This hotel is not 5 star, it’s more like1 star. It’s very worn, poor quality furnishings and overall is extremely tired. I recently booked and when I arrived and saw the room refused to stay. The hotel wouldn’t refund or even make a gesture so do not book non refundable. I was allocated room 8 and it was like the worst B&B from the 80’s. The headboard was stained, the chair in the room dirty, cheap bed and plastic panels to look like marble in bathroom. The hotel is nothing like the images, inside or outside.

We recently stayed at this boutique hotel and, while the experience was enjoyable overall, it didn’t quite meet the expectations of a five‑star property.
The welcome was underwhelming, check‑in took only a few minutes, with a key handed over and directions given, but no offer to assist with luggage or guide us to the room. At a true five‑star level, that personal touch is usually part of the arrival experience.
That said, the hotel itself is immaculate. Our luxury suite (Room 12) was spotless and beautifully designed, with a wonderful bath that made the stay feel indulgent. A small detail like bubble bath would have elevated the experience further.

There was an honesty bar downstairs too. Breakfast was great with both continental and a cooked option. Plenty of onsite parking. It’s easy to walk into Bath too. Loved staying here and hope to return.

We was checked in super fast very professionally and friendly the room was super comfy and spotlessly clean bathroom was fantastic and spotlessly clean we opted for breakfast which is a bit pricey to be honest but the service and full english breakfast was fantastic and a great choice of quality items for the continental breakfast

We were a group of 8 in 4 rooms, and we all enjoyed the stay very much. Comfortable rooms, excellent food, friendly service, so there’s little not to like. Maybe that the bar closes a little early at 10pm?

I will summarise this hotel as a simple but meaningful ‘WOW’. From the moment we arrived, the hotel was clean, quiet, inviting with beautiful greenery and parking was an ease. Service at the front desk from checking in to checking out was second to none with advice on local walks, restaurants, spas and more. We had the master suite and it did not disappoint. Beautifully decorated from the furniture to the bath tub!! This hotel is a must visit, must stay and worth every penny. We will be back next year and we cannot wait! Me and my girlfriend LOVED it! Absolutely amazing experience here. We had dinner at Bouvardia which was incredible and the service was impeccable. Our room was so clean and we were upgraded to a luxury suite, the bed was so comfortable and the bath was lovely.
The staff were all great and so welcoming, the honesty bar is also a great idea. The only downside was it was quite noisy outside in the early morning as they were doing works on the road and people were constantly beeping!

A lovely property! We enjoyed our stay here very much and only wish it could have been longer. The staff were welcoming and attentive and all the extra little touches (little bag of treats, the stocking of the water and other beverages, the honour bar, the well stocked coffee and tea bar) were greatly appreciated. We would have loved to have stayed longer and explored more of the area and the city of Bath. My only (very small) critique would be the towels. I had expected to exit the shower and envelope myself in something soft and fluffy and the towels were of much lesser quality than would be expected at a hotel of this calibre. We would definitely recommend Bathen House and hope to visit again sometime!

An absolute gem in Bath, 10min drive from the main attractions so was very convenient. Free On site parking which is ideal for anyone driving. Staff were extremely friendly very attentive and happy to help and made our stay an absolute joy.

This hotel is not as described. We did not receive the bed type we confirmed. Carpets and walls had stains. We tried and move to another place and they would not refund us. Do not book Bathen House. Restaurant overlooks the parking lot. Again, do not believe these photos.
