Centrally located, this hotel has modern updated rooms, and sits across from St. John’s church in Cirencester. No parking onsite, but there is long stay parking within a five minute walk, as well as a drop off zone directly in front of the hotel, to facilitate luggage deposit. Would definitely stay again.

The recently refurbished (I understand) room was a generous size, and bed was enormous and comfortable. The view over the square was great, but this meant a few noise issues from passers by at kicking out time. The walk in shower was clean but lack of shelving for shower gel and shampoo seemed like an oversight.

We had a fabulous room, which was ready for us when we arrived at 1130. The bathroom was huge and I had a bath, as requested. Disappointingly, the bath plug was faulty and although staff promised to replace, it remained faulty so I was unable to have a bath which I had looked forward to. Breakfast staff still not listening to specific requests - the food is amazing but far too much of it, and I hate waste!

The welcome at reception was off, the woman wanted me to be faster at finding my details (there was no queue) and proceeded to stand up so she could look over the top of my phone screen. She did this 3 times. Just odd.

It wasn’t particularly windy outside but as the window didn’t close the blind banged against the window, I ended up pushing towels into the gap which reduced it a little. It also meant that side of the room was cold as there appeared to be no heating in the room.
I asked about the gym, I was told ‘we don’t have a gym’ there are literally signs around the hotel saying ‘gym and spa’ - I assume it was under maintenance but the staff member didn’t both to explain that. Overall not great.

Upon arrival, I was told that they had no room for me, because \"You have accidentally booked for the following night\". When I produced the email confirmation that showed that not only HAD I booked for the correct night, but I had paid for the stay IN ADVANCE, the staff said \"you're in luck! you can have very last available room!\" As if I should be grateful that they had deigned to provide the service which I had paid for in advance, instead of APOLOGISING for THEIR mistake, which would have been the correct response.
When I asked where their car park was, I was told that they didn't have one, in direct contradiction to what they had told me BEFORE making the booking.
Then they asked for a credit card for incidentals, but refused to take Amex! What sort of hotel in a tourist town refuses to take Amex? I might point point that Amex seemed to be QUITE GOOD enough for them when taking the fee in advance.

This weekend 2 rooms were triple booked so walked in on someone, shower wouldn’t turn off iron tripped the electrics, lift don’t work, breakfast was a mess and no cutlery.. no juice, had to keep asking for things and a few more things.. not impressed and it was a lot of money to pay

We arrived a week after the hotel’s reopening and the renovated front entrance, sitting area, bar, and dining space were beautifully updated. Unfortunately, the rooms, hallways, and elevator were a sharp contrast and still in need of significant work. While we understand rooms in Europe tend to be smaller, most of the light switches didn’t work, the hallway carpets were mismatched, and years of wear and tear were evident.

Had a great one night stay on 19th September, the Hotel was not fully functional as it has been renovated, so the Bar and Restaurant were not open, however we had a great stay and will definitely return.

Even though the main down stairs wasn’t open due to reverb we had a lovely time of the terrace bar. Rooms were amazing and so beautifully accommodating for dogs. Hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay, which we weren’t aware of until we booked and there wasn’t any recognition of this in reduced fees or gestures, which was a shame.
The property was also not accessible, especially for wheelchair users (at the time, might change with renovations?), we had to leave our babies pram in the car as too many steps.
The parts of the hotel we could use were lovely, well decorated, nice rooms, mostly very clean apart from a few minor spots.
Staff were very friendly and helpful when we had an issue with air con. Great location in centre of town, shame about no long stay parking for the hotel but we did manage to get the few spots outside the hotel overnight as we were mid week and was quiet, there are other parking options 5min walk away.

Hotel is going through some work which was not pointed out at the time of booking, this was a little irritating as I booked it for an anniversary present to my husband.

Short stay parking was very close but it was a five minute walk to long stay parking. Building works going on on the front of the hotel at the time but that did not disturb us in any way

My first impressions weren’t great, I phoned the hotel directly and was quoted £50 more than Expedia and was told they couldn’t match the price.

We had to move rooms 4 times due to human hair being inside all 4 beds. At least the ladies service on reception dealt with the issue by upgrading us until we found a clean bed.
That said, this hotel is very tired and in need of refurbishing. The pictures listed are of the spa as all 4 rooms that we moved to from standard to the best have major carpet stains and water marks on the wooden furniture coffee / tea etc.
