The villa we stayed at was beautiful, it was not far from town center or the airport. The receptionist tried calling and helping us with a tour but it was our fault, we didn't say anything the day before. Even with that everyone was very friendly and helpful to us. It was super relaxing and slow. The weather was beautiful, it was before tourists season. A lot of mosquitoes but that's life, all with coming to this place.

The room was clean and a great space! There was just a couple of things that let this hotel down! The kitchenette advertised is literally a fridge kettle and coffee machine (with no coffee supplied) that you would get in any hotel! There was a crack in the dry wall by my bathroom and the fridge was so loud at night I had to turn it off I also had to request the safe key, but as reception closed before I arrived I didn’t have it until the next day!
My patio door handle broke whilst there and was fixed within less than 24 hours even though they had to get someone to come out to do it! Very apologetic and fixed very quickly!
Room service was done daily and always done well!
But the hotel was clean easy location friendly staff would definitely use again if I was in Santorini

TERRIBLE STAY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Our stay was filled with misleading information and serious safety concerns. The listing showed a breakfast bar, but there was no breakfast available—something we only learned after pressing staff. We also booked this villa for the “scheduled airport shuttle,” only to find out there was no schedule and the cost was higher than a local taxi.

The room itself had major issues. The bathroom door didn’t close, the shower smelled moldy, and bugs were everywhere. Housekeeping didn’t come until 4:30pm the next day. Despite these problems, we tried to push through.

The final night was the worst. We saw birds entering a vent near our room in the afternoon. Later that night, after dealing with bugs, I saw a bird inside the room. We tried calling the front office multiple times, but no one picked up. With no emergency contact info, we had no choice but to book a room next door at a different hotel.

When we checked out and explained everything, the man we spoke to was rude and dismissive, blaming us for not calling—even after we showed our call logs. He claimed we should have used a WhatsApp number we were never given. They then refused to give us a refund (not even a partial refund). No one should have to sacrifice safety, cleanliness, or basic respect—do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

We had requested twin beds, and they did their best to accommodate us. The rooms were nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay there. They let us leave our luggage there as we arrived in the morning and couldn’t check in. We went out to see the town. When we returned we had our rooms. When we checked out we again left our luggage there as we had a tour before our flight back to Athens. They were very accommodating to us. I would definitely stay there again if I return to Santorini.

Galatia Villa offered a stay with all the essentials. It has a kitchenette and a table with chairs which allowed us to have breakfast and warmed up some left over at any time.
We liked the style and decoration.
Probably the only downside would be the size of the shower…very small.

The receptionist was very rude. We had reserved 5 rooms. We emailed the hotel 2 months in advance requesting that 2 rooms have twin beds. When we asked about the request the receptionist said that he had know idea what rooms had twin beds. He couldn’t direct us to our rooms. We did not get twin beds in any room. There was a mix up with our bill. The hotel had processed our credit card before arrival and the receptionist couldn’t explain the bill. The manager was no where to be found. The rooms weren’t ready and in haste we were given rooms that were obviously partially cleaned. Although per the website breakfast would be available at a charge it was not. Overall not a good experience.

Two story room was wonderful and very clean. Super shower!! The view from our ‘superior’ room was awful. The private hot tub on the balcony was small/ Luke warm ( September). Front desk said keep pressing the ‘jets’ to get it hotter. We own a jacuzzi at home!!! Sad. The pool looked great online, but it was about 6x 5 foot. Plunge pool. 😞

Not a great place if you are older/injuries..it’s a 10 min walk up a steep hill to get into town.
We rented a quad bike which made traveling easier.

The property was very nice! The outside of the property did look a little different than the pictures but it was still beautiful. Our room was exactly like the pictures and we enjoyed our private hot tub. My husband forgot his belt and they kindly mailed it back to us when we got home! Also, make sure to know where the city center is when booking, it was about a 10 minute walk from this hotel. Overall, we had a great time in Santorini.

I thought the accommodation was exclusive to what we wanted. Very relaxing. Hot tub was relaxing loooking out to the sea view. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and kept us posted. Beds were made everyday and we always came back to a tranquil, clean room. Reception manager was also very helpful on sharing information in regards to excursions. Hotel was a bit of a walk from the centre but many little shops to visit on the way. There is a slightly steep incline hill before you reach the main road which people with any difficulties should consider. Although we found if you walk under the bridge, there is a lovely walkway all the way to the town centre avoiding all traffic. A beautiful place to stay would definitely recommend.

