APA in general are great, excellent value and consistently high level of service, clean and easy to access. The only thing letting down Osaka Umeda is the location right next to the train line. Its not an issue at night, but if you wake up before your alarm you will be kept awake by the the trains from about 530am onwards. Great staff, helpful and go out of their way. That said quite close to Osaka station which is a huge help.

It's a typical APA property, but I noticed some long hairs in the bath tub. The trains are also noisy. The area felt a bit inconvenient to access too. The staff were nice, though.

We stayed in this hotel as just an overnight stay between traveling which was just fine for that, probably not ideal for more than that. The room was smaller than we expected but we made it work. Staff were polite and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Great location, walkable to Osaka station. It is a very small room and near to the railway. Luckily, there are no trains at the night. So it is enough quiet for sleep. If you want to have a place for an overnight stay, it is recommended.

I do not recommend this hotel. My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. The train lines create so much noise, we were unable to sleep the entire time. We had to use ear plugs and headphones and it still wasn’t enough. Further the pillows were horrible, we slept with our travel neck pillows. The service was average. You can definitely find a better hotel on your stay in Osaka.

It had more than 10 floors but has only 2 elevators; moreover, the check-out time is 10am, threatening extra charging for over time. The elevator didn't stop for a while at lower floors at all from 9:45 to 10:15am. I wouldn't choose next time.

I like how this hotel is walking distance to Osaka Station and the other train station (forgot the name). There's nearby restaurants, a doughnut shop, 7/11 (few steps away from the hotel). It's a quiet neighborhood in a sense that it's not packed with people walking around. You can hear the train that comes and goes since it's a close proximity to a train station but if you're dead tired after a long day out, you'll not even gonna hear it much. I also like how they provide you with fresh towels everyday in front of your door. They don't do room cleaning each day tho-- it'll be on the 3rd day since you checked in. The reception area is inviting with bright lights and that chandelier makes the lobby look more fancy and the floors too. I just wish the room is bigger but I think in most hotels in Japan, it gotta be small.

Excellent Hotel Price vs Quality

Very clean and all the necessary amenities including coin washing and drying machines… I was able to rest after two full days of walking in Universal. The water pressure and temperature of the shower was also excellent…

The only issue is that checkout is at 10am so I had to add extra hours to finish packing and have a relaxing morning…

Hotel staff also help me to ship one luggage to my Monday hotel in order to avoid taking Shinkansen to Tokyo with a large luggage…

The two complaints I have are the rooms are just way too small. Also the hotel does not offer any kind of shuttle service at all. So you’re on your own if you need to get around. Shopping and restaurants are close by, but if you want to go further out, like to universal studios Japan, either train or taxi. Taxi is easier and drops you off right in front of universal. I used DiDi, was easiest to use to get around

APA hotel Umeda is really close to JR Osaka station and has a lot of great food close by. The standard room is quite small for 2 people. I would recommend booking a larger room for two people as it is even small for a Japanese hotel room.

Convenient near to the jr loop line and osaka main station.

What i don't like is there are no wardrobes and the mattress was too soft.

Maybe ok for an overnight or 2 stay without unpacking luggage but for us staying there 6 nights as using it as base to do day visits of other cities, it was very inconvenient not to have wardrobe.

Great clean rooms, even comes with a Japanese style tub for soaking. Easy check in and luggage storage available. Front desk available 24hrs.

Located around 12-15 mins walk to Osaka station or 6mins to nearest metro. Nothing much around the hotel.

Disappointing distance from the heart of Umeda.

I hate to leave a negative comment here, but I think everyone should know this is not really in or near the heart of what most would consider Umeda. The Hanshin Umeda station is about 15 minutes away and the JR Osaka station, Hankyu Umeda station and Hep Five are about 20 minutes away by foot. The closest station to this APA is the JR Fukushima station, which is 5 minutes away. Apparently, the APA *in* Umeda is called Umeda Ekimae. Wish I had known that when I booked! Misleading location aside, our room was overlooking the JR train tracks and you’d hear trains clonking by every 3-5 minutes. Not super relaxing. Also, unlike the other APAs we’ve stayed at, this one has no spa. Our room had a weird smell to it, as well. Not sure if a previous inhabitant had been smoking cigarettes or if it was mildew (every time we used the shower the whole room would get damp). Room was small as to be expected and the one bright spot was that housekeeping gave us fresh towels every day (because they took forever to dry due to the dampness issue!). We’ve had great stays at APAs in the past but hotel stay really made us reconsider staying at APAs in the future. Don’t stay here unless you have business in Fukushima.

Extremely small rooms! If you dont mind noise then this is the place for you.It is located between 2 rail tracks and very loud. The first night we were there the room was extremely stuffy and warm and were told that they could not turn on the air, heat only and to open a window!! With the rail tracks literally on both sides of the hotel. I also lost the plastic keycard and was charged $10 for another and when i found the old one no refund qas offered! Do not recommend!

Stay if there are no other options

Location is good, in between the Fukushima station and walking distance to Umeda downtown. Bed mattress is too soft and unbalanced, soft at edges and centre, difficult to sleep. Breakfast buffet was limited and repetitive, first time there were not eggs options and tea bags. Reception was generally helpful but did not check if the check out timing matches breakfast paid, in the end paid for breakfast but did not consume for the last day due to early morning check out. No refund, no nothing. Strictly just a place to spend the night but lights, hot water etc. works with typical Japanese efficiency, no english program except BBC news. Convenient 7-11 store next door. Acceptable place if the price is right.

A Famous Japanese Business Hotel

The hotel was everything you would expect from a business hotel in japan. Check-in and check-out process was swift. The hotel is about 10mins walk from Osaka Station so it is not exactly near. And also, the hotel is near the train track so you can hear the sound of train passing from inside your room. Other than that, and with the price of the hotel in mind, I'd say it's good value if you only want somewhere to rest and sleep.

The hotel is in a convenient location though near train tracks which may be a little noisy if you’re sensitive to noise. Easy access to JR Fukushima and the wider Umeda station network.

The hotel itself is quiet and not so high density on each floor. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and can speak some English.

I would have preferred if the hotel provided proper ceramic mugs instead of paper cups. Overall up to the usual APA Hotel chain standard.

Hotel is on the more quiet south side of Osaka Station. It’s connected underground directly to Osaka Station. However, it’s proximity to the Fukushima Station means that you could hear the trains if you have rooms closer to the main road.
