The room was nice, clean, and very spacious. I loved that each room had their own jacuzzi outside of the room. Staff was friendly, love that they offer to help book activities, massages and they also have transportation to and from airport. The area was quiet, walkable to the shopping area. The hotel staff (Dimitris) welcomed us with a bottle of wine and great recommendations of things to do while on the island. He was very helpful and checked us into our incredible room with a great view from the hot tub. The hotel is walking distance to many shops and restaurants, perfect location. I would definitely stay here again.

The Altemar suites is in a nice quiet part of Fira, off the main strip with a beautiful sunrise facing view off your balcony in the morning. The hot tub is not hot, the hot tub is warm. But otherwise everything else was fantastic. The concierge helped arrange excursions and they were all amazing experiences. Highly recommend.

The location was quiet and just off a main road on the east side of Fira. The property and grounds are well kept. Our suite was large, very nice bathroom and shower. Bedroom and living room large also. Minibar area with sink, coffe maker, toaster, refrigerator. Bottled water and coffee replenished every day. Parking area is small and limited. Short walk to anywhere in town. Dimitris was wonderful, very helpful with, making reservations for us for sailing trip and restaurants. Suggestions for things to do and see.

Altemar was incredible. Dimitrios at the front desk was super helpful with anything we could ask for, and has great suggestions for things to do.
The location is great, just out of the way of the super busy Fira streets, but close enough to where you can walk to see the sunset. Would definitely visit again.

Dimitris helped us get a last minute island tour with an amazing tour guide (Ted). We only had 1day in Santorini, & the tour was a perfect way to see the highlights of the island.

From the minute that we arrived we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The views are stunning!! It is lovely and quiet even though it is only a short walk to the shops and restaurants. I loved the individual mini pools for each room. A great place to watch the sunrise which is just as beautiful as the sunsets. Dimitris was so helpful. Be sure to book your excursions with him as he will ensure a great experience. Overall we loved our stay!

This hotel is very convenient. It is located 5 minutes walking distance to Fira’s downtown, the rooms are nice and super clean, and the property is very good. Dimitri, the host, was amazing! He made as feel at home. I would definitely recommend for quality/benefit ratio in Santorini.

Dimitri, the manager, was amazing from the moment we got there till the day we left. He recommended many dinner places and desserts places that were all hits. He also suggested multiple excursions, we went with the cooking class, that all sounded fun!
The area is a close walk to the “downtown” core, but isn’t too loud if you want to hang out in the hot tub in the evening.
We can’t wait to return to Santorini to come back and stay at Altemar!

Staffs are amazing. I left my swimming suits and other stuffs in the hotel after check out but cleaning crew found them and set them aside by my luggages after check out. They were amazing. You could totally trust these crews. Demitri was also helpful in organizing the taxis and excursions. Location is great close to food and shops. Property is clean and new. View is nice, peak of ocean. Good deal for the price.

Worst customer service I’ve ever had

I received an email the day of checkin at 1pm saying reception is closed at 5pm and I need to call the emergency number on the door and someone will accommodate us directly to our room. My booking receipt clearly states checkin is open til midnight. After a day of traveling from Canada, my flight arrives at 7pm so when we arrive at hotel I use my phone but the number doesn’t work because I don’t have a Greek SIM card. After 30 mins I am able to borrow a kind passerby’s phone and call. No one comes to help, I’m told to go to room101 and the key is there. Someone else is in 101 so my wife, son and I decide to check all the other rooms to find the open one. The suites are all over but we find it(30 mins more). When I explain the situation in morning to Dimitri, he says we give no apologies and explains the govt only lets him work 8hrs(so hire someone to cover it, right?) Another thing to note is the ‘hottub’ is only allowed to go to 33 degrees and they won’t raise it so don’t pay extra for it if you like hot tubs that are actually hot. And lastly, there were lots of small bugs all dead outside our entrance when we arrived and after the room was cleaned the next day, they were all still there so attention to cleanliness is almost as low on the priority list as customer service. When I asked Dmitri the next day if he had spoken to the owner about me, he replied “for what?” Come visit Santorini but don’t stay here.

Demitri is a lovely host and provided a fresh water bottle and Nespresso pod every day for us, and arranged a ride to the airport cheaper than the local taxis. We will stay here whenever we are back to Santorini!!

First, Dimitrios K. provided wonderful service to us and suggested different outings and restaurants to try. He arranged transportation pickups and dropoffs, and arranged last minute in-room facials and massages for my friend and I. The hotel was close to Fira shopping and restaurants. The views from the hotel were beautiful. Each of the suites have their own private balcony and hot tub. The only “con” of this stay was the temperature of the hot tub, could have been warmer, but that might be an American preference.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This was a very central location and it was easy to get to everything. The room was well laid out and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a bit disappointing, but the pool was lovely!
Our experience was tainted when the hotel cancelled the room of one our group members the day before we were to leave for our trip. We were 4 couples travelling together. Also the email that was sent to them was only in Greek and luckily we were able to translate it. They had to scramble to find a hotel and it was an 8 minute walk away. It complicated our days and took away from family time. Neither Expedia nor the hotel took responsibility and we were really disappointed.
The gentleman at the front desk, Dimitri, was quite rude to us when we checked in ( condescending ) and aggressively tried to get us to buy a tour package through him. He never apologized on behalf of the hotel for the cancellation and just shrugged his shoulders when we asked him what happened.
Luckily we were able to manage with everything but we would have really liked some kind of apology from the hotel or Expedia.
Another disappointing issue was parking. We had rented a vehicle for 2 days and we were assured that parking wouldn’t be a problem. It was.
That being said, the property is very nice and very centrally located.