Très silencieux, pas si loin du centre, meme s'il faut marcher 5 minutes. Le personnel est courtois et rapide .
Par exemple , nous avons demandé a louer un quad , et en vingt minutes , il était a la porte ! Et pour moins cher que sur la rue ou internet !
La chambre était assez spacieuse et jolie .
La piscine fut bien agréable apres une journée au soleil .
Il y a de l'eau en bouteille et de la bière sur place a bon prix, un marché tout près aussi .

Extremely small bathroom only issue

Nice stay, located about a ten minutes walk from the city center. I liked the sofa and dining table set up. The room was large, which was a benefit. The downside is the extremely small bathroom. There is practically no space for the toilet. A large or tall person would have great difficulty with it. Even for a thin person, just standing by it, you’ll have your left foot in the shower, and the right hip next to the sink. The shower is extremely small, and I found it a bit dangerous; it’s rather slippery. Due to its very compact size, not only did the shower curtain stick to me while showering, but the bathroom also floods from the shower. Not the fault of the hotel, but taxis won’t drop you off at its door. It leaves you at the entrance to the street above it; the street leading to the hotel is steep in areas. Other than the extremely small bathroom, and the taxi situation, the place is nice.

Shower was TINY - this was our main gripe - I am a UK size 6/8 Woman and the shower curtain stuck to me and with the curtain drawn water still flooded the bathroom. For such a small space it should be glass/plastic but regardless the shower needs upgrading
Only 1 bin in the bathroom (after 2 nights we had filled this) this wouldn’t be so bad but we were told due to COVID daily cleaning would cost 20 euros A day (I think)....

We stayed in one of the newly built apartments a little ways down the street from the original hotel which has the pool next to it. The new apartments are very nice. Modern, clean, and well laid out. We stayed here mid March 2020, and the weather on Santorini was sunny, but quite windy and slightly cold. We chose the hotel and those new apartments because they had a spa tub (hot tub) and we were very much looking forward to using it. However, unfortunately the hot tub in unit 17 which we stayed in was not very hot. It was more like a luke-warm tub that you could stay comfortable in if you kept your body mostly fully submerged. There was no way to adjust the temperature, and when we spoke to the hotel owner, he checked an app on his phone and said the hot tub was showing it was at 35 degrees Celcius.

The rest of our stay there was very lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and livingroom/kitchen area was very nice. Be warned though, this is not a hotel for a tall person to comfortably stay in. I'm 5ft 8 and I could easily touch the ceiling in the bedroom, so I'm guessing a 6ft 4inch person would be ducking their head upstairs. Driving to the hotel requires you to drive down a very steep hill and parking is very tight. Best for people who are staying and not renting a car like we did.

We stayed in a 2 floor unit. The bedroom and private jacuzzi outside on the 2nd floor and washroom, kitchenette on the first floor. There is a VERY steep path to get to the hotel. If you are taking the local bus from airport, you can walk to the Villa....all downhill. However going back to the airport we took a transport 20€ since it is all uphill to get to the bus terminal and difficult if you have suitcases. The local bus is great to use...check out KTEL. And the path from Fira to Oia is spectacular.

I liked how the property dealt with setting up an airport shuttle as well as a late check in as well as they held our bags on check out day for a few hours. My only concerns were the AC wouldnt work for more than 10 seconds i think due to the breaker and the shower curtain was impossible to shower with . It would constantly stick to the body.

You got the quaint feeling of Greece, but the building I don't think is very old. It's in a great location, not too far to walk downtown, but far enough to be quieter. The property is gorgeous, with plants and flowers and stone work and a pool- all very beautiful. There is a great variety store just up the road, and they prepare fresh baked items in the morning, and coffee with all kinds of other store items. The staff are great and very helpful, and we loved the atmosphere of the room.

This was our first trip to Fira The hotel was approximately half a mile walk to the center of the old city which was not bad. A mini market was also close by just up the street. We did a catamaran tour and a private island tour which was worth every penny. The only issue with the hotel was probably that the beds were very stiff and very uncomfortable at least in our rooms and number seven and 10 and could use new mattresses . Otherwise there was a small pool to use a nice sitting area for coffee or lounging and it was private away from the noise. I guess a hotel closer to the inner-city would’ve been more expensive but easier to access we did not mind the walk back-and-forth however. The owners and staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. I would recommend visiting the town of Oia.Maybe even doing a donkey ride up the hill which we were not able to do and looked like a lot of fun. getting to the ferry to leave the island seemed chaotic because it was so crowded and the port was under construction so we got there early and there were a lot of people getting on and off the ferry with a lot of bus and traffic. But once on the ferry it was beautiful and a nice comfortable ride to our next destination .

