to be a safe neighbourhood for evening walking. There may be cheaper places to stay but without a doubt would absolutely stay here again.

Easy walk to old ten and lae

Very much enjoyed staying at the conifer. It s directly across the street from the Sofitel metropole - a 5 star hotel. The staff were very helpful, stayed on the 8th floor with a balcony - a very large room. Breakfast was very good and we had a very nice dinner there also. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine in the room. All this for a moderate price. I recommend this hotel highly.

Really enjoyed a one night stay here. The staff were excellent - due to a slight error on Hotel.com's part our request for a twin room was replaced with a seemingly standard request for a king sized bed! Not the hotel's fault, but they upgraded us to alleviate the problem. The room was nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The location is a short taxi from the heart of the old quarter, and the reception staff made an excellent recommendation for dinner in a restaurant closeby. I'd definitely stay here again if I returned to Hanoi, highly recommended.

An excellent hotel, with friendly staff, nice decor, good location and comfortable bed.
Staff went out of their way to provide good service throughout my stay. The only minor negatives were that the standard room had only a shower, rather than the shower/tub combination decsribed, and the room window was on a L-shaped alcove, meaning natural light was dim. However, the window did open which meant the room was well ventillated and did not suffer from the mustiness common to hotels in this region. Overall the hotel was excellent and staff exceptional. I also applaud the hotel for addressing the problem of dishonest taxi drivers in Ha Noi which has a negative impact on the tourist industry as a whole. The best hotel I have stayed at in Ha Noi among many trips there.