The actual room was very nice and clean. Hot tub was cold which was a big minus. The host was friendly but was adamant on going to Ferry Port early since its \"busy\" and booked our transport time for that. Only took 15 minutes to get there. Lovely hotel, lovely room in nice part of Fira

Great hotel in a nice part of Fira (5 minute walk from town centre). The receptionist Dimitirios was friendly, helpful and on hand if you had a question or needed help with bookings for different things.

Very happy I chose to stay here. Will consider staying here again next time I visit Santorini and will recommend this place to others.

GREAT hotel stay and experience! The suite was way more spacious than we pictured. It had a nice size bedroom with a connected living room (dining table with chairs couch with coffee table) and big bathroom. Housekeeping came every day and kept the whole place incredibly clean. The view was pretty nice especially at sunrise and the private hot tub on the private balcony was amazing. Its location in Fira is perfect - walking distance to Theotokopoulos main square, Firostefani square, the cable car (and steps) down to the old part, the starting point of the hike to Imerovigli/skaros rock/Oia, the three bells of Fira and the public bus station which can take you pretty much everywhere. But the best part of the hotel, by far, was the manager, Dimitrios. He always made himself available, was incredibly helpful and super personable. We enjoyed checking in with him every day just to talk about how our days were going.

(Also as a side note, the bus is the cheapest option to get to the hotel from the airport but a bit of a trek if you’re first getting there and don’t know where you’re going. Next to that, booking the car service through Altemar Suites is a much cheaper option than any taxi you’d pre-book or find there.)

This is a wonderful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It does not have the Caldera vibe or sunset view but you get to watch the sunrise from your bedroom/ patio or even private Veranda (if you are lucky to get the pent house like we were). It is 10 min walk from Fira bus station with many nearby restaurants on the main road or Caldera. Each unit has its own private jet tub which luckily wasn’t very hot durning the heat of August. There is a small main pool to cool off but we didn’t use it.

We had an amazing stay at alterar suites, Dimitrios was super helpful and accommodating. He arranged our taxi to and from the airport and helped us plan activities for the duration of the trip! He gave us recommendations of where to eat and visit and booked everything for us himself.

My daughter and I travelled to Greece for the first time, we stayed two nights at this property. Dimitrios was an EXCELLENT host, very accommodating and professional. The property is well maintained, we chose it for its proximity to shops/restaurants. Easy bus ride to Oia to explore. We felt well taken care of and safe. A/C is wonderful! Only suggestion is to put a shelf in the shower for shampoo/etc.

Dimitrias greeted us with a friendly handshake and welcome immediately upon arrival. Rooms were very clean and well thought out - and exactly as depicted in advertisements. Dimitrias was always available to help and offer suggestions. We felt like we were staying with family. Was hands down the best service and stay we had since arriving in Europe. I would give more stars if I could. Highly Recommend!!

Location was great because it was walkable to all the things but on the more quiet side of the island, we were able to get a driver to take us right to the hotel so we didn’t have to carry our luggage around the crowded streets, rooms were spacious and clean, showers excellent, views were great even though it was not the caldera view, staff was friendly and helpful

The property is conveniently situated within walking distance of all the renowned landmarks in Fira. The hotel manager, Dimitrios, is exceptionally amiable and accommodating. I almost felt like I had my own personal assistant throughout the stay. He provided assistance with directions, dining suggestions, and transportation recommendations, which was truly fantastic. I am looking forward to returning soon. Overall, I had a five-star experience during my stay at this hotel.

We were a group of 3 and had a big room and big bathroom. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom. Excellent shower. We had 2 steps up to the bathroom, which wasn’t a problem but is worth asking about if that’s a concern (though Santorini is full of steps all around.) Each room has a small hot tub outside. Views of the ocean ( though not the side with caldera). AC works great, which is good bc Santorini was hotter than we expected. Temps in the 70’s felt more like 80s. Hotel is close to restaurants and shops and where the main action is in Fira. Dimitri at the front desk is very helpful and fun to talk with. I would stay here again.

Much needed getaway

Perfect location, with easy walk into Fira. Dimitrios made us feel very welcome and made check in fun. He helped us organize a sailing outing that was one of the highlights of our visit. The room was fresh and clean with an amazing sunrise view each morning. We also had our own personal spa which was an added indulgence for our stay. We highly recommended this property.

The host and the cats near the property were the best. The hot tubs look like they are private in the photos but are definitely not. I would say the photos look a tad bit better than the actual property itself. I feel like you could get a better place for the price paid! The gentleman who does the transfers, Artemis, is a peach!

The views from the patio are stunning. You have uninterrupted views of the beautiful sunrise over the east side of the island. The jacuzzi is wonderful after a long day of walking around or doing the Oia to Fira hike (as I did). Dimitri goes out of his way to find resources and personalized activities. He called to make sure archaeological sites would be open and buses running the Monday after Easter. It is a 10 minute walk to the main bus station on the island. It is also a 10 minute walk to beautiful views over the Caldera, shopping and restaurants in town.

Lovely place to stay. Very walkable to all the action of shopping and dining yet tucked away where it’s quiet and peaceful. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our early arrival. Our room did not have any obstructive views of the ocean and it was nice to leave the windows open to feel the fresh breeze.