Good location although about a ten minute walk to town up a steep slope and then a busy road with no pavements in some places.
All staff are very friendly and helpful. I emailed before I went and ordered a taxi and it was waiting as we came out of arrivals. The cleaner works so hard. The room was small but very clean and had a fridge , hairdryer and tea and tea/coffee making. The bathroom was small but the water was always hot and the shower worked well. There was only a shower curtain and sometimes the floor got flooded. The beds were very comfortable and the air con and wi-fi worked well.
The pool is small but clean and there was never anyone else there when we were using it and the massage jets were a nice feature.
We were a bit disappointed that the breakfast room advertised did not exist as were told that it was only a waiting area for guests who were waiting to check in or had checked out and a luggage storage facility. We did however have a lovely, private, patio outside our room where we could sit and eat and drink.
All in all it was a lovely place to say with great staff and real value for money,

This was my third visit to Santorini and my third stay at Galatia. That tells you a lot. In previous visits I had stayed in the older rooms overlooking the small pool. This time I stayed in a newer block a few metres away. It's spotlessly clean, i like the shower in the newer block better and there is a small roof terrace with sun beds and jacuzzi. Great to have a little fridge and air con in the room. It's a 10 minute uphill walk into town so you can have the quiet of the hotel and the frenzy of the town which works well for me. If you can't manage hills and steps then Santorini is not the place for you! Family-run hotel and everyone is extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. My previous 2 visits were in October, the latest in April. In future i will return in October - there was a constant cold breeze in April and many hotels were busy doing last minute building works ahead of May 1st opening so noisy. Great hotel for the price and Santorini is a very beautiful island.

Nice Hotel with pleasing splash pool and rooftop whirlpool and sunbathing area. Excellent and friendly staff. A little difficult getting to and finding the facility, but much the same at most hotels in this hilly and cramped area. The studio room was unfortunately too small in retrospect and I hit my shins and stubbed my toes on several occasions. Removing 1 of the twin beds would be recommended. Visiting the center of Fira or the caldera rim requires a strenuous uphill climb (not handicapped friendly area). There is a nearby mini market and the central bus station is a 15-20 minute walk.

Poor and overrated hotel. Provided economy room in spite of booking standard room. WC (bathroom is small with poor drainage). Old building, poor internet connection. All car may not up to the front of the hotel due to the slope.

Otherwise quiet place and staffs are informative.

Very happy whit this hotel, clean and everything working in order. Only concern is that they don't give you drinkable water, since the island sink water is not drinkable they should... But beside that, excellent.

We had a great stay-nice views, short walk to the center, helpful staff, excellent value! Too bad we didn't get to use the rooftop hot tub. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel very close to the main street

The hotel is about 10 mins walking distance to the main street, the central area in the town of Fira. The hotel is also located about 15 mins away from the airport making it a very convenient location.

Excellent Hotel, Warm and Friendly Staff

We have stayed in this hotel previously and love coming back here. There are various room types scattered between two buildings. The room we stayed in this trip was in the second building away from the reception and right beside the small hot tub/swimming pool. The room was meticulously clean and large for what you would expect. It was more then enough room for us, and the hotel is clearly well maintained. The swimming pool and hot tub areas are great areas to wind down after a long day. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to the center of the town, so convenient but away from the noise of the crowds. I have stayed in other much more expensive hotels in Santorini which were a huge disappointment compared to Galatia Villas. Given the choice I will not stay anywhere else in my visits to Santorini and have recommended this hotel to anyone I know going to Santorini. Book well in advance as rooms fill up fast.

Nice clean hotel next to the folk lore museum

We were only here for one night so we didn't get to look around the property. Our room was clean and had a nice bathroom. Our check in was very quick. We would have liked to stay longer. The hotel is a little hike up hill to the main area of Fira. It is about 5-10 minutes. I would recommend this hotel.

Quiet part of Thira

If you plan to arrive by bus/coach coming from the ferry terminal there is a bit of a walk. There is no view of the caldera however there is a pleasant view of the East part of the island. I recommend the ATV rental close by. The town of Thira is great for people who like to walk. The things to do on Santorini are too numerous to list.

Great Service!

The staff at Galatia Villas were extremely accommodating! We arrived in Santorini late at night and were afraid check-in would be a problem. Instead, they sent a personal driver to pick us up from the airport (upon request) and had a staff member present at 10:45pm to check us in. The room itself was clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

Excellent stay. Our room had a private balcony for us to enjoy food and wine on. The hotel is on a quiet street just outside the main town, a short walk away, and right next to the very interesting Folklore Museum.

Convenient Location. Spa tub is cold!

Great location & room was clean. Nearby church bells going off at all hours disturbed sleep. Disappointed that the spa tub is cold (not heated & outdoors).
Would definitely recommend however for value for money accommodation in a convenient location.
